Welcome founding & new members alike. Jump on board the WoW wagon if you want to be slimmer, healthier, happier and more energetic! You've certainly come to the right place! These threads have been going for sometime now and seem well received. The ladies who post are supportive and inspiring in equal measure. There is no shaming, competition or harsh words.

As no one size fits all members generally follow their own way of eating. Nonetheless we will offer guidance and support if required.

Me personally? I keep on it by calorie counting, logging via MFP app, Intermittent fasting, eating a low carb Mediterranean style diet and staying well hydrated. I can’t emphasise enough the importance of drinking plenty of water. There are so many enjoyable options without the need to resort to extreme measures. Whatever way you choose, it needs to be enjoyable & sustainable for the long term. This is a long term commitment rather than a quick fix. I also rarely drink alcohol and keep sugar to a minimum. I exercise by walking & swimming.

Interested? Add your name, personal goals, eating/exercise plan etc.

Wednesdays will be WoW (weigh on Wednesday)

Finally feeling a bit better. Fell straight back off the wagon last night as went to the gfs and we had cheese pancakes and Galaxy caramel pancakes. She’s given up sugar for lent and I’m now really cracking on until 21st March.

Gf has made the decision to move to Cornwall for a few months (5 hours away) to look after some ill elderly family members so feeling a bit glum but trying to tell myself it’s not forever and I should still see her once a week or so when she travels up for work. I plan to use my spare time and money at the gym to lose the final stone!

SunshineCake · 26/02/2020 12:53

Hello every£one

Apologies for no name checking but I'm running myself ragged here. My appointment went much better than expected but was still hard and tiring. D h was fine without me.

Lost 0.6lb since last Wednesday and and 2.2 since the last Wednesday in January but I've been up and down twice so not sure it counts. Really want to get down to the next stone amount!

MrsJonesAndMe · 26/02/2020 20:17

(((hugs))) @SunshineCake small steps

That sounds tough @Foreverlexicon.

I'm glad to hear you're home again @fallfallfall

I've had the first in control day in ages! Hope to build on that momentum. Just sick of the horrible weather now Angry

SunshineCake · 27/02/2020 05:54

Thank you @MrsJonesAndMe I'm definitely lacking in hugs. What weather do you have? I was hoping to wake up to snow ⛄️

Foreverlexicon · 27/02/2020 07:05

I had a pretty light day yesterday which was a good kick start.

B - cereal bar
L - quiche and salad
D - cauliflower and chickpea curry with cauliflower rice
S - mini snickers bar

Total: 1025

I think I’m finally actually getting better so hopefully will exercise soon!

SunshineCake · 27/02/2020 11:35

I've lost weight but not surprised as I am shattered and not stopping.

We had snow for a bit.

Good to hear you are feeling better @Foreverlexicon.

MrsJonesAndMe · 27/02/2020 12:31

We've had sleet, nothing settling. How are things?

SunshineCake · 27/02/2020 17:07

Nothing settles here either.

Dh still looks poorly.

I am beyond shattered. Have my asthma check tomorrow which I am glad about as I've never had to do my inhaler as much as I have this week.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 27/02/2020 19:14

Hope doc can help @SunshineCake I read something the other day that said you should wear a scarf over your mouth to warm the air before it hits your lungs as cold air triggers asthma. No idea if that's helpful or not but thought I'd pass it on just in case.

MrsJonesAndMe · 27/02/2020 19:28

Good luck for tomorrow @SunshineCake PM me if you need company. Around to chit chat rubbish for quite a large amount of the day tomorrow

SunshineCake · 27/02/2020 21:46

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 thank you very much. I had no idea about this and will do it tomorrow.

Thank you @MrsJonesAndMe I will be walking my dog then asthma check then Asda shop.

I'm off to bed shortly but just want to add that I have lost 6.4lbs since January 1st but twelve pounds in total if I count the up and down situation.

I'm the lowest I've been I ages but still have lots to go.

Good night.

TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 · 27/02/2020 22:02

Here you go, have no idea how I got onto it, one of those rabbit holes if clicking links from links to links but it stuck in my mind

www.asthma.org.uk/scarfie

Foreverlexicon · 28/02/2020 07:22

Slowly does it @SunshineCake and you have a lot going on, well done, it’s a massive achievement!

I had a good day yesterday
B - cereal bar and banana
S - Cappucino
L - quiche and salad
D - chicken hotpot thing with wedges and broccoli
S - options hot choc with a dash of baileys
Approx 1400 cals
Rode the horse for exercise.

Plan to start exercising again today, either a short run or an exercise dvd weather dependent.
No idea on my weight but trying hard as I want to of lost 5lb by the 21st March which is quite a lot at my weight. I won’t weigh until then, I think I prefer weighing occasionally.

MotherOfLittlePeople · 28/02/2020 09:01

Just checking back in.

I really haven't eaten the best this week or made the best choices when I have eaten but I've been feeling rubbish and now both my little ones are poorly AGAIN. First chicken pox now ear and chest infections and sickness.

I am on slimming world but have decided to do it online from home now, instead of dragging the youngest to group. Hoping for better results in March.

Hope everyone else is doing well.
@SunshineCake I hope your DH and your are ok x

RubySlippers77 · 28/02/2020 09:39

Hope you are feeling a bit better now @SunshineCake and that you and your DH are recovering well.

@MotherOfLittlePeople that's why I gave up WW a few years ago, our leader was lovely but I hated dragging toddler DTs out to it! Having said that WW have recently sent me a special offer so I might give their new plans a go. I found SW online quite good but a bit basic for the ££, would have enjoyed it more if I could get to a group (my friend in the next town really likes hers). Hope your DC are better soon Flowers

Don't think I will have any weight loss to report, my new antibiotics are making me feel rubbish, I'm constantly craving chocolate although nothing new there and have zero energy to shop/ cook healthily. My inner ear infection isn't clearing up, hence my balance isn't great either - I have to crawl upstairs still. Thank goodness for nursery mornings when I get a couple of hours' recovery time!

MotherOfLittlePeople · 28/02/2020 09:44

@RubySlippers77 is it not the same as what you get for going to group? I know you don't get the certificates. But can you still use the app?

Hope you feel better soon. I've had a take away or some form off crap food every night this week bar last night but nothing else through the day. When you feel crap and the little ones are ill cooking is the last thing you want to do isn't it x

RubySlippers77 · 28/02/2020 10:35

@MotherOfLittlePeople SW do give you virtual certificates - I just found the app not as user-friendly as the WW one. I enjoyed the diet plan more but think it would help if I could stay at a group and meet other people, which at the moment I can't. The WW plan is cheaper for digital only and one of the plans looks fairly similar to SW anyway Smile

Having said that, I haven't signed up for anything as I don't think it's worth it till I feel a bit better! Same as you, it's been easy food all the way this week. The chip shop has been our friend Blush

SunshineCake · 28/02/2020 18:23

@TorysSuckRevokeArticle50 I did follow your scarf tip today and if did seem to help thank you. I've seen a different asthma nurse today and she has given me a new plan for my inhalers. She also assured me the chest pains I've been having every day are stress but to keep an eye.

Dh didn't sleep well so we are both really tired today. I have to taxi dd around four times over the weekend but other than that just walking the dog and housework.

Hope everyone else is well.

fallfallfall · 28/02/2020 18:57

I’m soooo soooo off the wagon.
I need to loose the cravings.
Sunshine I’m sending you ongoing positive thoughts :).

SunshineCake · 28/02/2020 19:09

Thank you fallfallfall. I really want biscuits GrinSad.

MrsJonesAndMe · 28/02/2020 20:05

Glad I'm not alone @fallfallfall Takeout pizza and cookies and Coke! Blush

Hope you get some rest over the weekend @sunshinecake. The housework can wait. The dog and child not so much.

fallfallfall · 28/02/2020 20:23

i've tried to give up lunch for lent...(any excuse to get my mind/body back on track) and have failed daily. far worse choices than the soup options.
so i need to make soup ASAP.
not walked 10,000 steps since the day we flew home (although awake for 30+ hours).
learned how to make a lovely chia seed pudding BUT i'm sure it was a sneaky 300 calorie treat that wasn't earned through activity...at least my innards are happy :D

RubySlippers77 · 28/02/2020 22:07

@MrsJonesAndMe pizza, cookies and coke sounds fab Grin we got a curry but the antibiotics are making even that taste grim. I'm just crawling through the days at the moment powered by chocolate trying to get better. I am so tired of being fat, and it giving me social anxiety, but at the same time I'm too tired to do anything about it. Really need to get back into healthy eating!

RubySlippers77 · 28/02/2020 22:22

@SunshineCake I hope having a dog around is helping too. I would love one but not whilst my DC are still small! Might end up getting an older (less demanding) dog when they are old enough to appreciate it, dogs are lovely company Smile

fallfallfall · 29/02/2020 02:57

well, 2 huge red peppers roasted and the cauliflower is in the oven. I WILL make soup in the am!!
