@recklessgran wow, 5 children! Everyone seems to be different, like you say suddenly it can all change and your body just doesn’t behave like it used to. The thyroid issue won’t help that also. But you’ve got this!

That’s a neat idea @JontyDoggle37 for those looking for more accountability.

Bought some cacao butter and used it in hot chocolate in place of cream as an experiment. It was very tasty Grin and filling! Didn’t really need to eat after that. Not that I recommend just drinking hot chocolate and nothing else!

Haven’t done any exercise yet Blush really need to get on that. I did go for a walk yesterday though so that was minor progress.

Morning lovelies! Hello new joiners! It's lovely to see so many new people joining :)

My insomnia is at full whack this week. I haven't been getting to sleep until 2/3am and then alarm goes off at 6.15 so I am absolutely exhausted. As a result my weight is all over the place. My mum bought me a sanctuary sleep kit for Christmas so going to try a warm lavender bath tonight and see if that helps.

Plan for today is:
L - mushroom soup with 2 multi seed crackers and a little violife cream cheese
D - jackfruit chilli and brown rice
Snacks - work fruit bowl only!!

Have a great Tuesday losers!

@CtrlAltDelight for me the trick is to meal plan BEFORE food shopping not after.

That way you have a controlled list of food to buy, less waste and you don't buy unnecessary food.

@naturistmum , that's my current weight, can I ask if ou have nuggets of wisdom? I would love to be where you are now, that's an amazing loss well done!

@JontyDoddle that sound like a brilliant idea, I'd definitely be up for it!

@beforeIhit30 I must try that! Would def help with my choccie cravings!

Oh @cricketmum84 that sounds very hard! Is there anything you can do to get a rhythm going again or is it just something that sorts itself?

I successfully finished my FD yesterday and decided to go b2b (and not because I went slightly over calories with the rice). Kitchen closed at 624

B coffee/water
L Chicken Balti & rice
D Smoked haddock & veg

Weigh day tomorrow, I've stayed away from the scales all week so I'm hoping for a good loss, aiming for 2kg, as it's the first week, I weigh as much as a baby whale, and I haven't eaten sweets...except for Sunday but that doesn't count. I'm hoping for one big loss then slow and steady to get to target. I'm quite short but large of arse and nonk so 69kg would actually be ideal. I started at 119kg Jan last year so hopefully I'll do a bit better on the weight loss this year.

Good luck everyone!

Ecci · 07/01/2020 10:02

3.6 lbs down since the 1st Jan. Really pleased as I only managed a measly 0.8 lbs in December. Gone back to my standard regime, which seems to work for me. Only Christmas food left is some dark chocolate with ginger. I thought it would last ages if I only have I square each day, but just found out DH is also eating it, even though he hates both those things.

naturistmum · 07/01/2020 10:36

Somesortofzilla - no nuggets but I have been on diets on and off since I was an adult. The only difference this time is that I have actually joined a diet group (SW) so there is the accountability in getting weighed. In addition, my best friend goes too, so there is moral support and less chance of not turning up for weigh in!

I think doing 5;2 twice a week has ramped up the loss too, so I lose 2-3lbs most weeks.

I have a big event coming up next month and will be seeing people I haven't seen since last March (when I was at my heaviest). I really want to be glamorous and confident and at a weight I am comfortable at so that has been a big motivator for me. I'll need to come up with something after that event though so it doesn't creep back on again.

Official weigh in for me is tomorrow morning but I step on the scales each morning to check progress. I think I am about 2.5lbs down from last week. I hope for a 3lb loss tomorrow so I have clawed back half of what I put on over Christmas, with the aim to lose the other 3lbs next week.

JessJonesJumps · 07/01/2020 11:52

I love the idea of accountability partners too!

My scales are showing a loss of 3lb since yesterday which seems unlikely but I'll see what they say tomorrow. You are all so organised with your meal planning!

Yesterday, I had stuffed pasta for lunch then a maldivian tuna curry for dinner. Snacks were rice cakes and a teeny, mini fudge. Today, I'm having the rest of the stuffed pasta and I think I'll make a mushroom soup because I have some I need to use up.

Jonty I tried the yoga video last night. It was similar to some of my physio exercises but pushed it further which was great so thanks for the recommendation Flowers

I joined one of these threads in August. Lost some weight but has gone wrong since then. Weighed myself on 1st January and weigh even more than I did in August. Not sure what is a realistic loss to aim for but need to stop gaining. My downfall is sweets and chocolate - if I have any I eat too much.

I’ve got to the point where I am overweight and weigh more than I have at any time, except for being pregnant. Suspect a combination of getting older, possibly being on ADs and the sweets and chocolate.

Going to start with eating less and moving more.

Starting weight 72.3kg
Aim for end of January 70kg

BeyondFlubeInclusionaryRF · 07/01/2020 12:11

Hi, signing back in after ooo probably about 18months absence Blush

So today I weigh 18.3 which is shockingly bad (for me) - and my highest weight ever. Bad combination of perimenopause and a lot of alcohol-focussed social activity. But I am getting married in 199 days, so urgently need to address my size. Not just for the wedding but permanently- it's much easier to have something to aim for though, isn't it!!

I am dry for at least January, if not February too, I've cut out coffee, I'll be exercising and drinking enough water, as well as a sort of mish-mash of slimming world, low carb and alternate fasting.

BeyondFlubeInclusionaryRF · 07/01/2020 12:15

I hadn't even met DWtb when I was last on these threads! It's been a proper whirlwind :)

I had a smoothie for breakfast (have breakfast smoothie mix to use up, added extra berries and made with water), and have had two herbal teas. Dinner will be salmon and veg, if I need another meal then it will be lentil soup.

Egghead68 · 07/01/2020 12:19

Just documenting for myself as going a bit off and over plan. Ignore me!
B: Fruit, meringue, trifle, options hot chocolate 700
L: 2 M&S salads 650
S: 2 chocolates, some sugar-free mints 200
Plan is now no dinner and then circuits.

MsTSwift · 07/01/2020 12:52

Well feeling smug today my plateau lifted now at just above 10 st so 64 kg! Started in October at 11st 9lb 76 kg. Thanks to Michael Mosley

Egghead68 · 07/01/2020 13:33

Congratulations @MsTSwift. 64kg is my next goal. You have lost the weight really quickly.

Tryingtwo · 07/01/2020 13:44

Good morning all. I carried on snacking yesterday, I stuck to relatively goid choices but still went just over 1500 cals.
My weight is slightly up but honestly I expected that because Saturday's loss was excessive (for me). I'm still down over 3lbs since 1st Jan. Weigh in tomorrow.

bluepixie · 07/01/2020 14:25

Ugh Galen off wagon. Was having major carb craving had a cheese sandwhich and got a meal out tonight. Will def be up tmrw! :(

Egghead68 · 07/01/2020 14:43

That happened to me yesterday @cream123. A cheese sandwich was my downfall too. The odd day won't do too much damage though (I tell myself anyhow).

bluepixie · 07/01/2020 14:49

Thanks @egghead. I had a cheese sandwhich too!
Well I’m out tonight too...but I have 2 days pre my weekend break so will be extra good super low calorie it and see if can get to 10.11 before I get on the plane!

7Worfs · 07/01/2020 14:53

A bit of progress after a week of stalling - new lowest weight this morning - 58.0kg.

B - porridge with banana
L - scrambled eggs with cheddar, olives, leftover broccoli fritters and roasted parsnip
D - leftover cottage pie

Barely slept last night, baby’s first tooth is about to pop, so last few nights have been interesting.
Sorry you’re also having trouble sleeping, cricket, it’s the worst!

JessJonesJumps · 07/01/2020 15:29

Beyond congratulations on the wedding! That all sounds very exciting Flowers

Katinka2 · 07/01/2020 16:22

I’m just checking in so I don’t lose myself, MUST GET BACK ON TRACK.

After busy week, unexpected eating out on two! Occasions, I’ve managed to lose 2lbs. Disappointed 😔. Better than another gain like over Christmas but want to catch up with losses as I can feel myself slipping back to old ways, not tracking and thinking it won’t matter.

Had hair cut today, made new appointment for end of February so that will be another target to get to as was discussing 16/8 with hairdresser.

Meal planning and more organised food shopping making life much easier and cheaper though, so a win. MUST KEEP GOING.

JontyDoggle37 · 07/01/2020 21:01

Really pleased with today - good food choices all day, 2 litres of water drunk, and 10,000 steps done. Cup of tea and then off to bed soon for a great nights sleep 😴

JessJonesJumps · 07/01/2020 21:45

I had a busy day today, waited too long to eat and ended up eating some fruit cake. Also didn't get the chance to do any exercise unless wrestling with a Christmas tree counts

L: stuffed pasta
D: chicken kebab and salad
Snack: fruit cake

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

beforeIhit30 · 07/01/2020 22:59

Had a good breakfast and sharing it in case it is done inspiration! I like reading the foods on here Smile I made stuffed raw pepper (again!) and it turned out to be filling despite being lower in calories than my usual food.

2 raw pepper halves, stuffed with full fat cottage cheese (80g total), nutritional yeast on top (5g total), and then topped with sliced ham (50g total). Works out about 195 calories, 22.5g protein, 5.9g fat, 2.4g fibre. Anyway kept me full for ages, I was genuinely surprised!

For context, I normally eat at least 600 calories at breakfast (and way more fat). So I recommend for breakfast or a light meal - for vegetarians, obviously sub ham with something suitable like sliced Quorn if you like that (the ham was 12g protein in total) or anything else protein-filled. I think the combination of fat and protein is what makes it filling, so I’d recommend not cutting out the fat from the cottage cheese with a fat free/low fat version, it’s already quite low cal (IMO anyway, I appreciate my view might be skewed for anyone doing low cal/low fat as I eat a lot of fat!).

Trewser · 07/01/2020 23:02

I used to love slices of ham rolled up with full fat cottage cheese inside, nom!
