Got back from hols last Saturday and promised I would start weight lose on Monday. Got into work on Tuesday to find a large tin of biscuits on the desk. Not good. Thought I would try Mumsnet for moral support and found out everyone started without me.
I'm 44 years (Jane Fonda where are you now!) 12 stones 5'6 and need to join in with others to lose the flab. Have 3 year old and work part-time 3 days a week, in a Yukky job. Anyone want to join me?
What get advice on losing weight mainly using exrcise as I really love my food
With a little support I might be able to diet too.

good night all, happy dreams!

fedda · 17/12/2007 18:45

kidrus, I went shopping today and each time I tried the clothes on I saw my anourmous wobly ugly terrifying belly! It's so terrible. I've got some skirts and tops and Marks and Spencer has done something o please women so my size 14 is size 12 loose not because I've lost weight so, it's misleading of course but anyhow it's pleasing. I know I'm fool and i should know better. Anyway, I stopped at Starbaks and had toffee nut hot chocolate with salmonsandwich on wholemeal bread but with mayonnaise - took 2 pieces of bread out though. Then I had fresh berry juice in a food store and at home, all my DH fault, Indian meal for 2 from supermarket with chicken, pots, rice with muchrooms - I had less then him but still. Then coffee with 2 sugars and 1 chockie and 2 fadge. Only brealfast was normal today - poridge. What am I doing? Have I gone off the rocker?

Fimbles5 · 18/12/2007 08:13

Fedda - I don't know you very well but I am sure your belly is not enormous, is not really that wobbly, is not that ugly and is really not that terrifying. It just seems that way to you. All your friends and family see you for what you are - from your posts I read that to be a lovely, honest genuine person. I have been where you are - in August I looked in the mirror and sobbed my heart out wondering what in the hell my husband saw in me. I saw everything bad I could possibly see in myself, but still my hubby loved me for who I am!! You need to try to think positive, and think of all the good things about yourself that others may not have. Stick with it, I am thinking of you and hopefully soon we can be thin together. (Oh, and by the way I wore the halterneck top for the Christmas party, although I did take a shawl as a security blanket, but in the end I felt fab!!!).

Fimbles5 · 18/12/2007 08:15

kidsrus - Hows it going for you?? I think we may be in need of a success story?

fedda · 18/12/2007 12:02

fimbles, thank you so much for your support and your kindness. Bless you.

Fimbles5 · 22/12/2007 11:52

Oh Dear!! - What has happened to our thread. Hopefully, we haven't all fallen off the wagon. I only lost half a pound this week, but with Christmas week ahead, at least it was a loss. I only have 5.5lbs to lose to my goal, which means I have now lost 19.5lbs. I couldn't have done it without you lot!! However, am now feeling really worried about the next few days, I have chocolate everywhere I could start my own shop. Today, I am preparing a party for my daughter and have eaten one of everything so far!! Sausage roll, mince pie, cheese straw, chocolate roll - I could go on and on!!

fedda · 22/12/2007 22:40

fimbles, I'm afraid i put on some more weight and i even had Calipso coffee today. I'm afraid I'll have to start my diet in the new Year.

Fimbles5 · 23/12/2007 10:10

Fedda, I am so sorry for you, but I understand and I will be here to support you in the new year. Ensure you mark your thread title so I know where you are - if you would like to hear from me, that is!! Have a wonderful Christmas, enjoy and don't dwell too much on what you can and can't eat, I don't intend to either. We have to enjoy ourselves sometimes. Have fun and I promise to catch up with you somewhere in the new year.

fedda · 23/12/2007 12:02

Hi, fimbles. Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you and your family. Thank you so much for your support. Fimbles5 · 26/12/2007 13:37

Blimey kidsrusanta - Didn't you do well!! And to be able to track it all too. I had:
2 slices of toast.
1 Chocolate from Xmas tree.
Then melon, turkey, sprouts, broccoli, cauli, roast pots, parsnip, sausage & bacon, stuffing & gravy followed by Christmas pudding and custard.
Then I lost it - started with gammon ham, salad, sausage roll, ....... and loads more I shouldn't have had, topped off with loads and loads of wine and alcoholic drinks. Oops!!
And as for today I won't even go there. Mind you having a fab time, but will regret it all tomorrow. Will be awaiting your support on the new year thread.

fedda · 26/12/2007 18:02

Hi, girls. i had toast with butter and jam for breakfast with tea and jam! Turkey, sprouts, roast parsnips and potatoes, steamed carrots. Didn't have any pudding but had 4 chockies with a cup of coffee with 2 sugars. Today I had poridge with honet and tea with jam, later coffee with 2 sugars. later on - two kiwies. Held myself right back while passing Starbaks. Dinner - turkey curry with rice, egg, mango chatney and coffee with chocies - it will be around 7-ish. Too much food, I know.

kidsrusanta · 26/12/2007 23:39

Thank you, kidrus. Wonderful wishes, Happy New Year and all the very best to you and all of you.

Fimbles5 · 29/12/2007 20:02

Thankyou kidsrus and Fedda. You do not know how much you helped me towards the end of 2007. Just by chatting to you, you inspired me to become not only a little slimmer but happier and more positive about myself. I am sending my very best wishes to you both also, for 2008 and am hoping we can remain in touch in the new year. Your help and advice has been so much appreciated. THANKYOU!

fedda · 29/12/2007 23:26

Thank you so much for your kind words, fimbles. They mean a lot to me. Although I haven't achieved my goal and started to slide down, I'm very happy to hear from you, kidrus and everyone who is still here with me helping me to keep my spirits up. Happy New Year to all of you and let's hope we'll achieve our goals and keep in touch to help each other in maintaining our new looks.

fedda · 01/01/2008 16:19

Happy New 2008 Year!

Fimbles5 · 01/01/2008 20:08

Hello Fedda and Happy New Year!! How are you feeling?? Are you ready for that fresh start?? I started again this morning with the healthier eating regime, and today hasn't been too bad. I did have a hot cross bun for brekky, but then had vegetable soup for lunch, and tuna sandwiches with salad for tea, as just feel I have overeaten over Christmas (who hasn't!). I even managed to run a bit on the treadmill which has been gathering dust in the garage so feeling good at the moment. Not really looking forward to weigh in on Thursday as have a feeling I may have put on 3-4lbs, but have another 2 days to do my best to work some off. Good Luck to you for a healthier, happier new year, and of course, to kidsrus, starbear for starting this thread and for any others we can persuade to join us.

Fimbles5 · 01/01/2008 20:14

Oh and new years resolutions are the same as previous years!! Eat less, Exercise more, and Try to be more confident about myself thus resulting in a happier me. Hopefully, I can accomplish at least one of these this year.

fedda · 01/01/2008 20:15

Hi, fimbles, I feel better today, thank you. I have to wait for the normal time as my house is still full of guests and we're on overeating regime, I'm afraid. I'm planning to start on 7/01 with healthy poridge for breakfast, home made soups for lunch and salad with the main meal. I don't plan to have any strict diets as i don't follow them through and it makes me feel bad about myself. For snacks - fruit, veg and nuts.
