Hello everyone again.
Woodpops I really you. I really dont know how you can do it. I'm struggling to keep my fingers off my kids left overs never mind cooking a pork roast dinner then going and reading the paper. WELL DONE.
I need some kicking up the bum today. I'm not feeling too good. Ive got my weigh in tommorw and i dont think ive done good. Ive stuck to my points but feel like ive eaten like a pig. I'm going to be so dissapointed if i dont lose. Will i ever get there. It seems like such a large mountain to climb and im never going to get to the top. Does anyone else ever feel like this?

monkeygirl · 01/11/2004 22:38

Jnbsmum - don't despair. Yes it is a long-hard slog but don't forget it's months or years of bad eating habits you've got to undo so don't be harsh on yourself, it's going to take time. I'm sure we all feel or have felt that we are not going to get there ever but if it's making you unhappy you've got to keep trying even if it means going backwards sometimes. There lecture over, and I never take any notice of myself but we're all in it together here so you can't give up now!

Essbee - either you have eaten a whole field of horses and sheep in your sleep or you have very very very bad water retention or you need to do a test! Alternatively your scales have got to be broken.

With all I've said I too have been not so good tonight even though dh not here - I blame the fact that I've had a problem with the internet tonight!

soapbox · 01/11/2004 22:45

Essbee - if you are anything like I was when going through my divorce from exarseh then it wasn't a case of what did I eat but what did I drink

I found the odd glass or two or three (well- ok maybe we should be measuring in bottles rather than glasses) really shored me up. Unfortunately wine has rather a lot of calories which more than made up for the food that I wasn't eating

PuffTheMagicDragon · 01/11/2004 23:35

Think I'll need a serious talking to tomorrow. Get those whips at the ready.

woodpops · 02/11/2004 08:19

jnbsmum, I always find I eat loads more when I'm following a diet. If you've stuck to your points you'll be fine. If you've not had a weight loss don't despair it'll probably catch up next week. Good luck with your weigh in

PuffTheMagicDragon · 02/11/2004 09:35

Have put on a quarter of a pound . First weight gain in a while, but I'm not surprised.

Need to get myself back on track. Ate a large handful of pistachio nuts before bedtime last night - bad thing to do (that's probably the weight I've put on.

My self discipline's gone a awol - can someone send it back to me? .

woodpops · 02/11/2004 09:59

Just picture that Little Black Dress for Xmas Puff. Don't dwell on the gain too much just think positivly and get back on track

jnbsmum · 02/11/2004 13:37

I'm sorry but i'm going to gloat. IVE LOST 3 1/2 pounds. Thats 9 in 2 weeks. .
I felt so low last night that i very nearly went for my choccies. I'm really glad i didnt. The truth is that i dont feel like im loosing weight yet. My clothes are getting baggier But i just put that down to me stretching them.
I'm really glad i went to my weigh in cause its put me on a real high now. Hope everyone else is doing well.
Oh and puff, woodpops is right, that little black dress WILL look good at xmas.

woodpops · 02/11/2004 13:44

Well done, told you you'd be fine if you've stuck to your points. My 1st week on LL my clothes were getting baggy but like you put it down to streaching them. THen to my utter amazement when I got on the scales I'd lost 14lb. I'm up to 31½lb now. Put a pair of newish trousers on last week and they fell right back down. How good did I feel.

jnbsmum · 02/11/2004 14:02

well done. Its such a good feeling.
I told dh about my weight loss and he was so proud. That really made me feel good. Must admit i put and old pair of trosers on the other day and they just fell down.
Carry on like you are and you'll be getting a whole new wardrobe for xmas

woodpops · 02/11/2004 14:07

THat's the plan. We're off to Center Parcs in Jan and for once I would like to feel confident in my swimmers.

jnbsmum · 02/11/2004 14:23

That would be lovely for you. I really wantto go there. Must admit i'm not comfortable with swim suits yet. I'd like to have a new summer wardrobe next year. (ive got between 5 and 6 stone to lose) So summer would be more realistic for me

PuffTheMagicDragon · 02/11/2004 14:26

Well done jnbsmum and woodpops .

woodpops · 02/11/2004 14:46

And well done puff. You've still lost 30lb. What's a quarter of a pound?? You'll have to take your watch off next week IYKWIM

bran · 02/11/2004 15:04

Well done everyone - we all seem to be having a good week. I had a phone call yesterday from a very charming old school friend (whom I used to snog a little while at school) who persuaded me to go to our 20 year reunion just after Christmas - talk about motivation, I haven't seen most of these people since I left school. It's weird, I don't give a damm about them and I probably won't see them again until our 40 year reunion, but I want to look better than them . I think I will have to have some serious hair/eyebrow/facial work done in December to make up for the years of not bothering .

champs · 02/11/2004 17:38

hi all!!
Monkeygirl--- I went away for the weekend for our anniv. 2lb is still a good loss... much better than 2lb on. And you find that it is those (me included) who have been eating waaaaay too nuch that loose so much in the first week because they are cutting back so much.
also how about getting some face masks and have a pamper sesion to relax, works for me as I cant stuff my face with it one

Bran @Goat!! lol i meant goal!!
reuinion sounds like excellent motivation. start conditioning hair and have a few facials from now you'll fell amazing and will look so confident. Have you seen your charming friend since school? that too is a big motivation.

puff--- Please dont be too upset. 1/4 of a pound really isn't that bad and woodpops is right 30lb is FAB!!. know how you feel as any kind of weightloss is so disapointing... I will get the whip if you continue missy

essbee--- have a weigh at boots or another place and you can see if your scales weren't working. btw, are you sure you know better?? is there any need to wonder??? I am nosey I know but...

woodpops--- your will power is amazing!! keep it up.

jnbsmum--- gloat away!! well done!!

champs · 02/11/2004 17:39

Essbee you must eat! Your body probably thinks there's a famine and it's trying to store everything you eat as fat in case there's even less food in the future. You need to eat small, frequent meals to get your metabolism going again. And it's not good for your immune system or for your general emotional well-being to starve yourself.

I know you're not a morning person, and I used to be the same myself, but could you have something like a pot of Yakult when you get up? Then have lots of veg and salad chopped up in the fridge so that you can graze on healthy stuff. Have veg with every meal and make sure all your carbs are wholemeal and eat something that doesn't have fat or sugar every 3 hours or so (rice cakes/oat cakes/fruit).

Don't make me come round there with a lentil casserole.

champs · 02/11/2004 18:31

lol, no sex? that rules it out then.
please dont say you haven't eaten anything else. I know this next comment may seem odd, please dont be offended, I only ask as a fellow LTS. Do you think you may have an eating disorder? i still think your bady may be in starvation mode, tell me to butt out if you like, I have made it no secret that I have battled with ed's for a very long time and mean no offence.

champs · 02/11/2004 18:33

crossed posts!! but great minds and all that...

essbee--- have you discussed this with your gp? what does she say? I really do agree that by having small meals you will kick start your metaboli(cant remember how to spell it)
also have a good think of what you eat and how food makes you feel (sounds a bit airy fairy I know!!) it does sound a stho you have a prob. Maybe not a full blown eating disorder but a prob with the way you view food. Have a chat with your gp, maybe take a diary of what you eat so she can see that you eat very little but still put on weight and all your feelings.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 02/11/2004 20:58

Essbee, you've got to eat, else you'll fall over!

I've just joined slimming world online - Yorkiegirl kindly sent me the link. I've been doing the gi diet pretty successfully, but I can still follow the principles of it while doing sw. It's £20 a month (minimum 3 months subscription), not cheap, but there's lots of recipes, online food diary etc etc. I did sw a few years ago ( had a LOT less to lose then) and got on well with it. So, here goes!

woodpops · 03/11/2004 08:21

Puff, it's alot cheaper than mine. I'm paying £45 a week!!!
