Hello,

I just posted separately but then I found this...

I am struggling with motivation to stay on the weight loss wagon. I am usually so good but recently it's fallen by the wayside. I'm post meno, so everything I eat makes a difference, it feels like!

I want to get back on it tomorrow, but I already worry i'll be defeated

I’m making good food choices today, my weekend was ok food-wise but it could’ve been better. I’ve had a lovely long walk today, really enjoyable. It’s the TOTM for me so I’ll be interested to see if I can loose weight or if I’ll plateau.

I have got my parents coming out to visit for a month, they arrive on Saturday. My mum is slim and active, she can’t sit still, my dad is also active and is in no way overweight. I’m hoping I can still eat healthily and continue to loose weight, but of course it’s easy to get into a holiday mindset. But if I continue on I know I’ll be happier in the long run! I know I won’t want to say ‘I’m on a diet’ but I’m sure I’ll be able to talk about Michael Mosley and his IF ideas. I don’t feel like I’m dieting anyway, I do strongly feel it’s a way of life. IF does allow flexibility. This is the first time I’ll have to explain it though because my husband doesn’t mind either way what I eat. I certainly don’t make a big deal out of it at home because I don’t want my daughters to take anything onboard about restricting anything.

Sorry for the essay!

Good luck everyone.

Happy Monday everyone.
Still teetering just over 16 stone but I will take that as I had a weekend that included a meal out, a fair bit of alcohol and more than my fair share of chocolate cake.
Going to try to get back to it today, definitely need to see 15 something on the scales soon.
Well done to everyone buying new clothes and feeling the physical benefits of losing the weight. Hope all the moms with tiddlies got plenty of sleep. Have a good one !

Hi everyone - joining today ... currently 95.8kg which is the heaviest I have been for a very very long time ... feeling totally shit about it - would love to lose 7lbs in November. My back is officially fucked and it's really hampered my exercise regime - no running which was my go to to get some calorie burn in .... so I really need to work on reducing my calorie intake. But of course I love all the food Smile

Morning, no exercise for me today, same weight as yesterday as I needed a bit more calories.
Dentist this afternoon, to plan out removing a big bridge and putting in implants. Feeling old and toothless!

Great timing for my situation. Lovely too see how you all encourage each other on here.

I have just weighed myself (have been avoiding for weeks) and am 11st 1lb . Am only 5ft 2 and it's all around my middle. My aim is 9stone. I lost 7lb over the summer and felt so much better even with just that amount. After a few months of pretty much eating what I want. So annoyed with myself!

My weakness is a few glasses of wine in the evening (which then creates the inevitable carb craving the next morning) . It's become far too habitual. I am a single parent and I have just got into the habit of breathing a huge sigh of relive when bedtimes and housework done and having that reward. I want to cut down on that too anyway so that's 2 reasons!

It affects everything doesn't it when you aren't the shape you want? . I took my 12 year old DD shopping at the weekend and dodged all mirrors and clothes for me. I just feel like slobbing around in jogging bottoms the whole time. I'm not ready to give up yet! Thanks for having me here.

Oh and I have my work Christmas party in 6 weeks. I refuse to buy 6 dresses this year again only to send them all back as I didn't like how I looked in any of them Confused. I'm aiming for 7lbs in November.

Morning Smile hello to new joiners, and it’s a whole new week!

Yesterday:
B: ham and eggs.
D: small portion of chicken pesto and cheese with veg. Small keto dessert.

All in all it’s going well and I’m sticking to what I should be eating (low carb, high fat). I’m noticing I feel better and looking slimmer, even though there’s still a way to go to be at pre-pregnancy weight. Have had some really nice compliments about looking well. My eating plus some good control pants mean I feel relatively good about my appearance Grin but definitely still need to lose the weight to get to a healthy weight for my height and fit into more of my clothes!

Missed a few posts as I typed incredibly slowly!

@7Worfs you seem to always have something on! Hope it all goes well with the dentist.

@Lemonsaretheonlyfruit I used to do something similar when the DCs were tiny (they’re not that big now but they’re at school so not tiny), DH has been ill for many years but went through a particularly bad patch when they were little so I was just tired from working and looking after them all. Anyway not wine, but once DCs were in bed, everything cleared etc I’d want a cup of tea a lots of chocolate. To me that equalled relaxation. When I first started looking at stuff to stop emotional eating (as that is very much me), that was a hard habit to break as it was how I relaxed. I tried different things at different times, like buffing my feet and moisturising, or doing my hands, doing a face mask (it was all skin related it seems!), and I expanded my tea collection and got into drinking lots of different types and occasionally had 90% cocoa chocolate when I was ‘desperate’. Eventually I got past that association, helped by not buying chocolate in the first place (takes some willpower) - reduced my carbs overall too which reduced the sugar craving. It was about making myself feel good all over, the chocolate gave me an initial happy/relaxed feeling but then after a bit I would feel like I was just piggy and regret it. But take it easy, when you have something that is how you relax it can take time to break the association and replace it with something else as you don’t want to make yourself feel miserable or stressed along the way.

Nice one, before
I’m 3kg away from pre-pregnancy weight, but at least a size and a half bigger.

Will start weightlifting at the 6mo mark, hopefully without the EMCS scar giving me problems.

Me please!

I have been on a spiral of eating badly and not exercising for too long. I now feel ready to tackle it properly so will join you all if that's ok.

I am weighing in at a v scary 14.6 . I have managed to put on 3 pounds just over half term. This is mostly down to too much socialising and then a very emotional weekend .
I have my cup a soups ready
I have brought my gym kit to work
I am drinking water.

I will read back over the thread for some inspiration.

And if anybody has some food healthy soup recipes I would really appreciate it.

Koko baguette, it's not what you do one day that matters but what you do continuously, day in day out.
Down to 12.1 this morning, really pleased with that. Had a belated Halloween party yesterday and indulged in pizza/crisps/cake etc but had skipped breakfast and had hardly anything for lunch in anticipation!

Honestly I feel like I've found an easy way, but that's because it really works for me! I do 16:8 and track calories on MFP but my main focus is on accepting that being hungry at times is normal and that it's not one-offs that make a difference but the consistent, long term changes.
So if I fancy breakfast one day because I'm particularly hungry, I'll have it and not worry about it. I still go out for meals out, I eat normal evening meals etc but I have completely cut out snacks in the evening and most days I don't eat breakfast. I don't eat low fat foods, I have plenty of olive oil, nuts, seeds, avocado, cheese etc. I try not to have too many carbs and instead eat more protein. I don't feel in the slightest bit deprived.

I have started using MFP today and have stayed on track other than not going to the gym. I forgot my water bottle (excuse no1)

I am going to cook an early dinner as one of my problems is not eating until 8pm which means I want to snack when I get in from work. Snacking is my biggest downfall , my meals are generally healthy but I eat far too much rubbish.

Favourite soups - I'm being lazy and adding links rather than typing out!

www.gousto.co.uk/cookbook/vegetarian-recipes/indian-spiced-carrot-lentil-soup
I have this one without the croutons

www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/french-onion-soup

Leek & potato.
2 leeks sliced, 400g potato peeled and cubed, 2 cloves garlic.
Soften the leeks in butter then add the potato cubes and garlic
Add a veg stock cube and 750ml water and cook for 15- 20 mins until the potatoes are soft. Blend.

I've got another recipe for a Butterbean and squash soup which is delicious but i can't find it at the moment.
