Following on from the previous monthly loss threads, here’s November’s thread. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates or maintaining. We need to create our own eating plan that is sustainable, enjoyable and provides all the nutrients we need to be healthy. It isn’t about extremes.

These threads are becoming quite holistic in nature and offer support to enable everyone to build & maintain emotional resilience and good mental health which undoubtedly underpins healthy eating habits and lifestyle. That said, we mustn’t forget we are human and with that comes fallibility ..... It’s at those times the support on these threads is second to none. The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

Thinking of everyone

Stay safe, DownUdderer

Well done to everyone who has maintained and lost

I'm still not doing well emotionally

Will come back when I'm less annoying.

fallfallfall · 12/11/2019 17:57

Down, I woke up to 4 inches of the white stuff. I’d mail some if I could.
I’m up .9, my fingers are swollen and my boobs itchy...self diagnosing as salt consumption no clue in what but obviously it’s added up.
I’ll pop a Hubbard squash in the oven and serve with pork chops and a salad. The calories will be fine the salt (pre seasoned chops) might still be high.
I’ll need to head away from the house to exercise.

fallfallfall · 12/11/2019 17:57

Sunshine your not annoying, your human and everyone has ups and downs.

Foreverlexicon · 12/11/2019 18:13

I’ve gotten back on the wagon now and had a decent day of 1550 cals.

Keep it up everyone!

DownUdderer · 12/11/2019 23:23

@SunshineCake you’re not annoying anyone. Share if you feel it could help.

We’re all safe in my area of Australia. The fires didn’t reach us, thank goodness. I’m very relieved. Thanks for the well wishes, it means a lot.

I’m extremely excited to share that I’m two pounds down and my jean shorts fit! I tried them on about ten days ago and I wasn’t anywhere near being able to do them up! I’ll add a photo, I’ve got a muffin top but never mind! I’m very happy.

@DownUdderer pleased to read you’re keeping safe! That was such a worrying situation. Well done on your weight loss progress. You look great!

@fallfallfall Snow 😮. I thought you were in Australia and visited UK earlier this year before returning down under. Have I got you mixed up.

@MrsJonesAndMe I’m ok thank you. A bit on in rl, but ok in myself.

I made a tasty lunch yesterday. Cauli rice, Heck chicken sausage (cut into little pieces & fried), chopped red pepper, chilli, fine green beans, I egg, soy sauce. I made a kind of cauli egg fried rice. Yummy it was. Might have same today Grin. Salmon for evening meal.

Sending warm wishes to all.

Hi 👋🏻 checking in with more good news. I’ve just been plodding along with WW and working nights and trying to eat well, sometimes failing at that but getting back up and keeping on trying. WW changed at the beginning of the week and I chose purple just to try it. Well I wasn’t feeling great and just ate what I fancied, went over my points but when I checked on mfp, the calories for my over-points day were 671 Shock Doesn’t feel right, but I’ll keep on for a fortnight like they suggest and just see what happens. Is anyone else doing WW? Any insights?

Weight this morning 8 st 7.8 and in even happier news my waist is 26 inches again and that is a win Grin

Galvantula · 13/11/2019 10:07

Morning all.

Weirdly half a kilo down since yesterday. 🤔 I am suspicious of this until I have a few more weigh ins though!

I did have a bit of a plateau, maybe losing a bit of bloat after TOTM.

I did half an hour of fast walking after I dropped off the kids. -2 here so I had to wrap up! 🥶🥶

MrsJonesAndMe · 13/11/2019 13:12

Morning, I'm still here, but yesterday was a write off!

Today more normal in terms of activities, stress and food.

@SunshineCake take a break by all means if you feel it will benefit you, otherwise keep posting We are happy to listen/commiserate though I know that some of your issues (luckily) I have no experience of...others may do. Sending you a (((hug))) regardless.

Well done to all the losers Wink Great picture @DownUdderer

Keep on keeping on @BustedDreams

buzzofthebumblebee · 13/11/2019 13:15

Well done on the losses. I can't report the same here though. Daren't even get on the scales Blush. Also having a tough time emotionally. Think I may be through the worst and eaten everything in the process but probably back to square one weight wise. Onwards and upwards.

Can I just say, I had to look very hard to find the muffin top you mentioned @DownUdderer !!Great you are back in your shorts.

SunshineCake · 13/11/2019 16:22

Hello everyone

fallfallfall please send some snow my way. I love snow! We often get snowed in and my dog loves it. Thank you for the kind message.

DownUdderer great picture and brilliant achievement.

BustedDreams hope real life isn't too much?

MrsJones thank you. I may chat more. Just feeling poorly at the moment so can't really deal with the emotional stuff at the moment.

Weight wise I was 1.8lb then 3.4 and now I'm 2.2.

fallfallfall · 13/11/2019 18:26

Hello, as suspected salt and weight 153 today.
Busted, I’m in Canada and indeed visit my DD as much as I can.
Sunshine, yes the pups love romping in the stuff.
Yesterday dh and I went to the indoor track and with a long stride and fast pace I got my 10,000 steps in. Plus 5 minutes on the rowing machine.
Positive thoughts everyone.
Market day today and honey to sell!

Mungomango · 14/11/2019 01:27

@buzzofthebumblebee hope all is ok with you. I'm a bit scared to get on the scales too at the moment, eek! I might have a few days of healthy eating before I do!

@SunshineCake as everyone else said we're here for you if you do want to chat ((hugs))

Wow snow in Canada, is that early, or is that normal?? We're coming into summer here in NZ so getting nice and warm.

@DownUdderer I'm struggling to see the muffin top too! Well done you look great.

We've finally got through the last of the birthday cake here. It's been quite hard having it lying around! I put on a bit of weight last week and I think it's because I had wine most nights.. not loads, just two small (French style) glasses, but I think that's enough to tip me off over my calorie limit. Pretty gutted as I love my wine, but think I'm at that age now (mid 40s) where I can't drink like I used to! Anyone else find that?

On the plus side, I had Zumba today which was so much fun! I'm going to try for a run or a youtube workout tomorrow morning. Keep on keeping on everyone, nearly halfway through the month!!

DownUdderer · 14/11/2019 02:57

You’re all so kind! I really had a spring in my step all day yesterday with my shorts on! Today I’ve been looking at my gym leggings and I think they are the tiniest bit baggy now! They are a medium. I honestly never felt fat before, even though I had a bmi that was obese. I was in denial and I wore dresses every single day. I really took my eye off my weight. But I’m certainly extremely glad that I’ve lost two stone. I lifted my foot up today to apply sun cream and I placed it on the kitchen cabinet (it was a clean foot fresh from the shower!) and I leaned over my body to rub the cream in. I haven’t done that in so long I can’t even remember! My belly really used to get in the way.

I honestly would never have stuck to my eating plan without the accountability that MN gives me!

Good wishes to everyone, good luck and I hope no one gets flooded.

fallfallfall · 14/11/2019 03:08

Mungo, except for Vancouver/Victoria snow isn’t unusual this time of year. Everyone hopes there isn’t any before Halloween and the kids trick or treating. But it’s about 50/50 if there’s snow by Remembrance Day. Last year was Nov 27th for us.
I got my steps in, made good breaky and lunch choices. DH made grill cheese and sauerkraut sandwiches for supper.
I met with OT, my hand is healing very well.

MrsJonesAndMe · 14/11/2019 12:59

Hi all

I've done my WI and I'm still at 26 1/2lbs down, so not really losing or gaining which is OK by me. Wondering when you know when to start thinking maintenance rather than loss???

Keep it up with all the exercise and good choice. Got soup bubbling away at the moment - butternut squash, love it!

x

SunshineCake · 14/11/2019 15:20

Butternut squash soup sounds lovely. I haven't made any for a while so should really, MrsJones.

I have made Parkin and roasted a chicken. I've been confined to barracks as my car went in for a service and then Dh has had to pay for another £400 of work on top of what I'd paid already and I still have no clue when I will get it back. My steps will be up though as I have to walk half an hour back to get it having already done it h'me, round the shop on the way and then walking the dog for an hour. Might take her out for a little pootle before it gets too dark.

Feeling a bit lost today but wondering if it is just normal response after yesterday's therapy.

No weight loss but I'm okay with that. It will come. Hopefully.

Galvantula · 14/11/2019 23:34

Still sub 60kgb this morning. Must maintain...

Not great food choices today - DS2 wanted to learn to cook a particular dessert.. It was too good to resist Blush and I had to go with the cooking enthusiasm 😅

Then we had wine 🙈

Steps were rubbish today so I compensated with Wii Fit jogging and yoga.

fallfallfall · 15/11/2019 01:57

well done down under!! getting the zip and button up :)

DownUdderer · 15/11/2019 03:13

I’ve had a long hike today. It’s hot here and plenty of smoke, but no nearby fires.

My food seems pretty good. I bought a new dress in a smaller size and I think it looks pretty good! It’s a loose fitting dress by the design.

I hope everyone is doing well. I’ve noticed a couple of people have stopped writing, hopefully you are still reading!

fallfallfall · 15/11/2019 04:09

I went to the university indoor track, got my 10,000 steps and even did 10 minutes on the rowing machine. I loved watching the people. All types; a gent with his oxygen bottle, two classic gym bunnies in amazing shape, a ladies volleyball team, a men’s basketball team (not any taller than the ladies...) two moms with strollers. An amazing space. Now if my food choices pan out I’m doing okay.

BustedDreams · 15/11/2019 08:04

Hi

I’ve just noticed yesterday’s post didn’t post.

@MikeHannigansStripyShirt I’ve never done a ‘formal’ diet plan such as WW. Did you mean your calorie intake for that day was 671. Or that was extra eaten over your allowance? If it was for the day what foods/quantities did you eat. (Fingers crossed you’ve found the holy grail of weight loss Grin)

You all seem to be doing great! Already we are half way through November.

On a side note, anyone seen the Christmas John Lewis add. Quite lovely ❤️.
