Oooh well done 😁 I used to have quite a collection of those magnets Grin
I went for a run today Shock First one for months - just feeling better I guess.
Breakfast: coffee
Early lunch: 2 egg omelette with cheese and quorn ham
Dinner: baked spud with beans
Snacks (oh dear) one brioche, 2 biscuits, 40g peanuts, one crumpet with butter.
Insanely, even with all that crap on board, because of my run, MFP says I have 350cals left Hmm

I fully expect My Fitness Pal to be giving me a hard time over the lack of calories today Wink

That’s great Tree weight going in the right direction and planning the days meals ahead is important.

TreesSandSea · 01/11/2019 07:31

Morning all, still here - how you all doing?
No weighing this morning as I am travelling again but did fall headfirst into some Halloween stuff last night. Didn’t go over cals though....
Keep on keeping on everyone!

I had a difficult day yesterday. I went out for a curry with family on Wed eve and had a glass of wine alongside 1/2 naan, 1/2 popadom and a rich curry. I didn’t enjoy any of the food (chose something different and v disappointing for my first “night off” in 6 weeks) or the wine. The next day I felt absolutely shocking - not sure if it was the alcohol or the carbs - probably both. Also had some v shocking family news yesterday - so went off out the have coffee and cake to commiserate and then a crunchie in the evening.....both of which made me feel physically better (comforted?).

So physically feeling better today and back on it - need disciple that the sad emotional news won’t send me into a comfort binge - because that would make me even more unhappy.

I don’t have scales to weight myself - just once a week on Weds at SW. So only 5 days this week to turn it around. Might be worth getting some scales for home so that I can accurately see progress or the extent of the damage through the week rather than going off at a tangent in my head (obviously negatively). All of the studies now show that weighing yourself everyday keeps you in track.

Still doing 16:8, could do with moving more. Everyday at 11/12 I have 2 scrambled eggs with salad, mush, toms, roasted peppers and a slice of grilled haloumi - don’t need to eat until 6 then as this is so filling - so really on 2 meals a day.

Lost 4.5lb this week. Very pleased. Doing the Paul McKenna thing along with No S. I can actually see this working long term. Fingers crossed!

Innishh · 01/11/2019 14:56

Wow that’s amazing Free almost 1/2 in total - you must be delighted. I like the sound of No S - had to look it up. What is the Paul McK process - do you have an app / website you can link to?

FreeBedForFlys · 01/11/2019 17:16

I got the book on Kindle and there’s a link in that to his hypnosis audio guide.

The book has some impressive testimonials and before/after pics and explains the 4 golden rules in detail but what it boils down to is:

  1. If you’re hungry EAT! But you have to be properly hungry - about a 5/6 on the hunger scale. Not ravenous - but make sure it’s proper hunger not just boredom etc!
  1. Eat what you want, not what you think you should.
  1. Eat slowly, chew everything thoroughly and really taste, savour and enjoy each mouthful. Pause and put your knife and fork down between bites. DO NOT watch TV/look at your phone while eating; you’ll end up taking big mouthfuls and gobbling the food without chewing or tasting it properly. Listen to your body and....
  1. Stop eating when you begin to feel satisfied. Don’t wait til you’re stuffed - stop when you aren’t hungry anymore. If in doubt stop but if you’re still hungry a little later - properly hungry - eat!

It’s actually been very easy so far.

MillieMoodle · 02/11/2019 07:44

I still haven't caught up on everyone's posts but I will do later on.

Home from holiday now and weighed myself this morning and am back to 12st 7lbs. Not entirely unexpected as although I I didn't eat loads of junk on holiday, I did drink more than usual. Back to the diet from today, I've still got time to lose a stone before Christmas, right?!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Innishh · 02/11/2019 09:48

Thanks Free - that approach terrifies me! Can’t trust myself just yet.....but might well try it on top of all of other new good habits.

Millie 1st for Xmas is doable. 53days, 7.5 weeks - so working v hard and being focused to shift 2lb each and every well would have us just hitting the finish line.

Thanks for that new goal - that would get me down to the v early 11’s which is a number I haven’t seen for a long time.....which could mean I could even be looking at getting into the 10s in the new year.

So I am up for that challenge. I am going to stick with what has been working for me to date - zero wine, zero pasta, bread, rice (replaces with protein, healthy fats, and veggies), one treat once a week (work in progress!), 16:8, walking 10k steps (again need to focus on this, will join the gym to do weights.

I have a couple of other milestones along the way to the next stone which will help get thru the next 7 weeks -
getting under 12st,
getting BMI out of “obese zone” and into “overweight zone”,
2 stone total loss when I hit 11st 7 (probably 10lbs from now)

I would be delighted to have got down to the early 11’s by Xmas day.

So it’s just one day at a time.

Yesterday was a good day - got back on track - need to ensure next 4 days are also on track given my wobble earlier in the week otherwise I will not have lost when I weigh in on Wed.....

So a v tight schedule for the Xmas stone - I just had a visual image that the stone loss is the size of a big fat turkey!

MillieMoodle · 02/11/2019 13:59

I've caught up now.

@Innishh I'm so sorry to hear that you have had some sad and shocking news this week. I hope you are ok.

I have got half a bottle of wine to drink before I go back to work on Monday, so will probably have a glass tonight and a glass tomorrow night. No chocolate or crisps in the house so I will aim to keep it that way! Just need to up my fruit and veggie intake and also I want to cut out caffeine. I cut caffeine out for a couple of years and had so much more energy than I do at the moment. 53 days til Christmas, eek!

FreeBedForFlys · 03/11/2019 15:27

@Innishh yes it terrified me to start with. I still don’t entirely trust it; by which I mean I can’t quite believe it’s so easy.

For instance yesterday I had a late breakfast at about 11. One slice of toast and 2 scrambled eggs. Fully expected therefore to have a late lunch at about 3 - figured I’d be hungry by then.

Never happened. Sure I was mildly peckish and could easily have eaten but I was waiting to hit a 6 on the hunger scale and I just didn’t.

So I ended up waiting til dinner at 7. Did all the right things - ate slowly and stopped when I was satisfied but in fact probably could have stopped a few bites sooner because when I got up and started washing up I actually felt very slightly over full.

I’m loving it because the “OMG what if I get hungry!!!” panic isn’t there. I know if I’m hungry I can eat.

Similarly, the “OMG I can't have xyz therefore I immediately want xyz right now” panic isn’t there either.

I actually broke the rule last night and had a little bit of pudding; but whereas usually I’d have stuffed a big bowl (after already having stuffed a large dinner) and then felt really uncomfortable/sick, I had literally four spoonsful, savoured every one slowly and that was plenty.

MillieMoodle · 03/11/2019 18:03

@FreeBedForFlys one thing I really need to work on is not bolting food and actually taking my time to eat it instead of eating as fast as possible.

Not a bad day here, have been out and bought food for lunches for the week as I am back to work tomorrow (after a lovely week off!). Much better choices with some fruit and veg involved, so I am feeling positive.

Out to the cinema tonight with a friend and I bought some little bags of popcorn which are only 63 cals per pack. Will take one tonight and the rest to work in case I fancy something sweet.

I need to try cutting out bread/pasta but don't know what to have instead to fill me up. Any ideas?

FreeBedForFlys · 04/11/2019 00:26

I’ve had a small serving of popcorn this evening 😁

Less than 100 cals but again, ate each bit individually so it took me ages and I didn’t need any more. Usually I literally cram it in by the handful and can get through a large bag in minutes 😳

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 04/11/2019 07:07

Morning. After a two week stall, I’ve finally dropped a pound and a half this week. Cut out some carbs, was overdoing them. Hope everyone else sees some movement!

Howlongtillbedtime · 04/11/2019 08:05

Morning all

I am back and ready! This last week has been full of socialising and lots of emotion so I have managed to put on 3 bloody pounds .
However I braved the scales rather than ignoring them and I am back to work today and going to take my gym bag and get on the treadmill on way home.
For me exercise is definitely key.
I feel more positive if I do it
I eat better
I like myself more
No brainer really so why have I not been doing it ????
So starting again at 14.6 which is horrible but I know what I need to do and I am just going to get on with it.
Great to see how everyone else is doing , I am going to have a proper read now.
Good luck to everyone this monday !

MillieMoodle · 04/11/2019 13:07

Still 12st 7lbs here so back to starting weight annoyingly. My own fault though.

I ate a medium bag of cinema popcorn last night instead of my little healthier bag. Never mind. Today is a new day!

Back to work after a lovely week off and not the best of days so far. Hopefully this afternoon will be better. Hope everyone is having a good Monday!

Chocolatecake12 · 04/11/2019 17:57

Is it awful to read about others who keep falling off the wagon and feel pleased? I mean to say that I’m in good company and not the only one who isn’t doing great. Not that I’m pleased others aren’t doing well.
Anyway, today is a new day and I’m doing really well - like every other Monday! I declined the cake at work today and am planning a healthy dinner of Mexican rice and veg with chicken.
I need to be extra good this week until Sunday when I’m going out for afternoon tea!
I’m planning on reading this thread daily to inspire me.

Howlongtillbedtime · 04/11/2019 19:02

chocolate Its not awful at all. Normally I would have just given up and not come back but the truth is , if we found losing weight we wouldn't be here!

I know i will slip but this time i am not going to give up. I have stuck to cals today and that is good enough for now .

Good luck.

FreeBedForFlys · 04/11/2019 20:32

I turned down sticky toffee pudding this evening. Sticky. Toffee. Motherfucking PUDDING.

Extraordinary.

Howlongtillbedtime · 04/11/2019 21:06

That is truly extraordinary !

Well done you , now go to bed before you give in to something else as a reward for being so marvellous Grin

TreesSandSea · 04/11/2019 21:35

Hi all
So nice to see you guys all here!
14 st 11 still this morning. Struggling with a horrible cold and stiff joints so just doing my best! Well done to all of you hanging in there still. I still have a loooong way to go to a stone off for Christmas! I went for a couple of runs this week which was good, but giving it a rest while my arthritis is flaring up!

Howlongtillbedtime · 05/11/2019 18:11

Hows everyone doing ?

I have had a good day and I am now cooking soup to take into work for lunches.

Day 2 nearly done !

Hope everyone else is having a good day.

FreeBedForFlys · 06/11/2019 00:09

I’m doing really well. After the first week it’s much easier to say no to cakes and biscuits etc. I know I’m the PMcK plan they’re not actually forbidden but I’m trying to lose my sweet tooth.

Eating slowly is definitely working. I can fool myself into thinking I’ve eaten far more than I have if I eat slowly. Whereas before, I could inhale 4 slices of toast and still want more 😳
