Desperately need to lose this weight. I can't use the excuse of I've just had a baby because DS will 5 in November!! 4 years ago I only needed to lose 1.5 stone, now it's 2.5. Would like to do something along the lines of low fat/low calorie diet, with exercise 3 or 4 times per week, but really do need a bit of support, as I tend to weaken very easily....

Would anyone like to join me, with a weekly weigh-in, day to day support etc?

Yes, it's true, I went to McDonald's and had fillet o'fish. it's no excuse but what can I say? Anyway, I went for a walk and visited my local shop. I bought strawberries, apples, prunes in juice, dried prunes and apricotes. Now I can eat this stuff when I'm hungry. I've already had an apple and I still feel hungry but I'm not giving up and I hope none of us will. I promise I'll try my best.

luckylady74 · 13/08/2007 18:04

hello - i'd like to join too please! i was 14 st4 and am now 12 8 (5ft 10) with cambridge diet, but i was so miserable so i want to get to 11 stone and my old jeans in a happier way!
done well today - lots of fruit and salad, salmon for tea and no bread! going on bike ride tonight unless raining!
good luck everyone - i'll need to think of you all when dh has his beer and crisps tonight!

Our stomachs will need to 'shrink' and expect less or at least less fatty and bulky food for a couple of days, I reckon.

I always find that the I feel starving for a couple of days, even if I'm eating enough veg etc, I've even gone to bed earlier to stop thinking about eating. After a few days your stomach adjusts.

slayerette · 13/08/2007 18:16

Well done luckylady! It is all about the right mindset. Just didn't pinch a chip of ds's plate and had a handful of almonds instead - they're fatty but healthy, so I'm going to rely on nuts and seeds, not to mention the trusty drid apricot which I love. God, I really hope I can do it this time. I'm so tired of hating myself!

Donk · 13/08/2007 18:48

Fimble - what cereal did you eat? I find that the only thing that doesn't leave me starving way before my next meal is a muesli based on oats - with a few raisins and some seeds, plus a banana chopped onto it and some fruit juice (since I hate milk)

Thunderpants · 13/08/2007 19:12

slayerette - are you sure you're not me? Practically same weight, DS is 4.... and I hate myself too. I'm really hoping that the support we give one another on here is going to help us through.

Made lovely curry tonight (fussy non-curry eating kids had pasta) with veg and two small spuds, with brown rice and fresh coriander. Yum! Melon for pudding. Now just have to survive until I go to bed. May go and walk round the garden for half an hour as I haven't walked my planned 10,000 steps yet. Keep on the wagon everyone

Bubble99..i want to try the fish, but am not a big fish eater(apart from wrapped in batter served with chips and lots of vinegar!)..its all the derssings when youre away isnt it and icecreams/quick burger and chips etc!...although in majorcas last year i was sick of the sight of food and resorted to alpen for brekky(while everyone was having full english) and omlettes for lunch..so will see what its like when we get there..plus dont drink much alcahol so apart from odd night, ill be ok there!

PinkChick · 13/08/2007 20:28

oh and today have had branflakes with S.S milk for brekky, same for lucnh followed by noodles as i was starving, then two jacket spuds with bit of cheese and beans for dinner.nowt else..nada..zip.....so am very with myself...dp jsut came home and said he is also starving himslef this week in last ditch effort to shift few pounds..what are we like

Bubble99 · 13/08/2007 20:30

Alcohol is the thing that really piles it on for me. I wouldn't worry too much while you're away, eating is the best part of a holiday, so enjoy it.

fedda · 13/08/2007 21:06

My problem is I often have stomack upset if I eat more fruit and veg. Even cereal can get me into this stage.

Lizzzombie · 14/08/2007 08:09

Good morning everyone.
Hope you all managed to get through yesterday ok.
I went to the supermarket to buy 'treats' to inspire me.
2 finger dark kitkats are 106 calories each and jaffa cakes are only 45 calories each.
I'm not that into calorie counting, but I do have a sweet tooth, so 2 jaffa cakes a day (one with morning coffee and one with afternoon cuppa) and I am sorted!
I managed to resist my lunchtime bag of crisps yesterday. (this is a big thing for me!)

PinkChick · 14/08/2007 08:16

well i was prud of myself yesterday and got on scales this morning(get weighed tues from other thread) and i am at my lowest..lost about 2lb from last week..so if i can keep it up this week i may get below x stone and down to conquring my next stone

Lizzzombie · 14/08/2007 08:17

fab!
2lbs a week is the recommended perfect weekly weight loss. Well done pinkchick!

PinkChick · 14/08/2007 08:29

thanks..im hoping to be under this stone im at now by friday as sat we go away..fingers crossed and mouth taped shut

Whimsy · 14/08/2007 08:32

Well done PinkChick

I think I did ok yesterday, didn't have anything naughty but by 6:30pm I was moaning that I was hungry. It will be worth it, well that's what I keep telling myself

PinkChick · 14/08/2007 08:39

thanks..i find if i go by slimming world and have mainly green days i am so stuffed, im not hungry..thats my prob, i dont eat much, not proper meals then eat fast/junk food as im starving..might do same today as love potatos and noodles and pasta..got 4 girls today(coming about 9.30) so may do big dish of pasta and see if theyll eat it too!?
ooh. also my swet tooth is curbed my bowl of porridge oats, made with semi skimmed milk and sprinkle canderel on top..very sweet

totaleclipse · 14/08/2007 08:41

Well yesterday started off really well, had 2 bowls of cereal all day, and some fruit, but dinner time came and when dh suggested a chines a could'nt resist.........whoops.

PinkChick · 14/08/2007 08:42

ooh, i wouldnt have either..i feel sick a bit now though, dont fancy breakfast, so will do that pasta and if i need a snakc mid morning, ill have that!

Leander · 14/08/2007 09:50

Everyone is doing well even with the little blips, we have all made an effort which is the main thing,I dont think you will suceed if you deny yourself everything.I done ok yesterday but i did have a packet of crisp after lunch but it is better than 3 or 4 pkts which i could easily have had.I had spag bol for tea on a small plate so it looked like i had loads and a pint of water.i didn't have anything else after that which amazed me but i was starving but it passed eventually.
This morning i have had muesli with skimmed milk and a cup of coffee and i am quite full, not sure what to make for lunch yet so any ideas would be great.I am trying not to eat bread because i eat far too much of it.

LucyJones · 14/08/2007 09:56

well I went out last night and was good and had a jacket potato and salad. But drank too much and hardly slept last night because of the dcs so today really want junk to keep me going.
Will try and be good though to make up for yesterday.
Started off well with muesli, semi skimmed milk and a nectarine for brekkie.
Good luck to everyone today It helps knowing you are all in the same boat xxx

tiredemma · 14/08/2007 09:57

Good Luck everyone.

I joined slimming world a few months ago. Have steadily lost 1.5 stone.

I look and feel great- its amazing to slide into my old jeans!

Leander · 14/08/2007 10:00

well done tiredmama, when i lost a stone last year i felt great and everyone commenting on how well i lookedmade me feel amazing.I have pit all that back on and more but i will lose it i am determined.

LucyJones · 14/08/2007 10:02

yes, the trouble with losing in the past and then putting it back on is you remember people said how good you looked so can only assume they think you look awful now - or is that just me

tiredemma · 14/08/2007 10:04

im determined not to put it back on.

I have found the foods that I like now- the ones that keep the weight off.

My main downfall was chocolate- not botherered at all now ( perhaps a small bar at the weekend)

fedda · 14/08/2007 10:05

Hi, I woke up at 7 am and so far i had prunes in juice, some strauberries and dried apricotes. I feel a bit lighter today.
