Link to previous thread here: Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3652424-half-a-stone-or-3kg-off-for-august

Morning all! Welcome to the half a stone loss challenge for September. All are welcome whatever plan or method you are following. I'm mainly following ww online with some intermittent fasting thrown in for good measure!

All I ask is that we continue the uplifting positivity and support seen on previous threads! We cheerlead each other, celebrate success and support through the harder times.

We had a great month in August with lots of losses. I don't know about you lot but the longer this goes on the more it feels like a way of life for me now rather than "being on a diet"?

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 19st 13
Loss for August: 14lbs
Loss for 2019: 5 st 3lbs
Target for September: 10lbs off

Ready for September??

❤️❤️

Wow, 7 pages already!
I briefly joined in June, was doing really well and loving reading everyone's progress then got pregnant so stopped. Unfortunately had a long drawn out miscarriage, leading to anaemia, but not before I gained the stone I had lost. Finally feeling physically up to dieting, the running will have to wait a couple of weeks still I think.
Starting weight - 11 stone 6.8
Sept Aim - get under 11 stone by end of Sept
End Goal - 9 st 7lbs
Loved the positivity on last thread I was on. Looking forward to losing lbs with you all!

@lightlypoached that's huge, can't believe am lugging round 28 more of those than I want! Really puts it into perspective.

@WoollyFoolly Thank you I’ll try that! I’ve not exercised for years! Chronic pain condition and related meds has mean I’ve ballooned and put on 6 stone in 4 years. Enough is enough now and time to get it off!

Hey everyone,
Can I join?

Have been bimbling up and down the same 4 or 5 lbs for about 18 months and would love to finally get it sorted.
I'm tall so am not too far from a healthy bmi. I do feel like I just look "large" at the minute though.

Am going to go for healthy choices, ++ fruit and veg -- snacks and carbs.

I already don't drink much but I will be having a few work shindigs that drinking is unavoidable for.

Current weight: 13.5 stone
Target weight 12.7 stone
Target September: get out of the 13s!

Right, food diary today (many thanks to this thread - or the prospect of this thread - for meaning I didn't gorge too much on doughnuts)

B: overnight oats with blueberries.
L: salmon with roasted veg and dhal. One Krispy Kreme glazed doughnut.
S: avocado and salmon sushi, 2 jaffa cakes.

Snack: apple with half tsp of almond butter. Drinks: black coffee and water.

I keep my 'mains' portions small and healthy so I can have something sweet after lunch and dinner as you see. Keeps me motivated!

No food after 6.30pm. No alcohol. Lots of water. Pilates or yoga 3 times a week, walking for at least an hour 2 times a week.

Hi,

I'd like to join. Have put on over half a stone this year through work being so busy that I haven't exercised and then making bad food choices.

My plan is to exercise more and trying to make better food choices with a bit of 16:8 and MFP thrown in.

I will weigh myself tomorrow and am aiming to go for a run at 6.30 in the morning as a kick off. I'm back to work on Thursday after 5 weeks off, so like other people I am hoping I will be more disciplined with a routine!

Evening all.

B: 2 x weetabix in hot water
L: 2 x boiled eggs, 2 x slices of bread, 1 low sugar rock cake
D: homemade burritos, I made them vegetarian. They were marvellously filling

I didn't manage 10k steps. But hopefully tomorrow I will.

Food diary is a good plan! Today I had:
Pret egg and avocado baguette
Egg mayo sandwich (didn’t even clock until now that was two meals with egg!)
Nuts and dried fruit
Banana
Pasta with pesto, mushrooms and asparagus with salad

That comes to about 1,300 calories. I cut pasta portion to 50g and it feels enough. I still have some spare calories because I have been for a run so might have a yoghurt for pudding, or more fruit

Wow, if only I could bottle my motivation from today and save it for the difficult days. Ate really well all day, making healthy choices and then headed out for an exercise class at 7.30. Had a really productive day getting jobs done too.
Hope everyone else had a good one.

Good first day so far.
Stuck to 1300 calories tracked on MFP
Spent 20 mins on the cross trainer plus did a 10 min workout on an app I’ve downloaded.

Feeling sore and achy now but proud of myself also.

A long way from perfect today, but better than I have been recently. Ended up having a portion of (homemade banana sponge) pudding after dinner which was leftover from Sunday lunch, so feel bloated now. Not optimistic about standing on the scales in the morning!

Crazzzycat · 02/09/2019 23:29

I felt absolutely starving all day today, but stayed strong and managed to come in just above target.

I had spicy bean wrap for lunch and tofu stir fry for dinner. Snacks were two satsumas, a handful of almonds and a lentil cake with hummus and quorn ham 😋

Did oodles of walking today (partly thanks to googlemaps being appalling), plus yoga and some (very) light weights. Food was ok - porridge, an unimpressive salad n stuff for lunch and soup for dinner. Both lunch and dinner with bread.

Some good will power being shown by people today! And hello to new joiners too 😊

I am joining please. I have been doing 5:2 since last October and have lost a total of 2 stone but have been maintaining for a while now.

Plan is to loose a stone by Christmas so minimum of 4lbs in September required although more or quicker weight loss would be great.

I weigh in on Wednesdays so last week
12st2
BMI 24.6

Feeling motivated by everyone’s positive attitude on this thread.

Morning! Up early so I can fit in a run before STBXH runs - he leaves at 7am so we both need to have run and be back well before then. TBH I'm a lark anyway, so i'm usually up by 5:15, but it's very dark and 4:30 feels a little bit like getting up in the middle of the night! Going to try to squeeze in some strength training today too - wondering about downloading one of those plank or press up apps to work on for a few minutes each day. My legs are strong but my core and upper body are terrible.

I knew I was super bloated yesterday, but I'm really pleased with this morning's weigh in of 66.9kg - 0.9kg down on my 1st Sept weigh in! I know it's a 'fake' loss in a way as I was so incredibly bloated on the 1st/2nd, but it's a lovely kick start to the month. Only 3.1kg to go until my goal for the month.

1st Sept weight: 67.8kg
Today's weight: 66.9kg
September goal weight: 63.8kg

I find that once I start losing, I do find it much easier to stick to my fasting and healthy eating plan, as I can see the results happening. Determined to keep on it today and keep seeing a loss.

Working towards my non-scale goals, I managed 16k steps yesterday, and I bought some kefir and sauerkraut in an effort to work on my gut health.

Today's food plan:

  • Resist the pancakes I'm making for the DC as a last day of holiday treat!
  • 12pm turmeric latte
  • 2pm apple breakfast bowl
  • 4pm unhealthy (but small!) snack - basically I have a load of baking to do for packed lunches, and I know I'll end up snacking on something fresh out of the oven, or licking the mixing bowl!
  • 5:30pm biriyani made with leftover roast lamb, plus loads of spinach and any other veg I can squeeze in there.
  • 6pm close the kitchen (earlier than yesterday's 7pm). I need to pop out at 6pm so that will mark a convenient time to shut my mouth for the day.

Crivit well done on all the walking! I find it such a powerful weight loss tool if I consistently keep my step count high (10-15k per day or more).

Crazzycat bean wrap sounds yum!

Millie2017 that sounds like a great day, well done! I love days like that, they really help you get into good habits.

Not a great day yesterday-was our in London with the dd's and didn't make great food choices. Back on it today. Did do a lot of walking though so yesterday not a total write off.

@Millie2017 the lunch looks good and sounds like you had a great day! Hope it's connected!

@Jeds55 I'm so sorry for your loss.

I liked the pic of the fat, thank you! Bad start today- 10.1.8. I know is partly I was "artificially" low before as dehydrated ,and partly I had t gave a late dinner last night, but also I went stupid yesterday - big lunch, hefty snack before my evening class (attempt to not be starving after!) and was still starving after and ate planned dinner plus massive bowl of cereal plus ice cream! Total self sabotage. Any tips on avoiding this- it happens quite often on thr days when I have an evening class (education not exercise) and have to be out the house 5pm till 830ish. It wrecks my 16:8 too, as I come home tired and hungry and possibly a bit negative as have had no downtime. Should really eat before but 430 is just too early. Is there anything obvious I'm missing?
