Link to previous thread here: Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3652424-half-a-stone-or-3kg-off-for-august

Morning all! Welcome to the half a stone loss challenge for September. All are welcome whatever plan or method you are following. I'm mainly following ww online with some intermittent fasting thrown in for good measure!

All I ask is that we continue the uplifting positivity and support seen on previous threads! We cheerlead each other, celebrate success and support through the harder times.

We had a great month in August with lots of losses. I don't know about you lot but the longer this goes on the more it feels like a way of life for me now rather than "being on a diet"?

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 19st 13
Loss for August: 14lbs
Loss for 2019: 5 st 3lbs
Target for September: 10lbs off

Ready for September??

❤️❤️

I’m in!

Overall goal is to lose 2 and a half stone..... but I have been wanting to and failing to do it for ages!

Mindless comfort eating is my downfall when tired or stressed and increased evening wine intake is certainly not helping!

Target for this month 7lb..... hopefully a bit more!

Have successfully done WW in the past and all set up in MFP..... just need to find some bloody will power!!!!

May I just post this picture to help motivate us all. 1 pound seems so small until you see it like this. Shock

I'm in. Joined a previous thread but didn't keep it up, and actually managed to put on more weight instead. Have had a very over-indulgent summer, so it's time to get back on it - DH is joining me as well, which should help.

Plan is to watch calories and eat lower carb (if for no other reason than it helps keep the calories down). And no wine for September, as that's my biggest downfall.

Starting weight 11st 9.5lbs (the heaviest I've ever been Blush)
Target 10st

Meal plan for today is a halloumi salad for lunch, and turkey chilli with cauliflower rice for tea. No snacks as it's a slippery slope for me.

Good luck to everyone - some amazing results in the last thread so fingers crossed!

Ugh, had the courage to weigh myself this morning and I'm 11 1/2 stone, the heaviest I've ever been. I fell at the end of July and broke a bone in my foot, so the lack of exercise plus comfort eating of crisps and chocolate have taken their toll.

I've got on well with 5-2 in the past, so I will restart that, plus lower my carb and alcohol intake. I'll have a think about meal planning for this week.

Ok so officially starting my weight loss goal today!

Start weight - 15 stone 11 pounds
Goal weight - 10 stone
Goal weight for September - 15 stone

Planning on using my fitness pal to track calories and start a daily exercise regime. Any recommendations on what people have found helpful but not too taxing when you’re very unfit?

I’m checking in with my stats. I’m 79.3 kg today, which is 3 kg more than I weighed 6 weeks ago 😳.

I don’t even know how I managed to gain that weight, as I haven’t been going THAT crazy over the last few weeks. I’m planning not to dwell on it too much though. My motto for my weightloss journey this year has been that it doesn’t matter where I am now. All that matters is what I’m going to do about it 👊

So, my plan for today is spicy bean wraps for lunch and tofu satay stir fry for dinner. There may be some healthy snacks too, but I won’t commit to any of that until I’ve worked out how many calories there are in that stir fry.

Imagine I am VERY unfit due to a chronic illness which has made me unable to do any exercise for several years. I've been doing the Betty Rocker 30 day challenge (day 25 today!) and have really enjoyed it. There's only been one day I have been totally unable to do, every other day she gives you lots of modifications so you do what you can. It's 15 minutes a day, which sounds so little but it really adds up - she says on day 10 I think, just think you've done 150 minutes of exercise in a week and a half. It's free to sign up and you get the daily workout emailed to you.

Went to the gym this morning for the first time all summer holidays! Really impressed that my weights/resistance hadn't changed (thought I'd have got really weak!) and had lost 2lb fat. So Go Me!

Weight lost so far: 1st 4lb
Current weight: 11st 3lb
Goal weight: 10st
Target loss for September: 7lb

Already drunk a litre of water and had a roasted red pepper, red onion and mushroom omelette for brunch today.

Gym twice a week for weigh ins and token exercise.

I'm not really 'trying' to lose weight in that I'm restricting myself on anything. I'm just being mindful about making better choices rather than 'going on a diet' with the intention of having better habits so the weight doesn't go back on. I lost the first 1st 4lb without really trying over about 18 months - just by drinking less and not eating mindlessly. Wasn't hard at all.

7lb for September is a fairly conservative weight loss. If it ends up being a bit more, far enough, a bit less, that's ok too. It's more about moving in the right direction for me.

@Tanaqui following your thoughts on my lunches in August, I’m going to retain the beef slices and switch the bread for salad this week. Trying to reduce the carbs and wheat I’m having and bump up my healthy choices.

I’ve started to brew my own kombucha! Hopefully I’ll heal my gut and it will help with the weight loss!

Also started to bake sourdough and started to dabble in cheese making. My thoughts are that I will eat Whole Foods with no preservatives or additives ☺️

I’m quite surprised just how many of us are intermittent fasting!

Now that the cooler weather is possibly on the horizon I've realised non of my jumpers fit so I'm in. Can't decide whether to follow my fitnesspal or the old weight watchers pro points. I lost 6 1/2 stone on weight watchers 8 years ago but couldn't keep it off

@Millie2017 if you have a Morrison's nearby they do a crate of about 7 or 8 smallish avocados to ripen at home, much cheaper than getting the rope and ready ones. I buy these and have half to one per day depending on size.

@woolly great tip thanks!
@klouise I brought a load of jumpers in Asda last year as a ‘post pregnancy stop gap’... unfortunately I think they are the only ones that will fit me at the moment.

This morning's breakfast on LCHF. It feels all kinds of wrong to be cooking it in butter and oil. I'm struggling with breaking my preconceived ideas that FAT IS BAD!

Kondo it's such a hard shift to make, but I've definitely found I feel miles better with more fat/less carb. I don't find lots of meat agrees with me, which makes it trickier.

blonde I love making sourdough! If you need any advice just ask.

Today isn't a washout, but it's not going as well as planned. Only half a yoga practice after faffing around for too long, and we sat down for lunch late and I was so hungry I've just finished off half of DC3's abandoned breaded fish portion after eating my apple bowl. I'll do my best to leave the granola bar this afternoon to make up for it - I've literally only just eaten, so getting through to 6pm shouldn't be too hard.
