Link to previous thread here: Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3652424-half-a-stone-or-3kg-off-for-august

Morning all! Welcome to the half a stone loss challenge for September. All are welcome whatever plan or method you are following. I'm mainly following ww online with some intermittent fasting thrown in for good measure!

All I ask is that we continue the uplifting positivity and support seen on previous threads! We cheerlead each other, celebrate success and support through the harder times.

We had a great month in August with lots of losses. I don't know about you lot but the longer this goes on the more it feels like a way of life for me now rather than "being on a diet"?

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 19st 13
Loss for August: 14lbs
Loss for 2019: 5 st 3lbs
Target for September: 10lbs off

Ready for September??

❤️❤️

Morning all, very quick post just to say I am here and still sticking with good habits. Haven't had a chance to catch up with the thread yet but haven't done any exercise this week as started the week feeling very under the weather but I am starting couch 2 5k tonight as although I do occasionally run I almost always hate it and want to see of following a group programme will help that. Off out for the day with my Mum and sister so looking forward to a day off work in the sunshine.

Will read through later this evening when I am home, have a great day all Smile

Welcome @FashionFoodLaughs! You will find lots of support on here. They're a good bunch :) I'm in a similar position having come off mirtazapine about 6 weeks ago. It's an anti depressant with a side effect of increasing appetite... I gained 5 stone in a year! However i now literally have no appetite at all. Bloody medications!!

@Onesmallstep67 thank-you that's a lovely thing to hear :)

Forgot to weigh this morning so no update although I think I'm probably up a pound as I'm horrendously constipated (TMI sorry!! Blush)

Plan for today is eating window 12-8 again.
Lots of water and a green tea this morning
L - Morrison's salad (haven't been and picked one yet but might go for the vegan Buddha bowl)
D - leftover curries lentils from yesterday, cucumber sticks and yoghurt and mint.

Have a happy and successful day!

@cricketmum84 - how might one get rid of such a blockage?? Blush

LooseAtTheSeams · 19/09/2019 08:53

1 lb off this morning! Think that's only a grand total of 2 so far this month. Must try to shed another by Monday!

TheBatsHaveLeftTheBellTower · 19/09/2019 14:27

Haven't weighed myself since the weekend because I'm using the scales at the gym which are more reliable than my scales - I can gain/lose a couple of lbs just by moving them to a different place in the room!

But I took my measurements this morning and I've lost an inch from my waist and hips. (Didn't measure bust because I don't want to lose weight from there!!)

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 19/09/2019 16:45

Missed posting yesterday after my good intentions.

cricket that man was clearly a first-rate wanker. What a horrible experience for you.

Tanaqui fasting can make you hyper-alert. One theory is that your body goes into 'hunter' mode: helping you search for/catch food.

I've switched to 18:6 for a couple of days, so fasting from 3pm - 9am. Hopefully that'll shift something!

cricketmum84 · 19/09/2019 18:03

Oh @ScoobyCan I wish I knew!! Curried lentils for tea.... maybe that will do something! I feel awful this evening and my stomach has swelled up so I look pregnant!! Ugh not fun!

@cricketmum84 I like syrup of figs if I’m feeling a bit bunged up. Much less violent reaction than laxatives etc.

Millie2016 · 19/09/2019 22:22

Closed the kitchen at 5.30 and did a Zumba class this evening. Boom.

AdventureTravelDreamer · 19/09/2019 22:49

Just read through the thread to catch up. @cricketmum84 what a horrible experience. Like lots of others have said he would of shouted insults at anyone. I had a similarly horrible experience with another driver about 18 months ago. He actually blocked me from turning in to the road I was going to, got out of his car, approached my car and opened my door shouting at me. I had done nothing wrong. Thankfully there was a car behind me and the male driver of that vehicle got out, the shouty man then started shouting at him and I closed my door and drove off. I got to work quite shaken and haven't forgotten it!

Good day food wise plus I went to the running group and did the first week of the couch 2 5k. There seemed some nice chatty people in the group too.

No alcohol since Saturday and am planning my second dry Friday in a row but am out Sat so will have a drink then Grin

Crazzzycat · 19/09/2019 23:29

Two weeks of stress meant I really didn’t stick to the diet 🙈 But I have a new plan: I bought a lovely dress which is slightly too small. I hope that will motivate me to be disciplined.

Meals for today: spicy bean wrap for lunch, spicy pasta and salad for dinner. Snacks were a nectarine, a satsuma, carrot sticks with hummus and two squares of chocolate.

Tanaqui · 20/09/2019 05:12

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch, hyper alert sounds like it too- i never knew fasting could trigger that! It is so helpful to get insight from you guys!

10.0.4 this am so at least going down again- wonder if my lovely low was just dehydration! Didn't think I'd got that hot though! Also, syrup of figs you say....

FashionFoodLaughs · 20/09/2019 07:08

11 1.5 this morning so down 1.5. Have a wedding today (menu unknown, hate that) so limiting damage by driving.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 20/09/2019 07:15

Morning!

Tanaqui it's so interesting, isn't it? When I first started following the 5:2 diet, I would have to take a nytol on fasting days, or I just couldn't sleep! It doesn't happen any more.

Grumpy this morning, as the scales are insisting I've gained two pounds, which seems unlikely, as I've done four 18 hour fasts this week, & eaten under 1000 cals on those days.

Added to that, I stuck to (reasonable size) meals at the weekend, no snacks, plus 5 units of alcohol over the weekend.

Grump grump grump.

cricketmum84 · 20/09/2019 07:22

Happy Friday my lovely losers!!

Dinner was a total fail last night. I was working extra for the whole evening and DH (lovely caring man who seems to be on a "feed up the fat bird" mission) made me a huge plate of jackfruit chilli on top of tortilla chips. Unfortunately he hadn't reheated the chilli enough and the jackfruit and peppers were cold to bite into. I didn't have the heart to tell him. I managed about a 1/4 of the plate before telling him I had stomach ache.

Plan for today is:
Am - water and green tea
L - will pick up a salad from Morrison's this morning - I picked a reduced fat egg mayo sandwich yesterday and my stomach felt so heavy after
D - sooooo looking forward to this!! Baked cod with mushy peas and mint sauce. Comfort food at its best!!

Have a lovely day!

Morning all! Friday at last, hurray!
12st 9 for me today so another lb off and within reach of the 12st 7 which will take me out of the overweight BMI.

lightlypoached · 20/09/2019 08:45

Still 61.7 this morning. Boo

lightlypoached · 20/09/2019 08:46

@WoollyFoolly that's a real landmark. Grin

FashionFoodLaughs · 20/09/2019 09:27

@WoollyFoolly that’s amazing!

LooseAtTheSeams · 20/09/2019 09:28

Woolly you are practically there!
Planning on a run later if not too drained of energy after work!

LooseAtTheSeams · 20/09/2019 09:29

Cricket you have definitely earned your baked cod treat!!

Vebrithien · 20/09/2019 09:32

Checking in a bit later than usual, but 0.6kg down on last week, so now 91.3kg.
That makes it 2.2kg for the month so far, so happy with that.
Off to the in-laws this weekend, so we'll see what that brings!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 20/09/2019 09:49

Biggest threat to weight loss success has appeared in sainsburys.

I’m delighted for dietary restricted DH. I’m also a lost cause now Grin

Well done Wooly! You are so close!

I have a birthday today (not my own), so have to be realistic about what may disappear down my face today. The current plan is to have a spicy bean wrap for both lunch and dinner and some salad and fruit. That brings me to just over 1000 kcal, which should mean there’s room for a small slice of cake. Fingers crossed the temptation to go off the rails won’t be too great.
