Link to previous thread here: Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3652424-half-a-stone-or-3kg-off-for-august

Morning all! Welcome to the half a stone loss challenge for September. All are welcome whatever plan or method you are following. I'm mainly following ww online with some intermittent fasting thrown in for good measure!

All I ask is that we continue the uplifting positivity and support seen on previous threads! We cheerlead each other, celebrate success and support through the harder times.

We had a great month in August with lots of losses. I don't know about you lot but the longer this goes on the more it feels like a way of life for me now rather than "being on a diet"?

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 19st 13
Loss for August: 14lbs
Loss for 2019: 5 st 3lbs
Target for September: 10lbs off

Ready for September??

❤️❤️

I'm back! August was a right off and unfortunately there has been weight gain but I'm ready to get back on track now that we're back to our normal routine.

Weight yesterday 14st 4 (+8lbs from end of July but 8lbs down from the beginning of the year so that's progress, albeit slow).

Feeling positive.

Crazzzycat · 05/09/2019 09:41

I know exactly what you mean WoollyFoolly. After losing almost 3 stone, I just don’t know how to dress myself anymore! Still, it’s a nice problem to have I guess and you should DEFINITELY get yourself a new dress to celebrate!

I’m planning a bit of a clear out of my wardrobe for this weekend, but I feel weirdly sad about it. I spent so much time (and money!) trying to find clothes that made me look and feel reasonably ok last year. I don’t really want to get rid off some of that stuff as it’s lovely, but it’s all way too big now. And holding on to it feels a bit like telling myself that there’s a good chance I’ll put the weight back on one day. So many complex emotions about a few bits of fabric 😬😂

AndTheyLivedHappilyEverAfter · 05/09/2019 09:48

Oh can I join in please?! I feel like I'm constantly going between dieting to practically binging. Wish I could just be sensible all the time! I've been good since Monday and feel like I should be a skinny minnie by now Hmm. I've been fasting from approx 9pm-1pm the following day. Sticking to 1000-1200 calories per day. Food plan for today is...

Lunch- Soup with small bread roll
Snack- probably a small 100 cal chocolate bar or an apple
Tea- fajita chicken with rice and salad
Snack- small low cal ice cream

I CAN keep this up!! Come on girls! Star

AndTheyLivedHappilyEverAfter · 05/09/2019 09:51

Oh... currently 11 stone. Aiming for 10 stone by at least Christmas

MessiahOrNaughtyBoy · 05/09/2019 09:53

Grin @AndTheyLivedHappilyEverAfter

Today i’m going to try to hold off eating until later, so that my 8hr window is pushed back. Yesterday my cut off was 17:30 and it was too early. I’m going to try to hang on until 11:30 at the earliest, so that I can eat my evening meal later. See how that goes.

Millie2017 · 05/09/2019 09:54

@WoollyFoolly
I like this one. It would look good with a statement necklace and you could dress up or down for other occasions.

MessiahOrNaughtyBoy · 05/09/2019 09:54

Grin at the skinny ninny bit btw!

Wehttam · 05/09/2019 09:59

Good luck everyone!!!!!!

💦🚰💦🚰💦🚰💦🚰💦🚰💦🚰💦🚰💦🚰💦🚰💦

My tip for success is drink at least 1-2 glasses of water first thing in the morning before anything else. You’ll feel hydrated and more focused and less likely to start snacking mid morning. Drink water like there’s no tomorrow especially when feeling peckish, you could be dehydrated instead of hungry. It works!

blondebakingmumma that's exactly where I was with IF a few months ago - I ate pretty much what I wanted and still lost, and found 18:6 the perfect time slot for me. After a summer of carbs and comfort eating after deciding to separate from STBXH I'm really really struggling to get my head back in the game.

The good news is that I ate so much protein yesterday (eggs at lunch, huge salmon fillet at dinner) that I'm still not really hungry. Protein is king for me, but I so often sacrifice it for something more fun. Need to make sure I'm building it into every single meal, not just one a day.

Blondebakingmumma · 05/09/2019 10:17

@hopefully when I need to get my head back on track I tend to reread a fasting book. My favourites ate Delay, don’t Deny by Gin Stephens and the Obesity Code by Dr Fung ☺️

lboogy · 05/09/2019 10:24

August was a write off. Lost 2kg and gained to back. Tipping the scales at 81.2kg today 🤦‍♀️
Trying to keep under 1400 calories with mfp

crivit · 05/09/2019 12:34

I'm having a tough motivation day (in general) but at least the weigh-in went well this morning - down to 72.1 Shock

Trying to study and failing, trying to do housework and failing. Annoying!

On the subject of dresses, I like the one that @Millie2017 posted - the tiers would work well when dancing Grin

WoollyFoolly · 05/09/2019 12:51

I love the pattern bluebeck but I definitely need something longer! I'm 5'10" so that would be a mini skirt on me.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 05/09/2019 13:17

Afternoon!

I'm enjoying the chat Grin

WoollyFoolly you should start your very own style & beauty thread: they'll sort you out! I'm hoping to be in your position by Christmas [santa]

Have you looked at Pepperberry? They're great for the curvy & large-of-nork.

Stuck to plan yesterday. I have two meals a day, and eat whatever I want until I'm really full. I find I eat less in a day if I do that than if I have unsatisfying meals.

I tried making overnight slow-cooker porridge last: it was NOT a success. It was like scrambled egg inside a warty brown crust.

I ended up shaping it into little patties and frying them with butter, & popping a couple of fried eggs on top. Very tasty, but not something I'm going to repeat. The kids were appalled.

Having pasta puttanesca with parmesan later, then nothing until tomorrow.

Have lost a pound and a quarter since Monday: my first-week-back fluid loss.

Lookingforpizza · 05/09/2019 14:34

Hello all! Have tried eating my breakfast and lunch later today so I don't end up so hungry on my way home and making emergency doughnut purchases Grin.

Today's food:
B: No added sugar muesli and milk
L: Tuna with salad cream and spring onions in Wholemeal pittas.
D: hot chilli veggie stir fry
Snacks: Latte and remaining doughnut from yesterday.

I think I will end up on around 1400 today which is fine. I'm away over the weekend so need to do a load of cleaning and laundry tonight which will keep me active.

Currently trying to talk myself out of buying a £90 coat, but it's been so chilly lately and my one from last year is too big and it's not the sort of design/material where it looks nice if it's a bit baggy. It just bulks Sad. However DP and I have been thinking about moving in together and my finances are awful so I'm supposed to be clearing debts and saving but I really want the damn coat!

Crazzzycat · 05/09/2019 14:46

My plan for today is spicy bean wrap for lunch and spicy pasta with spinach salad for dinner. It’s going to be a spicy day!

Snacks will be 2 tangerines, a soya yoghurt, two corn thins with pumpkin seed butter and a small banana. That still leaves me with about 100 kcal spare. May be I’ll treat myself to a square of dark chocolate 🤔

Tanaqui · 05/09/2019 15:16

@Millie2017, you are totally right - buying the ice cream in the first place was a mistake! Also I have wanted to eat all day again today! But not been too bad so far.

@cricketmum84, I will try and draw a line and get myself back in gear!

Notopel · 05/09/2019 15:53

Scales stuck at 9st 1lb for me for the last two weeks 😭

It’s really annoying as I know I’m sticking to the calorie count and even not eating back extra exercise calories but the scale still isn’t shifting. I’m losing inches as clothes are fitting better but it’s so discouraging not to see any difference on the scales

2018SoFarSoGreat · 05/09/2019 16:40

Found myself up from 185 to 186.4 for 3 days. Have felt so bloated and sluggish, and finally figured out that it is because I ate raw oats with my yogurt for 4 days, instead of my usual bran cereal. Think my body can't process it anymore. Kept on eating well, and upped my steps. Down to 184.4 this morning so hope we're moving in the right direction again.

Sheesh. I can still feel that brick of oats sitting there. Lesson learned.

Sigh81 · 05/09/2019 16:40

Sitting in the airport right now reading this thread for motivation. Everyone around me is eating delicious-smelling food but I brought my evening meal with me.

B: overnight oats (water), blackberries, yoghurt
L: lentil dhal, roast vegetables, chocolate acai berries
D: lentil dhal, roast vegetables, roast chicken, 2 squares dark chocolate and strawberries

Snacks: Graze cherry tart box.

Drinks: water

Am off on holiday, when I normally lose weight (am more active: swimming, walking etc.) So fingers crossed.

Wanderlusting99 · 05/09/2019 17:14

Can I join you all please? A few days late but I did my first weigh in on the 3rd. My brother's wedding next summer and I'd like to feel like me again before then.

Start Weight: 160.8lbs
Target for September: 155lbs

Hopefully · 05/09/2019 17:50

I have kept a food diary today of every morsel that has passed my lips, with an estimated calorie count (I'm pretty good at it after years of counting calories at various stages thanks to a mother who kept putting me on diets as a teen Hmm). Holy macaroni. Calorie intake is around 2,500, maybe even closer to 3,000. Explains why I am regaining weight even though I have a really pretty active lifestyle. Determined to plan out tomorrow better, and be realistic and accept I will snack but to make better choices.

cricketmum84 · 05/09/2019 18:20

Oh god I fell victim to the vegan roll again! At least this time that's the only thing I've eaten today.

Dinner is 2 mushroom sausages (let's see if these are better than the satay!!!), 2 mini frozen Yorkshire's, broccoli and a bit only onion gravy. Cannot wait! I've not had a Yorkshire pudding since I turned veggie as DH makes them and he always uses dripping...

@Sigh81 safe flight and have a fab holiday!!

@Wehttam yep water in a morning works for me. I used to just have one coffee but now I have 2 pint glasses of water before I leave the house and feel great for it!

Welcome @Wanderlusting99 😊

Checking in for today. So far so good, I had an M&S harissa chicken salad for lunch (complete rip-off price-wise but very tasty and low calories so I'll go with it). Tea is going to be leftover turkey chilli and cauliflower rice and then that's it for the day.

DH is out tonight which is usually my excuse to crack open a bottle of wine and order pizza. Instead I'm going to do the ironing and change the sheets. This weight-loss lark is no fun at all!
