Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

I haven't quite cracked open the wine yet but will do soon. I'm sitting out on my balcony as our garden patio is now in the shade! Beautiful weather again, though we all know it will change for good soonish 😔

DottieLottie1 · 14/09/2019 07:46

Morning🙂

Another restless night, I'm rather anxious about my DR 😔

I'm about to get myself a cuppa but I'll take it back to bed. No one else is awake yet. Off to work in a couple of hours so will be working through lunchtime. Dinner will be KFC tonight washed down with Prosecco 😬. Will be a 1500 day.

I hope your plans for the day are far more exciting than mine! 😊

Seer · 14/09/2019 09:18

Oh that's rough @DottieLottie1 . I hope things improve for your relative soon ♥️

Dh and ds away all day so I'm planning for dd and I to meet up with my sister and her dd. Not yet sure what we'll be doing and therefore what we'll be eating! Will update when I know.

Having a lie in as one of the dogs vomited all over us and the bed in the early hours last night - fun times - so really needed the extra sleep this morning!

How's everyone else, @TantricTwist @MrsGrindah and all? ☺️

Morning! I’ve feeling a bit sorry for myself today. Apologies if TMI but I’m having the period from hell so my stomach feels huge and so sore. Hardly ate though yesterday ...silver lining! But stupidly tried goal trousers on ...feels as far away as ever.
Hey ho. Have to do some work today and so does DH so planning a slow cooker stew. Comfort food but I will ensure I have a small portion.Dint think I’m up to any exercise but we will see.

Seer · 14/09/2019 10:25

Well I've got some news... despite the takeaway and wine last night, the scales said this morning that I've lost a pound! ☺️

They actually flickered to the pound below - it was v exciting to see a number in the 150s!

That has taken me a pound below my 'original goal weight' (hence the congrats from MFP!) AND my waist is just a touch under 30" so I'm in the 20s!

I'm officially on the way to my next goal (151lb and 29") I'm soooo pleased 😀💃

@DottieLottie1 We must keep reminding each other that plateaus are always followed by success!

Bless you @MrsGrindah, please take it as easy as you can. If you tend to struggle with your periods I'd really recommend the book Wild Power. I can also recommend a podcast they've been on if you prefer to listen first.

I can give lots of other recommendations on this topic (and the broader topic of women's bodies, pain etc) if you want any more as it's related to my rather outing work 😉

HEAR HEAR @Seer! Brilliant rhyming there 😂

And..Whoopy Doop that's fantastic. Good on you! 😘

TantricTwist · 14/09/2019 18:56

That's amazing @Seer Well done Halo and a huge congratulations for you Star

@DottieLottie1 hope work was ok, that dinner was delicious and your lovely relative is bearing up.

@MrsGrindah hope your tummy is feeling better and that you managed some yummy stew.

I've been a bit meh this week not sure why really. Food wise could be better but not alarmingly bad. I still look shit in photos as it turns out. I was sitting in the background of a photo taken when I was out one night last week and looked horrendous (although I did look disheveled coming straight from work and was not wearing what I normally would).

I picked up a pair of my old jeans earlier (only a year old) and they have a very much smaller waist than the one I have currently. God I'm glad I've signed up to the gym and can't wait to start at the end of the month when I'm less busy.

I prepared my gym bag today to put in the back of the car.
I've spent all afternoon dismantling an Ottoman bed to take to the tip tomorrow so burnt lots of calories that way. Also had to sort out all the items that had been stored under it. Note to self never ever ever buy one of those annoying items of furniture ever again.

TantricTwist · 14/09/2019 19:00

B - Avocado with balsamic and a fig activa yoghurt.
L - Nothing
D - Baguette with bacon and camembert (see this is why I look shit in photos Blush Wink

TantricTwist · 14/09/2019 19:01

L - oops I forgot I had raspberries and watermelon.

Seer · 14/09/2019 19:13

Thank you @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

Tantric, photos can be awful - so inaccurate. I saw one recently where I looked massive, saw another on the same day wearing the same thing where I looked fine. And today, only a month later, I had a photo taken with my tummy on show 😮 and I actually looked pretty good 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hope your mood picks up soon ♥️

B: v BLT
L: nothing
D: curry, rice, poppadom etc out at an Indian (yum!)

Haven't worked out cals yet but suspect I'll be around 1200-1500.

Seer · 14/09/2019 19:15
  • that's my BARE tummy 😮😮😮

MrsGrindah · 14/09/2019 19:22

Thanks TantricFeeling a bit better now but still uncomfortable. Only did 15 mins hula but that will have to do. My stew was absolutely delicious though..Angela Hartnett recipe that I’d adapted. I only had a sliver of soda bread with it ( bread is like crack cocaine to me). Two glasses of red wine for medicinal purposes.

Then its über strict till Thursday am weigh in...

Seer · 15/09/2019 08:02

Morning all! ☺️

I was just pondering that the last thread lasted 3 months roughly, if this one lasts a similar time then I wonder where we'll all be and what we'll call the new one ( "The one where we all buy Levi 501s"? 😀)

I'd hope to be at my goal and maintaining 🙏 (and maybe working on improving tone and shape) by then - and I'll deffo still need the support and motivation!

How about all of you?

Got a fairly busy day planned with a village get together and packing for DS's school trip.

Not sure about food yet but probably:

B: full cooked breakfast (v bacon, v sausages, beans etc - under 300 cals!)
L: fast
D: something easy like pasta

Walk, SVs, might have a day off KBs but do some kind of yoga or movement medicine instead

Will aim for 1200 cals.

Have a lovely day, all! ☺️

Also @DottieLottie1 would you consider yourself 'slim' now or still 'normal' as you said last time?

I think I'm somewhere between slim and normal now but it's hard to tell between the varying messages given by mirrors, photographs etc!

Hi,

Can I join you? I have been doing a bespoke version of 16:8. By bespoke I mean that I have a large coffee with a meagre amount of milk every morning. Just don't be able to start the day without this.

I am in my mid fifties and found that my weight had been very slowly but surely edging upwards. Have been doing my version of 16:8 for about 2 months and have lost a stone so far. Only have a few pounds to go, but felt ridiculously disillusioned by an apparent half pound gain this morning from yesterday - I know it isn't fat, but still feels annoying!

Looking forward to a long walk today.

Seer · 15/09/2019 08:47

Sure @burninglikefire ! You're very welcome!

We're all doing different approaches here - many of us include some form of fasting. I do the 16:8 (sometimes longer fasts) 5 days a week, along with calorie counting.

I weigh daily and my weight fluctuates by 2-3 lbs so I know it can't be fat, unless I'm a freak of nature 😀 I suspect the same is true for you.

I've lost 20lb since May and I've got 9lb left to lose (it's just a guesstimate as I'm actually aiming for 29" waist and I think that's the weight that'll get me there).

How much exactly do you have left to lose?

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 15/09/2019 09:29

Morning!

Thanks @TantricTwist. I've managed to avoid photos like the plague, if any exist I haven't seen them. Once you start at the gym I'm sure you will start to see more progress.

@Seer, I'd say I still look 'normal', I think I'll look slim with another 1/2 stone off. I'd look too thin with a further 1/2 stone if though! My aim was to shift 46lbs as quickly as possible. I was only 1/2 stone from being obese according to BMI at the start of this. 3 months in and I've lost 35lb. My target date was always Halloween. I might get there by then but if not I should by Christmas.

👋🏻@burningfire, thanks thread is brilliant for accountability and support. Do you use MFP? I do recommend it, its been brilliant for me.

Today's plans. I've got to go to that big swedish shop to pick up s piece if furniture. Visiting relative, then home for a dog walk.

B- cuppa followed by Vanilla and almond milkshake

L- fruit

D- Spiced beef fajitas. Loads of salad

Have a lovely Sunday all 😊

DottieLottie1 · 15/09/2019 09:31

Honestly I am writing in paragraphs. They keep disappearing when I post though and create one continuous paragraph! New phone and cant work out why this is happening. Annoying.

DottieLottie1 · 15/09/2019 10:25

Well, you know that top I've mentioned before. The one that started all this? The one that I was busting out of and the button holes were stretched so you could see my bra and flesh? I'm wearing it today as a term dress! It's kind of tunic styled so I used to wear it with leggings but it was way too short as a dress! If anything it's a bit big so I'm well chuffed!

Seer · 15/09/2019 10:35

I bet I'd think you look slim tho @DottieLottie1 😀

That's brilliant about the top-turned-dress! It all feels so real when you can see that your clothes are fitting completely differently to only a few months ago!

I'm finding I just look much better in everything too, even things I thought I looked fine in already. Being a healthy weight really does make such a difference in so many ways.

I'm looking forward to having a complete wardrobe overhaul once I've reached my goal waist. I wonder what the ratio of 'Smaller clothes I've rediscovered' vs 'Clothes that are too big' will be ☺️

OP posts:
Seer · 15/09/2019 10:36

Btw your paragraphs are working fine. The gap is actually bigger than usual!

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 15/09/2019 10:42

That's odd @Seer as once posted and I scroll to check they are lost! You are obviously seeing something different to me!

Will you be throwing your 'big' clothes out? I think I will or donate them but I have this what if feeling. That's probably the wrong attitude as I don't intend to take my eye off the ball/scales again! 😬

MrsGrindah · 15/09/2019 11:12

I think we should y I get Levi’s to sponsor this thread!

Remember my list of positive things about losing weight? I’ve got some more:

  1. Bath towels wrap around you comfortably. You can blithely tuck them at the top and they fully cover you.
  2. Nice winter coats fit properly regardless of whether you’ve got a jumper on underneath
  3. Birthdays..I’m looking forward to my big one next month. I won’t be at my goal weight by then but I will be slimmer, so this time I’m going to look forward to it rather than think ( as I usually do) “ I’m fatter than ever”
MrsGrindah · 15/09/2019 11:13

That should say “ try to get Levi’s to sponsor this thread!”
