Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

This is how your long post looks to me @DottieLottie1

That's a very good question!

I have the same dilemma as you on that. I want this to be my first and last ever diet so keeping clothes for 'what if?' Reasons seems counterintuitive, albeit tempting!

I don't think there will be too many clothes that will be too big (as it should only either be things I've bought in the last year or things I've worn whilst bigger and have stretched so they'll be baggy) but I'm going to commit here and now to donating every single one of them!

I'm thinking I'll end up a size 10-12 (my hips are almost always a 12 no matter how little fat I have, it's just my shape) so...

My old 10s will fit

My old and new 12s should fit

Vanity or stretchy 12s (and I might have a couple of 14s) will be too loose

There's also a few long tops that are a 12/medium that'll probably still fit but as I only bought them to hide my tummy, I'm not sure I'll want to wear them anymore.

It's the stretchy size 12s that I've lived in for the past year, eg the accursed M&S jeggings, that will feel hardest to part with as they've been a life saver! Hopefully I'll be sick of them by then!

at bread being like crack cocaine - as it's been like that for me this morning with avocado on toast and yesterday some baguette (I can't see who said it but think it's @MrsGrindah

@Seer you're doing so well enjoy your day it's very hot here so hopefully it is for you as well.

@DottieLottie1 I haven't been there for years but enjoy browsing it's so good for ideas I'll bet you come away with a car full of items you just had to have

I'm all sweaty after going to the tip 3 times earlier with DS who finds it all very exciting throwing large items into caverns of rubbish. I now have to clear cuttings in the garden to take there next week. One great thing is that my denim shorts kept slipping down so I've definitely lost weight Smile

MrsGrindah · 15/09/2019 18:56

Seer Thankyou for your offer of advice re period pain. Feel much better today. I’m going through the sodding menopause so every month is different!

Had a great day today.
Breakfast cereal bar
Lunch fast
Snack some lentil crisps
Dinners Stuffed mushrooms and green beans

No booze. Double hula hoop. Got a big week at work this week so hopefully will keep me busy!

Seer · 15/09/2019 21:51

Thank you @TantricTwist ! Yes it's been scorching here and we've been outdoors and moving around a lot all day ☀️

Finally got DS packed for his trip - sooo frustrating and exhausting! Having a hot bath and a kombucha to relax now.

Have closed kitchen on 1381 cals - which given the huge exertion of the day I'm cool with. I would be amazed if I'm not still in a decent calorie deficit!

I've noticed my body is adapting to two meals a day (either B & D or L & D), even when I have breakfast at the weekends, I can miss lunch and not feel hungry until dinner. Thats happened both days this weekend without any effort or will. That's surprised me, I thought I'd only be able to miss breakfast.

Up at 5am tomorrow 🙈 so will catch you all in the morning ☺️

I can give you some recommendations for peri/menopause too if you'd like @MrsGrindah Just let me know. ☺️

Morning everyone!

How your early start went ok @Seer. I only spent a cool £540 @ TantricTwist in the large Swedish shop yesterday 😬 However it was to kit out my teenage DS bedroom, hes had the same bed since 2006!

@MrsGrindah, yes to your second point! I'm on the lookout for a new winter coat (as well as a faux fur one) and yes room for a thick jumper below is needed without looking like the Michelin man!

Having a cuppa and the for today are to take my DD to school as she's feeling a bit poorly ☹, DS will take himself even though they are at the same secondary! I've got to that stage of being an embarrassment I guess 😂 . Once home I've got to Hoover DS room out, wipe down and prep the woodwork and then get painting. Once I've finished the first coat I will take the dog out. Then return and apply to coat 2. I will need to factor in picking DD up from school now too. Weekly food shop once DH is home.

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- fruit
D- Pesto pasta

Around 1000 cals.

I think DH has finally noticed. He told me I looked nice in my dress/top yesterday and that I hadnt worn it in ages.....

What are all your plans?

MrsGrindah · 16/09/2019 07:53

Morning All... Delighted to report I have lost half an inch from my waist! So 30 bang on now. However the rest of me....

Working from home today so will not be very active although may nip into town afterwards so will be walking for an hour

Breakfast 2 egg omelette with tiny bit of cheese
Lunch - salad and yoghurt
Dinner stuffed mushrooms

DH commented last night how “ good” I’m being . I’m determined to be v strict this week then I will have done a complete 3 weeks of dieting before the weigh in so I know whatever the scales say it’s “ true” and probably less than I was.

Seer · 16/09/2019 07:55

Morning!

Ds dropped off 😭 and back home making breakfast for DD.

Decided to have breakfast this morning as I felt I needed a boost.

Nothing much planned today except work and a food shop.

B: pieces of baguette with tapenade and hummus (naughty but soooo nice!)
L: dumplings, veg, miso
D: not sure yet as I'm late doing this week's meal plan. Possibly tofu & veg stir fry or Thai curry with rice.

Will aim for 1200 cals as 1k will be challenging now I've had breakfast.

Yoga, kettlebells, walk and SV later (been loving doing yoga in the garden since the sun has returned!)

What's your plans, everyone? ☺️

OP posts:
Seer · 16/09/2019 07:59

Cross posted with you both!

That's brilliant @MrsGrindah ! Really well done! Hitting 30" waist felt like a big milestone for me - it's 'officially' a size 12 I believe.

Yay to your dh finally noticing @DottieLottie1 ! And a compliment too ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 16/09/2019 08:04

That's a great start @MrsGrindah! Should motivate you and remember when you do weigh in your already heading in the right direction. 🙂

Seer · 16/09/2019 08:11

@DottieLottie1 what's your waist size now?

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 16/09/2019 08:54

29", but I can pull it tighter to about 28.5 without puckering up my skin. I still think I'd be a size 12 as my hips are quite predominant. My ideal is 10 st and a size 10.

I remember when I had a 19" waist at 18!!! Obviously I know that I was still a girl and in training (competed for the country in my sport) that's now unachievable and I'd look beyond emaciated!

Seer · 16/09/2019 09:36

Oooh I'm jel @DottieLottie1 ! That'll spur me on (can you tell I'm competitive? 😀)

Do you know what it started out at?

😮 at 19" waist!!

OP posts:
MrsGrindah · 16/09/2019 11:06

I’m finding that having what I fancy is working as long as I build it into my calorie allowance. So instead of thinking I can’t have cheese for example, I’m thinking I can have it but only x calories worth. It’s making me think how much do I really want something.

Checked my measurements ..yes 30 inch waist is a 12 but my hips are 41.5 so a good 14!

TantricTwist · 16/09/2019 12:50

@MrsGrindah glad you're feeling better

@DottieLottie1 it shows how much DH loves you as he's obvs happy with how you look. That Swedish shop will do that to you Grin I need new mattresses from there fir the DC. Did you buy a Hövag single by any chance? If so any good?

Seer I'm finding my body is happily accommodating 2 main meals. I only need breakfast when I'm working and that's not till 10am ish after getting up a 6am. At weekends it tends to be brunch.

I've got rid of more stuff today by either giving it away to a charity shop nearby or binning it. I'm feeling very energised at the moment although my knee gave way last night and bloody hurt intermittently, it's fine now. So I'm not going to go too crazy lifting and shlepping things around twisting my body into awkward positions to get things up and down stairs etc

TantricTwist · 16/09/2019 12:52

Oh yes

B - Camembert rolled into prosciutto
L - not sure
D - roast chicken dinner that had no time to be cooked yesterday plus no one was hungry enough in the heat

TantricTwist · 16/09/2019 12:59

Holy Moly I've lost 2 inches off my waist !!!!
2 Whole inches!!!

I am beyond excited Whoop Whoop!! 🤸‍♀️

Seer · 16/09/2019 13:55

I'm soooooo happy for you @TantricTwist! That is loads!!! Bloody well done! How do you feel? ☺️

@MrsGrindah I find it fascinating how different everyone's shapes are! My hips are currently 39", which sounds fine and is in proportion in that they're also a 12, but weirdly I always look quite big on the hips 🤷🏻‍♀️ I look balanced/hourglass if I have decent sized boobs so I do look better with a bit of weight.

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 16/09/2019 14:22

I feel so amazing I went straight out into the garden to celebrate and worked up a sweat clearing 3 large bin bags of leaves and cuttings in one corner and took them to the tip.

I think all this working up a sweat seems to do wonders for my waist, well being and state of my home Smile

Hopefully I'll feel just as epic at work the next 2 days and spread the joy Grin

TantricTwist · 16/09/2019 14:51

L - a pot of fig activa yoghurt

DottieLottie1 · 16/09/2019 15:05

@Seer, no idea but I'm guessing it was huge! I'm starting to get back on my old clothes.

Well done @TantricTwist that's brilliant! See it's all worth it 😊 Yes, bought the Hovag but a double. DD had one and I thoroughly recommend 👍🏻

Exactly @MrsGrindah, don't cut this out completely just factor it in to your daily total! It works!

Seer · 17/09/2019 07:03

I wish you had @DottieLottie1 ! How's the painting going?

That's how I do it too @MrsGrindah , I still have the odd glass of wine or chunk of dark chocolate, I just factor it into my calorie allowance.

I'm not much of a snacker anyway though, my weakness is massive portions of rice and pasta, both things that I eat regularly so I just have to be sensible about how much I have, measure the portions, mostly go for whole grain (which I find less moreish) and not go back for seconds unless I really need it.

Working today and not much else planned...

B: fasting
L: dumplings, miso, veg
D: roast vegetable pasta with olives and capers

Should be a cool 1k day if I stay on the piste!

Kettlebells, walk, SVs and hopefully some yoga or dance

I'm due on in the next day or so and can feel my tummy starting to swell/bloat, need to factor that in as I'm weighing and measuring this week!

What are your plans everyone? ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 17/09/2019 07:40

Morning!

After spending nearly all of yesterday painting the walls I just need to finish off the woodwork. I might try and build DS bed when he is back from school. DH would normally do it but not until the weekend. I've had enough practice with large swedish shop furniture recently that I probably don't need to look at the instructions 😂

Currently drinking a cup if tea in bed. Will get up shortly to take still poorlyish DD to school as I think riding her bike a few miles would be too much. When back I'll take the dog out and then onto the satin wood!

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- Fruit
D- Jacket potato with pineapple cottage cheese and salad
S- more fruit
Should be sub 1000 cals

Have a good day 🙂

TantricTwist · 17/09/2019 13:45

@DottieLottie1 they come nicely rolled up don't they. I need to buy a couple of them in singles which means I can buy and collect them and have a lovely browse around.

@Seer I really should eat more large dishes of rice and pasta to fill up on. Although my appetite has gone right down as I'm eating less which I'm happy about

B - an avocado I brought in and actually ate once arrived at 07:20

L - chicken salad with a left over potatoe

D - no idea yet

DottieLottie1 · 17/09/2019 15:19

Yes they do @TantricTwist so makes them easy to pick up. I got a double bed frame, double mattress and Media unit in my car (plus all the usual junk). Felt smug not having to pay for delivery 😉 Such a lovely deep mattress and the quality for price is exceptional.

I love avocado but have a habit of either buying one that is too mushy or the other extreme!
