Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

Not sure why I'm losing the end if my posts, its definitely all there before I press reply 🙄

So, back to

DottieLottie1 · 08/09/2019 22:04

Ahhh, it doesn't like the less than 'v' sign.

So.... back to UNDER 1200 cal per day from tomorrow.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 09/09/2019 06:21

First weigh in this morning. 1.1kg off. It's not much but it's a start. It all went a bit wrong at the weekend but hopefully I can minimise that this week.

Seer · 09/09/2019 07:29

That's loads @MyGhastIsFlabbered ! Well done!

I often go off piste a bit at weekends but I think if it helps us stay the course overall then it's a good thing!

Plan today...

B: fasting
L: veg soup
D: smoked tofu and roast veg tacos

Aiming for a 1k cal day. I'm excited at the thought of seeing my weight dip below what has been my goal for months! Knowing my fluctuations it'll go up a few times first tho.

Dh is away a few days this week so I might use the opportunity to do a longer fast or v low cal days.

Exercise: Kettlebells, dog walk, vacuums

What are you plans today everyone? Smile

DottieLottie1 · 09/09/2019 08:11

@MyGhastIsFlabbered that's actually a lot, well done.

Back home from our weekend away in time for the kids to have breakfast . I'm sorting out the washing etc and having a quick cuppa. Will take the DC to school by car this morning considering the early start (they normally cycle). I walked the dog as soon as I woke up at 5.30am this morning but might do another later. I have to wait I for a plumber this morning and then food shop this arvo. DH has had to dash straight to work. Busy, busy but had a great time.

B- cuppa
L- Vanilla and Almond milkshake
D- Pesto pasta or spaghetti meatballs....

Should be just shy of 1000 cals.

Hope everyones well and has a great Monday 😊

MrsGrindah · 09/09/2019 13:02

Hi everyone

Woke up really pleased that I survived the weekend! I’ve written a list of 10 good reasons to carry on doing what I’m doing so I can read it when I’m tempted to chuck it all in. Not obvious stuff like improving my health but more personal things .Ill share a couple..

  1. I can finally own a pair of Levi’s. I’ve always wanted a pair but couldn’t afford them when I was slim before. And then I’ll wear them forever instead of having naff M and S jeans that have too much stretch in them.
  2. I won’t feel anxious meeting people I haven’t seen for ages. Currently I worry that they are thinking “Grindahs put on some timber!” . In fact I will look forward to it in the hope that someone notices I’ve lost weight ( although last time I was this big it took losing 21 pounds before that happened!”

MyGhast Well done!

DottieLottie1 · 09/09/2019 13:34

Good idea @MrsGrindah!

My reward to myself when I hit my goal weight is a pair of gorgeous Jeans. I might have to hop over to style and beauty for advice on which ones though! I haven't had a pair of Levi's since I was 18/20 ish. I had 501s and a pair of 506's. Not sure which style is currently in. I've also got my eye on a big fluffy faux fur jacket- I'm picturing myself in the snow looking ace 🙄😂

Seer · 09/09/2019 14:09

Love that @MrsGrindah 😍

Feel free to share the whole list if you like - I'm sure we'll all be able to relate to some or all of them and it will be inspiring for us too!

I used to live in 501s in my late teens/20s (I was obsessed with them and had at least 4 different colours!) and then haven't thought about them for years until I saw a woman in a pair the other day and thought she looked fab! So maybe we'll all be buying some Levi's in a few months!

Btw, I've lost 20lb in 4 months and only one friend has noticed Grin I'm ok with that as I'm hoping it means that no one noticed I'd put on the weight in the first place (the 20lb went on and off again in about a 9 month period) so to them I just look the same as I always have!

OP posts:
MrsGrindah · 09/09/2019 14:37

Thanks both..OK here are the rest...

  1. I’ll have a whole new wardrobe ..ie clothes I can’t wear anymore that are just hanging there feeling unloved will be worn again
  2. if I do buy new clothes , it will be what I fancy ..not what can I squeeze into
  3. Feel more confident meeting new people
  4. Feel I can dress more smartly at work and therefore taken more seriously ..finally buy some work suits!
  5. Go on social events and holidays with a spring in my step knowing I look great
  6. Feel more inclined to exercise without feeling my arse , tummy and boobs wobbling. Oh and just thought of another.... might do my sex life some good!
Seer · 09/09/2019 20:03

All fabulous reasons @MrsGrindah !

I so relate to #4, that was definitely a big motivation for me. I'd gone from buying clothes that I loved to buying from a small range of things based on one main criteria... whether it covered my tummy.

I was putting away some clothes earlier and looking at some of the tops I bought at the beginning of this year - whilst they're nice, I just wouldn't have bought them if I wasn't focused trying to hide parts of me. Not sure if I'll keep them now I don't have that reason.

Closing the kitchen on 1083 calories. I'm feeling stuffed after the tacos tho so it feels like I've eaten way more.

DottieLottie1 · 10/09/2019 09:10

Morning!

@MrsGrindah I think your probably right with your #9. The thought of everything wobbling makes me feel very 😱 regardless of what DH thinks....

Plans for today. Waiting in for the plumber again, then I'll need to run some errands in the town centre. Dog walk this afternoon, probably 3-4 miles (I managed 23 miles over the weekend 💪 so it feels a bit ppftttt). This evening I've got to drop my DS to sports training and hang around (small town wedged between ours @Seer 😉).

B- Shake
L- fast.
D- Jacket potato with pineapple cottage cheese and salad.
D- raspberries. Maybe a couple of sugar free sweets

Weigh in not until Friday. Interesting to see if any damage has been done over the weekend. I ate maybe 200 calories a day more than I might usually and a little more alcohol. I don't normally factor in calories burnt from exercise (I'm not convinced this is always acurate) but hopeful that 23 miles of walking would counter something!

Enjoy your day everyone 😊

Seer · 10/09/2019 09:38

Morning all!

Shame it isn't my town or you could have dropped in to me rather than hanging around @DottieLottie1 😀

I love the Chinese in that town - always a fave for birthdays etc

I'm sure that amount of walking would have gone some way to counteract your consumption.

What sport do you coach? I keep meaning to ask. Feel free not to tell me or to speak in code or drop it in subtly in future if it's too outing!

My day so far has been the school run then been rushing around getting random bits and pieces from town. Now dashing back to speak to the gardener before my client call at 10.30. All a bit more of a rushed start to the day than I like!

Plans...

B: fast
L: Either veg soup or miso, broccoli and veg dumplings
D: v meatballs, spaghetti and green beans

Haven't worked out cals yet but aiming for 1k cal max.

Exercise: Kettlebells, walk and stomach vacuum. Would like to fit in some yoga but have a pretty packed day workwise so probably won't get to it.

My weight has held steady for the last couple of days which usually means a drop is coming soon 🙏

Have a lovely day, all! ☺️

DottieLottie1 · 10/09/2019 09:49

I like the tex/Mex there @Seer.

I'll go in code as I think things could be put together.... most importantly it's a life skill. Is that clue enough? 🙂

DottieLottie1 · 10/09/2019 09:50

I teach and coach.

Seer · 10/09/2019 14:08

I think I've got it @DottieLottie1 😀

Your uniform makes a lot of sense now!

Seer · 10/09/2019 14:14

My cousin's dd is/was very good at that sport (the opposite to me and my DCs 🤦🏻‍♀️) and lives in your town... and I'm wondering now if you might know them. Such a small world if so! 😀

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 10/09/2019 14:16

Quite possibly @Seer 😂

Seer · 10/09/2019 19:01

I always find it weird how pasta dishes are fairly low calorie when pasta isn't something I consider as low calorie 🤷🏻‍♀️

If I have lentil bolognese or meatballs for dinner it's always one of my lowest cal days. It's good but don't understand it 😀

Maybe it's because it's like the main part of the meal rather than rice which feels more like a side so the other parts of the meal rack up the calories.

Today I'm totalling only 818 cals with the meals listed below plus a spritzer (if I have one) and a chunk of dark chocolate!

OP posts:
MrsGrindah · 10/09/2019 19:04

I’ve slipped a bit today ...having wine . But I’ve adjusted evening meal and about to do double hula hooping so that’s ok and I should still lose a stone overnight shouldn’t I?! Grin

DottieLottie1 · 10/09/2019 19:28

The odd glass of vino is fine @MrsGrindah 😉

I've had 880 cals so far today. Im going g to have a punnet of raspberries shortly so should finish on 950.

TantricTwist · 10/09/2019 19:56

Evening all, I went to the pub straight after work last night but only had half a pint put polished off a waitrose pizza when I got home then fell asleep. Yesterday I had B - alpen, L - salad with left over chicken and roast potatoes. And 2 mini bars of Montezuma chocolate.

I have barely moved today, bit of a headache. Will be on my feet all day tomorrow though. I'm really looking forward to starting the gym / health club at the end of the month. I thought I might regret my impulsive urge to join but surprisingly not.

b - Fast
L - rice noodles. glass of Granini apricot juice.
D - rice with stir fried Chinese chicken and peas. And 3 blue quality street.

@MyGhastIsFlabbered any loss is a good loss so well done.

@MrsGrindah great list I like it. I can see us all wearing Levis 501, which I did wear back in the day although jeans back then left a huge gape in the small of my back although I doubt I'll be that super slim ever again.

@DottieLottie1 I'd like to get some 7 for all Mankind jeans unless there's now a better fit jean out there. I think I may have guessed the sport.

@Seer will google stomach vacuum as soon as I'm off the thread, sounds very intriguing. Pasta is quite low in calories it's just the sauces I think that bump it up, I guess the creamier cheesy ones. But carbs do convert quickly to sugar so not so great in that respect I guess. Nice and filling though so less inclination to snack after.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 11/09/2019 06:25

Argh it's all gone a bit wrong...my brother came over at the weekend and brought all kinds of vegan goodies. I have zero willpower so now I feel fat and guilty and annoyed at myself.

DottieLottie1 · 11/09/2019 06:57

Morning 🙂

Not to worry @MyGhastIsFlabbered just pull yourself back on, though I understand its difficult in situations like that! New day and all that.

@TantricTwist have you started your new shift pattern yet?

I had a bit if a restless night as a family member was rushed to hospital (complications with an underlying health issue). Working today. Will try and get a good few miles of walking in during my break. No wine for me tonight which is rather unusual, instead I'm saving it for tomorrow as we are celebrating a birthday.

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- Bluberries and strawbs, protein shake
D- Roast Chicken breast in Pitta with copious amounts of salad

Should be around 850 cals for the day.

Have a good day all 😊

Seer · 11/09/2019 07:02

Morning all! ☺️

@TantricTwist! Yes you're right about pasta, I tend to have tomato based sauces which keeps the cals down and also use whole wheat pasta which is better too.

Glad you're still feeling motivated about the gym! You're doing so well!

@MyGhastIsFlabbered today is a new day. Can you put away or give away what's left of them?

@DottieLottie1 hoping all goes well for your family member ♥️

Plans today...

Working until 2.30pm and then need to start to get ds stuff sorted for a school trip (euros etc)

B: fast
L: broccoli, miso, Itsu dumplings
D: lentil and veg curry with rice

Should be within 1k cals.

Kettlebells, SVs and dog walk later.

My weight is still holding steady. It's like I'm being given a chance to really appreciate the number I've been visualising for months before it goes lower (hopefully!) I'm trying to appreciate anyway, there's deffo a hint of "oh bore off!" about it 😀

My waist feels like it's teasingly close to dropping into the 29" zone, even a genuine 29.9" would feel like a big milestone right now!

Have a lovely day everyone! ☺️
