Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

Forgot to add @Seer hope your plumbing disaster gets sorted out

And @DottieLottie1 amaretto with half a lime juice squeezed in is delicious - I was a bit meh till my friend insisted we try it - so good

MrsGrindah · 04/01/2020 16:11

Just bought an 8kg kettlebell! Nearly killed me carrying it home from Argos! About to do my hula hooping ( increased this to a straight half hour ) . Planning a two hour walk tomorrow.

Feeling quite determined. Breakfast was porridge, cheese and oatcakes for lunch, Thai green curry soup planned for dinner. And obviously no booze.I know you can have a drink whilst dieting but I feel like I need to give it a break for a bit.

DH is trying to shift some weight too so we are helping each other. I swear this has to be the last time though ( I’ve lost a significant amount of weight 4 times now) as I don’t think my body can take it.So I’m very interested in those of you who are now maintaining as I’ve never done that for more than two years.

Seer · 05/01/2020 10:43

Morning all!

Plumbing disaster resolved (thank you @TantricTwist !) and ended up having a lovely evening with dh. We watched JoJo Rabbit which is such a beautiful film.

We were meant to be going to Spitalfields Market today but have got up a bit late. Might just stay local instead now.

I hope you can address the IBS, Tantric. In my experience (with clients, not personally) it's often exacerbated by stress and anxiety. Are you feeling well in yourself, aside from this? If so, it might well be an allergy or intolerance. Either way, it sounds like your approach is wise.

Loving all the KB action on the thread! They're like the new Levi's 😀

I started with 8kg and use a 16kb one now - which sounds heavy but it's surprising how quickly you adapt to each weight. I've been weighing up (ho ho!) whether to get a 18 or 20kg one, tho that will feel like a real challenge!

I tend to do 100 swings (60 two handed and 40 one handed).

Not sure about food today until I know what we're doing but something like this:

Will fast either lunch or breakfast (haven't eaten yet so might make it brunch!)
D: roast veg pasta

Will aim for 1100 cals and get a good kb session in this morning whilst still fasting!

Have a lovely day all!

P.S. pic of the new dress I got. It looks much better on!

Lovely dress @Seer! Glad your plumbing issue wasn't a disaster 😬 been there done that too!

Just back from watching DS play his sport and it was freezing despite being dressed appropriately 🤷🏼‍♀️ The wind!

B- cuppa
L- Vanilla and almond milkshake
Blueberries
D- Roast chicken wraps with salad

Around 1000 calories today. I wont be taking dog out today as that's the DC's job for the day.

I'm going to do a keratin treatment on my hair shortly, it's like a Brazilian blowdry. Other than this and a few odd job houseworky type things I'll have a lazy evening.

One more day of school holidays left, normal routine kind of resumes Tuesday.

Enjoy your Sunday 😊

TantricTwist · 05/01/2020 16:44

That's a lovely dress @Seer. I love patterns on a dark background. It could be stress I just dont know, I don't think it is in that there's nothing keeping me up at night, apart from one annoying person at work (she's not too bad just a bit full on, intense, blows hot and cold, bit Jekyll and Hyde). I've been sleeping a lot during my time off and just chilling and avoiding social situations.

@MrsGrindah How are you getting on with the kettlebell? Also I'm in awe that you can hoola hoop for half an hour.

@DottieLottie1 I tried a treatment on my long, fine hair the other day and it made my hair feel quite sort of heavy and sticky. It was Wonder overnight recovery by Percy and Reed. However I do love their Wonder balm and no oil volumising oil. I guess different treatments for different hair. And my ultimate favourite at the moment is the Aveda damage remedy which leaves my hair glossy and smooth, it's amazing stuff actually. I got it in the M&S beauty advent calendar which I treat myself to every year as most of the items keep me going for most of the year, often I pass items on to DD or friends.

B -Fast
L - Still not had anything
D - Chicken salad, maybe some pasta if that's what the DC want.

I'm getting up early tomorrow as I'm back to work. I'm looking forward to it but because my sleeping pattern has been all over the place, as per usual when I have days off, I'm worried I'll be knackered. I just can't help a good lie in on my days off. I do set alarms to make me get up on my days off but I just roll back over and sleep Blush

Seer · 05/01/2020 18:58

Thank you @DottieLottie1 and @TantricTwist ! I wore it today and felt great in it!

We wound up going to Westfield and I had Vietnamese veg and tofu noodles and a summer roll for lunch (v yum!) I'm not hungry tonight so aside from a handful of crisps I've just had I won't be eating anything more.

I'm noticing lately how much I tend to eat from habit rather than actual hunger.

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 05/01/2020 19:56

I've just eaten a chicken salad with tomatoes and the last of the roasted carrots and an apple.

Tomorrow I'll be having Heinz cream of chicken soup for lunch which is 278 cals. Heinz tomato soup is only 118 cals so I might have that instead. I'll take both and see how I feel.

MrsGrindah · 05/01/2020 20:13

@TantricTwist How am I getting on with the kettlebell? Well, I’ve moved it from the lounge to the bedroom! Grin

I plan to start tomorrow.Did enough exercise today with a 7 mile walk and the hula hooping.

Only two meals for me today..a veggie brunch with no carbs and a chicken and avocado salad tonight. Me and Mr G have had a really good week and feeling ever so slightly smug!

*@Seer*Love that dress! I’m very partial to a dress but trying to stop buying clothes at the moment

TantricTwist · 05/01/2020 22:23

Oh well baby steps, at least you've lifted it Grin @MrsGrindah

Seer · 06/01/2020 09:22

@MrsGrindah I've only just started buying clothes (partic dresses, which I'm v partial to too!) since getting back to my old weight. I hardly bought anything for the year I'd gained weight as nothing looked or felt good. I'm loving being able to choose new clothes again based on whether I like them, not whether they hide my tummy!

I've just weighed myself and I'm still at the top end of my happy zone (which is good but 2-3lb down would be even better!)

Today the household is almost back to normal (DRs leaving, DH back to work) so there will be less meals out and tempting snacks and drinks around! I'm ready to do this!

B: fast
L: edamame, veg and miso
D: roast veg and black bean tacos (I'll go easy on the wraps)

Aiming for 1k cal max. Will get some walking, dancing and planking in too.

Have a fab day all! ☺️

Hope your return to work goes smoothly @TantricTwist ♥️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 06/01/2020 11:23

@Seer and @MrsGrindah, I also didn't buy any clothes during my larger times. I suppose I let the clothes i did have grow with me, stretchy waistband and all, whilst kidding myself i was still a size 10! Luckily for me i had loads of clothes in size 8/10, so as i gradually lost weight things began to fit piece by piece. I lived in leggings and oversized tops 😬. I don't t even have to buy for my holiday either, I've got plenty of lovely clothes that sort of feel new as I haven't worn them in ages!

DH is at work and it's the DCs last day of the holidays. I'm back to work midweek. I'm having a bit of a cheeky lay in with a cuppa before I get out with the dog. Then I'll need to do the big food shop. I will also get some secret exercises in too (running on the spot whilst waiting for kettle to boil, when the adverts are on etc etc 🙄😳😂).

B- Cuppa
L- Alpro Dark Choc almond milk warmed
D- pesto pasta, Italian meats and breads

That's about 950, I'll add in some snacks most probably fruit to up the intake a bit. I hope I get the maintaining part right!

Have a good day all.😊

Seer · 06/01/2020 22:13

I was doing so well and then succumbed to a bag of crisps earlier, which is so unlike me! Only 125 cals but still.

Overall it's been a 1285 cals days. I guess I need to get back into practice with tracking on MFP and sticking to 1k cals again

Tomorrow is another day ☺️

OP posts:
Seer · 07/01/2020 09:19

Morning all! ☺️

How did your return to work go @TantricTwist?

It's the last day of the hols here and I'm planning to have a fairly chilled day with the DCs, going into town for lunch (which messes up my SD plans but it's one last day!) and getting DS's hair cut.

I got some admin and chores out of the way yesterday so I can mostly focus on being with the DCs today.

I weighed myself today and I'm very happy that my weight is now the lowest it's been since Dec 23rd! I'm now right in the middle of my 2lb happy zone. Only a pound to go and I'll be at the bottom of it.

It's made me decide to do this after every holiday (make a conscious effort to get back to my usual weight), I'm certain I'd have never put that whole 25lb on if I'd just done that!

B: fast
L: something like vegetable rice in town
D: roast veg & chick pea pasta with kale (didn't have it the other day when planned)

This will likely be around 1100 cals if I'm sensible with portion sizes and no snacks.

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 07/01/2020 13:54

Afternoon!

@Seer , I'm sure the single bag of crisps won't make a difference, however like you if it wasn't in my plan I'd feel a bit 🤦🏼‍♀️. I'm a classic do as I say not as I do sort of personal 😳😬. Enjoy your lunch! Also i agree it's not wise to take your eyes off the scales though it probably doesn't need to be as regular.

DC back at school today, was little bit of a struggle to get up after us all being off for 2 weeks! As soon as they were off to school I took the dog out for an 8.5 mile walk, which took about 1 hour 45 minutes. Mixture of terrain. I've managed 18,100 steps so far today. Yesterday I walked 10 miles. I am only able to get this sort of mileage in on my days off provided we have no real plans. This evening 8s back to chauffeur service for DC and their sports training commitments.

DH and I have decided to finish up the Christmas cheeses so are going to have a rather unusual but 😋 dinner

B- cuppa
L- Vanilla and almond milkshake
D- Cheeses, Italian meats, chutneys and crackers

Enjoy your Tuesday everyone 😊

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 07/01/2020 16:58

Hi ladies. Sorry I've been MIA...just too much Christmas food! I've not been back to SW since before Christmas because I'm just absolutely skint but hopefully I'll be back next week.

I've restarted C25K last week and am hoping the exercise will help. I'm also doing Red January so doing some activity every day.

I've decided this is the year...if I've not made significant steps in my weight loss journey by December all my too small clothes are going. It's absolutely crunch time. Some haven't fitted me for nearly a decade and if I don't sort it this year I never will.

DottieLottie1 · 07/01/2020 17:29

HNY, @MyGhastIsFlabbered and welcome back! Once you get in the right headspace you can do it 😊

DottieLottie1 · 07/01/2020 19:51

Okey Dokey @Sarah......

RE-PORT-ED 😉

TantricTwist · 08/01/2020 00:40

I've slipped too @MyGhastIsFlabbered so also need to get back on track which I'm managing to do mainly because I've had a dodgy tummy the last couple of weeks so am literally too scared to eat much esp during the day.

B - Fast (coffee)
L - handful of brazil nuts approx 10 - tracker bar
D - 2 sausages, some chips and baked beans. Currently eating what's in the freezer to clear it all out.
Snacks - Apple, 6 squares of chocolate from a JL Chocolate hamper, packet of crisps, Glass of OJ

So 1300 cals - not great, loads of snacking, should have had a better lunch but I was out for the day working but not my normal working day and had no access to food I actually wanted other than what was already in my bag.

Seer · 08/01/2020 08:45

Morning all! And happy new year and welcome back @MyGhastIsFlabbered ! You can do this!

@TantricTwist that's not a bad number of cals at all. When I eat more than planned I remind myself that I'll still be at a cal deficit and will lose weight, worst case it'll just be more slowly than I'd choose!

@DottieLottie1 haha at you not taking your own medicine! 😀 At least if we all keep giving each other wise words that we don't personally take heed of then hopefully we listen to each other and it balances out!

My first day back at work today. I've had a client move her session to tomorrow so it's a nice quiet day today. I'm going to use the time to catch up on doing something for work that I usually do at the beginning of each month (which sadly, too outing to say here!)

B: fast
L: homemade clear veg soup
D: v sausage & lentil casserole, roast potatoes, kale

Should be an easy 1k cals

Have a fab day all! ☺️

DottieLottie1 · 08/01/2020 08:54

1300 calories isn't bad @TantricTwist! How many calories do you think you need to be able to lose, maintain and gain? For me its 1600.

Woke up with achey legs. That'll be the 19.5 miles covered I the last 2 days 😂

Back to work today and feeling slightly glum after so much time off 😳 . I've not even got a full week ahead due to our uk weekend away 🙄.

Double shift today. Plan on getting a little bit of walking in between them. I also need to run a few errands. Will grab a hot drink from a coffee shop. Home late evening.

B- cuppa
L- coconut milk based hot chocolate, raspberries
D- roast chicken salad and pitta.

I will more than likely add in a few extra pieces of fruit too.

How are you all? Enjoy your Wednesday 😊

MrsGrindah · 08/01/2020 09:24

Morning all. Feeling v good this week although I want to get my general calorie intake lower. That’s the challenge for next week!

Had a rest day from exercise yesterday so back to kettlebells and hula hooping today. I can feel those kettle bells!

We had an entirely vegetarian day yesterday which is unheard of for Mr G. He went to bed grumbling that it could have done with a side order of a steak pie!

@DottieLottie1 Can I ask you a question re Levi’s? Did you notice if their styles have stretch in them? I really don’t want a pair of stretchy jeans, I want proper unforgiving denim!

DottieLottie1 · 08/01/2020 09:37

@MrsGrindah, yes they do have stretch. I remember back in the day when denim was just denim, the rigid stuff!
