Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

@Seer, you can buy tickets (unless session is fully booked) at the desk at the entrance to the rink. Quite pricey but as your aware everything is at there! Yes, I know which designer village your talking (the one that was called FP but now B?), I'm due a visit, might try for Jeans in Gap or Hollister.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 29/12/2019 10:14

Placemarking

DottieLottie1 · 29/12/2019 10:15

@Seer, we've been ice skating at that place every year for the last 8 years so must be ok! The session we chose was a but busy, I'd say there are too many people on the ice. I think you would be able to find a quite time possibly thurs/fri next week? Music was good, 80s inspired 😀

DottieLottie1 · 29/12/2019 10:16

Quiet not quite 🙄

Seer · 29/12/2019 17:08

I hadn't even realised it had changed names @DottieLottie1 and we go there fairly often!

It was a successful trip for all... ds got his football boots and I got a leopard print dress in French Connection. Was £85 and in the sale for £19! And in a size 10 which seems to be my usual dress size once more 🙏

Also realised today how normal it now feels to only have two meals a day and how much that helps me to maintain.

Fasting through breakfast and eating lunch and dinner has been my weekday habit off and on for years but in 2018 I had drifted back to eating breakfast more often. Now it doesn't even cross my mind to eat breakfast on normal weekdays.

And then at weekends when I tend to eat breakfast, I would usually eat lunch and dinner too. When I started secret dieting I knew I had to miss lunch to keep within calorie allowance but I found it harder than missing breakfast even tho I wasn't really hungry.

Now it just feels 'right'. Two meals a day is plenty for me! I feel so grateful to have got to this point. I feel like I've cracked the code! 😀

I love ice skating and we have an outdoor rink just down the road really and I still havent managed it. DD has been several times though. DS hates it as he always falls flat on his arse Grin

I tried the veggie thing again today but with less oil, just used the frylight stuff and it wasnt nearly as nice, but still tasty. I then had some smoked salmon with pikelets from Waitrose, which are like large blinis only far more delicious.

I'm pleased you both like and own a Lumea. I spent ages trying mine out today, fingers crossed it should work well as I fall into the correct skin and hair category for it.

I'm hoping to be able to run into the sea at a moments notice this summer for a change, that would just be amazing.

TantricTwist · 29/12/2019 19:37

Size 10 that's great @Seer

And @DottieLottie1 you'll be back on it in no time, esp with your hols coming up, so exciting.

I can't do breakfast either and if I try to it just doesn't work for me. At a push I'll have an apple and that's it. I have lost my way a bit so I'm back on MFP and better food choices.

Seer · 30/12/2019 09:31

Thank you @TantricTwist ! My measurements are a real mix (eg my bust measures as size 14 tho it's all boobs so a 14 is too big for my shoulders and rib cage). I'd say I'm more a size 10-12 but I have always been a 10 in dresses, as long as there's stretch/room around the chest, so it feels so good to be back to 'normal'.

I'm still having to train myself out of picking up bigger sizes to try on even tho it's been less than a year of my life where I needed to do that!

(It's also so good to have you back!)

Meeting up with family friends for a long dog walk later. I'm going to try to make progress on an overdue writing project before we go too.

B: bagel with tapenade and tomatoes
L: fast
D: roast veg pasta

Will aim to keep cals to 1200.

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

Seer · 30/12/2019 09:33

@TantricTwist when I'm roasting veg and trying to cut calories I roast them in a cupful of veg bouillon instead, they turn out surprisingly well

Morning all 🙂

Not much planned, just a day of catching up with the housework (woobloodyhoo!). DH and I are going to walk the mutt up to the bakers again via the post office, silly sod has left renewing his passport a little close for comfort 🙄. Once home it will be an afternoon and evening of movies. DC are preoccupied with catching up with their friends via social media, which I will allow on this occasion.

I normally jog on the spot when the ads come on tv or I'm waiting for the kettle to boil etc. Can't do that without husband thinking I'm mad! The DC have caught me once or twice with DD asking me if I needed the toilet or something. Should be easier from Thursday as DH back to work. Full routine resumes next Tuesday when DC go back to school. I dont return to work until the Wednesday and even then I've got 2 days off due to our weekend break!

B & L- fast
D- pesto pasta with Italian meats and breads
S- fruit

Should be sub 1000 calories

@Seer hope you fit in time for your writing project! @TantricTwist have you had any real time off over the festive period? And, how is the new job going?

Enjoy your Monday everyone 😊

Seer · 30/12/2019 09:51

Lastly, I've just jumped on the scales and I'm now only 1lb above my usual fluctuation high point (was 2lb above it on Friday).

I've been eating wisely + treats since Boxing Day so I'm pleased to see my weight is going back in the right direction without much effort.

OP posts:
Seer · 30/12/2019 09:53

I'm chucking at your 'secret exercising' now @DottieLottie1 😀

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 30/12/2019 12:29

Yes @Seer I lead a double life 😂😂😂

TantricTwist · 30/12/2019 17:44

@DottieLottie1 I just laughed out at your DD asking if you needed the loo when jogging on the spot, good job I wasnt drinking my tea at the time Grin

@Seer yes I've read that adding stock helps so I'm going to try that. At least you havent lost your boobs which is a good thing.

I have had a bit of time off, last weekend up till Christmas day, worked boxing day and the day after and now I'm off till Jan 6th but I'm still tired, so much so in fact I missed another social engagement with friends today, who I really wanted to catch up with. They think I should see my GP. I know it's because of work, being overweight and 50 next year. So I'm going to have to get back on the losing weight wagon.

B - Fast (was sleeping)
L - Some christmas pudding
D - will be smoked salmon and pikelets

snack will be an apple or 2 and maybe some walnuts and a glass of OJ

TantricTwist · 31/12/2019 01:51

I finally got round to reading the thread from where I last left off, and it was at exactly the time I started my new role, so no surprises there I guess, although why I did that I have no idea.

It was lovely reading all the posts though and @DottieLottie1 your predictive text errors crack me up, please never proof read Grin and I'm sorry your DR is your DM.

@Seer you look great in that photo btw and what exactly does your DH tell people you do for a living, do you both have to concoct a secret career just for appearances for his work colleagues Grin

DottieLottie1 · 31/12/2019 09:14

Morning!

@TantricTwist, I remember it was about the time you took o your new role. Didn't you also have a lovely 2 weeks testing out your gym membership? Once things settle down work wise and you get more used to it maybe you could start with one activity/class a week and then try and build it up a bit? Sorry your feeling a bit run down.

For me it's the last day of the festivities. Off to the capital (only live 20 miles outside the centre) and a day with the family having fun. Will grab a takeaway on the way home. Probably see in the NY sharing a couple of bottles of fizz with DH and maybe some amaretto.

I'll probably just stick to drinks whilst out to keep the calories down- well to keep them lower than they would otherwise be 😊. I've actually gone over calories twice over the xmas period, mainly booze! I've been under 1000 calories for 3 of those days and about 1800 for another 2. I dont really know how much I consumed on Christmas day but I only ate dinner and was too full for pudding or munchies later! Definitely back on it tomorrow.

Any plans for tonight?

Seer · 31/12/2019 10:11

Whoop whoop! I'm almost back into my acceptable fluctuation zone again! Just 2 ounces to go!

I'm going to keep up daily weighing until I've hit the bottom of my zone again, not least because I have a photo shoot mid-jan... talk about motivation! Maybe I'll do one this time every year 😀

Thank you @TantricTwist, it always feels weird that we don't really know what we all look like!

Dh blusters and comes up with a different description of my work every time he talks about me! He sometimes worries that my/its image is too 'out there' but he also gets that it's perfect for the right kind of person. He actually recommends me/my work quite often to high level peers at his company so he can't be that embarrassed!

I hope you pick up soon. Hopefully this rest will do you good.

@DottieLottie1 that sounds like a lovely plan for today! Hope you have fun!

On NYE we always get together with a group of friends, it's the same four couples (tho the male partner within the couples have varied with breakups and new relationships over the years!) plus all our children (again, growing with extra children that come with the new partners every year!), usually at our house but this year at another couple's, and have quite a mad one with a quiz, dressing up, pot luck, drinking, dancing etc.

What are you up to Tantric, @MrsGrindah @Threadbaretoe @MyGhastIsFlabbered and co?

We're heading into town shortly to return unwanted presents and to pick up the ingredients I need to make for the potluck tonight. We're having breakfast at a cafe there too.

B: avo on sourdough
L: fast
D: will eat, drink and make merry!

I will eat and drink a zillion calories but will also dance like mad too so at least some will get burned off!

No idea what to wear tonight yet but I remember this time last year I was starting to get conscious of my bigger size and didn't feel fully happy despite having a really gorgeous new dress. This year I will be celebrating having my body back, no matter what I wear!

Have a wonderful New Year's Eve all! See you next year! 😘

P.S: any resolutions?

OP posts:
Seer · 31/12/2019 10:12

Wow that was a long one! 😀

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 31/12/2019 14:51

Yes I throughly enjoyed the gym especially all the classes. It was easier to do when I just had rows of days off, not so easy fitting it all in around work. I had planned to go now actually whilst I have a few days off but I can't find the energy. I have a bit of a tummy bug which I think is why I'm so run down at the moment.

I doubt I'll be going out tonight. Last year I went to a friends party, dragged there by my DD who wanted to go to, I did have an excellent time. Usually I go to a pub or 2 with the same group of friends and we end bumping into other friends which is nice and head off to a party maybe. We forget we're in our 40's and slip back into being 20 somethings again.
Pre kids we always went to the same friends house for years to celebrate NYE but her eldest was a tricky child, in her opinion, so that stopped, then we all had little ones and things change and evolve slightly.

Have a lovely NYE one and all and all the best in the New Year 🥂

Seer · 01/01/2020 11:35

Happy new year wonderful women!

I've got an awful hangover this morning but at least it was a brilliant night.

No real plans today other than recovering!

B: v cheese on a bagel
L: fast
D: a mini roast dinner if I pull myself together

How are you all faring?

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 01/01/2020 14:18

Happy New Year Everyone!

@Seer, well done on getting your weight back down so quickly!

Brilliant day yesterday, 15,000 steps achieved. Spent £££ tho 😱 but totally worth it. I didnt eat much whilst out, I had one of those hot chocolates from a chocolate fountain at a Christmas market stall and 1 cinnamon churros. Diner was from the chippy. Then it all went wrong! Lots of fizz, 1 tiny measure of disarano (probably a real single measure) 3 small chocolates and an individual christmas cake that's about 500 calories!

I Don't feel hungover, just guilty and like I've way overindulged 😔. I'm frightened of the damage done! I'm also aware I'm probably being silly and this mustn't become an obsession 😬.

I'm just about to go for a walk with DH and the dog and dinner tonight is chicken salad in pitta.

Brunch- Vanilla and almond milkshake
D- Roast chicken in pitta and salad

That's 983 calories, so a good start to get back on the wagon!

Have a great New Years day all 😊

DottieLottie1 · 01/01/2020 14:21

Tell a lie that 823 calories

MrsGrindah · 01/01/2020 18:15

Right everyone..Happy New Year and I’m back for good.Great to read how you are all quickly getting back in the zone...hope that happens to me!
No booze today and did half hour of hula hooping.
Been a grazing day but no more than 1000 calls
Unfortunately time of the month and v painful so not feeling great but I
will be ok tomorrow.
Not weighing fir a while because I know it will mess with my head.

Was a bit disappointed when I met up with people that nobody commented on my weight loss....well I’m determined they will soon. Have booked a holiday in March so that’s my new goal.

Good to be back and good luck everyone

TantricTwist · 01/01/2020 18:24
