Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

Have a great one, I'm guessing we're all going to be a bit busy in the coming days. I will try to post though! We also take votes for takeaway each Saturday @Seer!

MrsGrindah · 24/12/2019 17:03

Hello everybody. I have felt a bit guilty about coming on here after a long absence. I will be truthful because you have all been so lovely and supportive.

It started with me just getting locked out of MN cos I’d changed my email , forgot my passwords etc. Then I went off MN a bit cos of some of the really vile name calling on all sides in the run up to the election. Made me think why did I want to get involved in a site that tolerates that.

Then I’ve been struggling with my grief.Lost both parents nd this is only the second Xmas without them so not much enthusiasm for anything.

But I didn’t want to lose touch so I hope you forgive me for being a fair weather friend. I have lost 12 pounds now so half a stone to go although I’ve been stuffing myself these last few days.

I hope to get back on it in Jan and hope you will continue to let me take part.

Wishing you all a fab Christmas and a peaceful New Year

Seer · 24/12/2019 19:08

Lovely to have you back @MrsGrindah you're always welcome here ♥️

I rarely use MN (these days apart from this thread) so I've missed much of the election drama but I understand how that could get wearing.

That sounds like amazing progress on the weight front, well done! I feel like I'll need the support going into next year as I'm maintaining so you'll still have me here and I suspect the lovely @DottieLottie1 too

I really get it about how you're feeling about Christmas without your parents. I hope you're able to find moments of magic and love. Sending you lots of love ♥️

Welcome back @MrsGrindah and Merry Christmas! First of all well bloody done on those 12lbs 🙌🏼. I'm trying to relax a bit over Christmas but I've just smashed about 12 quality street in maybe 10 mins 😳but then it's not Christmas in this household without them 😜

Agree that the threads regarding the election were disgraceful, my oh my alot of bullyboys throwing their toys out of their pram! I keep my political opinions to myself, if I'm asked I will discuss but asked who I voted for I firmly say it's no ones business!

I'm also thinking of you regarding you missing your parents especially at this time of year. Its not the same but this is possibly the last Christmas I might spend with my poorly DR aka my mum. It's hard we will all make the most of what time we have left.

Have a good one x

MrsGrindah · 24/12/2019 20:39

Aw thank you. Don’t know why I’d got myself worked up about it but I didn’t want you to think I hadn’t appreciated your support xxx ( and I don’t care of kisses aren’t allowed on MN!)

DottieLottie1 · 24/12/2019 20:44

😂, I dont mind sharing the odd 😘!

Seer · 25/12/2019 10:05

Merry Christmas lovely ladies of Levi! ♥️

I had to share this... dh, who didn't notice 2018's weight gain or 2019's weight loss (afaik), bought me a dress for Xmas. It's a size 10 and cotton (ie no stretch).

So dh oblivious to all of this, has bought me a dress thinking 'that's dw's size', which last xmas would have been 2 sizes too small and now... fits perfectly!

It feels so symbolic and such a milestone.

Thank you so much to you all for your support and inspiration, I very much suspect that dress would have been a returner if it wasn't for you.

Particular thanks to @DottieLottie1 my stalwart companion through the daily grind, plateaus and celebrations all. You've been amazing! 🌟

P.S. @TantricTwist, if you ever read this... thank you to you too, angel. We still miss you loads and you're always welcome back. ♥️

Merry Christmas everyone Xmas Smile esp to my lovely @Seer and Dottielottie1

I'm so very sorry I abandoned you all. It was a real struggle to stick to any diet after I started my new role. I've settled in now and I've got a few days off over Christmas although I'm working tomorrow and the next day.

I'll be back on track in the New Year or possibly even from now onwards. I think I've managed to not put on too much weight but I certainly havent lost any. Too tired to go to the gym sadly and annoyingly even though I really want to.

I'll have a full read of the thread soon and find out how you are all doing and pull my head out of the sand.

Seer · 25/12/2019 10:28

Ah, i'm SO pleased to hear from you and to know you're ok @TantricTwist ! That's a Christmas present right there! 💝

We'll all be right back to it together after Christmas. ☺️

Yes we will, and thank you for not giving up on me Crown Smile I really appreciate it 🥰

DottieLottie1 · 26/12/2019 14:36

Yay! Welcome back @TantricTwist 😀

So yesterday I had Christmas dinner with all the trimmings but my portion size was reasonable 😉 I didn't have room for Christmas pudding though! Then a little cheese later on in the day. However I did sink ALOT of 🥂🍾 , so my calories would have been high 😬 Oh well, it is Christmas! I did get my 10,000 steps in, so at least that's a bonus.

Today I'm out with family for late lunch/dinner. Then I'm back on it. Weigh in tomorrow, not sure what to expect.

Happy boxing day 😊

TantricTwist · 26/12/2019 14:44

Hi lovely 👋

I didnt eat too much either yesterday or drink for that matter, which is a miracle for me over the Xmas hols, as I was out and driving early today to get back home on time.

Happy Boxing Day to you too 🤩

Seer · 26/12/2019 16:45

Happy Boxing Day all ☺️

After family comings and goings this morning it's been a chilled day of reading, playing games and now watching a Xmas special before I put dinner on.

Today I've had bubble and squeak and baked beans for breakfast, a handful of crisps and a couple of choc truffles, and will be having mash, cold 'meat' and pickles shortly.

Although I've been eating whatever I fancy, I'm sure it's less than previous years.

I'm due to weigh myself tomorrow but I'm in two minds about whether to give myself a week off and start again in the new year.

Have a lovely evening all. ☺️

OP posts:
Seer · 27/12/2019 09:03

Morning all ☺️

So I did weigh myself this morning... I've put on 2lb (over my usual highest fluctuation point). That felt weird to see on the scales even though it was expected. Some of it may well be the food I ate yesterday still going around my system too.

My plan now is to eat intuitively until NYE, I don't expect I'll lose any but I won't gain either. I'll no doubt eat and drink lots on NYE and NYD and then I'll take stock after that and decide whether I want to secretly diet again until I'm back at my desired weight or eat intuitively for a week first and then see.

We have a visitor-free day today after current ones leave and before more visitors descend tomorrow so will be getting back to normality... long dog walk, healthy food, little-to-no alcohol, kettlebells, maybe we'll nip into town.

B: will eat breakfast with departing visitors, probably a bagel with v cream cheese or tapenade
L: fast
D: don't know yet but maybe roast veg and bean tacos or home-made pizza

How are you all faring in these calorific times?! 😀

DottieLottie1 · 27/12/2019 10:06

Morning!

I was designated driver yesterday so kept to Pepsi Max. I had a sharing starter (nachos) with the DC and my main was steak and chips. I was totally full so no dessert even though I went fully intending to! That was all I had the entire day so maybe the damage from Christmas Eve & Day will be miimalized? I'm about to take to the scales so will report back. I feel a bit 'fuller'.....

Today's plans are a visit to the supermarket for a few bits and then a family cinema trip followed by takeaway. I'll fast until dinner. I might have a drink tonight. I think my diet will go back to my new normal from Sunday apart from NYE, which will probably be takeaway a s booze again.

Right, I'm a bit scared but the scales are beckoning.... I know I'm going to be disappointed even though I few pounds gained in inevitable 😬

DottieLottie1 · 27/12/2019 10:25

As expected I've gained 2lbs since last Friday. So, not quite as bad as I was fearing. It could also be a bit of water weight, hoping I can shoddy it in the next couple of weeks. I'm going Levi shopping next week too!

Seer · 27/12/2019 10:38

We're 2lb twins then @DottieLottie1, I'm sure we'll both lose it again fast tho.

What's your ideal weight now?

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 27/12/2019 10:39

Shift it not shoddy 🙄

DottieLottie1 · 27/12/2019 10:45

@Seer, I'm happy ish at 10 stone which was my original goal. Before my weight gain I was 9st since a teen. 9st now would be too slim (o ly 1lb inside healthy bmi). So the 9st 6 I was last week was perfect. Cross fingers I'll get back there quickish. I've got 7 weeks until my holiday. I've also forgotten I'm away for the weekend (uk break) in 2 weeks time, but it involves alot of walking whi h 🤞🏻 counters the calories!

I'm sure we can do it!

Seer · 28/12/2019 09:40

Morning! ☺️

So last night was Friday which I'd forgotten when I posted here in the morning... so we had a takeaway! I'm deffo not weighing myself again today!

More relatives (in laws) arrive today and I'm not quite sure what we'll be doing yet.

B: vBLT
L: fast
D: don't know yet, it might be we go to the cinema so I'll only have a light snack as I'll want popcorn!

Oh my first compliment/observation from dh about the 25lb weight loss has happened!

I was doing kettlebells and he said "They seem to be paying off, you've slimmed right down"

I felt a bit defensive about him thinking I was big before (any wonder he's not said anything before? 😆) but managed to contain it and just said that "yes my core is the best it's been since I had the children." (True)

He must think the kettlebells have worked miracles all on their own 😀

What are your plans today?

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 28/12/2019 17:33

Did you both see anything good at the Cinema?

Lol at your DH finally noticing your weight loss @Seer

A weekend break sounds fab @DottieLottie1 a holiday from the festive holidays, god knows we all need that, lol.

I slept in today as I worked yesterday and the day before. I roasted some carrots, parsnips, onions and sprouts in the oven with garlic and nutmeg and drizzled some lemon on after, it was delicious and filling.

The plan was to make soup out of it all but decided that cutting and roasting was less hassle. Will make the soup another day and add some potatoes to thicken it up a bit.

I plan to swim more so have bought one of those Philips Lumea IPL gadgets in the sale so hopefully I can swim on a whim as opposed to be put off by all the hair removal 🙄🤪

DottieLottie1 · 29/12/2019 07:59

Morning!

TantricTwist we saw Star Wars, I'm a bit of a fan 😳. Your roasted vegetable ensemble (minus sprouts for me 🤢) sounds 😋, might give it a go myself- takes me back to your ratatouille! I've got a Lumea, its brilliant if you've got the right hair/skin colourings. I've become a little lax with mine, I should get it out again as I stopped a little early on a certain area 😂.

Seer 🤣 that your DH has apparently noticed! Is he eyeing up your kettlebells? 😉. My DH hasnt said anything outright but keeps making the odd comments, he knows!

I'm going to hazard a guess that I'll put on a bit more weight between now and next weigh in (friday). Mainly because we are so out of routine. I'd be lying to say it's not bothered me 😔. I dropped a little extra weight to give me a bit of leeway for Christmas gain, but I've got a slight panic I will slowly put it all back on as I've broken my new habits! Will (hopefully) get back on it from NYD. I would like to be around 9st 4/5 lb by the time we go on our big holiday. I suspect I will gain on holiday too!

Yesterday, we went ice skating @Seer you can probably guess where! Today will be a lazy one bar the dog walk part. Dinner will be a roast. I'll do a double fast today. Calories around 1200.

Up to anything interesting? Enjoy your Sunday everyone 😊

Seer · 29/12/2019 09:01

Morning! ☺️

Star Wars here too! I enjoyed it even tho the reviews have been mixed.

I love roast veg too @TantricTwist, the taste is mysteriously incredible! I sometimes roast a batch and have it with my miso or salad for lunch.

Dh already goes to a gym @DottieLottie1 so i guess he takes the credit for inspiring the kettlebells... tho I think he's surprised that my 10 min home workout is producing such amazing results compared to his (v expensive) hour long sessions 😀

Your will is so iron strong I'm sure you'll snap straight back into your routine after in the new year.

Enjoy ice skating! Dd keeps asking if we can go. Did you have to book in advance?

Dh wants to do a family ski lesson over the hols. We have friends with a lodge in Sweden we can use so I can see why that would make sense but it doesn't appeal to me all that much!

Not sure of plans yet today tho dh and ds are wanting to go to the 'designer village' near us (you can probably guess Dottie) to spend Xmas money on sports gear.

B: bagel with tapenade and tomatoes
L: fast
D: home made pizza

Will aim to keep it lowish cals as yesterday turned out much higher than planned.

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

Seer · 29/12/2019 09:02

Sorry I misread the ice skating and thought you were going today not had already been @DottieLottie1 ! How was it?

OP posts:
Seer · 29/12/2019 09:03

Oh and I'm also a Lumea fan but I need to get back on it!
