Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

Yay, well done @MrsGrindah!!! Glad you enjoyed your birthday and still saw a lost. Just shows us that as long as you watch what you eat the majority of the time its fine to let your hair down on special occasions. 😊

DottieLottie1 · 01/11/2019 07:23

Morning all, just woken up and contemplating the day ahead. Plans for today- this morning visit my DR who is still poorly but fighting on regardless. This arvo I need to go to the supermarket for a couple of bits (whoop whoop!) and then get the dog out.

B & L will be a fast as D is chilli and rice. Friday also = Prosecco 😁

Managed 6 miles of walking yesterday which included smooching the shops, taking g the dog for a walk and trick & treating with my DNs.

I'm going to weigh myself I a bit so will repost then. Just waiting if i err hmm need any natural body movements first 😳 TMI

Any more interesting than my plans today anyone?

Enjoy your Friday all 😊

DottieLottie1 · 01/11/2019 07:24

Why I was smooching the shops I have no idea 🙄

MrsGrindah · 01/11/2019 07:49

Morning Dottie Good luck with the weigh in!

I’m working from home today which is good cos the weather is foul. Getting ready for DSD visiting this weekend so cleaning and cooking!

I plan to fast this morning. Lunch will be soup and dinner likely to be some sort of fish! Hula hooping as usual. This is really paying off by the way..tummy looking quite toned.

Have a great weekend everybody

DottieLottie1 · 01/11/2019 08:02

@MrsGrindah Hula hooping seems like quite a good exercise especially as it's easily done around the house! As does your kettlebelling and stomach wotsits @Seer.

Just weighed and I've lost nada, it's not a gain so that good. I'm kind of getting used to a stall then a drop, so whilst I'm a little disappointed I know this happens despite sticking to plan religiously! I'm also comfortably sitting within my ideal BMI range so it will get harder. So, still 3 lbs Togo to get to my happy weight. My goal date was Halloween so although I didnt achieve that I'm not to disheartened as I've still lost over 3 stone in 5 months. I'll be there by christmas. On the plus my waist is at 27" now.

Seer · 01/11/2019 08:12

Great news @MrsGrindah ! The difference must really notice now.

@DottieLottie1 Your weight loss has been pretty fast all the way through! Your willpower is immense!

I suspect it's a combo of your height and body shape re the jeans. I have a long torso which probably makes mine the same length as yours and I have the same problem with high waisted jeans.

I had a Style Day with House of Colour where they measure you, tell you your body quirks and body shape. I'd really recommend it!

Come back @TantricTwist we miss you!

Working this morning then got guests coming for the weekend so will be doing stuff with them.

B: fast
L: rice, miso and veg
D: probably katsu curry and rice (out with friends)

Will aim for 1200 cals as we've got a little party here tomorrow (did I say there were no more parties? 🙈) and will probably eat and drink a fair bit!

Have a lovely day all Smile

Seer · 01/11/2019 08:20

Shame you haven't lost this week @DottieLottie1 but 27" waist is brilliant, especially at your height!

Re BMI, yes I suspect it must be harder for your body to let go of fat when you must have little left to lose now.

I'm just inside a healthy BMI, I only realised that yesterday, I'm not too convinced by BMI for me personally so hadn't been tracking it. I believe I look way more healthy than that tho!

And yes, I'm so glad I've found I enjoy kettlebells. Makes it so much easier to do something regularly when you can do it at home. My thighs are like steel from it!

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 01/11/2019 08:26

@Seer whilst my legs are quite long I'm also longer in the body in comparison to my legs! I was just a bit Confused as I pulled them up, they were slightly higher than my hipsters so I'd say mid- rise but sat a good couple of inches below my waist. In no way were they high rise let alone super high rise on me! They were sitting on a wider area so my 27" meant nothing- they did do up but looked silly! Think I will have to bin off that idea. Thanks for the body shape/styling recommendation too, will certainly look into it.

Enjoy your little party tomorrow!

MrsGrindah · 01/11/2019 17:42

tell you your body quirks

Well they’d have a field day with me. Legs like parsnips!

Haven’t done badly at all today
I slice toast
Soup
A small cheese sarnie with only one slice of bread....saving it fir wine!

DottieLottie1 · 01/11/2019 18:20

@MrsGrindah could be worse, legs like carrots would make me think of the added bonus of fake tan 🤣

DottieLottie1 · 02/11/2019 13:35

Morning.

I didn't sleep well and have been awake since 2 am 😔. At least I'm o annual leave today. Watched the World Cup final so feeling a but disappointed too!

Just went out with DD and she was helpful finding me some Jeans. Although my old ones fit they are worn and have a hole so the replacement pair are a stop gap for when I find my holy grail pair.

High street sizing is so hit and miss, even different styles in the same shop. I opted for some from H&M in the end as didnt want to spend £££s. I ended up with a size 10 high waisted style but they are mid rise on me.

I didn't really like any I tried on as all I could see were my flaws, well huge hips! But, at the same time I know I'm being ridiculous as the clothes sizing says different. I think because I was a 90s teen I grew up in the straight up and down supermodel era. I've somehow got to embrace my curves. Of course I look at curvy shapes and think they are stunning but for some reason not on me. My hips haven't slimmed down to what they were before I gained, but saying that I was a stone lighter then but I'm not intending to lose any more than my last 3 lbs. I've got to change the way I'm programmed.

My current measurements are-

Shoulders (this is important) 45"
Bust 34"
Waist 27"
Hips 38"

Well, its let my hair down Saturday. Had a coconut milk based hot chocolate about an hour ago. Dinner will be KFC. And some wine!

I'm not all glum, honest, just need a kick up the arse!

Enjoy your Saturday everyone 🙂

Seer · 03/11/2019 08:43

Morning ☺️

Sorry I was awol yesterday. I didn't get a moment to post what with guests here and then the party (that really is the last one now until the C word stuff starts up!)

Thankfully despite eating and drinking all manner of things my weight has stayed at the lower end of my plateau.

I'm going to get back into secret dieting properly this week and see if there's any shift.

@DottieLottie1 I can see why you were frustrated about the jeans but you really do have a to-die-for hip to waist ratio. It's exactly what I wish mine was!

I can totally see what you mean about your shoulder width now. You must cut a very striking model-like figure!

I'm guessing dressing similar to an hourglass makes most sense for you.

You just measure right around your body at the top of your shoulders right? If so, I've just measured to compare and I'm currently:

Shoulders 40
B: 38
W: 30
H: 39

No idea yet about plans for today as the guests will be leaving this morning and the DCs are at a party (the bouncy place again near you, Dottie!)

Will try to post later when I know. Have a great day everyone ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 03/11/2019 09:54

Morning🙂

@Seer your parties di sound great! I took my DC to that bouncy place on thursday too. Yes, I measured straight round my shoulders- tool of my trade after the years of training I did as a child and teen. I've kind of decided I'm probably a small busted hourglass as thats what my silhouette is most alike. If I didn't have hips then I'd make a good Inverted triangle.

I need to embrace my curves and change my mindset as my shape might get smaller, but it wont change!

Lazy day today. I've only just risen but that's because I slept so badly friday night. I will take the day as it comes, might take dog out with DH (the DDog is actually his!) And visit our local coffee shop. Other than that watch the footy later.

B- fast
L- coconut milk based hot chocolate
D- Roast Ham, potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding and peas

As long as I portion control the roast it should a 1000 cal day.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone😊

Seer · 03/11/2019 13:48

Ah yes that makes sense re your training @DottieLottie1 !

I've ended up fasting so far today as my tummy is a bit upset for some reason.

I feel pretty hungry but also don't feel like eating will be a good idea yet, iykwim?

I'm seeing it as a jump start to my week of weight loss 🙏

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 03/11/2019 14:35

@Seer maybe your tummy isn't used to being slightly over indulged now?!

DottieLottie1 · 04/11/2019 07:59

Morning!

Not back to work until Wednesday and as the weather is pants I thi k I'm going to have a relatively lazy day. Once kids are off to school I'll contemplate taking the dog out which needs to be done whatever. Other than that and a bit of housework (I'm generally on top of this as I clean etc as I go) I'll doss down and catch a movie before DC are back from school. I also need to make a start on my Christmas present shopping sooner rather than later.

I'll still aim to get 10000 steps in although I prefer to measure in distance so around 4.5 miles.

B- cuppa or 2
L- Vanilla and almond milkshake
D- pesto tagliatelle with goats cheese and Italian meats. Breadsticks

That's 975 cals.

I'm at that point now that I dont feel like I'm losing weight. These last few pounds may well be the hardest.

Have a more interesting day than me everyone, enjoy your Monday.

Seer · 04/11/2019 08:14

Morning! ☺️

You could be right @DottieLottie1 about my tummy, I'm no doubt eating small amounts of the same kind of food over and over lately until a party comes around and I eat all manner of weird things!

Do you work part-time or just different days?

I work part-time but just around school hours mostly. The holidays are a mash-up of different days and times - the beauty and the challenge of working for oneself!

I'm working today, quite an enjoyable day lined up actually with a lovely client and a new project.

Then usual school pick-up, walk dog etc.

B: fast
L: will make a big pan of veggie soup
D: going to make little chickpea or lentils and spinach pasties, potatoes and vegetables

Not sure yet on cals but will aim for 1k.

Have a lovely day! ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 04/11/2019 08:43

@Seer Im not vegetarian but I probably only eat meat 3 or 4 days out of 7. Your pasties sound lovely 😋

Yes, I work part-time 20 hours a week, set shifts weds- sat. I've been on annual for the past week. I actually worked more when my DC were younger but due to changes and redundancies my hours have changed a bit in recent years.

DottieLottie1 · 04/11/2019 14:41

I've gone for it today but I do have time on my hands which is a rarity. I'm already up to 13500 steps and 7 miles of walking today. Still got a bit to do. That's apparently 550 calories burnt, but as I've mentioned previously I never eat these calories back. I think I'd put on weight if I did.

Seer · 04/11/2019 15:59

Wow! That's a lot of steps and cals @DottieLottie1

I'll let you know how the pasties go down.

I'm hopeful of seeing a loss at last this week. I'm weighing low (in my plateau) given the weekend of partying! I would be very happy to just get to 155lb, which is only 3lb more. I think my tummy would basically be flat by then. Holy grail!

OP posts:
Seer · 05/11/2019 07:41

I'm finally down into the next pound! 🤩

I'm so pleased about that, especially as I'm due on and starting to feel the bloat creep on.

I've been visualising seeing this on the scales for so long it's amazing finally seeing it for real.

I'm going to aim for 155lb and then take stock. This last couple of pounds has been sooooo slow and I don't want to focus on my weight for much longer.

I'm now 157.8lb which means I've lost 12.8% of my body weight in the past 6 months!

I suspect this is the closest I've been to 11stone flat for at least 5 years, possibly since pre-children.

I'm going to try on an old fitted dress that I wore when I was perfectly slim 10 years ago - if that fits then I can safely say that I can now fit into everything in my wardrobe. The next thread will deffo be a maintenance/new jeans one!

Working all day today until 6 today. My afternoon is pretty exciting, sadly I can't say more because it would be outing. Imagine you get to spend time with one of your fave actors or singers... that's a similar kind of thing.

B: fast
L: home-made chunky vegetable soup
D: tofu and veg stirfry, rice and spring rolls

Should be an easy 1k

The pasties were a real hit @DottieLottie1, my daughter ate two and asked if we could have them again some time! Let me know if you want a rough recipe.

Have a fab day! 😊

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 05/11/2019 07:53

Morning.

Yay, well done @Seer 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 it pays off to stick with it but I know its frustrating at times. Yes, could you pass on the recipe please 🙂.

My plans for the day have changed as my DR is poorly again and I'm needed at the hospital which is in central london. This evening I need to get my DS to his training session in the town between us @Seer.

I managed just over 19000 steps yesterday which was just shy of 10 miles. It ended up being a day of thinking down to the situation above. According to MFP it apparently burnt 755 calories. Let's see if there is a shift on the s laws at the end of the week, though I could end up building muscle at this rate!

B- vanilla and almond milkshake
L- fast
D- Roast chicken in pitta with salad
S- fruit

Should close the kitchen on around 900 calories.

Have a good Tuesday all.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 05/11/2019 21:57

Hello everyone. I've tried sticking to low calorie by myself and been unable to do it so yesterday I rejoined Slimming World. I know it's not for everyone but it does work for me. I've got over 4 stone to lose though which appals me.

DottieLottie1 · 05/11/2019 22:39

Good on you and nice to have you back @MyGhastIsFlabbered , of course you choose a plan that you know will work for you. You can do it. I've lost just over 3 stone with a 3 lbs remaining over 6 months but I dropped the first 2 stone very quickly. The last few pounds are taking some ti.e to shift. I've recently upped my daily mileage where I can, bot so easy on a working day. I've always 'moved' but I'm now doing far more and i think the dogs enjoying it!

@TantricTwist where have you gone? We miss you 😢

MrsGrindah · 06/11/2019 06:26

Morning All! I’ve stayed at 10st 13 which is a bloomin miracle since I had family over and a meal out at the weekend.Feeling so good about myself though and starting to rediscover some old clothes.Away with work for next couple of days which will help cos I don’t have to be around food. Need to get back on the hula hooping though! Reckon my “test” trousers are only a couple of pounds away from fitting perfectly, but aware that might be a month away in reality.Hows everyone?
