Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

Yes but I will still be overweight at 10st 13... I need to lose another 8lb at least and at this rate it’s going to be 2020.

I’m going to be 50 in a weeks time . I’ve got a size 12 dress though..it’s snug but wearable. Ironically, I lost be going out for a meal. It will be hard . Lost both parents fairly recently so need to feel my best friend to feel strong enough to face it all if that makes sense?!

MrsGrindah · 18/10/2019 20:07

I will be going out for a meal not I lost ...bloody autocorrect

MrsGrindah · 18/10/2019 20:08

And feel my best not feel my best friend !!

Seer · 18/10/2019 20:32

Oh @MrsGrindah that sounds so tough. I've lost both of my parents quite close together too so I have some sense of how you feel. Birthdays never feel quite right without the people who brought you into the world there to celebrate it with you. Sending you lots of love.

You're doing so well, you're heading towards your goal and you will get there. Don't forget we're here to support you and cheer you on.

@DottieLottie1 Size 8s now?! Get out of here woman! 😀 seriously, that is incredible!

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 18/10/2019 20:49

I'm sorry to here that @MrsGrindah, it must be tough. As some of you may have guessed my poorly DR is one of my parents. They are not well at all 😔 You will do it, though it may take a little longer than planned. Its not unachievable! I, by BMI calculations was a stone in the overweight range 22 weeks ago and not far from obese! I've managed to drop 3 stone and im now sitting pretty middle of my BMI range.

Focus on the positive, you have started with a loss of 8 lb. Keep going it will happen!

DottieLottie1 · 18/10/2019 20:51

@Seer, I'm not a size 8! Honestly the sizing amongst differing brands/shops us outrageous. Comfortable size 10 in modern sizes ....

Seer · 19/10/2019 12:08

Happy Saturday all! ☺️

I wondered but didn't know for sure it was your parent @DottieLottie1 I can completely understand why you're feeling so stressed and upset by it all. Thanks

Relaxed start to the day here as both DC were out on sleepovers. Going to take them to see Maleficent later, otherwise not much planned. Has been a really busy week so looking forward to taking it easy.

B: v cheese on an ancient grains bagel
L: fast
D: v chicken burgers in wraps with salad and fries
Will have a small popcorn and some wine too

Not exactly the most nutritious of days! Guessing it'll be around 1500 cals.

I'm wondering whether to do a few longer fasts over the next couple of weeks - feels like I might need to do something to jumpstart the loss again.

What are your plans everyone? ☺️

OP posts:
Jaffacakebeast · 19/10/2019 15:39

I’m still calorie counting, a little below ‘target weight’ but body fat still high, trying to hit the gym on low calorie isn’t fun. Body fat just not shifting 😭

DottieLottie1 · 19/10/2019 16:16

My DD is desperate to see the new Maleficent movie too but will probably take her in the school holidays. Our half term is the 28th.

Up early to catch the rugby! Fasted breakfast and worked through lunch. Just got home and ordered pizza for tonight but at least swapped the cheese for low fat 😂

Snuggle up to watch a horror film tonight with a bot...glass or 2 of Prosecco 😳

Have a good Saturday all 😊

Seer · 20/10/2019 08:02

We loved Malificent @DottieLottie1 ! Angelina was brilliant in it.

I'm finally down another .5lb, not much but I'll take any loss. It's particularly meaningful on a Sunday after eating more than usual yesterday! It also flickered to the pound below so overall I'm feeling hopeful.

No plans yet today (still in bed) but probably a combo of chores around the house/garden (still a surprising number of flowers blooming!), walking the dogs and taking it easy.

B: something like a v BLT
L: fast
D: maybe a roast

What are you all up to? ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 20/10/2019 10:18

Morning!

Just dropped DS at training and will go and pick him up in a couple of hours. Enjoying the rugby with a Vanilla and almond milkshake and cup of tea. Other than that just taking the dog out and prepping for our lasagne tonight. Plus I'm wearing the dubious size 6 GAP Jean's 😂 Must be a 10!

DottieLottie1 · 21/10/2019 06:57

Morning all.

Early rise for no particular reason, strange as I've got the opportunity for a lay in!

I'm about to make a cuppa before I wake the DC. Does anyone else have teenagers that sleep through their alarms even when they are at full volume right next to them? Saying g that I remember being the same! 😳

Not much planned today which is lovely. I will take dog out for a long walk and need to get the weekly shop done. Other than that I think I'll bunk down in front of the TV and watch cheesy movies (I was going to mention the C word but dont know if that will go down well!😂).

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- Fast
D- pesto pasta verde with bread and balsamic oil. .maybe some olives
S- Fruit

Should be around 1000.

Have a lovely Monday 😊

Seer · 21/10/2019 07:16

Morning ☺️

That sounds like a lovely day @DottieLottie1, hope you find something perfectly cheesy to watch!

Mine aren't teens yet but I suspect my DS will take after me and be a heavy sleeper and late riser! We all overslept last week (alarm clock set wrong) and my 9yo DD had to wake us both up!

Usual work, dog walk etc today

I want to do more regular longer fasts (eg 24 hour fast once a week, longer fasts every month) for both overall well-being and losing the last lbs of fat, so I'm trying having only fruit for lunch as a step in that direction.

B: fast
L: fruit
D: spaghetti and v meatballs, broccoli, chard

Have a lovely day all ☺️

OP posts:
Seer · 21/10/2019 07:17

Oh and cals should be sub-1k

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 21/10/2019 07:50

That's brave regarding the fasting @Seer. Though I dont think it's a bad idea provided you've got it under control. I think if I tried that I could become obsessive. I do think I'm a little OCD but recognize it and can laugh at myself too!

Also, I keep meaning to ask you which miso soup do you make or is it your own recipe? Ditto Asian dumplings....

Seer · 21/10/2019 09:07

You have rare cast iron willpower and focus too @DottieLottie1 !

I can stick to habits but it takes a LOT of conscious effort to focus on it until it's become autopilot, or I'll get bored/interested in something else and wander off! My dh and biz partner both separately described my attention span in the same day as "Oh look! There's a squirrel!" 😀

Re miso: either clearspring or Miso Tasty, they come as paste in jars, usually in the aisle near rice etc (you mix a tablespoon with water to make the soup) or sometimes I use Marigold bouillon instead for a change.

Re dumplings: Itsu Asian veg dumplings in the freezer section of most supermarkets

I love this as a lunch as even tho it's low cal the water in the miso makes it really filling and it's nutritious and tasty!

DottieLottie1 · 21/10/2019 09:14

Thanks @Seer I'm considering this option to add into my diet for lunch once I start (well at least try) to maintain.

DottieLottie1 · 21/10/2019 14:23

I've taken the dog out but only did 3 miles. When I got back I decided it would be a clever idea to up my level of activity and added another 2000 steps by running circuits around the ground floor which is actually quite a good work out (i discovered my house has a good layout for such a workout😂). I also ran on the spot at a quick rate (at least for me) for a further 10 mins. If anyone saw me through the windows they must have thought I was a mad! Dont care though 🤣 I've put a xmas movie on now (time for me to get in the mood sorry 😉😁😂), kick back and relax time. 😊

DottieLottie1 · 22/10/2019 07:11

Morning.

Having a cuppa before I wake DC as they dont budge for their alarms! Day off. Need to go to out of town shopping area to get some Tupperware, exciting 😳😂. I'm going to take dog out for a longer walk today. The usual laundry and housekeeping jobs to be done. Might treat myself to another cheesy movie before kids back from school. Then the usual chauffeuring service for DS to training. @Seer, I walked past your favourite chinese restaurant yesterday as I did some banking at the building society a few doors up- thought if you at the time!

It's gone incredibly quiet on this thread, is everyone ok @TantricTwist @MrsGrindah @MyGhastIsFlabbered @Threadbaretoe ? Hope I'm not boring you with my daily plans, to be fair they are rather dull 😬😳 Maybe we should get back on the subject for our quest for Levi's, I might purchase the 711s rather than 501s....

Brunch- Vanilla and almond milkshake

Dinner- Roast chicken in pitta and salad

Snacks- Blueberries, sugar free gummies

Enjoy your Tuesday 😊

Seer · 22/10/2019 07:45

Morning! ☺️

You've made me fancy Chinese now @DottieLottie1!

On the topic of 501s, I had a browse through the Levi's when I was in John Lewis recently. There were so many choices and the waist size I used to buy (I think it was a 28" waist) looked so small!

I will deffo need to get to my goal waist and some Levi's buying guidance before I'm even ready to try on a pair!

Changing things up today as I'll work until 3pm and then I'm going with a friend and the DCs into London to watch something at a theatre.

Great timing to be out of the house as we have a planned powercut all evening!

The fruit worked well for lunch yesterday - I felt surprisingly satiated. Not sure whether to have that again today or have a more filling lunch as dinner will be a sandwich or something en route to London.

B: fast
L: either fruit or some left over pasta
D: wrap, fruit, carrot sticks and hummus

Regardless, I'll keep to 1k cals again.

Oh and my weight keeps fluctuating more down to my lowest weight and flickering to the pound below so I feel like a loss is in sight! 🙏

Have a lovely day! ☺️

DottieLottie1 · 22/10/2019 13:05

@Seer when I tried on my old favourite Jean's they looked wayyyy to small but they went on, not comfortably but they went on and did up! They wouldn't have got past my thighs a couple of months ago.

Just back from taking the dog out and I managed 5.2 miles and 11,000 steps do far today! Feeling motivated, apparently it means I've burnt 378 calories from exercise. I never eat them back though all the more reason to be more relaxed co.e the weekend!

Enjoy your evening out, I'm assuming west end?

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 23/10/2019 04:47

Thanks for checking up on me. Had an absolute shitstorm few weeks and my diet has been the last thing on my mind. As a consequence I'm back where I started and more. I'm caught in a vicious cycle of feeling shit about my weight so thenI'm comfort eating. I don't know how to break it.

DottieLottie1 · 23/10/2019 08:15

Sorry to hear you've had a few roughFlowersFlowers weeks @MyGhastIsFlabbered 😔 You will find the right mindset at some point. I buried my head on the sand, I kind of new I'd put some on but it was the revelation I was not just a bit overweight but verging on obese. It was a lightbulb moment. Flowers

DottieLottie1 · 23/10/2019 08:16

Aargh, they were supposed to be flowers but I see bottles of gin!!! I'm not using MN emojis anymore 😡

DottieLottie1 · 23/10/2019 08:58

Off to work shortly, double shift. Started the day with a cup of tea.

Will go for a walk between shifts, I might grab a coconut milk based hot chocolate. If not I'll pick up a protein shake and some fruit for lunch. Dinner will be jacket with pineapple cottage cheese and salad.

Wednesday = midweek Prosecco which will be accompanied with tonight's episode of The Apprentice 😁

Will hit 1200 calories
