Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

Oh No @MrsGrindah sounds stressful hope your job is safe though.

Seems incredible to think that the BA pilots who get paid a ridiculous amount anyway lost pretty much the same amount of £££ due to striking, that Thomas Cook needed to save everyones jobs.

Seer · 27/09/2019 13:27

I'm so sorry to hear that @MrsGrindah, have you lost your job or could it still work out OK for you?

Maybe we just need to arrange to actually meet @DottieLottie1 instead of all these weird near misses 😀

MrsGrindah · 27/09/2019 14:17

My job is fine..actually don’t work for Thomas Cook but my job is affected. Hugely grateful for how lucky I am. We are running around trying to support the aftermath though, hence all the struggling to stick to the plan this week. That’s my excuse anyway!

DottieLottie1 · 28/09/2019 07:55

Morning 🙂

I assume your just up to your eyeballs with work @MrsGrindah which brings it's own stresses. It will settle in time, but make sure you look after yourself too.

Slept well but seem to have come down with a cold, my job isn't a great one to have when you feel ill due to the working environment. Added to feeling generally rubbish I don't get sick pay. I also wont be able to visit my poorly relative as they are immuno compromised. 😔

Working late morning through to early evening so a double fast is easy. Saturday is takeaway night in this house so whilst the others will have Chinese I'm going for fish n chips! With a few bubbles itll be a 1500 cal day.

Have a good day everyone 😊

TantricTwist · 28/09/2019 10:03

@DottieLottie1 look after yourself - keep hydrated my lovely

@MrsGrindah take care of yourself and deep breaths when it gets on top of you - we've got your back

I'm in the gym car park about to go in for a step class followed, if I have the energy, by a couple of more gentle classes as I'm already here and DD is away and I've just dropped DS nearby for most of the day

B - fast
L / salad and toast probably
D - rice and chicken maybe ?

TantricTwist · 28/09/2019 14:27

Wow I spent 3 whole hours doing classes and now my tummy is rumbling after only drinking coffee and water so far today no food as yet. I will probably ache a bit tomorrow. During step class I was a bit all over the place but no more really than some of the others, but managed to keep up most of the time which I'm relieved about. Pilates was ofcourse lovely and relaxing. Just showered and off to pick up DS where I'll eat an apple on the way. Don't want to undo all the good work, the girl next to me showed me her fitbit watch and it said she'd burned over 500 calories so I'll take that Grin

MrsGrindah · 28/09/2019 17:02

Thanks all for your messages of support. Much appreciated,

I seem to be stuck at 11.3 but I know if I keep going it will move again. DH said he can tell I’ve lost weight

B- cheese omlette
L - ham on crisp bread and yogurt
D - will be chicken salad and some wine.

How do you all deal with the weekend demons? I find the lack of routine makes me absentmindedly nibble

DottieLottie1 · 28/09/2019 17:23

@MrsGrindah I relax a bit at the weekends, with a takeaway and some wine so I'm hitting up to about 1600 cals on sat and sundays. In comparison my weekdays can be hardcore sometimes as low as 800 but generally nearer 1000. I'm probably doing the 5:2 without realising! I'm not a snacker which is handy. I'm also in the zone, so my willpower is great at the moment, another handy thing.

Thanks @TantricTwist coped at work but I'm so sleepy! If you wake achey you know it's worth it 🙂

Right off to order that takeaway 😋

Seer · 28/09/2019 18:11

Belated hello all!

Had a lovely lazy morning and then went to pick DD up from a party in another town, then been cooking for a get together with friends tomorrow.

B: v BLT
L: soya hot chocolate
D: 2 v hotdogs (only half a roll as I didn't fancy more), small handful fries, corn cob (not exactly healthy but my family wanted junk food)

Off to some thing at the village hall tonight which would be way to outing to explain! 😀Will likely have some crisps and wine there.

Imagine it'll be a 1500 cal day.

@MrsGrindah I'm similar to @DottieLottie1 I'm that I'm not much of a snacker anyway but I do eat more at weekends (around 1500 cals usually compared to around 1k in the week) which usually gets used up on wine, takeaway and having breakfast.

@TantricTwist sounds like you're having a wonderful start at the gym ☺️

@DottieLottie1 hope you feel better soon!

OP posts:
Seer · 28/09/2019 18:14

@MrsGrindah also, I aim to only have two meals a day: weekdays I avoid breakfast and at weekends I avoid lunch, which helps keep the calories down.

OP posts:
MrsGrindah · 28/09/2019 18:21

I’m off out for Sunday lunch tomorrow as a treat so won’t eat breakfast or dinner. I hope!

TantricTwist · 28/09/2019 19:29

@MrsGrindah I've cut way back on my snacking now I'm calorie controlled. But I do veer towards crackers, ice lollies, apples and Drumstick Lollies.
@Seer enjoy your evening and seeing friends tomorrow.
@DottieLottie1 I hope your cold is subsiding and work didnt take it out of you too much.
The fitbit watch thing was only after the step class.I've just woken from quite a long nap.
B - Fast
L - apple, bit of baguette with butter, Activa Rhubarb, Gu Zillionaire pudding.
D - nothing yet.

TantricTwist · 28/09/2019 21:01

D - Moussaka with lots of salad and a bit of cous cous and I am stuffed.

Seer · 29/09/2019 08:40

Morning all! ☺️

We had a gorgeous time thanks @TantricTwist ! I drank a little too much but deffo would have had another glass if I wasn't thinking about calories!

Just weighed in and I've lost a stunning 4oz in 2 weeks. 😔 Which seems ridiculous when I've been averaging 1200 cals/day.

The scales were flickering a lot to the pound below (159lb) so I'm trying not to get too knocked by this plateau/sloooow loss and staying focused on seeing the weight continue to drop off.

Plans today... we're off to see friends and having a big pot luck so no idea what actually I'll eat!

B: fast or a wholemeal muffin
L: random potluck food!
D: fast

No idea on cals - maybe a big ol' 1800!

What are you all up to? ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 29/09/2019 09:32

Morning!

@Seer it's still a loss.... you know how it goes, but I do think the last few pounds might be the hardest to shift.

Slept ok, was immensely tired last night due to my cold but still woke early. Had a couple of cups of tea. Off to watch DS competing in his sport in county champs, I'll be getting wet then 🙄😬😂

Will fast through lunch and then I've got homemade lasagne with soi each for dinner.

Spa day tomorrow!

Have a good day all😊

MrsGrindah · 29/09/2019 09:50

I’ve put a sodding pound on again!

DottieLottie1 · 29/09/2019 10:08

@MrsGrindah Look at @Seer MFP graph, she does daily weigh ins and you can see it going up and down but the overall trend is a downward pattern. I think you will need to look at your 'best' weight over the course of the week and compare them to the next. I weigh weekly as I don't think I can handle seeing fluctuations but will go daily once on target.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 29/09/2019 11:02

Argh I was doing so well until this weekend when it all went to shit. Still, I will bravely step on my scales tomorrow, draw a line under this and start again Blush

Seer · 29/09/2019 11:32

Hope you can keep warm and dry @DottieLottie1 . Your spa day is well timed anyway!

Totally agree with everything Dottie said @MrsGrindah I weigh daily and totally expect a 1-3lb fluctuation. I ignore the fluctuations in terms of weight gain/lost and track my true weight loss by taking my lowest weight each week.

This week I've fluctuated less than usual but it's still bounced around from 160lb to almost 162lb and today back to 160lb again.

It happens to us all @MyGhastIsFlabbered Today is a new day ☺️

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 29/09/2019 15:44

So I had a some wine last night and crackers Hmm

B - toast and butter
L - cous cous
D - roast chicken etc for when DD gets back from her soggy weekend away

DottieLottie1 · 30/09/2019 06:29

Good Morning everyone.

I'm going to have a cuppa shortly before waking the DC. Once I've shooed them off to school I'll be leaving for my spa day. My cold has virtually passed now so was quite a mild one in the end, but well timed pamper day!

The day includes afternoon tea, I have no idea how many calories I'm going to consume. I want to enjoy myself but as I'm so close to where I want to be I'm not going to go crazy. I'm going to ditch breakfast and dinner. If I become peckish later, which I'm concerned about as I only ever fast breakfast and/or lunch then I'll have some fruit. I'm going to guess at a maximum of 1000 cals?

I also need to get our weekly food shop in but that may end up having to wait until tomorrow. The DC will in the meantime think they are in famine 🙄.

Hope you all have a good day whether your working or not and come wind, rain or shine.

DottieLottie1 · 30/09/2019 07:07

Oh, forgot to mention that whilst watching my DS play sport yesterday one of his teammates mums asked me if I'd lost ALOT of weight. She told me my face had completely changed and was angular😂. I hadn't realised I'd put weight on in my face but I think she's right! Few people have commented, possibly as they think it might come across rude but I'm closing in on 3 stone in 4 months. I guess it was more noticeable for this mum as it's the start of the new season and I haven't seen her since the end of the last.

Seer · 30/09/2019 07:47

Morning all!

@DottieLottie1 I bet you look totally different to her! That's a lot of weight in a short amount of time.

What did you reply when she said it?

The same friend who asked me if I'd lost weight a few weeks ago, said it again yesterday - I admitted to toning up a bit with kettlebells, it's too cringe to admit now to secretly dieting all summer!

Given the weight gain was over such a short period I don't feel too duplicitous, after all I'm only back to where I was last summer or thereabouts... it's not like I've suddenly changed to a completely different size to the one I've always been.

So that's only two people in total who have commented on my weight gain and then loss of 21lb! 😀

Usual day of work, dog walk etc here...

B: fast
L: baked potato with sweetcorn and salad
D: black bean and roast veg tacos

Have a lovely day all (especially you at the spa, Dottie!) ☺️

TantricTwist · 30/09/2019 16:34

Hope you're having a lovely day full of pampering delights @DottieLottie1 and enjoying the fact your weight loss is being noticed - 3 stone is amazing - so proud of you

@Seer you've been amazing at pushing us and getting us to stick to our plan - couldn't have done this without you - you have practically hit your target now haven't you.

I went and did just the one class today and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was sort of yoga ish
I won't be able to go during the day any more as I'm back at work next week. So just weekends and evenings. My work hours have changed so no more long 12 shifts or nights hurrah.

B - fast
L - baguette with bacon and Camembert
D - chicken, veg and potatoes

My clothes are far looser now so I'm really happy.

DottieLottie1 · 30/09/2019 19:06

Thanks @TantricTwist and glad to hear your more comfortable I your clothes. Your bacon and camembert baguette sounds 😋

@Seer I just said yes and that I'd cut back on alcohol 😳 People must think I had a jolly good time on it 😳😳😳

Pamper day was lovely and relaxing and the body massage was one of the best I've had. Lunch ended up being g a steak dinner so calories were actually quite low and Im really full. Might have some fruit in a bit but should only be a 1000 cal day.

Was feeling quite fresh but unfortunately my DR has just been admitted to hospital😔
