That's incredible @MrsGrindah! Well done! How much have you lost in how long?
@DottieLottie1 your relative's health is enough reason to feel down now and then, especially when it affects your sleep.
I do also wonder if losing weight can do that too. Fat stores all kinds of chemicals (toxins, hormones etc) which are released when we burn the fat, much of that could affect our body's chemistry which could certainly affect our mood.
Also, we know now that trauma is held in the body - maybe it's held in fat too - so we re-experience some of the emotions that were present at the time of the trauma.
If for example, we put on weight during a difficult period of life, we might experience some of that stress or unhappiness again as we lose it.
I've noticed I've been having waves of bigger mood dips than usual whilst losing the weight too so I've spent time pondering and researching the above (the body/trauma aspect relates to my work anyway, it's the fat part that I'd never thought about before).
It might be that drinking plenty of water, dry skin brushing, massage and foam rollering could help, regardless they're worth doing anyway as they're beneficial to most people!
Need to get dd off to school - back soon!
