Link to previous month here: Half a stone (or 3kg) for July http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3624800-half-a-stone-or-3kg-for-july

Hello everyone! Old timers, newbies, lurkers and anyone I've missed and welcome to the Half a stone challenge for August!

Everyone welcome regardless of what diet or exercise plan you are following.

All I ask is positivity and support for all of us (and someone to follow me around and steer me away from the Greggs vegan rolls please).

I'm currently on holiday until Saturday so will weigh in then and let you all know the damage as my starting weight for August.

Much love x

@Millie2017 my twirl is still in its packet! Just didn't fancy it at all. Gonna give it to DD tomorrow.

Star Cricket! I like that quote too- i like Jillian Michaels.

10.1 this morning - okay with that as I ate late last night and did not sleep well- I've half had a cold all week (fighting it with first defence but not sure I am winning!). Think today will be a struggle but I will do my best.

Hope you have a fun evening Millie!

LooseAtTheSeams · 30/08/2019 06:03

Very good quote Cricket!

cricketmum84 · 30/08/2019 07:07

Omg I've only gone and done it!!!!!!!

19st 13 this morning. First time I've been under 20 in about 3 years. Am abso-bloody-lutely giddy with excitement.

1 stone off for August so far!!!

Have a fabulous day my lovelies xx

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cricket that is awesome!!!

WoollyFoolly · 30/08/2019 08:16

Wowsers cricket that's awesome!!

I'm still tantalisingly on 13st. Hope I can get even just a tiny weeny bit off for tomorrow!

Ihatesundays · 30/08/2019 08:23

@cricketmum84 that number below is the best

Another 0.2kg off for me (seems to be my standard amount! So that’s 1.1kg this month (that’s 2.45Ib in real money!).
Could have been better. I realise now getting myself under 70kg is going to take me longer than I realised (I’m 75.1kg today)

Millie2017 · 30/08/2019 08:26

Morning all and well done @cricketmum84!
I’m out all day today and tonight so won’t have a chance to graze like yesterday. Plan for today:
B. Wheat biscuits and fruit
L. Tuna sandwich and salad
D. Not yet decided, something small
Not going to weigh in now until Sunday am. Have a good day everyone.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 30/08/2019 08:48

YES @cricketmum84 YES WOOOO HOOOO!!!

Tanaqui · 30/08/2019 14:54

Wow Cricket, well done! StarHaloStar

Paul, did you get your test results back yet? Fingers crossed for you.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 30/08/2019 20:28

Thank you for asking @Tanaqui

No news so allegedly good news! But I would like to see what my actual glucose read is....

HollyTheHarrier · 30/08/2019 21:06

Well done @cricketmum84!

I have been travelling for work today, still not home. Food has been a bit arbitrary. Banana, yoghurt with nuts and dried fruit (all brought from home). Then a packet of nuts in my meeting. Fruit salad from Pret and a skinny latte on this last leg. When I get home I will have the same as last night (egg fried rice, veg and chicken) which will use my remaining 500 calories. Then sleeep. Can’t wait.

Ihatesundays · 30/08/2019 21:07

I was super busy today. I’ve been very good apart from eating no fruit and a small slither of home made cake

Just started doing The Shred again - not done if for years, I do HITT quite a lot so thought it might be easy NOPE! I’m shattered

2018SoFarSoGreat · 30/08/2019 21:25

well done CRICKET - you are an inspiration.

I've been lurking. Lurking for at least 3 months. I think I shall be firmly 'in' for September so don't abandon us please.

16lbs down in 19 weeks, but 3 of these were on a big holiday - cruise AND Italy - so probably gained loads then! - and can see the possibility of actually being out of the obese zone after 5 more pounds. That's the goal for now. Then we'll see what is next.

HollyTheHarrier · 30/08/2019 22:11

2018 that’s amazing, well done!

I couldn’t eat all my dinner which is bizarre. It wasn’t as good reheated so will make it in single portions from now on. But just felt really full.

Weighed before dinner, back to where I was a week ago. Sort of hoping there’s still a bit of heat related bloating in there as I think overall I should have lost fat over the last week. But I might be kidding myself! Will do my official end of August weigh in tomorrow.

Night everyone, I’m turning in early!

cricketmum84 · 30/08/2019 22:26

Aw shucks you guys!!! Thank you so much for all the encouragement. This thread has just been so so good for keeping me on track!

Closing the kitchen now, had a bit of a manic day so didn't actually eat until 8pm tonight. I'm doing a bit of an accidental 23:1
Rather than 16:8 lol!! I had half a bake at home baguette with 2 heck Bollywood sausages, romaine lettuce and a little yoghurt and mint.

Ready for a Seville orange tanqueray and diet tonic then bed!

P.s I gave the twirl to DD in the end!

Well done Cricket! Hello 2018, hope 2019 is great for you too!

Paul, you can buy blood sugar testing kits and strips - proper ones, in fact I am not sure if actually t2 diabetics are supposed to buy their own? Might be worth it for peace of mind/ a kick up the bum?!

10.0.8 this morning - I need a good day! Did a killer class last night, ate a healthy dinner, and then had another dinner before bed! I do find exercise can complicate weight loss, but I have had a good week for working out, if not moved down on thr scales!

Ihatesundays · 31/08/2019 08:02

Last day of the month. I officially lost 1.1kg (2.45ib) but have shrunk a lot.

Auntie Flo has arrived today so quiet day sitting in misery and enjoying it! Back to the long slog to under 70kilos tomorrow....

Is there a new thread.

WoollyFoolly · 31/08/2019 08:18

I've done it!!! 12st 13 this morning! Total of 5lbs lost in August and I'm now under 13 stone - yippeeee! Grin very happy with that
I've lost 10.8% of my body weight so far. Next target is to get to 12st 7lb where I'll be out of the overweight BMI and into normal.

cricketmum84 · 31/08/2019 09:58

Morning all and happy Saturday!

Still 19st 13 this morning so final figures are 1 stone loss for August! Hope I can do the same again in September!

Planning on being extra especially good today, won't be eating a full meal until this evening and might have a couple of bits of fruit to put me on later. I'm planning on making a big holiday style salad tonight with feta, avocado and seeds.

Tomorrow is DS's birthday so we are out for food. He's picked a local pub that does huge massive steaks but lacks a bit in veggie options. Usual Mac n cheese or a baked potato Hmm

I'll get the September thread up and running now! Brb!!

Thanks Cricket! I forgot today was the 31st! So, roughly 4lb off in August (scale malfunction at start). Pleased with that and would love to do the same again in September!

cricketmum84 · 31/08/2019 17:40

@Tanaqui excellent result :)

@WoollyFoolly whoop!! How good does that next stone bracket feel!!!

Millie2017 · 31/08/2019 21:33

Well done losers! I didn’t weigh in this morning, the universe conspired against me. I will join September in the morning and report back. Just wanted to say well done to everyone who has done so well this month!

Gilly30 · 01/09/2019 13:23

Yes please to being in and being accountable. Got a lot to lose so hoping this is the first step in that direction.
