Link to previous month here: Half a stone (or 3kg) for July http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3624800-half-a-stone-or-3kg-for-july

Hello everyone! Old timers, newbies, lurkers and anyone I've missed and welcome to the Half a stone challenge for August!

Everyone welcome regardless of what diet or exercise plan you are following.

All I ask is positivity and support for all of us (and someone to follow me around and steer me away from the Greggs vegan rolls please).

I'm currently on holiday until Saturday so will weigh in then and let you all know the damage as my starting weight for August.

Much love x

So stood on the scales and they said 74.4kg - nearly jumped for joy.
But then I moved the scales and they said 75.5kg.
Gutted. It’s never happened before- the bathroom floor is really flat Sad

LooseAtTheSeams · 25/08/2019 09:42

Our scales react to being moved - go with the first reading as who knows what happened when you moved them.
Have just been for a run. Will weigh myself tomorrow. Not expecting another drop yet - I think that'll take another week of salad lunches!

Millie2017 · 25/08/2019 09:43

Morning all. Had a lovely meal out last night and a few G&Ts. It was a much needed catch up with a good friend, so I’m feeling good this morning.
Plan for today:
B. 2 slices of toast
L. Salad and fruit
D. Pizza and salad
Have a good day everyone

bluebeck · 25/08/2019 10:57

Resorted to senna last night and this morning, after the inevitable, I have dropped over a pound to 11:8:4 so YIPPEE!!!

Since February I have dropped from 12:13 to this so it's been hard going but so worth it. I just wish I had tried 16:8 ages ago.....

Going for a long beach walk now which should mean a long wait until lunch time. Will probably have Weetabix with blueberries for lunch, and then shepherds pie and veg for dinner.

Being mostly alcohol free has also had a big impact on the recent success which is bloody annoying as I love a drink but I keep telling myself I will love being thinner much better.

Also, I still have to meet up with "The Ex Wot Broke My Heart" Sept 6 so that's a huge incentive. Last time he saw me I was about 9:6

Tanaqui · 25/08/2019 18:32

Well done Blue- hope you had a lovely walk. I had a bit of a disaster - bread had gone yucky so sandwiches inedible and was in the middle of nowhere! Walk ended at a wafflehouse where I would have just had a cup of tea, but obviously was starving! Can't eat waffles (gf), so had massive ice cream confection, at least 500 kcal and probably more. However it was hot, I'd walked about 12km, and I really enjoyed it! Have had a proper dinner too as decided if I tried to compensate I'd end up binging later. Hope you all had a lovely sunny day.

Millie2017 · 25/08/2019 21:18

Closing the kitchen. Stuck to plan, with the exception of a packet of chocolate buttons this evening. That’s the problem with a hangover, sugar cravings.
Looking forward to starting a fresh week!

WoollyFoolly · 25/08/2019 21:46

Ahhhh Tanaqui you have just reminded me I had a twister this afternoon, had forgotten to add that into MFP. Fortunately they are pretty low in cal so I didn't go over.
Ridiculously hot today, hope it's cooler tomorrow. Am on day 17 of my 30 day exercise challenge, the last few days I've really not felt like it but have done them anyway so that's a bit of a victory in itself.

Ihatesundays · 25/08/2019 22:01

I’ve had a croissant, a cake and a cornetto! All the c’s...
Too hot to fight it today

Tanaqui · 26/08/2019 09:21

Everyone 's quiet this morning! 10.2.2 again today, but blaming the ice cream! Been for a run and just about to have a banana. Have a great day!

Ihatesundays · 26/08/2019 09:48

2 days of crap (and climbing massive hills) I am still at my lowest weight!
Going to be good today Grin

cricketmum84 · 26/08/2019 10:11

Back down to 20st 1 this morning. I really really really want to be in the 19s by Friday!!

Didn't eat too much at tapas on Saturday, veggie tapas isn't too bad for fat and calories. It helped that I couldn't indulge in the chorizo lol! Tempura courgette is my new favourite thing!

DH did a lovely BBQ yesterday. I had a sea bass and a corn cob, no bread.

Biiiig push now to hopefully get another 2lbs off by Friday. That would give me a 1 stone loss for August which would be amazing.

bluebeck · 26/08/2019 10:15

You can do it cricket

Just imagine how happy you will be when you read that scale that starts with a 19???!!!

Off to do local cultural stuff with DD 22 today. Lots of walking but she is a grazer so that will be tricky to navigate.

If I end up eating a lot during day I will have to have a yoghurt and go to bed early when I get back!!!

Millie2017 · 26/08/2019 10:23

Morning all. I had an amazing lie in this morning. Slept until 9.15am. That’s unheard of for me. Having a lazy day with the kids, so won’t do much exercise but will be careful food wise. Did a sneaky weigh this morning and wish I hadn’t!
B. Wheat biscuits and fruit
L. Chicken and vegetables
D. Rest of the pizza and salad
Must not snack tonight in front of the telly.
Have a good day all.

Millie2017 · 26/08/2019 10:24

@cricketmum84 a stone this month would be amazing!

SuzeD29 · 26/08/2019 10:35

Hi can I join please 🙂 I know its the end of August but would love to follow along in Sept.

Weighed in at 11st this morning so that's a loss of 5lb so far this month. Doubt I'll make the 7lb goal by end of August though but I'm quite pleased.

I'm doing a mix of herbalife and intermittent fasting

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 26/08/2019 10:38

Day 1 of 16:8....

Am only just eating breakfast, not bad going after being up for 5 hours!

Millie2017 · 26/08/2019 20:56

Closing the kitchen. I failed in my mission not to snack in front of the tv. Sigh. Other then that I was good! It’s a new day tomorrow.

Ihatesundays · 26/08/2019 21:14

Only ate about 1100 calories today and I had a biscuit!
No exercise though as am resting a bad knee

Tanaqui · 27/08/2019 05:41

1100 including a biscuit sounds cunning- unless it was a rich tea finger?! (Actually a good choice! I miss normal biscuits).

10.1.7 today, and I am coming down with a cold (start of term germs!). Not sure whether breakfast would be sensible or make me feel worse!

Millie2017 · 27/08/2019 06:56

Sneaky weigh in this morning shoes I’m still going in the wrong direction. I’m just so hungry right now.
Plan for today:
B. Wheat biscuits
L. Tuna salad sandwich
D. Soup
Snacks: fruit
No exercise today. I’m sure that’s not helping but can’t do anything about it until DH is on the mend.
Have a good day everyone.

cricketmum84 · 27/08/2019 07:13

Morning lovelies

@Millie2017 hoping your DH continues to improve!

Busy busy today. Still pissed off over missing a whole bank holiday of sunbathing Cos I had to work :( never mind it'll soon be 5pm!

Plan for today is
B - water and fruit
L - small roll with 20g cheese and some salad
D - LM burger with salad (no bread)

Have a lovely day everyone!!

HollyTheHarrier · 27/08/2019 08:18

Had a completely off plan weekend - didn’t even attempt to calorie count and I am not good at making the right choices when I don’t have a calorie limit to keep me in check! Oh well. Back on track now and will hold steady to the end of August now! Today has started well with a 5 mile run and a plain yoghurt for breakfast. Not sure what I will do for lunch and tea yet.

Ihatesundays · 27/08/2019 08:52

Actually lost some weight! And not done any exercise for ages, hardly moved in fact.
Lost 0.2kg to take me to 75.3kg. Desperate to see 74 now, totally thought I would be nearer to 70 by now!

Millie2017 · 27/08/2019 21:53

Thanks @cricketmum84.
I’ll be honest my plan went out the window. Ate hardly anything until about 8pm and then ate junk. Grrrr. It has been a stressful day, but that’s no excuse.
Fingers crossed tomorrow will go better.

Tanaqui · 28/08/2019 04:55

It's so hard when it is slow-moving, but slow and steady often does mean it will stay off better as you have had longer to form new habits.

Millie, forgive me for butting in, but have you tried mixing up your diet a bit? I can't eat gluten at all any more, but in thr past if I had wheat for breakfast and lunch it would have given me weight loss problems, but that could be connected to my health, not generic! But how about trying porridge or eggs for breakfast?

10.0.3 again today- I so hope 9 will appear soon!
