Anyone up for a big fat fresh start?

I'm fed up with being fat.

Anyone fancy joining me, starting from tomorrow with a weigh in?

It would be lovely to have some company.

I'm going to use today to stock up on healthy food and purchase some bathroom scales.

Yeh keep going - one blow out doesn’t counter the little by little good efforts :-)

And bacon is soooooooo good pp!!

theneverendinglaundry · 18/07/2019 12:24

I have been starving all morning, had breakfast at 6am, a banana at 10 and lunch at 12.

What are you all eating for breakfast? I worked out that I had about 450 calories just on toast with butter and honey. Theee must be something i can eat that is more sustaining and with the same or less calories? I automatically go for toast every day because I dont have time to make much.

Seren10 · 18/07/2019 12:33

Apart from the ridiculous bacon roll saga that's been occuring this week, I've been having two poached eggs with asparagus for breakfast. So tasty and only takes a couple of minutes.

Seren10 · 18/07/2019 12:34

Can also add smoked salmon/parma ham to jazz it up a bit :)

ElizabethG81 · 18/07/2019 12:42

I'm preferring to skip breakfast and have a larger lunch and dinner, but if I was having breakfast I'd go for eggs or porridge, both are better for you than toast or cereal and will keep you going for longer.

theneverendinglaundry · 18/07/2019 13:46

Thanks, yes I was thinking porridge or eggs.

Bloody love bacon. I had it the other day for the first time in ages!

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 18/07/2019 14:47

For breakfast I’m choosing to have one of those peanut chocolate protein bars and trying to stick to that and a coffee - probably not the best but it helps me to limit the food quantity I am eating as I don’t trust that if I have eggs and avo toast (my fave) that I won’t still be starving by lunch and have a proper / big lunch too!! Just did a sneaky weigh in and am 2 pounds less than starting weight last week (I know it’s not weigh in day but when I weighed on Monday I was super bloated after massive weekend and knew that I wasn’t really gaining!)

tenthreginald · 18/07/2019 16:36

Finishing at 680 cals today as it's a down day. Tomorrow will be around 1400 hopefully.

theneverendinglaundry · 18/07/2019 19:17

Fallen off the wagon already. Had a beer and will be sharing a bottle of prosecco with DH once kids are in bed.

I tracked my calories today and am reassured that even with the booze, I've clocked 2097 calories today. 500 burned off with exercise so 1500, not bad really!

Pinkiii · 18/07/2019 19:20

My plan has gone to shit today. Got my period and just wanted crap food so I had a Mcd.

Will do a fasting day tomorrow to make up for it

EvilHerbivore · 18/07/2019 19:33

Ending on 1428 - need to go to bed soon though to make sure it actually stays on that!

EvilHerbivore · 18/07/2019 19:34

@Pinkiii I go to shit with my period too, need alllll the carbs and sugar

CCquavers · 18/07/2019 22:33

Hi everyone, just checking in really. 3 days of things going well and no more outings to eat and drink!

Desperately trying to gain momentum with my walking and today I hit 20,000 steps so I’m hoping that means I can hit my target this week.

Have a good weekend x

sevenandeight · 19/07/2019 08:32

Well yesterday was a total disaster. Ended up eating out last night with friends. Way to much Indian food and wine was consumed. Also I ate out at lunch time and much pasta was scoffed not to mention cheesecake and cream for afters.

Feel rough today. Also stupidly I got on the scales this morning and can confirm that yesterdays antics made me 3lbs heavier than I was on Monday weigh in.

When will I ever learn. I'm such a twat Grin

There will be no weight loss from me this week.

Hmmm my day yesterday wasn't too bad.

Made up for yesterdays mornings bacon roll with a lowcal mushroom risotto ready meal (and a mini twister lolly!!) for lunch and had a small portion of salmon with lots of veg for dinner. I did absolutely zero exercise and only managed 6,000 steps. But I am not beating myself up!!

I've had nothing so far today but I have some tuna and green veg in the office fridge to have shortly... and then I have another of the lo-cal mushroom risotto's to have later on. I am going to go for a lovely long walk with my best friend later :)

Happy Friday everyone!! Even though you've had a bad day or two it doesn't matter and one bad meal won't make much difference. Back on the wagon for the weekend please ladies!!!

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 19/07/2019 10:57

Yep one bad day or two isn’t the end of the world! It’s the little positive changes over be longer term that makes the difference !! I’ve got a hen weekend this weekend (pizza restaurant tonight, lunch out tomorrow then catered 3 course dinner tomorrow night - I’m done for!!) . Also my DS was really ill this week and in hospital and when home have just been stressing and not sleeping. We were also advised to give him anything we can to get fluids and calories (jelly, cream, ice cream, lollies!) not helpful for me!!

Pinkiii · 19/07/2019 13:23

I agree one day/one bad meal won’t be too bad, i don’t want to get in a habit of feeling bad for eating something i want sometimes otherwise I know I won’t stick to a good diet long term.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, i always find weekends the hardest die to family stuff or going out. We have another bbq on sunday Confused

Seren10 · 19/07/2019 14:31

Don't beat yourselves up about indulging every now and then - like you say, it's much easier to keep it up if you allow yourself the little treats.

I'm trying to keep in mind that as long as I am a little more aware, and better behaved than when I just eat whatever and whenever, then the weight will come off over time.

Even little changes such as walking to the pub for a big roast rather than driving will make a difference over time.

Enjoy your weekends ladies!!

theneverendinglaundry · 19/07/2019 15:27

Absolutely right @seren10 !

I hope that over time this all becomes normal and I'm not constantly thinking about food and what I should and shouldn't eat...

sevenandeight · 19/07/2019 16:33

@theneverendinglaundry

This is how I feel, constantly thinking about food and what I should or shouldn't be eating.

I've been good so far today and have only eaten a small jacket spud with cheese and onion. I've got to get through this even yet though so it could quite easily go pear shaped.

theneverendinglaundry · 19/07/2019 19:30

@sevenandeight its torture if I'm honest, I guess it will get easier over time, just got to break the bad habits!

My youngest has really tested my patience today so this evening is going to be hard. I'm finding it hard to imagine that I'll be happy with a cup of tea Confused

EvilHerbivore · 19/07/2019 20:30

Just about scraping in today on 1495! Had a 'I want to eat everything' evening so pleased that I've stopped just within calories

ainslieb · 20/07/2019 06:24

Weighed in this morning.

9st 10 I'm pleased about that! BMI 23.4 fwiw

theneverendinglaundry · 20/07/2019 07:00

A healthier more filling breakfast for me today. Porridge with a handful of chopped nuts and blueberries.

CCquavers · 20/07/2019 10:15

You do think about food all the time. From reading posts here I think I’m the heaviest by a few stone and all I can suggest is to plan every meal down to the last emergency snack or wine even. Then I find I can block food out because I know what I’m eating next and even know what I’m eating if I’m going to go off the rails. 😂 helps to be in control for me.
