Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

@crazzzycat

I think Fitbit seriously overestimates calories burnt. I knock about 20% off what it tells me.

WhatALearningCurve · 03/07/2019 02:15

For those saying about Fitbit calories - it takes into account calories you burn from just "existing" like breathing

The articles below explains it but basically if you look at a day you didn't wear your Fitbit - or go for a day where you turn your Bluetooth off - you'll be able to see what Fitbit burns as standard (assuming your weight and height are correct). If you then take this figure off whatever it shows on a synced day then you'll get your actual active calories burned.

Good morning all!
Yesterday was a good day, as after a long labour, my DS finally had her little girl. I'm an Aunty, for the first time! Grin
Ended up also eating the spare potato waffle from my DD's dinner, but managed a steady day all in. Was also home on th sofa alone, and also managed to not reach for the chocolate or crisps.
Cricket, hope today brings improving news for your kitty. Do the vets have any ideas about what may have caused her poisoning?

Weigh-in for me today.....89.9 kg! Whooop!
1.1kg since the start of the month, which means 12.1 kg total since April. This is on target to be just 'overweight' by our holiday at the end of August.
Which leaves a dilemma. I'll need a new swimming costume. My two current ones are a size 24 and a 22. They are too big now (am fitting into 20s or 18s in some brands). So, when do I buy a new costume? If I get one now, when there is lots of choice, could it be too big come the end of August. But, if I leave it, there might not be much of a choice! And if everything goes well with the pregnancy, who knows what size I'll need!! Confused

Anyhow, have a good day all.

WantLifeToBeBetter · 03/07/2019 06:25

Congratulations Vebrithien Smile

I had a good day food wise yesterday and yet somehow managed to put on .3kg overnight 😂. Serves me right for weighing every day really - I'm sure it has more to do with what's in my bowels than anything else.

Plan for today is 3 meals, minimal snacks of fruit & veg, lots of water and again no alcohol. Hoping to go for a run after work. Here goes..

cricketmum84 · 03/07/2019 07:04

Aww congratulations @Vebrithien that's lovely news! Xx

Good morning, a big wave to all new joiners and hello again to the regulars!

It's ❤️ Day 3! ❤️

Back to the office today after a couple of days working from home. At least it regulates my eating patterns a little!

Plan for today is:
B - coffee and a banana
S - probably a satsuma and a fibre one salted caramel square
L - sandwich in seeded bread with Philadelphia and salad leaves
D - mushroom pasta and salad

Awaiting an update on how Ivy cat has been overnight but no bloods due today so won't have much news really.

Have a lovely and successful day everyone!!

verbrithien buy a 20 and an 18 and take one back within 28 days when you can see how you are doing. You might be best with a size 18 maternity cozzie. Congrats on grandchild Star

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 03/07/2019 07:18

good luck to @cricketmum84 for IvyCat

plus I’ve no idea how you’ve held it together for so long with all this going on at home.

Today I am starting again. Had a stupid couple of days with dental hell including an incomplete extraction as I bottled it in the dentists chair so am back to “Project 1400” not exceeding that amount of calories in a day.

cricketmum84 · 03/07/2019 07:22

Thanks @PaulHollywoodsSexGut. Love the username 😂

I have mainly held it together due to gin if I'm honest!!

Congratulations @Vebrithien! Lovely news.
Plan for today
B. Wheat biscuits and fruit
L. Egg salad sandwich on brown
D. Chicken and rice
Snacks: banana and a decent coffee at lunch
Exercise: evening swim 1hr
Mega busy day. Baby has his injection at 9am, meeting a friend at 10.30 and will be having lunch out. Must avoid the cakes in the cafe!
Have a good day everyone.

lightlypoached · 03/07/2019 07:39

1st July : 60.7 body fat 29
Today :61.2 29% body fat

Not exactly good progress but I did have wine last night as I was fed up and yoga class was cancelled. .

Offsite thing at work today so that might be tricky re food.

Dancing tonight though so will burn some extra calories doing the Samba!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 03/07/2019 07:42

Hey @lightlypoached can you let me know how you took your body fat measurement?

Blankscreen · 03/07/2019 07:43

Can anyone please recommend some decent scales. Ours are crap and I get three different readings so it's very demotivating.

Trying to lose a stone before holiday on 2nd August. Had 7 weeks and now down to about 4 and I've only lost 4llbs.

1/2 a stone Iin July would be amazing.

whatsnormalanyway · 03/07/2019 07:52

Good morning all.

A little victory today - I am now half way to my First Big Goal of losing 3 stone! (I want to lose another 10-14lbs after that but I can't think about that for now).

Busy day today, so plan to have my easy cheat meal - fish fingers and veg - for dinner. Crudités for lunch. Almost certainly some low cal ice cream or some chocolate as an evening snack.

Howlongtillbedtime · 03/07/2019 07:53

Morning all

Fingers are paws crossed for continuing good news from Ivycat cricket

Today should be a good day. I am going on a 8-10 mile hike with some young teens ! What could possibly go wrong ?
Good for the step count and I can only eat what I take with me.

Will have to have a sandwich for lunch
Fruit and mini cheddars for snack
No idea about dinner yet.
Will see how I feel when I get back.

Wish me luck Grin

Have a good day everyone!

Fluffiest · 03/07/2019 08:08

Congratulations Vebrithien! That's amazing progress but I'm afraid I have no idea what to do about your costume dilemma!

I've had a good couple of days and the scales agree. I'm down to 9st9. Biggest difference for me is cutting out the evening snacks. Sometimes that is really hard, last night I was tempted but instead started messaging my sister and was soon so distracted it was 11pm!

Plan for today is a morning outside with DD, and then lots of housework when she is at nursery this afternoon. Basically not sitting around for hours browsing mumsnet!

lemonbalmtea · 03/07/2019 08:32

Vebrithien I would buy a costume now as I've been in that situation. They do sell out (nice ones) and the only place that has them in airports. They are generally quite forgiving size wise due to the lycra so a size up or down shouldn't make too much difference. I'd probably go down a size.

lightlypoached · 03/07/2019 08:33

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut hi. I have some scales that you put your age, height, sex into and they measure body fat , bone weight, water %

I don't think I they are very accurate but I'm using them as a relative measure as that might be useful. I've already gone down from 33 at the start of June.

I really hope that I'm not a third fat 🥴 but I might be. It's the visceral (hidden round organs) fat that I'm keen to shift which is why I'm doing the fast800 - has lots of other health benefits.

Hope this helps.

I’m not speaking to my cat. He kept waking me up all night.

Went to an exercise class last night (first in years) I ache all over.
Sadly my weight is still not moving. I’m hoping it’s the hot weather making me retain water or something Grin

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 03/07/2019 10:07

Morning! ☀️☀️

Love the name PeriComoToes Grin

Congratulations Aunty Vebrithien! Lovely newsSmile

Congratulations on getting halfway to goal whatsnormalanyway.

cricket your cat is gorgeous!

I've been for a run this morning. Very pleased, as I ran twenty minutes straight for the first time since my chemo last year.

Just having lunch again today. Not sure what, but something filling and delicious.

Have a great day everyone!

WantLifeToBeBetter · 03/07/2019 10:09

Ooh are we doing cat pictures?

I hope ivy cat continues to improve.

@Blankscreen - tanita are a good brand imo. They do different versions at various prices but all decent quality.

Morning all - good to see people off to a great start this month!

I’m struggling so much at the moment, I feel constantly tearful when at work and I’ve got a catch up with a senior manager (no idea what it’s about) and I’m so worried i am going to break down the moment someone asks me if I am okay. I’m really not and I don’t know why. Very hard to stay focused on health when your brain is all over the shop but I have to try. Also annoyed with myself for not getting up for my run this morning, I really think it would have helped.

I had a meeting that ran long this morning so I am skipping breakfast as it won’t be long until lunch time.

L: Tomato and bean soup
D: No carb prawn stir fry
Snacks: A bit of chocolate most likely

Not sure what that will amount to but will boost up to 1200 if I need to!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 03/07/2019 11:02

Lookingforpizza good luck with your meetingThanks
