Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

Joining this thread even though the month is coming to an end. Only started to try lose weight halfway through the month. I'm about 1kg down in 12 days, definitely suffering from second week syndrome (lost about 0.8kg in week one, only 0.2kg in the last 5 days).

Not using any diet, just calorie counting and trying to stick to 1200-1300cal on days that I don't exercise and 1400-1500cal on days that I do exercise.

However, I tend to exercise just before dinner, at a time of day when I'm already hungry. On some days I've eaten a slice of toast with peanut butter before going to the gym, but that almost cancels out any calories burned at the gym. Any other suggestions for slightly lower calorie pre-work out snacks? On other days I eat a banana before going to the gym and find that that is enough to sustain me, but would like to mix it up a bit rather than just eating a banana each time.

Millie2018 · 27/07/2019 21:43

Closing the kitchen.
I took inspiration from @DaisyChainsGetBroken (loved the picture of the beach) and instead of catching up on the thread from the sofa, headed out to do my walk in the rain. Managed 4.5miles.
Stuck to my food plan, except had a jam tart with the kids for pudding. Not bad going for a Saturday. Already planned a longer walk for tomorrow afternoon.
Hope everyone has had a good day and welcome to the new joiners.

Welcome @Alaimo! It's never too late to get started!

I had a lovely grilled trout for dinner last night with salad and a verrrry small portion of rice. Still really struggling with not being able to get weighed to see if I'm gaining? DH says I'm obsessing but I so desperately don't want to put too much on. I gain weight so easily but lose it so slowly. I've even been going into the pharmacies to hunt for scales lol!

Plan for today is a bit of a lazy day round the pool, got a few books on my kindle and will be in and out of the water having a good swim in between chapters. May have a salad for lunch if I'm hungry, couple of gin and slimline tonics and then out to a bbq place tonight that do a bbq veg platter that surely can't have many points in.

The snickers ice cream is still in the freezer!

Don't quite believe it but scales say that I've lost 3lbs since yesterday. That's got rid of the 2lbs that rudely reappeared yesterday and loses 1 more on top of that!

I'm really pleased with that! 3 days till the end of July. Now I really want to stay focused for these last few days and finish July well.

Sunday is my danger day, we have lunch out with my parents and then skip dinner only to be starving for chips at 8pm! Going to try and stick to a healthy snack in the evening instead.

cricketmum84 · 28/07/2019 09:10

@Fluffiest that's amazing well done!

Had a little bit of an NSV this morning! For a new sundress out of the wardrobe, I had grabbed it in a large when I was doing last minute holiday shopping. Realised this morning that a large is only a 16-18.

Well it only bloody fit!!! Pics to prove it...

So still no weight loss - I am visibly smaller though from the exercise I am doing.
I was a 14 on top and 16 bottom. And I am now a 12/14 on top and a 14 bottom. I’d like to be a small 12 on top and a 12 on bottom though.
I hope I hop on the scales one day and I just get a sudden drop.
Just been for a power walk 500 calories and 89% cardio. I am a sweaty mess, DH pointed out the big sweat patches on my T-shirt Blush

Millie2018 · 28/07/2019 12:00

Wow @cricketmum84 good for you! You’ve come so far!
My day is completely messed up. Was supposed to be doing a long walk while DH went to in laws for lunch with the kids, but he’s not well and I’m going instead. My MIL cooks everything in salt water and always serves a massive pudding and gets extremely offended if you decline. So not only will I miss my walk but I’ll be subjected to a massive lunch I don’t want.
Anyway, DH is off to an emergency appointment arranged by 111 so in the scheme of things the lunch is the least of my problems right now.
Had wheat biscuits for lunch and have stir fry planned for dinner. Hopefully I’ll be able to head out for a walk once the kids are in bed.
Hope everyone else’s Sunday is going to plan!

Millie2018 · 28/07/2019 12:01

That should say wheat biscuits for breakfast...

lightlypoached · 28/07/2019 13:02

Morning.

An indulgent day yesterday that included chips and wine, but manic (dd is filming a movie at our house, so chaotic !)

60.8 this morning. A lady at yoga commented that she could see the difference since I've been doing 16:8. 😬 yoga was tough as my joints are still shitty but did what I could. So frustrating!

Less than a week til holiday and I'm still a kilo over my target. Can I do it?

How's everyone else.

Ps am salivating at @cricket 's salad.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 28/07/2019 14:52

I just had a Burger King.

Laters July Wink

lemonbalmtea · 28/07/2019 19:42

I feel terrible as my eating has been very unplanned. I doubt very much I've been getting the right nutrients and my ADHD symptoms have gone through the roof - been on a (productive) rabbit hole this weekend.

Today
Breakfast - porridge
Lunch - chicken skewer, chorizo and chips
Dinner - carrot soup

Plateaued at 10st 7. Not bad as that's 7lbs off for July, and means that the 10st mark is in sight for August - hooray!

Once I get out of the rabbit hole I'll sort out my meal plan. In the meantime not putting on weight is a win.

Millie2018 · 28/07/2019 22:02

Closing the kitchen. I had a salmon and vegetable lunch in the end, so not so bad. Ice cream after. But only one scoop. No exercise today.
Going to be really good Monday to Wednesday. Fingers crossed I’ll get away with some of the treats I had last week while on hols.
Night all.

LooseAtTheSeams · 28/07/2019 23:33

Fantastic news on the dress Cricket!
Don't think I'm going to achieve more than holding steady by end of the month. Today has been good with no snacks or wine to worry about, though. And I managed a run/walk for first time in ages.

lightlypoached · 29/07/2019 06:44

Found this spoof article in the Daily Mash (one of my favourite sites😬).

Thought of us all 😂😂😂😂😂

Have a Good week everyone x

cricketmum84 · 29/07/2019 07:17

Someone remind me never ever to order salmon pasta in a creamy lobster sauce ever ever again. After more than a week of only eating salads, scrambled egg and grilled fish my body completely rejected it. I only ate a third before I gave the rest to DS (after he had been out for a burger with his mates at 5.30 and then eaten a 16oz steak at 8pm) and I've still been up 4 times in the night.

Just sliced up some gorgeous fresh watermelon for breakfast. DH and DD are going into the town for a spot of shopping and brunch. I'm going to finish my latest book by the pool interspersed with a spot of swimming.

Sticking to the grilled fish and salad diet today!!

Hope everyone is raring to go ready for Monday morning! Only a few more days of July left and I'll get the August thread going probably tomorrow.

Much love xx

Morning all! I have not been good this weekend. In fact I've been downright naughty so I have got a slight gain. I'm not all that concerned though. Does the soul good to have a blow out every now and then! Today is a new week!

Weight at end of June: 123.2kg

1/07/2019: 122.5kg

8/07/2019: 120.6kg

15/07/2019: 121.2kg

22/07/2019: 120.0kg

25/07/2019: 119.6kg

29/07/2019: 120.0kg

Loss so far in July: 3.2kg

Weight at beginning of 2019: 142.9kg
Total loss so far: 22.9kg (3.606stones/50.486lbs)

3.2kg is cracking. More than happy with that. Just over half a stone and brings me to 50lbs lost since the beginning of the year. I'll have one more weigh in on Wednesday before we start August.

Hope you're all doing well, we have returned to none molten temperatures here for the time being which is a blessed relief! Means I can actually get the poor dog out without running the risk of her over heating! Right! Time and toddler waits for no man! Good luck to all!

lightlypoached · 29/07/2019 08:07

@DeadButDelicious 23kilos!!!!!!! 😁👌👍🏽👏

Fluffiest · 29/07/2019 08:23

Congratulations Deadbutdelicious, that's fantastic!

That daily mash article is uncomfortably true lightkypoached Smile

I'd done alright yesterday but I did eat a oreo cupcake at 8pm. My friend's daughter runs a cake business and has just gone on holiday and gave her mum a box of leftover cupcakes that needed eating up. I've grown more rebust at declining treats but I couldn't say no to a free cupcake!

Hope everyone has a good Monday - I always feel more motivated on a Monday.

cricketmum84 · 29/07/2019 08:32

Oh and I finally ate the snickers ice cream that's been languishing in the mini freezer. And by eck it were worth it 😂😂

Millie2018 · 29/07/2019 08:50

Usually on a Monday I’m raring to go, but today I just feel flat. Down. Sad. I’m not really sure why. It was a tough weekend for one reason or another. It’s not even 9am and I’ve already done 2 loads of washing, fed the kids breakfast and getting them ready to go school uniform shopping.
Maybe it’s just post holiday blues. Plan for today:
B. Wheat biscuits
L. Ham sandwich
D. Jacket potato and beans
Snacks: fruit
Exercise: haven’t decided yet but will do something when DH gets in from work

Ihatesundays · 29/07/2019 09:28

I was lying in bed this morning thinking how thin I felt...and....no change.

Hairdressers tomorrow.
Hoping my hair weighs a lot Grin

LooseAtTheSeams · 29/07/2019 11:44

Grr...no change at all. But no gain!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 29/07/2019 12:36

Stood on the scales this morning expecting to see a number starting with an “8”.

78.7kg. I’ll take that. Especially as I’m a bloated heap thanks to my first postpartum period Sad

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 29/07/2019 12:39

@cricketmum84 if you were “going at both ends” this could be a positive as it means your body is now saying “no” to the rich food and campaigning to stay on the healthy trajectory. Impressed (but Flowers for you if it was the galloping trots).

@DeadButDelicious 23kg is amaaaaaazingggg
