Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

Another day of no change.
Can’t decide if I am eating too little or too much

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 25/07/2019 09:20

77.8 this morning!

I fully expect to have piled it all back on by 5pm.

3dogs2cats · 25/07/2019 11:28

@DeadButDelicious so amazing. Well done you .
I am dyspraxic ,and part of that is dyscalculia, get very confused by numbers, So yesterday I weighed myself and was 99.1 kilos, which seemed a giant step from 101.6 and today I am 101.9. So I think maybe yesterday I just read it backwards?
Anyway , went to the gym this morning and really couldn’t remember much of what that nice personal trainer showed me on Monday, but I did my best, then rewarded with a lovely 40 minute swim. Can’t take the dogs out, but I will do a bit of gardening and go out with the dogs this pm. Bread and jam for breakfast. Jam is my downfall. . Think I will try some thin people salad for lunch and dinner!

Lookingforpizza · 25/07/2019 12:49

Hi all!

I’m back after a hiatus, i needed to take time out for my mental health and was off work for a bit too. Amazingly I have only
gained half a kilo despite two weeks of eating a lot of junk and moving very little!

Doesn’t look like I’ll have really made any losses for July but want to get back on track ready for August!

Today’s food:
B: Alpen and 0% greek style yoghurt
L: Tuna with light salad cream and salad
D: Grilled Chicken, small baked potato, red pepper hummus and salad
Snacks: Latte, pot of fruit, chocolate

Should bring me to about 1200 which is ideal as it’s so bloody hot I am doing the bare minimum exercise!!!

Fluffiest · 25/07/2019 18:30

Couldn't face cooking tonight. Ordered a Chinese... Ate loads.

Not great but that's the first takeaway in over 2 weeks and it used to be a once (or twice) a week habit... so that's still progress I guess.

Back on it tomorrow. I don't want to undo all of my good work this month.

Ihatesundays · 25/07/2019 19:05

Someone asked if I had lost weight!

Lookingforpizza · 25/07/2019 20:01

That’s awesome @Ihatesundays it’s so nice when your work pays off and someone notices!

Don’t worry @Fluffiest as you say, you’ve cut back on takeaways so try not to beat yourself up over one, especially if you enjoyed it!

I ended up eating a whole tub of ice cream this evening Blush

lemonbalmtea · 26/07/2019 01:08

Limping along to end of July. Made a few healthy decisions when faced with the choice. Swamped this week so grabbing things but I shall get back onto meal planning by next week. I have a further 18 lbs to lose. Best case scenario six weeks.

cricketmum84 · 26/07/2019 06:12

Morning all! It's Day 26 and we are getting perilously close to the end of the month!

@DeadButDelicious that's a fantastic result so far for July!!

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch that 2lbs could well be water retention in this heat. Go you for not binging though. Biscuits and ice cream on one day isn't the end of the world, just get back on it tomorrow!

@ainslieb great loss so far!!

@Ihatesundays what does your average day look like? How many calories are you consuming? Aw how amazing does it feel when someone notices!!

@Lookingforpizza lovely to see you back. I do hope the break has helped. We missed you! X

@Fluffiest That's progress!

I did good with food yesterday, shopska salad for brunch which was gorgeous and then grilled mackerel for dinner. No ice cream, crisps or biscuits. Same sort of plan for today. Just day on the balcony about to finish off my book with a coffee while the kids sleep after a late night last night. Off to Nesebar later this morning for a walk round.

Have a lovely day everyone!

Finally broke off the plateau and got another 0.3kgs off my previous low. I seem to be all over the place so i’ll probably be a kilo heavier next time 🤣 but for now I will take it! That makes 2.9kg lost so far, still aiming for 3kg in July!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 26/07/2019 08:17

Thanks cricket. I needed to hear that this morning, as the scales are still punishing me. I hope you're enjoying your holiday!

The heat was unbelievable here yesterday, then the whole village was woken up by the loudest thunder I think I've ever heard!

I'm one of those people who has weird, physiological responses when a storm is approaching. I get tension headaches and feel very twitchy.

Hopefully the downpour we've just had will dispel that, & I'll be back to normal. Phew!

Plan today:

B: latte
L: at friends, so who knows
D: chilli con carne.

Have a great day everyone!

PeriComoToes · 26/07/2019 08:26

Not doing great. It's the heat! Out for the day/evening yesterday and had 2000 calories. Bugger.

Sweating cobs off. Feel like having a cold beer already 😯 good job I've got to drive in a minute.

Hate this heat with no pool to dip into.

Fluffiest · 26/07/2019 09:16

Well the scales have been kind to me and have shown no gain since yesterday's Chinese. I'm back on it today. I'm going to try and lose a bonus pound between now and Wednesday. Give me a boost for continuing in August.

Wellthatwastricky · 26/07/2019 13:57

Hmm been on track all week and have finally started to lose again (2.5lbs whoop) but... but... I've got a serious "fuck it" feeling today. Feeling unusually hungry (possibly as period imminent?) and really fancy a takeaway tonight. Yesterday was awful - 38 degrees all day, cooped up at home with the DCs because they really don't cope well the prickly heat rash etc, up twice in the night with them and finally awake since 4.30am when DS kindly woke me to tell me "my teeth aren't strong" argh! Couldn't get back to sleep and I am sooo tired.

Generally when I've felt this way since dieting I've allowed myself to have a day off as it's not often and I'm in it for the long haul, but I feel like maybe I'm making "excuses" as to why I deserve a takeaway, which is one of the bad habits I've been working to overcome. Also have a busy weekend with a family meal and a friend's BBQ so will be a struggle not to overeat as it is.

Ihatesundays · 26/07/2019 13:57

@cricketmum84 I go between 12-14000 calories a day. But I burn average of about 22-2500 a day.
I don’t want to eat more as that’s just my non diet?!

Fluffiest · 26/07/2019 16:08

Wellthatwastricky that is exactly what I was thinking yesterday. I ended up giving in. Hope you make the right call for you.

I've finished work early and have pushed myself to do a quick run. I'm now very sweaty and pink. Gonna lie on my bed with a magazine for a bit until I cool down.

Wellthatwastricky · 26/07/2019 22:17

No takeaway! More due to circumstances conspiring against me than making a good choice, but the same result. Have possibly gone over with chocolate but only a small amount.

Fluffiest · 27/07/2019 07:40

Oh no! The Chinese (or possibly last night's wine) has caught up with me. 2lbs up this morning.

OK, really need to make an effort now to lose them again for end of July. Did this last month too, got complacent in the last few days and put on 2lb.

LooseAtTheSeams · 27/07/2019 07:58

Away from home with no scales so can't weigh myself. Hope I'm not in for a nasty shock tomorrow!

BrillyPribble · 27/07/2019 09:12

Back home today, have had a lovely break with a fair few indulgences but not nearly as much as I would have done normally. However, post holiday weigh in at 13st 7.5 so 2.5 lbs up. I'm hopeful these will disappear again quite quickly now I'm home and back on tracking calories. Hope everyone else is doing ok and hasn't melted too much in the heat of the past week!

Millie2018 · 27/07/2019 09:24

Good morning everyone. I’m back in the game!
Haven’t caught up on the thread yet but will do later. Had a good week away with the kids but I’m exhausted! Did loads of walking and swimming and had healthy breakfasts and lunches but dinner was out every evening.
Did a sneaky weigh in this morning and I’m 0.3kg up. It’s not much but to give some context the week before I lost 0.2kg so I’ve undone that and more.
New target: if I can lose 0.2kg by 31st that will leave me with a 2kg loss for this month. I’ll take that!
Plan for today:
B. Wheat biscuits
L. A slice of pizza and salad
D. Mushroom stir fry
Snack: fruit
Exercise: going to do 100 squats and will do a walk of it stops raining
Happy Saturday everyone! I’ll catch up on the thread once the kids leave the house!!!

HollyTheHarrier · 27/07/2019 10:48

Happy weekend everyone! Miserable weather here, but - have done an 8.5 mile run and when I got on the scales after coming back I was down 0.8kg! Which makes a total 3.7kg loss this month. I’m not 100% sure I believe my scales but it’s a good sign and I will take it. Off to a barbecue this evening but will try to make good choices, and this morning’s run should offset most of it. Hope everyone has a good day 😊

3dogs2cats · 27/07/2019 11:32

Morning.
2 meals out yesterday, and I made good choices except for the beer. I am not going to reach my target fo4 July, but on the whole I think I’ve made mostly good choices this month and I am shifting my mindset and Balancingindulgences and I’m a lot more active, feel better, and that’s good!

cricketmum84 · 27/07/2019 13:36

Still feeling virtuous here! Had a jacket potato and a grilled fish yesterday. Avoided the crisps although I do have a snickers ice cream in the freezer waiting for me.

Walked 5k in crazy heat this morning/afternoon (about 5x what I do on a normal working day) and had a gorgeous salad of cucumber, tomato, avocado, feta and seeds. The restaurant grew all its own herbs and tomatoes and the smell outside was amazing! I'll definitely be bringing these salad recipes home!

Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday?
