Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

@Vebrithien I'm so sorry, having been in your position a few times I know how awful it is, be gentle on yourself Thanks

Ellieboolou27 · 17/07/2019 20:41

I'm finding this heat is making me so bloated and I'm picking a lot, had a lovely friend bring me round her homemade moussaka this evening(I lost my mum suddenly last month so has been very difficult). Although I'd eaten all my daily calories I still had some!

When mum died I lost 16lb in a few weeks as couldn't eat but now I seem to be hungry all the time, I hope I can start to balance out soon.

3dogs2cats · 17/07/2019 22:24

@Vebrithien. So so sorry.

CumbrianExile · 17/07/2019 23:10

Verbrithien I'm so sorry Flowers

2.5 off today so that is 1.5 off in july. Not sure I'll make 7 by the end of the month! But will keep trying. 2 more weigh ins!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 17/07/2019 23:27

Oh @Vebrithien I’m sorry. Its shit and it’s unfair and I empathise, you must rest and take care.

Nothing to report here. I just wanted to send my regards. Weigh-in tomorrow x

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 18/07/2019 07:21

Ellieboulou27 so sorry for the loss of your mum Thanks

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 18/07/2019 07:26

I'm weighing in at 11st 11.25lbs this morning, so a pound and a quarter since last week, I think.

Will keep my fingers crossed for my Friday whoosh.

cricket it must be so hard being pushed away (physically & emotionally) by your son. I'm so sorry for you.

Plan for today;

B: yoghurt & nuts
L: pasta Gorgonzola.

Have a great day everyone!

Fluffiest · 18/07/2019 07:33

Well, no exercise yesterday and I comfort snacked on a scone with lemon curd but I still managed to maintain.

Gotta go back to work today and still feel run down. So I've no food plan at all. Just gonna try and get through the day and not infect my colleagues.

Sorry your having such a hard time of it cricket. I hope your holiday really gives you the break you need.

lemonbalmtea · 18/07/2019 07:41

Porridge, omelette and turkey stir fry here today. Found myself with a spoonful of peanut butter yesterday but it flared up my IBS so I paid for that!

Sending good wishes to you cricket vebrithien and ellie

Ihatesundays · 18/07/2019 08:11

@vebrithien Flowers

So I have moved from 77kg to 76.7kg but I was thrilled to see the 6.
From the exercise my hips have shrunk again, just wish the weight loss wasn’t so slow.

lightlypoached · 18/07/2019 08:58

Another rubbish day yesterday and am
Back up
61.7/ 27%

A better day today I hope.

Pigletpoglet · 18/07/2019 09:12

Flowers @Vebrithien - be gentle to yourself x
and energy to those who are struggling - I think it's hard at this time of year when routines go out of the window, and there are so many times that you have less control over what you can eat. Usually gives me a 'fuck it' attitude, and I fall off the wagon completely...
I've had a 3 day conference, where lunches were all veggie/vegan, so carb laden. But I managed to eat less, and fill up with a 2g sugar nut bar. Managed to find a greasy spoon for high protein breakfast, ate meat and salads mostly for dinners, and avoided all the biscuits and cakes, which I used to find impossible. Weight is back up to 65.4 this morning, but fingers crossed some of that is water from carb-ish lunches, and maybe some is even muscle from all the bloody dog walking I am doing! Going to find a measuring tape at some point and check cm loss as well as weight loss...

snooksmcgee · 18/07/2019 11:20

This is my final check in before my holiday tomorrow. I didn't manage the 7lbs I wanted, but did lose 6lbs since the 1st of July which I am very pleased with, considering I had 2 big events that were packed with temptations this month. I did increase the amount of exercise everyday and I did lots of walking.

starting weight for July : 15st 8lbs
Today: 15st 2lbs

I hope I don't ruin the diet too much in the next 2 weeks, I'm planning to continue with the walking and will do lots of swimming too. I shall see you all in August.

Millie2018 · 18/07/2019 12:36

Morning/afternoon all. So I had a rare night out yesterday for end of term drinks. Feeling the effects today.
B. Wheat biscuits
L. Egg roll
D. Fish and vegetables
Exercise: no chance!
@cricketmum84 sorry to hear you are having troubles with DS. Hope things improve soon.

3dogs2cats · 18/07/2019 16:59

Good Day.
101.6 k today, another0.7 will see me achieve 3 k for the month. But I so want to get under 100. Need to stop eating extras.

Fluffiest · 18/07/2019 20:12

Haven't eaten healthily today. Bacon on toast this morning, pom bears for lunch Blush and fish n chips with mushy peas for tea.

Still to snotty to consider running but I did go for a short walk around the park this evening.

Going to have a hot toddy now and hope that tomorrow I wake up feeling brighter again.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 18/07/2019 20:18

Ooooh @3dogs2cats if you manage to hit the magic 3kg mark that’s amazing.

I am nowhere near, in fact I suspect if there is a decline in my weight I’d be lucky to hit 0.3kg not the full 3.

I will say this though - being on this thread has definitely made me:

  • snack less
  • binge less
  • consider what I’m putting in my mouth more
  • move more

I’m definitely going to be hitting up the August thread. If that’s another 3kg goal I may hit it as I’m allowed to start C25K after I see the postnatal physio on the 1st (assuming all is well).

So thanks you lot for keeping motivation going Smile

Ellieboolou27 · 18/07/2019 21:36

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch thank you.

This thread is the highlight of my day! Makes me feel motivated and reinforces that losing weight is hard work but results do happen.

No workout today - too sore from yesterday, food wise I've stayed within calories.

Ellieboolou27 · 18/07/2019 21:37

@snooksmcgee happy holidays!

3dogs2cats · 18/07/2019 21:43

@PaulHollywoodsSexGut. I know, sounds good, but it’s pink gin and cheese straws here tonight so...

cricketmum84 · 18/07/2019 21:44

Not done too badly today. Worked non stop since 8.30 this morning, only just closed the laptop. I've had a bag of baked low fat crisps, a third of a Morrison's cheese and onion roll which I threw because it was so dry, a glass of wine and a very small portion of pasta with fresh tomato and herb based sauce (zero points).

DS is home and agreeing to come on holiday as long as he can only wear awful horrible jogging bottoms and hoodies. I don't think he gets how hot it is going to be. Will let him travel in them but then pack a load of shorts for when the heat hits him.

Last weigh in for me tomorrow before holiday. And no I still haven't packed.....

Closing the kitchen. Stuck to plan until this evening sitting in front of the tv had a packet of crisps and 2 pieces of fudge. Considering I’ve been feeling hungover most of the day it could be worse.
This thread helps keep me focussed and knowing I have to confess my sins at the end of each day does help!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 18/07/2019 22:58

Glad things are looking up @cricketmum84

lightlypoached · 19/07/2019 06:02

I need your help to haul me back on the wagon please as I have fallen off.

Another day of ordinary eating yesterday and another day with wine (stressful day at work and home).

Have been too busy for yoga (had to cancel classes 🙁).

I'm just so tired. All the time.

Please send motivational help. Smile

Howlongtillbedtime · 19/07/2019 07:17

I have braved the scales after my blow out and over July I have lost 1 pound. I am back on board now so hoping for a couple more but the end of the month.

I really need to stay on track now and keep my eye on the ball.
I do find the social side tricky.

So today my plan is
Soup for lunch
Chicken salad for dinner
Out again to a friends tonight but I am going to go to the gym and stay on track!!

Good luck to everyone for today.

@vebrithien I am so sorry to read you news x
