Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

@Fluffiest are you sure that’s a cold? With those symptoms and considering the time of the year, could it be hay fever?

I didn’t have the best day food wise. Somehow I ended up eating so many crisps after lunch that I thought it best to skip dinner to make up for it 🙈 Not my finest day!

Fluffiest · 16/07/2019 21:35

Oh I hope it's not hay fever. I am prone to colds year round but can't say I've noticed a connection to pollen.

DH made me a very strong hot toddy. Kinda in a drunken zone right now. Need to resist snacking now.

TreaterAnita · 16/07/2019 22:26

Better day today though it has required a will of iron to stick to it as I’ve been starving.

B: skinny latte
L: Itsu tuna dragon roll
D: tandoori fish with salad & minted potatoes

3dogs2cats · 16/07/2019 23:19

B. Oatsosimple and an orange.
L. Wagamamas lamb nothe best choice.
D. Poached eggs on toast. Loads of walking- must find my Fitbit, and a good swim.

roseinparadise · 17/07/2019 02:59

I've lost 2.2kg since start of July.
Today's food:
B: Porridge
Snack: cappuccino
L: chicken miso soup (homemade) 1 WW points
D: spaghetti bolognaise

Howlongtillbedtime · 17/07/2019 06:55

Good morning everyone. I disappeared for a few days and I have fallen off the wagon in a big way.

Too many social things and I have the same thing the next few days.
I need a kick if anyone has one.
I am really annoyed with myself as I had been doing so well and I cant even face weighing myself.

We break up next tuesday and to be honest I am shattered which isn't helping.
I work with secondary children and support them with their emotional needs and this time of year is manic.

I am going to try my best today and get my fat arse to the gym but I needed to post back here and admit I am struggling.

Will have a read back and see what you have all been up to and try and find myself some motivation!

BrillyPribble · 17/07/2019 07:23

Keep going howlong - yes a couple of days overindulging isn't great but this change is for life so it's a tiny tiny blip in the grand scheme of things.

After my own struggle this month so far, I am firmly back on it and have FINALLY weighed in with a loss this morning, yay! 13 st 7.5lbs so 1.5lbs down in July. And within a whisker (1/2lb) of my first stone off. Sticking resolutely to 16:8 is what works for me.

Fluffiest · 17/07/2019 07:25

Woken up feeling rotten with this cold. Didn't sleep much last night. I'm going to take things as easy as possible today. I've got soup lined up for lunch and stuff for a chicken salad for dinner.

Hope you all have a good day

Millie2018 · 17/07/2019 09:34

I’m in this cycle of everyday feeling positive and determined and then within a few hours gazing longingly at a packet of crisps/flapjack/cheese. Anything really. I’m sure I’m not even that hungry in honesty. Trying really hard to stay motivated, but I’m struggling today.
So plan is:
B. Wheat biscuits and fruit
L. Egg sandwich
D. Soup
Snacks: Costa coffee and fruit
Exercise: none today as meeting up for end of term drinks tonight. So it’s likely the gin score will be off the chart.

lemonbalmtea · 17/07/2019 09:39

Yesterday was a buffet lunch. Couldn't resist mini bhajis, some fried chicken and a yum yum. I stuck to two sandwiches though. Also munched on opal fruits, cheese puffs and milky bar buttons.

Miraculously showing 1lb loss today but I think the scales are lying.

Today:

Chia seeds
Mussels and potato, watercress and pear salad
Mackarel with veggies

Pears are good for metabolism, apparently.

PeriComoToes · 17/07/2019 09:52

Today is going to be a struggle for me, slept badly and woke up tired and very very hungry. Have just eaten a big breakfast of toast, eggs and tomatoes. Definitely not 'hungry' now but the tiredness is making me want to eat something sugary, calorie laden and nutritionally void. Urgh. Must fight the urge to mainline biscuits. Feel like having a tantrum.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 17/07/2019 10:06

Howlongtillbedtime I'm not going to kick you. I'm sending you a virtual hug to give you the strength to keep supporting those children. Nearly there!

Thanks to all those struggling.

Been for a run this morning, then came home & had my yoghurt & nuts with a cup of tea.

Will have steak and salad at about two.

What really seems to be working for me (touch wood) is going from about 15:00 to 10:00 without eating every day.

I hope it keeps working, because I'm finding it fairly easy right now.

It might be because I piled the weight on very fast when I had my treatment last year: my body is ready to get back to it's learned weight (which was still a bit tubby, but not too bad).

Have a great day everyone.

3dogs2cats · 17/07/2019 11:28

Today was wholemeal toast for breakfast, don’t know what to have for lunch and chicken salad for dinner. I really need to figure lunch out. I am really hungry, long walk this morning and lots of cleaning. This is what happens if I have toast for breakfast, don’t want more bread at lunch but don’t know what to do, could try fruit, nuts and tuna fish, but think I will be ravenous by 3.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 17/07/2019 11:28

Well I'm sitting on the train wearing size 16 Reiss jeans (from eBay) that wouldn't do up two months ago.

All because of this thread!

Vebrithien · 17/07/2019 11:54

Sadly, not good news from me. Went to the EPU this morning for a scan, to be told that they could only see a sac, no embryo or fetal pole.
I have to go back next week to confirm another miscarriage, just in case there is any growth. However, to be measuring at 5 and a half weeks, when I should be 7 and a half weeks, would mean that I must have ovulated AFTER I got my first BFP test. So moving into the realms of the miraculous for there to be any growth.
If it pans out as expected, then I'm probably looking at surgery at the end of next week.
No weight-in today.
So tough, as I have bad cramps and awful nausea.
Take care all.

Sorry for the late check in today guys. Been a very busy time here. DS still won't go home, he physically attacked me when I went to get him last night. Grabbed my arms and wrestled me out of the room away from him.

I have so much work to do before I go on holiday it's unbelievable. I haven't even got the suitcases out of the loft yet. Still need to dye my hair tonight and going to get nails and eyebrows done tomorrow. I need about 10 extra hours squeezed into every day!

Today have had one of those graze style protein flapjacks from Aldi for breakfast. Then a wholemeal pitta with Aldi special lemon hummous for lunch. It was full fat hummous but it was so delicious I don't care. Dinner is a sachet of Cajun lentils with some salad on the side and probably another pitta.

Weight still staying steady at 20.9! But I did resist buying chocolate and caramel digestives today!
