Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

Closing the kitchen! Did my Zumba class tonight and worked hard. Stuck to plan with the exception of 3 chocolates (61 calories each). Not bad going really. Not sure what the scales will say, but going to weigh in tomorrow so I know how much I can eat tomorrow!
Hope everyone had a good day.

Ihatesundays · 11/07/2019 21:26

No loss in last few days but it’s my period week so not surprised.
I’ve done over 22000 steps today which included one walk of over an hour (my fit bit says 500 calories).
I’m at 77kg just now and my first target is 76kg.

Getting under 70kg seems impossible at the moment HOWEVER I got into a pair of jeans today that I have owned for years and never worn and they are really comfy! Inspired I got some size 12 jeans super cheap in the sales and I can get them on (too tight to wear, so will retry them on towards August.

hopeful31yrs · 11/07/2019 21:43

Tomorrow will mark 80 days of dieting and exercise for me. My weight also hasn't moved over the past week. Stalled at 63.6kg disappointingly but it was my bday on Tuesday. I've lost 1.5 stone in total. Clothes fit better but most of all I'm taking a bit of pride in myself again. Was working towards tomorrow because of a planned weekend away with the kids and wanted to be fun mum and have the energy to do it... I hope it's a good one. Back on it Monday x

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 11/07/2019 22:15

@Ihatesundays

omg could literally have written your post except I’m up at 78kg. I have a period coming, the first after having my baby... shuddering at the anticipation. BTW are 5’6” by any chance?

The feeling of having to take three size 14s back to three different shops and trade each one for a 12 felt amazing PLUS my beloved UNIQLO cigarette jeans are actually v baggy on me now to the extend I risk looking like they should be held up with string.

NSV.

Ihatesundays · 11/07/2019 22:22

5ft 6 - I wish! I’m 5ft 3 (if my shoes have thick soles Grin)

CheerfulChimp · 11/07/2019 22:32

@hopeful31yrs you have made good progress, well done! I've only managed to lose 1/2stone since October last year and then yo-yoed a bit. But since joining here, I've been more motivated and gradually losing weight but glad I'm not no yo-yoing anymore.

Quick update of the days highlights. I had an intense gym session this morning and snacks wise it's been a good day as I've had none of the forbidden stuff.

I started off last October at 73.4kg and since then dropped down to 68.6kg as of today. So far only managed to shift just over 1/2 stone.

my target is to lose another 1/2 stone and maintain it.Bear

Wishing everyone a good night.Biscuit

PeriComoToes · 11/07/2019 23:19

Had bit of a blip day involving all the things I'm supposed to be avoiding : sugar, alcohol, carbs, caffeine. Have gone over my calories and had triple the carbs I've been aiming for but had such a lovely day with an unexpected lunch out and a (planned) evening out that I'm not unhappy, it was totally worth it.

On the plus side I didn't go mad and am feeling confident that tomorrow I will be back on track.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 12/07/2019 07:02

Morning!

Had my whoosh this morning. I've lost a pound and a quarter this week, which I'm pleased with.

That means I've lost three pounds since the beginning of July, which is great.

Have a good Friday everyone Smile

Millie2018 · 12/07/2019 07:17

Snuck in an early weigh this morning and I’m up 0.2kg so need to be really good today and tomorrow for Sunday’s weigh in. I’d like to maintain this week at least.
Plan for today.
B. Wheat biscuits
L. Egg salad
D. Sausage and veggies
Snacks: Costa coffee and fruit
No exercise planned today but will do a very long walk tomorrow.

Howlongtillbedtime · 12/07/2019 08:03

Morning all

Weigh in today and it's not good news. Back to 13.10 which is annoying but fair enough. I have been too social this week which means too much booze which then means too many carbs !
This is not going to get any better any time soon. I need to come up with a better plan !!

Good luck to everyone and happy friday !!

TreaterAnita · 12/07/2019 08:12

Really struggled to keep to cals yesterday as I was starving and stressed but just about managed it.

B: skinny latte & apple
L: cappuccino & peanut Nakd bar
D: prawns, roasted veg, cauliflower popcorn & baguette

This morning I am only 0.2kg off my goal for the month which I’m pretty chuffed with by day 12. I do allow myself a (lot) more cals on the weekend though, so will probably be up a bit by Monday.

@howlongtillbedtime - I sympathise as I find it really hard to stay disciplined once I’ve had a glass of wine. What has worked for me is to be really disciplined for the rest of the day (obviously easier if it’s an evening event) rather than thinking sod it and writing the whole day off (which would be my natural inclination!)

Fluffiest · 12/07/2019 08:13

I finally lost a lb this week! Just one more lb and then I will have lost a stone.

Have a bit of a tricky day today, DH and I are off work and DD is in Nursery this morning so we have planned a breakfast date at our favourite cafe. I am going to want pastries! Then this afternoon we are all going swimming so I will try and work off the morning indulgence.

But then tonight we are having friends over for a games night, there will be snacks involved. I'm thinking about making popcorn and try to stick to that rather than crisps. And only one glass of wine.

All the best to everyone today!

cricketmum84 · 12/07/2019 08:19

Morning al! It's Friday and it's ❤️ Day 12! ❤️

Ivy seems a little weak and wobbly this morning. Vets appt later for repeat bloods so please keep those paws crossed for an ok result.

I didn't do too badly yesterday, ended up with a portion of chickpea and spinach curry from the freezer (zero points) with a grilled wholemeal pitta for dinner and avoided chocolate and crisps for the day!

Today is fruit for breakfast and snacks, not sure about lunch as I'm all over the place today once I finish work at 12.30, depending on what happens with ivy cats results we may be out tonight for dinner and rugby.

I hate it when I don't have a proper plan in place, I like to have control!

Hope everyone has a lovely Friday!

Morning.

At the end of a hard week. I'm knackered and drained and have so much work to catch up on it's not funny.

60.7 /27.4 % fat. Not bad as I have not really fasted much this week. Or done much exercise.

An intense hour of Argentine tango tonight is looking very appealing.

Happy that the sun is shining. Have a good day everyone.

LooseAtTheSeams · 12/07/2019 09:31

Hope Ivy cat has a good result, poor little thing.
Managed to dip below 71kg again and hoping to be 70kg or just below by Monday. We'll see...

cricketmum84 · 12/07/2019 18:07

Manic day here! Grabbed a vegan roll this morning in my run into the office, been in meetings all day then gone from work, shops, home, vets, back home, school run, back home, out for DH, back home! Haven't eaten anything since the bad bad vegan roll at 8.30am

DH and DD have gone to the rugby together so I have a whole evening alone! Well I say alone, it's just me, ivycat and a bottle of masons grapefruit and mandarin gin! And I've dug the gin measure out rather than pouring freehand so I can keep a closer eye on points.

Amazing news from the vets today, Ivy's kidneys levels have reduced so much that she is now classed as stage 3 kidney failure instead of stage 4! And her phosphorus levels are almost in the normal range. This truly is miraculous. The vets are so shocked.

I firmly believe that all the well wishes, crossed paws and prayers have got us this far. I have never known as many people care so deeply about one little tuxedo cat. ❤️

Now what to have for tea???

cricketmum84 · 12/07/2019 19:01

@Fluffiest you are doing fab! How was the breakfast date? And what is this 1 glass of wine you speak of?? This concept is alien to me 😂

@TreaterAnita what is cauliflower popcorn? I love cauliflower!

Fluffiest · 12/07/2019 19:29

Aw! Fab news about Ivy cat, praying this is the direction she will keep travelling in.

Breakfast date was lovely thank you, I had an almond croissant and a hot chocolate but then didn't eat until tea time, a small portion of shepherd's pie and a few chips.

Believe me, the one glass of wine now seems more potent and delicious than the bottle I used to consume every Friday night! This health kick is changing me in more ways then one!

But I can't get too smug. Friends have just arrived with doritos and dip. We also have chocolate and sweets and popcorn. Please send me self control vibes!

lemonbalmtea · 12/07/2019 20:50

Hooray for Ivy cat! Well done everyone on progress.

Oh the calories. Does low calorie wine exist? Dieting is hard when cooking for guests. I think buffet spreads are the way forward. Freeze leftovers.

500 cals over today. Attributable to wine and scones with cream. Reined it back in. Honest gov this is just a half glass.

Going to bounce fit tomorrow. Hoping for a loss this week as I have been house working like the Duracell bunny.

Millie2018 · 12/07/2019 21:33

Soooo pleased to hear the good news about Ivy 😻
Not a bad day. Stuck to plan with the exception of some chocolate buttons after the shop got delivered. No exercise though.
I have a lovely long walk planned tomorrow. I love the peace and the chance to reflect on the week. I’ll take a sandwich too so can’t go off plan while out.
Hope everyone had a good day today.

OhTheRoses · 12/07/2019 22:22

So thrilled cricket - this blasted grit in my eye Grin

TreaterAnita · 12/07/2019 22:37

Ah, what amazing news about Ivycat @cricketmum84, she’s making good use of those 9 lives.

Cauliflower popcorn is from M&S, it’s in the Vegan bit, comes with a kind of barbecue dip. I think it’s meant to be a substitute for chicken nuggets, but I tend to have it as a side. It’s really delicious.

I had a not dissimilar day, minus the feline element. Ate a decent breakfast and then run off my feet till past 7 when I ate some crisps for ‘lunch’. #healthy

B: skinny latte, slice of toast & PB, apple
L: crisps
D: pizza & wine

Fluffiest · 13/07/2019 07:05

Doritos and wine won out last night. Back to 9st8 this morning. Oh well, we had a nice evening, and today is another day!

Vebrithien · 13/07/2019 07:19

Hurray for IvyCat!
That's brilliant news
Flowers

lightlypoached · 13/07/2019 07:56

Hurray for Ivycat !

A busy work day yesterday. Scrambled eggs and small bagel for brekky, tomato soup and bread at lunch. Then spuds, cheese and salad. But then we went out. 1,5 hours tangoing (amazing!) Followed by a bucket of red, cheeses galore, a few nuts, fruit bread, truffle honey (yum) and fresh fruit. A few nibbles they said. Grin it was lovely. Got in at 2am. Grin

I'm hungover again (second time this week) but have yoga at 9. Hmm

Scrap that. I cancelled yoga. Am in the garden with tea and toast.

The scales are beckoning........! Will report in later
