Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

@cricketmum84 the only thing I can think to say is "oh bollocks"!

Today I have had cake and two large roses. Fish pie, peas and a pick around a fishcake.

Oh dear. But it is MY Birthday Grin

Millie2018 · 10/07/2019 21:17

Happy Birthday @ohtheroses
That’s wonderful news @lightlypoached
A mixed day for me. I went for my swim and did a PB of 75 lengths. Took just over an hour. I stuck to food plan until I got home and ate 4 chocolates. They are 61 calories each. Should get away with it given the swim and the fact that I’ve stuck to plan the rest of the day. Hope everyone else has had a good evening.

lemonbalmtea · 10/07/2019 21:54

Amazing news lightlypoached.

Closing the kitchen at 1350 cals. Forgot to add the beans to the app so overate by 100. Guess I'll make a saving tomorrow. Kind of stressed this week - I'll just try and make it through without too much derailment. Be kind to yourselves too everyone.

TreaterAnita · 10/07/2019 22:20

Evening all

Sorry it’s not better news about Ivycat @cricketmum84.

Small loss on the scales this am. A colleague brought goodies into work but included loads of fruit for anyone on a health kick, so I got to indulge without cheating.

B: skinny latte & apple
L: peanut Nakd bar, mango, strawberries, cherries & blueberries
D: steak & Greek salad

CumbrianExile · 10/07/2019 22:29

Sorry to hear about ivycat.
Great news about your mum lightlypoached. Hope you enjoy the meal and fizz.

So my first weighin showed a gain of 1lb. Not great and makes the next 3 weeks much harder. But I left group feeling quite positive.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 11/07/2019 06:59

So pleased about your mum lightlypoached Smile

PaulHollywoodsSexGut Haribo is definitely plastic waste.

cricket I'm so sorry about Ivycat Thanks

I hope you had a lovely birthday OhTheRoses Smile

The scales are showing I'm half a pound down from last week, so just hoping for my usual Friday whoosh.

Have a great day everyone.

Fluffiest · 11/07/2019 06:59

That's lovely news lightkypoached, hope you enjoyed your night.

I'm sorry about Ivycat. These little creatures can fill a big place in our hearts.

I've been stuck at 9st8 all week. Partly because I know I haven't been putting that extra bit of effort to lose rather than maintain. I gave my head a wobble yesterday and had a good run, and skipped the potatoes at tea time and stuck to salad.

Scales still said 9st8 this morning but I think if I have another good day today I'll drop a pound by tomorrow.

WantLifeToBeBetter · 11/07/2019 07:23

Fantastic news lightlypoached!

Yesterday day was good, but yesterday evening was a wipeout - finished a big project at work and then had boardgame night with the neighbours - beer, pizza crisps.. oh dear. And today I have a big work dinner "all you can eat, all you can drink" type affair. I don't even want to go really, but if I do the only way to enjoy it will to get stuck in. I don't know what to do!

lightlypoached · 11/07/2019 07:23

@OhTheRoses Happy birthday!

@PaulHollywoods that made me laugh. Bloody haribo. The only thing good about haribo is the adverts 😬

I'm not weighing this morning as I'm focused on my boy who is having an operation today. And I'm Hungover.

Christ, what a week.

Millie2018 · 11/07/2019 07:28

Morning all. Also at the hospital this morning for DD. Stressful. Plan is
B. Wheat biscuits
L. Egg sandwich
D. Fish and vegetables
E. Zumba tonight all being well
Snacks: not sure today. Depends how long we are at the hospital for.
Hope the op goes well @lightlypoached
Have a good day everyone

Wellthatwastricky · 11/07/2019 07:48

Good luck today for your son, lightlypoached.

Happy Birthday Roses!

I've finally lost the 2lb I gained from a big weekend however, today DH is off work and we have an extremely rare morning just the two of us, no small children. We're going to a lovely riverside cafe for brunch and I have no intention of just having what I'd like rather than worrying about calories, as it's been two years since we had a lunch out just us without a baby at least in tow.

Dinner will be a Soulful ready meal which is 350 cals, might have with cauliflower rice and steamed veg. Hoping that offsets lunch!

Wellthatwastricky · 11/07/2019 07:48

Whoops, I meant I have EVERY intention of having what I'd like...

twobambinos · 11/07/2019 08:22

Wonderful news about your mom @lightlypoached and goodluck today with ds

Goodluck at the hospital today with dd sorry can't see name on phone.

Happy belated birthday @OhTheRoses

Enjoy the child free brunch @wellthatwastricky

@cricketmum84 sorry to hear about ivycat news was hoping for better for you.

Everyone else onwards and downwards. I'll be going for a long run this evening well long for me. Hopefully. So that's the plan for today.

CheerfulChimp · 11/07/2019 08:25

Good morning!

@lightlypoached hope it all goes smoothly today.

Feeling stronger as yesterday I resisted the chocolate biscuits at work and the red velvet cake sitting on the counter in my kitchen downstairs.

I don't have work today as it's my day-off but still a very busy day ahead. Already watered the garden at 7am and done a short walk. Will be going gym at 11 for an intense work-out session and afterwards explore the shopping mall so lots of walking, aiming for over 5000 steps today.

Meal plan:
B. Lemon Tea
L. Fruits
D. steamed vegetables
E. Gym & a lot of walking
Snacks: almond nuts or pumpkin seed.

Wishing everyone a wonderful day...We got this!👍🏼

HearMeSnore · 11/07/2019 09:36

Ok...I think I'm in Jaffa Cake withdrawal now. I'm feeling all clammy and lethargic (although that could just be the weather...)

There's loads of treats on the table at work, but I dare not even have one. One of the habits I'm trying to break is absent-mindedly throwing biscuits into my face one after another when I'm not even hungry. I think my body is so used to a morning sugar-rush, it's actually struggling to know what to do.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 11/07/2019 09:45

Good luck to your boy today lightlypoached. You're having a terrible week!

Millie2018 · 11/07/2019 10:20

Just got a call from DD’s nursery, I won a month of bootcamp sessions in the raffle 😂
It’s a sign!!!

cricketmum84 · 11/07/2019 14:12

Sorry I'm so late today! Had a bury morning getting snuggled by Ivy cat, was running so late I had to do my makeup in the car! She just wouldn't budge from laying across my chest with her head next to mine 😍 and I wasn't about to mov me her 😂

Anyway it's day 11 already!!! Where is the time going this month??

So far I've had a wholemeal pitta stuffed with salad and a little bit of wensleydale cheese. It was a bit dry but hey ho. Tonight I'm making something with chickpeas though I haven't decided what yet.

So DS ran away from home AGAIN last night. Took himself a taxi to my mums. Because he had refused to go to school and I wouldn't give him a fiver for the shop. And now he has gone over there and told her how awful I am because I haven't taken him to the doctors about a rash he has on his legs, but doesn't bother telling her that I had made an appointment for him that I had to cancel because he wouldn't bloody get out of bed!!! And to top it off I had his head of year on the phone asking my why exactly I can't get him out of bed and do I realise how negligent that makes me. I swear my head is about to explode. I really need some chocolate!

@lightlypoached hope your DS is doing ok? And I'm so happy for your mums results, that's lovely news.

Happy birthday @OhTheRoses !! Have a lovely day!

@Millie2018 hope everything went ok at hospital? I hate the places!

Ah it’s worth running late for fur baby snuggles. Sorry to hear about your DS @cricketmum84. He sounds like a full time job in himself.
DD is ok thanks, just having some tests done. She was very brave.

lightlypoached · 11/07/2019 16:38

So his op got cancelled after we'd sat in a freezing cold waiting room for 4 hours Confused

No new date yet. We had a bagel to commiserate. I scraped out half of the cream cheese as there was way too much!

3dogs2cats · 11/07/2019 17:32

i have been good today. Porridge for breakfast. Cheese toastie for lunch and turkey tortillas for tea, as soon as I get up. Long walk and 45 lengths of the pool.shattered.

cricketmum84 · 11/07/2019 18:02

@lightlypoached oh god what an ability pain in the arse! Especially after sitting around for so long!! If your DS was nervous about it that would have been awful for him. I would have been in a right state.

Ability = absolute

Fat fat fingers today, much like the rest of me 😂

Hello, can I join. I've platoed at 70kg. Been looking at the 12 week NHS weight loss plan, but will probably stick to my fitness Pal. Keeping within calories (1470) I ate today, Beans and egg on toast for breakfast. 3 slices of toast with butter, a pear and an apple for lunch, ice-cream on the way home and home made spaghetti Bolognese, which was heavy on veg for tea. Husband brought home trifle, but I'll have that tomorrow.
