Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

Day 9 today and I've finally lost a pound!! Only 11 days until we go on holiday so really wanted more off than that but hey it's a loss, I'll take it!

Plan for today is:
B - usual coffee and a banana
L - small wholemeal roll with violife cream cheese and rocket, a few cherry tomatoes
D - kids favourite! Sausage chips and beans, I'll have cauldron vegan sausage, homemade oven chips and a small portion of beans. May add a slice of bread with avocado butter.
NO WINE!!!

Hope everyone has a lovely successful day. I'm going to catch up with the thread with my coffee before it's time to head to work!

Morning everyone , some fab losses here.
I am still trying to claw back the damage done over the weekend. This seems to be an ongoing pattern for me. I really need to come up with a better plan to get through the weekends without messing up.
I didn't make the gym yesterday. I am knackered (end of term in 2 weeks and I am feeling it )
Soup for lunch today
Cajun chicken and sweet pot wedges for dinner.
Snacks of sunbites and fruit.
Flat peaches are really tasty at the minute.

I am toying with the 16:8 . Does anyone have any advice or is it just sticking to the window and not going over cals ?

I hope everyone has a good day and ivycat is home soon.

LooseAtTheSeams · 09/07/2019 07:11

Absolutely static but at my new lowest weight so am hopeful can shift a couple more pounds this week. Might try running after work.
Yesterday was fairly good apart from a very small portion of fries! No snacks and low calorie lunch, though.
I have a new dress in my usual size and I think I am on the verge of going down a size (although in this heat I'm not wearing anything that might be a bit tight!!)
Love the photos of Ivy cat and hope she's home soon!

cricketmum84 · 09/07/2019 07:18

Naughty Ivycat has pulled her drip out! Because they have been in and out of her veins for 9 days now they are too delicate for them to get another drip in.

So plan is to try her without the IV for a couple of days and retest bloods tomorrow morning. Basically we have 2 outcomes:

Bloods improve or stay the same - Ivycat comes home and we manage her at home with medication and special food.

Bloods get worse - means she can't survive without the IV fluids and we say enough is enough. She will deteriorate very very quickly and we have to think very carefully about how much more we put her through.

My heart is breaking just thinking about tomorrow.

Morning peeps!

Did 2.5 hours of dancing last night.

60.5 / 27% this morning so finally starting to shift again Grin

Another 16:8 day today with yoga but a dinner out tomorrow with a bucket of wine so who knows ?

OhTheRoses · 09/07/2019 07:35

Oh @cricketmum84 Flowers

Millie2018 · 09/07/2019 08:03

Gosh I’m hoping for the best outcome for Ivy @cricketmum84
Please keep us updated on her progress as you can.
Had another caramel shortcake biscuit last night.... but they have all gone now so no more temptation. Must stick to plan today.
B. Wheat biscuits and fruit
L. Egg salad
D. Soup
Snacks: Costa coffee and fruit
Exercise: have said to DH I have to go out for a walk tonight when he gets home, even if it’s dark! Yesterday I did no exercise and I feel sluggish. I’m also super bloated today. Not sure if the caramel shortcake is to blame or something else, but the dress I want to wear this weekend will not appreciate more pressure around the middle.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Millie2018 · 09/07/2019 08:06

Oh and I’m wearing my elasticated jeans again today as a result.

Howlongtillbedtime · 09/07/2019 08:12

Hoping for good results for naughty ivycat.

lightlypoached · 09/07/2019 08:29

@cricket keeping everything crossed for ivycat. Xxx

twobambinos · 09/07/2019 09:38

@cricketmum84 fingers crossed for the little cat.

Well done losers.

I'm down to 147 so that's 2lbs since July 1st and 3lbs since I started a few days before. I'll take it. Let's hope it can stay going in the right direction. Would be alot more comfortable at the other side of the 140s.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 09/07/2019 10:32

Thanks for you cricket, & paws crossed for Ivy.

I always find Tuesday and Wednesdays a bit of a drag, but all the kids' end-of-term stuff is keeping me on my toes.

Whoever was asking about 16:8, I've been having some success with it.

I don't calorie count, but I only have two meals a day and no snacks.

No diet food, just a decent breakfast at about ten (eggs on toast or natural yoghurt with nuts), and a really good hot meal at about 2pm.

I find that if I eat something really satisfying and filling it carries me through the evening.

I do this Mon-Thurs, then eat three meals a day Fri-Sun, with one snack each day.

Today:
B: Yogurt, nuts & seeds
L: Satay Chicken stir-fry

BrillyPribble · 09/07/2019 11:26

I'm also doing 16:8, where it really helps for me is that it's a blanket ban on eating after 7pm so whereas I'd usually have some crisps, nuts, nibbles etc at night I have stopped completely. I then skip breakfast and have a snack (below 200 cals) at 10-11am. I'm using MFP to track calories too and stay below 1300ish. I don't eat any diet food, I think low-fat versions of things are worse for you than smaller amounts of full fat. I have filling and generally large portions of evening meals but things like lentil curries and loads of veg.

Ihatesundays · 09/07/2019 11:47

I finally lost some weight - 0.5kg which is a whole pound!

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 09/07/2019 12:22

Must be catching, I’ve dropped another 0.2 which means the needle is going in the right direction at least!

NSV: getting back into pre pregnancy (mum) jeans yay

lightlypoached · 09/07/2019 13:04

After a 19 hour fast just popped into Leon for lunch.

A vegan burger, crushed pea salad and carrot/ginger juice @740 calories. Nice but not a daily thing, luckily.

If I was vegan I'd be enormous!

cricketmum84 · 09/07/2019 14:31

My sandwich was soggy and the lettuce had gone soft :(

Didn't do too badly though and ran to Morrison's for 2 hard boiled eggs and a pack of watermelon. I've got some baked crisps for later this afternoon if I get peckish!

Anxiety is being a cow today. Had my first day of lower dose ADs yesterday and it's kicking off all sorts of stress reactions. Just realised I have had my jaw clamped tight for god knows how long. No wonder I have a constant pain in my temples!!

CheerfulChimp · 09/07/2019 16:42

It was a bit of a struggle but managed to go for a run at 5:30am this morning and felt exhilarating afterwards. I'm now paying for it at work now as the tiredness is catching-up with me and I don't finish until 9pm.

I've had a jacket potato for lunch and have been drinking plenty of water. I want to be in my bed at this point but going to power through till the end.Confused

Crazzzycat · 09/07/2019 16:52

I’ve spent most of today traveling to London. So far, I’ve had a wrap and a few Candy Kitten sweets 😳 No idea what dinner is going to be yet.

Eating out is a real challenge for me, because many common foods trigger my IBS, which in turn triggers my anxiety, which makes the IBS even worse. Such a fun vicious circle to be stuck in 😂

I hope I can find anything remotely healthy. Otherwise it will just have to be Candy Kittens for dinner tonight

Speaking of kittens, I really hope your cat will continue her recovery @cricketmum84. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for her

OhTheRoses · 09/07/2019 20:01

I ended up having a v stressful evening last night followed by a mega busy day today. Left house before 7 and just home. Almost back to back meetings tòday. I have not eaten and am not hungry. Have had 6 jelly babies today and having a g&t. Surely I must lose a lb by tomorrow. Surprised I hadn't lost anything this am as left my dinner last night

lemonbalmtea · 09/07/2019 21:27

Closing the kitchen (love that phrase!) on 1250 cals. My exercise plans are going to pot as I have lots to do by the weekend (guests coming) but will try and walk more.

cricketmum I am also tapering ads- hope it works out. I had all sorts of symptoms for the first ten days so in the end I decided to drop slower. Am now alternating days 12.5/25mg and will then space 25mg to every two then three days before reducing it. I feel fine now with no anxiety, exercise and veggies help too.

WantLifeToBeBetter · 09/07/2019 22:14

Hugely impressed with your running @CheefulChimp!

Stressful day at work followed by a large glass of malbec at the pub with a colleague - not ideal especially I have evening plans for the next 3 nights which will involve drinking..

In the positive side, no snacks at all, lots of water and I did stop at one glass so could easily have been worse.
B - egg and salmon roll
L - salad box with tuna mayo, banana
D - tomato soup, bread roll, "protein cheese", yoghurt & apple

Millie2018 · 09/07/2019 22:30

Just checking in. Went for my walk once DH got in and managed 4 miles, which I’m pleased with as I really didn’t feel like it.
Stuck to my food plan today too, but going to bed feeling hungry. Hope it doesn’t take too long to nod off. Night all.

TreaterAnita · 09/07/2019 22:32

Back down to my pre-weekend away weight this morning (actually just below it) so that’s made me happy.

@OhTheRoses I’m sure you’ll see a loss tomorrow on 6 jelly babies and a G&T. Amazed you’re not starving!

B: skinny latte
L: prawn & avocado salad (from the M&S deli counter, delicious)
D: chicken kebabs with Bombay potatoes, Spanish courgettes & salad

WantLifeToBeBetter · 10/07/2019 06:12

Feeling pretty awful this morning after a bad nights sleep - and blaming the malbec!
