Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

@cricketmum84

Little cat is beautiful ❤️

Ihatesundays · 08/07/2019 11:19

No weight loss again... sigh.

TreaterAnita · 08/07/2019 11:51

Gorgeous Ivycat!

Project ‘damage limitation’ seems to have worked reasonably well, I’m 0.9kg up on Thursday morning but 1.3kg down from 1 July so happy with that. No diet-jeopardising plans for this week.

Yesterday:

B: 1 slice toast with butter
L: Mexican chicken salad
D: Roast chicken with potatoes & salad, wine

Crazzzycat · 08/07/2019 11:59

My scales tell me I’ve gained over 2 kg overnight! There’s no way that’s right, so I won’t be posting my stats today.

I had a reasonably good week last week, but we did have birthday celebrations at the weekend. I think I did ok though, and definitely didn’t eat enough to gain that amount of weight.

I have the week from hell coming up and my anxiety is already sky high. I’m not sure if I have the energy to count calories to be honest. Think I’ll just focus on eating healthy and getting myself through this week.

SwimmerGirl40 · 08/07/2019 14:08

Just checking if anyone is taking vitamin supplements? I’m on low dairy so my calcium is very low.

I got some vitamins with calcium from Asda.

cricketmum84 · 08/07/2019 14:26

Ivy cat bloods have improved again, vet was careful to say they are still very high but definitely going in the right direction. I'm starting to panic now as we fly in 12 days and I don't know what we will do if she still isn't right.

@SwimmerGirl40 yes I take supplements. I'm veggie but leaning towards vegan if I could just give up the cheese! I take a daily B12 as it's the only thing that's only found in meat, fish and dairy and a daily vegan supplement from H&B x

Yup, I take a vitamin swimmer, mostly to get my calcium up like you as I don't eat a lot of dairy.

lemonbalmtea · 08/07/2019 16:10

I have nut milks - almond and hemp which have calcium. Not sure I'd make it otherwise as I don't do much dairy. Do you feel any benefits from calcium supplements?

I sometimes take Feroglobin Plus or deliberately have low salt marmite to reach b vitamins and iron as I don't eat meat every day. If I feel lacking focus zinc really helps, occasionally. I also take Omega 3 most days.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 08/07/2019 16:28

Afternoon!

Some great losses on here! Very inspiring.

I've been for a run today & mucked out the house.

B: home made yoghurt, nuts & seeds
L: cauliflower cheese & buttered baguette.

That's it till tomorrow.

See you then!

easterholidays · 08/07/2019 17:03

Afternoon! I was intending to only weigh myself once a week but I couldn't resist a peek at the scales this morning and I seem to have lost 4lb since starting with 16:8 on Thursday! Thanks to those who gave me help with figuring out how to make it work for me. I've been making a brunch-type meal around 1pm (huevos rancheros, an omelette or baked beans with grated cheese), then snacking on fruit if I want to mid-afternoon, and a supper of jacket potato or fish with salad or vegetables, though tonight I'm slicing up some frankfurters to add to a veggie soup my mum made in vast quantities yesterday. I'm trying not to go crazy with carbs but not cutting them out, and so far, fingers crossed, it's felt way easier than any other healthier eating plan I've tried in the past.

Skinnywish1 · 08/07/2019 17:07

Well after a pretty shitty week emotionally and physically I have lost a lb this week which I find amazing. I will take that. Great losses everyone.

lightlypoached · 08/07/2019 17:55

@Ihatesundays what approach are you taking? Can any of us lot help with ideas, guidance or suggestions? The hive mind is 👊on here

lightlypoached · 08/07/2019 18:42

Just off to dancing

Closing the kitchen at 960 calories.

Weigh in tomorrow Smile

SwimmerGirl40 · 08/07/2019 19:04

Closing the kitchen on 1,325 calories. Under the 1380 that MFP allows.

OhTheRoses · 08/07/2019 20:36

Been to ww. Got my 1st award. 15lb since 15 April. V slow. Has its ups and downs.

Good news about Ivy and lovely to see other cats. Sorry to hear about those suffering from anxiety.Flowers

Ihatesundays · 08/07/2019 20:37

@lightlypoached I have cut the snacks and the crap. I am wearing my Fitbit and using the calories from that and using MyFitnessPal to monitor my food to make sure there is a deficit of at least 500 calories a day.
I’ve upped my steps to average 15k a day, I’m doing a short HITT workout twice a week, a class once a week and using the exercise bike twice a week!
I have lost about 3.5kg however it’s been very very slow (I lost 0.3kg in the last 10 days) and I am nearly a size smaller. But I am desperate to lose actual weight, I know it would also help me workout better.
I was 10kg lighter this about 5 years ago, and I still needed to lose another 10 on top of that at least.

I’m just a bit frustrated. I’ve done weight watchers before, however I don’t think it’s good choices food wise...

Aaarrrggghhh

Millie2018 · 08/07/2019 20:46

I stick to food plan but no exercise today. Hope everyone has had a good day today.

Millie2018 · 08/07/2019 20:47

Stuck

WantLifeToBeBetter · 08/07/2019 22:04

I haven't had a great day in terms of structured meals, but no chocolate, crisps or booze so could have been worse
B - banana, protein bar
L - salad box
D - Starbucks vegan wrap, fruit salad
Snacks - protein bar, smoked almonds, fruit salad
Now winding down with a low cal hot chocolate (in lieu of the wine I'd really like) and maybe some salad.
Need to focus on structured meals and plenty of water tomorrow.

crivit · 08/07/2019 22:09

After a lovely start to last week weight wise, a couple of extra stressy days and then 2 days of car travel took their toll so I was only 100g down on my weight of 01/07 so now at 75.1kg.

Ok day food wise today although no exercise. Breakfast was an apple plus cereal and soya yog. Lunch was a veggie sausage, salad leaves (vinaigrette), olives, tomato, sweetcorn, red pepper, mushroom pâté, 4 g-f crackers and a glass of grapefruit juice. Dinner was yet more salad leaves with beetroot, olives, tomato, cornichons, biryani balls and houmous with bread, and a cherry yog to finish. Silly warm where I am hence all the salads. I need new salad recipes!

On the plus side I have at least remembered to put some overnight soaked oats on.

And, a NSV of getting comfortably into a dress I bought to wear last summer but couldn't zip up 😁

Yay on the still improving blood results for ivycat!

WantLifeToBeBetter · 08/07/2019 22:40

@crivit that menu sounds lush.

Sorry if I'm being thick but what does NSV mean?

crivit · 08/07/2019 22:45

@WantLifeToBeBetter - thank you. It was pretty nice 😊

NSV - non scale victory. So, while the scales weren't nice to read this morning, my wardrobe was a lot friendlier 😁

TreaterAnita · 08/07/2019 22:56

Thought I might struggle today as I didn’t sleep brilliantly and felt quite sluggish but managed to stay on track.

B: skinny latte
L: cappuccino & peanut Nakd bar
D: vegan sausages with baguette, salad & potato salad

Fluffiest · 09/07/2019 06:56

Made a cake yesterday with DD and ate more of the batter than I should.

Also felt super sleepy yesterday so didn't exercise in the evening and was in bed before 10.

So no loss today, luckily no gain either. Hoping to have more energy today. I know that the exercise is important for me to lose weight.

WantLifeToBeBetter · 09/07/2019 07:04

Ahhhh.. In that case that's great - congrats!
