Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

Ended up having a burger and Mediterranean veggies for dinner. The kids had ice cream for pudding and I had a bowl of fruit.
No exercise today and won’t be doing any this weekend either. Will have to be good tomorrow but I’m at a christening and there will be a buffet. It’s going to be tough.

CheerfulChimp · 05/07/2019 22:37

Glad, I completed the morning run, but it took a lot of will power to eventually exit the house. Afterwards , I felt super great! Wink

Really helped to set the scene for the rest of the day which was lovely.

pookypup · 05/07/2019 22:45

Checking in at 1299 cals today, (banking a bit of spare for tomorrow). Three simple changes worked well and still felt like a good Friday night - single G&T instead of double, Prosecco instead of red wine and no pre dinner nibbles. Probably saved about 400cals with that!

Nice to read about everyone getting on well, and those who didn’t stick to the plan - it’s Friday and I think we are all allowed one evening a week off? Grin

@LosingLola I hope you had a better day today.

TreaterAnita · 05/07/2019 22:50

@CheerfulChimp I love running first thing, especially in summer, but God is it hard to get out of bed so kudos to you.

Shattered this evening having spent the whole day at Legoland. Pre-schooler DD was a trooper. I did over 20k steps, & she must have done more as she bombed around the playground and splash park too.

Didn’t do too badly with damage limitation:

B: skinny latte & croissant
L: Pret veggie New Yorker sandwich
D: bread & oil, fish & chips, ‘some’ wine

WantLifeToBeBetter · 05/07/2019 23:21

Thanks MilesJuppIsMyBitch - you can always rely on Kate Moss Wink

Well done for the run CheerfulChimp!

I didn't have a great day, diet wise, but it definitely could have been worse:
B - cheese and marmite ciabata, half a strawberry & banana smoothie
L - spicy bean wrap, almonds
D - Argentinian meze platter thing, lemonade
S - watermelon, strawberries, plain yoghurt with a teaspoon of jam
Treated myself to a glass of 0.5% wine when I got home Smile.

Working a long day again tomorrow so intending to stick with the "filling meals" plan as it seemed to work but try to cut back on the sugar (no lemonade/jam).

lightlypoached · 06/07/2019 07:05

Morning losers !😂

60.9 /29% this morning.

Managed a 16:8 and a whopping 1600 cals yesterday.

Busy but sedentary day today until the dance fest this evening when I plan to throw all sorts of shapes across the dance floor. Am hoping I don't make a tit of myself like last time (had 3 lessons went to a strictly dance eve stuffed with professionals and tried to dance. Got back to my seat and my dance teacher says 'well done for trying. I didn't want to say anything but you just danced with several world champions' '. I trod on their feet, swung the wrong way and was a bit sweary and apologetic 😂 well we all have to start somewhere right?) . Whatever the outcome I will burn the g&t calories 😬

@cricket any news on little Ivycat?

Fluffiest · 06/07/2019 07:56

Grin lightlypoached that made me giggle, hope you have a good time dancing tonight!

Lost 1lb so I'm down to 9st8. I feel that it's getting trickier to shed the pounds now. I have been getting away with losing by cutting out snacks and doing 20 minute exercise, but I think I am at the point where I need to make healthier more veg based meals to continue to make progress. I don't know why that feels like such a chore but it does.

I'm also facing today without any plan. DH has pancake batter in the fridge ready for breakfast, but I have no idea how we are going to spend this Saturday. Hopefully we'll think of something to get us up on our feet!

BrillyPribble · 06/07/2019 08:00

We finished school yesterday and had prize-giving which is always well catered with a cream tea etc! I didn't bother counting calories yesterday but I did have mostly salad from the buffet and only one half of a jam/cream scone so compared with previous years I am very much counting that as a win! Both my kids won prizes too so super proud mum moments as well. Grin
And now we're into the holidays and the lack of routine which will take some adapting to. I work term-time in a private school so am motivated by the fact that I now won't see my work colleagues for nearly 9 weeks - I'd love to have dropped a stone by then and go back to work needing new work clothes so will try and keep that in mind.

TimesAreHardForDreamers · 06/07/2019 08:02

It's been a busy, stressful sort of week this week so it's taken me till now to catch up on this thread. Thank you for all being awesome!
Weigh in today I'm 11.7 so I'm up a pound this week but AF is very imminent so just gotta power through it and hope for a drop next week.
Tonight I'm going OutOutOut, as in to a club, that doesn't start till 11 and there will be dancing. This is the first time I've done this since before I was pregnant (eldest is 6!) and it's the panic though of dancing in 'this' body that led me to Google how to lose weight and find the June thread, and you guys have helped me so much.
So, I'm giving myself a free pass for tonight, and probably tomorrow when I'm hungover. Then back on it on Monday!!

LooseAtTheSeams · 06/07/2019 08:08

Cheerfulchimp you're inspiring me to get out early tomorrow morning and go for a run - it's yoga this morning, though, so no running today.
Yesterday was a bit of a disaster carb wise but I know now that one blip doesn't mean it's all over. I've also cheered myself with the thought that though the weight loss has slowed right down at least I'm still below my previous lowest weight and I'm positive I will get below the 70kg barrier before long!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 06/07/2019 08:24

Morning!

Had three glasses of wine instead of two, so I'm hungover 😎

Millie2018 · 06/07/2019 08:26

Managed a lie in today as DS slept until 6! That’s a massive win in our house! We have a really busy weekend, will be doing a long drive to a christening today so unsure what the buffet will hold. Rough plan for today:
B. Wheat biscuits and fruit
L. Sandwiches and crisps
D. Vegetable stir fry
No exercise today and will try really hard to be disciplined at the buffet.
Have a good day everyone and enjoy the sunshine!

cricketmum84 · 06/07/2019 08:42

Morning all! It's ❤️ Day 6 ❤️

I went for the cheeseless pizza last night and had half of it for 363 cals. It was a lot nicer than I expected. I did have a couple of gins though as well but I turned down the last doughnut 😂

Hopefully going up to a local gala day today, DS is meeting some friends and going on some rides and me and DH are off to hunt down the beer and gin tents and enjoy some live music. DD is away with my parents this weekend so it feels like we are kinda kid free as DS is almost 15 and pretty much does his own thing.

Ivycat is due more blood tests this morning. Nervously awaiting a call with the results by about 12.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! I'm sticking to my mantra below this weekend! No more accidental doughnuts!

Two breakfasts already today but they were both (relatively) healthy so no badness here; one youghurt with honey and linseed and the other a modest bowl of Fruit and Fibre.

Now away to a Parkrun but to volunteer: still on my post CSection run ban.

Fluffiest · 06/07/2019 15:27

A nice thing happened today. We went shopping and I tried on a dress and thought I looked good. That hasn't happened in a long time so I bought it. 😁 I'm just two pounds away from losing a stone altogether and I can feel the difference. Its really encouraging me to keep going!

cricketmum84 · 06/07/2019 15:49

I'm having a Prosecco and vintage dress kinda day ❤️❤️❤️

Rushed around all day, holiday laundry all done, everything unpacked, been to sainsburys, hopped on scales and back down to 12.12. Was 12.10 day before we went away and would be v happy with 12.11 at ww on Monday at 7pm.

Cat boy was so pleased I was home I woke up to a greenfinch next to my slippers this morning!

cricketmum84 · 06/07/2019 17:30

Ivy cat update and really good news.

Repeat blood tests have shown her creatinine levels drop to 505!! And phosphorus from 60 to 36!

Now while this does look like a huge jump it's still way way over normal levels but the vet was optimistic that they could keep dropping!

We are booked in to visit tomorrow morning, I've missed her so much and can't wait for some snuggles! there is a chance that if things keep progressing this way they have been we could have her home in 4 days!!!! The vets are amazed at her fight and her improvement.

A huge thank you to each and everyone of you that's been sending positive thoughts.

I meant to ask after ivycat @cricketmum84. How is she?

OhTheRoses · 06/07/2019 17:31

Cross post. Yay Grin

cricketmum84 · 06/07/2019 17:35

Thanks @OhTheRoses. While we know that if we do get to bring her home it will be with an element of kidney failure it's just so good to hear good news at last. I had a massive cry after I got off the phone.

Can't wait to kiss her fluffy little face tomorrow.

OhTheRoses · 06/07/2019 17:40

It took cat boy a week to recover from it. They didn't mention kidney damage but was touch and go. Was 9 years ago now! He has had one uti in that time x

TimesAreHardForDreamers · 06/07/2019 18:24

That's great kitty news! Go Ivycat!

Ihatesundays · 06/07/2019 19:56

No weight loss today and I’ve eaten more calories than usual (1500). I usually try and work out most days or go on a big walk but I feel totally shattered.
Bit worried about lack of weight loss. I make sure there is a deficit of at least 500 calories a day. I really don’t want to go back to weight watchers again, would rather do something sensible on my own.

peanutbutterismydownfall · 06/07/2019 19:59

Exactly the same weight as last Saturday so no loss this week. It's not too bad given that my ankle is playing up so I can't run, last weekend was a boozy one and I had a day out during the week. This week should be more disciplined so I'm hoping to go down at least a pound, perhaps two.
