Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

Fingers crossed still for Ivy cat 💐
Yesterday was tricky because of end of term parties - tried to stick to fruit most of the day but caved and ate foes in the evening to soak up the wine! Avoiding wine today though and doing yoga tomorrow/ run on Sunday so hopefully by end of weekend no net gain!

Fluffiest · 05/07/2019 07:40

Hoping good things for Ivy cat.

Failed to exercise again yesterday. Which is frustrating. But we did go out to the posh fisn n chips restaurant and I ordered the salmon salad, so I am proud of myself for that.

Going to have a fast day and want to get out of the office for a lunch time walk.

lightlypoached · 05/07/2019 07:50

Howdy folks.
61.1 today for me. Still 29% body fat

A fast day today so not eating until 1pm and aiming for 800 cals in my 8 hour eating window.

Starting off with a yoga class before immersing myself in a busy work day.

Lovely weekend to look forward to - choosing windows, doors and kitchen for our extension, followed by black tie dancing event by the river. Hampton Court flower show on Sunday with my lovely sis. Smile

Just as well as next week is cancer post -op results for my mum (everything crossed for good news) and a full anaesthetic op for my boy (waaaaah) as well as covering for 2 colleagues and doing my own demanding job that involves a posh mid-week black tie do (2 in a week ? That never happens) and travel to customer stuff. Easy peasy. Wink

Ihatesundays · 05/07/2019 08:10

Another 0.1kg off again today. Wish it was slightly more!

cricketmum84 · 05/07/2019 08:34

Good morning my lovely losers!

It's ❤️ day 5 ❤️ and also FRIDAYYYYYY

I'm off work today, serious rest day needed after the stresses of the last week. I have a couple of trash magazines, a book and some crumpets :) I would have had an empty house but of course DS refused to go to school again so will probably have welfare officer out at some point.

@lightlypoached fingers crossed for your mum and your boy. Next week sounds really full on for you.

Thanks for all the well wishes for Ivy cat. I feel like I'm stuck in this constant cycle of worry, really hoping we can visit her tomorrow morning and get some more head bumps. I feel like the longer this goes on the more the hopes of a recovery are fading.

Go forth and have a good good day today! Remember it's one step at a time. Focus on the here and now and what good choices you can make today!

Had a lovely light meal of left over turkish pilau and chicken breast slices cold with salad with avocado, cherry tomatoes, beetroot, radishes etc. Orange for dessert. 1 x cammomile tea

Snacked on 2 marmite mini cheese bites.

This morning granola with blueberries and yogurt (yeo valley apricot).
Plan to have vogel soya and linseed homemade egg mayo sandwich (mayo is Hellman's full fat, no margarine or butter), 4 cherry tomatoes and Del monte classic fruit salad for lunch

Wellthatwastricky · 05/07/2019 10:06

Morning everyone!

Lightly sounds like you have a lot going on! Fingers crossed for your mum and DC!

Cricket, I hope you get to enjoy your day off and progress for poor Ivy.

I've lost THREE lbs since Monday! Can't believe it, so pleased. Today should be fine, then the in-laws arrive and we're off out to a party tomorrow night and lunch out on Sunday so I just hope I don't go backwards. This week is a bit of a slog, I'm back on antibiotics and DD has also just had to start them too. She has a UTI and wakes every time she wees in her nappy at night as it hurts. I am EXHAUSTED.

I have been going for 10 weeks and lost 21lbs, and nice steady rate. Hoping I don't hit the plateau, would be so happy to lose another 6lb by the end of the month. If only I could always lose 3lbs every 4 days Grin

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 05/07/2019 10:38

I didn’t have a single sweetie yesterday and dare I say it...

...I feel good.

That’s the first sweet free day in I swear something like 4 years.

twobambinos · 05/07/2019 10:47

@lightlypoached I meant homemade style as opposed to sliced pan. If I baked it myself I'd have the loaf eaten before it cooled down Grin

@cricketmum84 everything crossed for the cat. Hope he makes a speedy recovery now.

Forgot to weigh in this morning. Did over 20k steps yesterday as I had a 10km run at lunch time. Food wasn't the worst made sensible choices but I did have a few treats. On with it today now. Keep busy and stay away from the kitchen.

Well done to all the losers.

Crazzzycat · 05/07/2019 10:55

Morning all!

I had a good day yesterday, coming in exactly on calories. I also hit my protein target for the first time ...because I cheated and bought some protein powder 🙈

I’ve been tracking protein for two weeks now, eating meat replacements, beans, whole grains, nuts and as much dairy as I can handle (which isn’t much) but no way am I hitting the recommended 55g of protein a day.

And I can really feel it. Every time I do more strenuous exercise my muscles hurt to the point I need painkillers to sleep. For months I’ve written it off as normal, as I’m not a naturally muscular person. But after half a protein shake after my cross trainer session yesterday, there’s only a mild ache. I’m not a huge fan of taking supplements, but it looks like that’s just what I need to do 🤷🏻‍♀️

jfk1718 · 05/07/2019 11:10

OK day yesterday. 18k steps and 1200 calories, but tomorrow is 1st day of hols and so slightly concerned about regression. Just feeling a bit in danger of falling off wagon.... must conentrate.

Millie2018 · 05/07/2019 13:25

Another busy day. Went to make my tuna sandwich and my bread was mouldy. Was seriously tempted to head to McD’s but instead chopped up some cucumber, tomato, onion and olives and called it a salad. Also had a banana. Really proud for not breaking.
No idea yet what dinner will be, need to do a food shop this afternoon.
Hope everyone is more organised then me today!

QueefMoon · 05/07/2019 14:05

Hello all. Joining in a few days late. I’ve reached the point where I realise I need to actually DO something instead of just moaning about it. I’ve got about 2 stone to lose.

TheCatThatDanced · 05/07/2019 14:36

4,353 steps today and 6,890 steps yesterday, not weighed every day.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 05/07/2019 14:39

Just tanned 3/4 of a tub of Haagen Daas, why.

I’m simply not letting ANY more sweeties in the house now. Unilateral ban.

cricketmum84 · 05/07/2019 14:49

I just ate a raspberry doughnut...

oh god we need to stop this @cricketmum84

TheCatThatDanced · 05/07/2019 14:52

OK dieters - if you get hunger pangs and e.g. you have a snack - mine is Nakd Cocoa orange bar - is it best to give into these or be good and let them pass?

TheCatThatDanced · 05/07/2019 14:53

PaulHollywoodsSexGut - I got into the habit of buying Baked Crisps and had one every day - they sell the multi packs in the mini sainsburys near my work. If i was to drag these in from home or shop for them in the big shop I could stop myself.

That is stopping!

TheCatThatDanced · 05/07/2019 14:56

QueefMoon

I have similar to lose.

I worked out I lost over half a stone winter/spring of last year (e.g Dec 2017 to Jan-March 2018) by walking faster for approx 10-15 minutes in the morning - but every morning. Aim to walk to you are a bit out of breath. And just reducing portion sizes. With me I also cut down carbs but still have them - so 1 potato I have half, rice, cut it right down and pasta - e..g a palm sized portion. Really trimmed down especially on my stomach. What's more, I had Christmas parties at work, people brought in treats - those mini M&S sausage rolls - but I had one or two a day then stopped. don't deprive yourself completely.

cricketmum84 · 05/07/2019 15:02

Well the boys want pizza tonight as rugby is on the telly. I'm going to get the vegan Mediterranean veg pizza with no cheese as I think that's probably an acceptable healthy option?

Well-done Millie it feels REALLY good to think 'fuck it' but then pull it back.

I had a moment like that yesterday morning when I stupidly hopped on the scales to find that I'd only lost 0.8lb since Monday. I wanted more!!! I had to really have a talk to myself about staying positive and not expecting too much, keeping on track and not giving up. Any loss is a step in the right direction. I expect I'll be having many more of these talks with myself. And if I do have a fuck it blip (and I bet I will) I'm going to draw a line under it and get back on track.

I went for a mammoth walk this morning so feeling pleased about that.

Just eaten olives, tomatoes, green pepper and feta cheese. Perfect for this warm weather.

crivit · 05/07/2019 17:23

After a very stressful day yesterday (which ended up involving cake) I gained slightly from the day before and this morning was at 74.5kg. Not great, but not surprising. Onwards and up(down)wards!

Life really doesn't make this easy does it? So many of us having to deal with all sorts of crap. But we're dealing :)

Stir-fry tonight I think but tomorrow will be a lot of snack foods as I'm travelling all day (maybe about 15 hours worth). I'll just try my best and accept it isn't going to be perfect food wise!

OhTheRoses · 05/07/2019 17:30

Just home 13st Sad. Had hoped it would have stayed under 13st. Can I possibly get 4lb off by ww on Monday?

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 05/07/2019 17:39

We're all struggling because it's the end of a hot week and we're human!

Start thinking about what you can replace the sweet stuff with next week perhaps? I keep fruity Wensleydale in the fridge, which I nibble on when I have sweet cravings in the week.

I'm going out tonight. I'm going to have two glasses of wine, then move into the Becks Blue. I'm feeling very fat today, but I'm going to try not to think about it & have a nice time.
