Following on from previous themread and on the lovely @VivaFridas behalf I welcome you all to half a stone off for June!

Welcome to all and good luck for the month ahead. I hereby promise to inject a little enthusiasm into each morning and stay away from the Greggs Vegan rolls.

Old and new joiners welcome, whatever diet or exercise plan you are following. All I ask for is positivity towards others even if we are feeling a bit meh about ourselves.

Who's in and ready for day 1 tomorrow!

Hi can I join please, Im slightly over 10.7 - I'm horrified when I try my summer clothes on - at this rate I am roughly going up a size a year - 3 years ago I was fine. I really need to get it under control. I lost 7lb before Christmas with slimming world but has put it all back on. I do like wine, might try cutting carbs and portion size.

HippoHips · 01/06/2019 21:33

Please can I join! If I could lose half a stone (I’m still working in old money) I would be over the moon. The biggest problem I face is that I actually eat reasonably well... I just think I eat too much of it. I also A) snack on the kids’ food which doesn’t help, B) refuse to give up wine (hic Wine) and C) drink way too much coffee! I don’t think I have the stamina yet to change either B or C so I’m thinking much smaller portions, no snacking between meals and maybe switching to black rather than milky coffee could be my first week challenge? Any other hints gratefully received.

I’m hoping joining this lovely group will really help me... left alone I have as much willpower as a puppy in a butchers!

Christmastreeohchritmastree · 01/06/2019 21:38

Forgot to say my aim. I would like to be 9st 9 by the end of june so a loss of just over 9lbs.
Without exercise I may find that too hard but I like to aim high Grin

HippoHips · 01/06/2019 21:54

I’ve just eaten a chocolate mousse whilst drinking a glass of rose - I’ve only been on the thread 15 minutes and I’ve already cracked Blush I’m currently 10 stone 7 and would love to be just under 10 stone by the summer.

Crazzzycat · 01/06/2019 22:18

Wow, well done cricketmum. That’s quite a transformation!

My official starting weight for this month is 79.8 kg. My weight loss has been slowing down over the last few months, so I’d be happy with any kind of loss.

In more exciting news, I went to buy some new size 14 jeans today and...left the shop with 12s. I’m gobsmacked. I started off this year in size 18s Shock

Tanaqui · 01/06/2019 22:21

Can I join too? I lurked in May, and even did 10 days of no snacking, lost a kilo- then went away with work and did nothing but eat! 66.6 today, and was 62 last summer, so got some work to do. Thank you for the thread Cricket.

BrillyPribble · 01/06/2019 22:33

AwdBovril I have a chronic illness too which makes it difficult to stand and cook by the end of the day. We now get Gousto boxes so we can still have home-cooked food but with the minimum of prep time needed - could something like that help to avoid ready meals? All the recipes have the nutritional info included so I just add that in to MFP.

Baloonphobia · 01/06/2019 22:38

Can I join too please? I've a 2 week old baby and I'm going to try some gentle, slow weight loss. I hadn't planned on trying to lose any weight so soon but I honestly feel great and she's the best baby in the world. I'm currently 13 stone.

Studentnursesos12e · 01/06/2019 23:05

I’m jumping on every thread.I’m 11.11 atm. I’ll take what I can get. Good day today

LeukaeLucky · 02/06/2019 00:24

Me too
I've put on 6 kilos in 2 weeks because of steroids and I find it so depressing
I'm so puffy I find it depressing
I've been to a fitness class today
So good start and good luck

LeukaeLucky · 02/06/2019 00:26

Hello all new joiners. I joined the May thread and for me the accountability helps. Fortunately I never had too much to confess, hence the 10lbs loss which DH hasn't even noticed

My plan for June is:

  • continue with fast800 on 5:2 basis (2 off, 5 on)
  • continue with minimum 16:8 but aim for 19:5
  • gym 3x week or more
  • fairly low carb but not carb or calorie counting, just loads of veg and salad with mostly hummus, feta, avocado or halloumi (I'm veggie and egg intolerant)
  • ignore all of the above 4-8 June while staying in 5* hotel

My goal is to lose 7lbs more in whatever time frame it takes.

ErrantTesselation · 02/06/2019 07:15

Hi! I'm 71.5kg and want to get down to 64kg. Started at 73kg. Not following a diet as such just smaller portions, no snacking on junk and no baking as I eat the lot. Also having salad for lunch most days. Its hard because as soon as I flick the "diet" switch in my head I obsess about good almost constantly.

ErrantTesselation · 02/06/2019 07:16

About food*

Cheguevarahamster · 02/06/2019 07:21

May I join. I never dieted at all but weighed 10. 6 at the end of March so I downloaded MFP, cut down on calories and I lost a stone by the end of April (early May) but now I am on a bit of a plateau. Currently at 9.3/4 and would love to get to 8.7. I don't think I have been under 9 stone for over 15 years so would love to hit that target. Currently doing coach to 5k and the shred so I am hoping it will pay off.

noseoftralee · 02/06/2019 07:27

Ooh can I join please!
Gave birth in Feb, currently 136 lbs. need to shed 17lbs to be where I was before pregnancy.
Breastfeeding and it is doing NOTHING to help with weight loss. I eat all the time. Penguin bars are my staple food group.
Following an exercise and mfp approach

Foreverlexicon · 02/06/2019 07:35

Yes please!
Not sure of current weight - I was 7lb into a 2.5 stone journey but have been royally off the wagon this week first started due to some serious stress and then ended up leavings dos, cake and that sort of thing as it was my last day in my job yesterday. Now 8 days off before I start my dream job!

So skipped weigh in this week as I’ll just be frustrated but back on it as off now and half a stone this month (from last weeks weigh in) would be great as I have a family photo shoot at the end of the month!

I’m just eating healthy, eyeballing calories and exercising more. It was working!

Fluffiest · 02/06/2019 07:52

Morning all! Day 2 weight for me is 10st1. I'm pleased with that. I had my glass of wine for the week last night and longed to have a second but instead I opened this thread and once I'd read people's updates I had the self control to resist the happy grape juice!

I'm really keen to drop that 1lb and see the scales say 10st0. Got a Christening today with a buffet lunch. Must resist the bowls of crisps! And am hoping to take the family on a walk this afternoon as we are doing the 30dayswild challenge.

OhTheRoses · 02/06/2019 08:04

Just pinning this:
19 April 13st 11lb
1 May 13st 4lb
1 June 13st 1-3/4lb

This morning I have broken 13st. 12st 13-3/8 Grin

Tomorrow is official weigh-in day at ww.
Really hoping June will be more fruitful than May.

lightlypoached · 02/06/2019 08:05

LeukaeLucky · 02/06/2019 08:15

Good morning day one
61.8 (should have weighed myself yesterday before proclaiming I was 6) so I've officially put on 8 kilos in 2 weeks of steroids)
I'm off to the gym and just downloaded lifesum to track everything
Anyone has used it before?
Have a successful day

Chocolatecake12 · 02/06/2019 08:17

I’m a bit late to the party but can I join you?
I’m going to start tomorrow - Monday.
Last night we went out for a lovely dinner in a new Turkish restaurant- utterly delicious but I ate loads Blush
And today we are hosting a family bbq and so I think I’d find it too hard to start today so as always I’ll be a bit behind!
Anyway reading this thread lots of you have done great in May so well done. I hope I can match that in June!
Starting weight........ 10st13.4lbs
Aiming for 10st

@lightlypoached I'm quite hardcore, it's not for everybody! It's based on Michael Mosley's Fast 800 diet, but I don't calorie count. I don't eat processed food, no pasta/rice/bread (don't miss them). I don't have breakfast or lunch. I've been working ramadan hours for the past month so have been finishing at 2pm, so I would not eat until after work and sometimes not until dinner. I have a hot chocolate weakness and have one made with soy milk a couple of times a week, usually one afternoon after work and a Saturday morning. That's why I don't count carbs!

If I counted calories, I guess I would reach about 1000 because some of the food is high fat - nuts, cheese, hummus - but that makes it very satiating. My tummy gurgles a bit some days but I have quite a lot of experience with fasting and hunger waves always pass, have a drink (water or mint tea for me) and do something else. I also only eat apples or berries, in accordance with Fast800 guidelines, but more apples than berries as I can buy half a dozen apples for the price of a handful of berries, although I often throw pomegranate seeds in my salad. You have to do what works for you.

We eat out about once a fortnight and I will go low card as much as possible until it comes to dessert, then no rules apply!

ilovetrees30 · 02/06/2019 09:02

So I weighed myself this morning and I'm down 3lbs. Not sure how much of that is actually weight loss or just loss of period bloating but I'll take it! Especially as my diet wasn't great this past week.
