Following on from previous themread and on the lovely @VivaFridas behalf I welcome you all to half a stone off for June!

Welcome to all and good luck for the month ahead. I hereby promise to inject a little enthusiasm into each morning and stay away from the Greggs Vegan rolls.

Old and new joiners welcome, whatever diet or exercise plan you are following. All I ask for is positivity towards others even if we are feeling a bit meh about ourselves.

Who's in and ready for day 1 tomorrow!

Good morning all and welcome to

❤️ Day 2 ❤️

Welcome to all the newbies who have joined since yesterday, wishing you all a successful month!

Well the scary meal with the new ladies last night was lovely! I was so nervous beforehand but they were all lovely. I had little paneer cakes to start and then a mushroom and spinach curry with rice. I stayed away from naan but did have 3 beers and then 2 big glasses of wine at the pub later so I definitely went over on points. I'll pull it back for the rest of the week though and make sure I'm under on points every day.

Today's mantra is below - as a serial dieter who always puts it back in again this one really resonated with me. I really hope that this is the last time I have to get rid of this weight!

Today's dinner is roasted cauliflower. I might put some spices on or something if anyone has any good cauliflower recipes?

Have a lovely relaxing Sunday!

Five weeks until I go on holiday. Current weight 12.5 stone.
Doing MFP and cutting out wine, bread and cheese and processed foods.

Forgot to say, exercise isn’t my issue at all - it’s my crap eating habits that are the problem.

Cricket oh that does sound lovely! And thanks for the wise words!
Yesterday went ok - I did cave and have some wine but will be wine free from Monday. Breakfast was cereal with soy milk, lunch was salad with 2 small slices of French bread and dinner was falafel in 1 wrap with roasted vegetables. Snack was rice cakes with peanut butter. I could have managed without the snack, to be fair.
Exercise is a bit of a pain, literally, at the moment. I got tendonitis from running so can't run at the moment. I'm hoping gardening counts as exercise!

Morning all!

It's my official weigh in tomorrow morning. I'm not confident of a loss to be honest. I'll be happy if I've maintained but I suspect I've gained a bit.

I've been a slave to my hormones this week and failed in any attempt to resist salty fat laden treats. It's been a shit week all round to be honest. Thoroughly, properly shit. I've been on my own a lot and had too much time to think. Never a good combination.

I'm off out for a meal with my parents this afternoon for their ruby wedding and I'm just not going to worry about it. I'm going to have a nice meal with my family and switch off for a bit. Tomorrow is another day.

Anyway, on a more positive note, this months Apple Watch challenge is to walk/run (I will be walking. I detest running) 134.1km, so far I've clocked 8.1km so thats a good start. And as I've said before I do like those little badges Wink. So that is my goal for this month.

Will catch up on the thread now, good luck to all!

Wow, so many new people on this thread already. Let’s do this! Smile

I started off the day with a 30 minute session on the cross trainer. The machine told me I burnt 350 kcals, which is a nice way to start the day!

Not sure what the rest of today will bring. Hopefully there will be a long walk at some point and a nice (but obviously low cal) dinner.

Have a good day everyone

All you people who have already exercised - I'm still in my dressing gown 😂😂

You have shamed me in going to get dressed now.

I'm just back from the gym but it's 3.30pm here. If it makes you feel any better cricket I was in my pyjamas until after 1pm as I didn't see the point in getting dressed before I went to the gym and then getting changed again.

Can I ask if anyone on this thread has thyroid issues and if so how are you loosing weight?

Report
OhTheRoses · 02/06/2019 13:20

skinnywish yes I do. Had a sub total thyroidectomy nearly 30 years ago when I was 30 and have neen treated with levothyroxine ever since because obviously 1/8 of my thyroid doesn't produce enough hormone. Last year my dose was increased from 100mcg to 112.5mcg daily. My TSH was 1.5 after 6 months of that regime and I feel great.

At 30 I was 9st to 9.5st and stayed that way until dd was born when it became harder to shift amd settled at about 10st2lb compared to ds when 6 weeks pp I was 3lb lighter than when I fell pg although I think infective mastitis and a breast abscess played its part.

Weight has crept up and is harder to shift post meno. However I think this is entirely to do with a love of food and wine and a parking space at work. I work full on 10-11 hour days and have little time to exercise get steps in compared to my younger days when I commuted and then chased around after littlies into my mid forties.

It is coming off, albeit slowly but that's due more to age and less exercise (I also have suffered and recovered from a fractured L1 so cannot do high impact exercise) I think than thyroid.

TheHoundsofLove · 02/06/2019 13:38

I've got underactive thyroid too - am on 100mcg Levothyroxine.
I have managed to lose a stone and a half so far - It is slow, but I think that's more to do with the fact that I'm nearly 40 and, like OhTheRoses , have too much of a love of good food and wine! Grin I do find that exercise makes a massive difference to me as it really does seem to perk my metabolism up.

Loads of visitors descended on my house bringing cake and a delicious packet of coconut and chocolate chip digestives so obviously I pigged out. On the plus side, just brought the dog for a walk for the first time in 6 months (I was on crutches for a lot of my pregnancy).

I'm hypothyroid but have hashimotos which is autoimmune. I'm also allergic to gluten. I have 4 kids and developed an illness after everyone of them. I'm at least 3 at overweight and just keep piling it on despite my best efforts. I'm on 75 levo but still have a lot of symptoms despite low TSH ( not that I believe in the TSH test). Weight is affecting my home and work life. I'm desperate

Hello

I need to lose 9 to 12 pounds, but will be happy with half a stone in June. Am eating low carb 800 cal a day.

Good luck all

@Skinnywish1 I have graves disease and when my thyroid was horrifically overactive 18months ago I could eat what I like and the weight kept coming off. 6 weeks after starting carbimazole I had put on 1.5 stone and I haven't been able to shift it. Currently I am medication free but I don't think my metabolism has gone back to a normal level.

Report
OhTheRoses · 02/06/2019 17:41

That sounds hard skinnywish. Thyroid disease of all types are autoimmune btw. Are you coeliac too if gluten intolerant?

I really didn't think I was overeating until I started logging my food. Weight watchers has really helped.

Argh I’ve had an awful day!!! Been working from home and very stressed which leads to me eating everything in sight! I did manage a HIIT workout but I’ve eaten so many snacks (and not much real food). I’ve logged it all on MFP and I’m waaay over my cals for the day. Closing the kitchen now (save for tea and water) and plan to go for a walk. Fast day tomorrow I think.

I eventually decided on Indian spices baked cauliflower with spicy lentils! It was absolutely gorgeous and I've got an additional 2 portions out of it for the freezer so I have a quick point free tea ready for a busy day!

Signing back in having joined the May thread for about, oooh, 48 hours! At least I didn't actually gain.
10st 12 yesterday morning. Want to be 10st6 by the end of the month. I have PCOS so weight loss can be slow but, if I am dedicated, that should be achievable.
Hoping that a combination of actually doing exercise (rather than just intending to do it) and mindful eating will get me there.

Can I join too please? Although it's a day late.

Got some new scales today and weigh almost as much as I did when 9 months pregnant at 11.3 today Shock

I think the weight has just crept on in the last 2 years, with some peri menopause symptoms plus also on amitriptyline for migraines which I don't think helps.

Never been on a diet as such before as previously just cut down on food and weight came off. We're going on holiday in mid August and don't want to be this big. Doesn't help that my husband is 6'2 and only weighs a few pounds more and can eat whatever he likes without putting on any weight and my boys (9 and 11) are the same. My clothes now feel uncomfortable and I'm struggling to fit in my bras.

Going to try low ish carbs, portion control and cutting down on alcohol.

Need some accountability as I'll just come up with excuses about being busy etc. Would love to get to 10.7 by end of June.

As always I got half way through today, cracked and decided to start tomorrow Blush Am so frustrated with myself. All my weight is around my hips and stomach but I’ve got really small boobs which means it feels really noticeable as I don’t have a cleavage to balance out my belly. I’m also peri-menopausal and have just had the coil fitted which I’m convinced makes losing weight even harder (nothing to do with booze or greed of course Smile!)

Hello :) please can I join?
I’ve been slowly losing weight since February from 18 st 2 down to 17 st 6, but would like to speed things up a bit as I’m getting married next year and want to wear a pretty dress!

My goal for the end of June is 16 st 13 :)

Should add that I’ve been away at a wedding all weekend and have eaten horribly and drunk loads, so am expecting a gain when I weight in tomorrow!!
