cricketmum84 · 31/05/2019 12:34

Following on from previous themread and on the lovely @VivaFridas behalf I welcome you all to half a stone off for June!

Welcome to all and good luck for the month ahead. I hereby promise to inject a little enthusiasm into each morning and stay away from the Greggs Vegan rolls.

Old and new joiners welcome, whatever diet or exercise plan you are following. All I ask for is positivity towards others even if we are feeling a bit meh about ourselves.

Who's in and ready for day 1 tomorrow!

Think I'm just about back on track after a dodgy week. Scales have relevelled to the 12st 12s. Oh the pity of self sabotage but the problem is it tastes so good when doing it Smile

cricketmum84 · 25/06/2019 14:44

I was doing really well today until a lovely guy in my office came back with about £150 of Indian food.

I was going to politely decline until he told me he had got a vegetarian speciality just for me. So I'm now full of veggie pakora topped with curried lentils, I feel like I need a nap this afternoon lol!

Hello all,

Just a quick hello as I've been AWOL. Have had eye infection for coming up to a month and every day feel decrepit due to ongoing cough and dodgy back, so my brief sabbatical from low calories is being extended until I'm properly better. I'm assuming (unscientifically) that I need to be on slightly more calories to allow my body to be in healing mode rather than losing weight mode. Despite not counting calories I've managed to only gain 1lb (so far Blush), aiming for maintaining for now and hopefully back on it soon. Still want to lose 10-14lb before my September hols.

LooseAtTheSeams · 25/06/2019 18:01

Oh dear, student brought in cake to say goodbye to lovely colleague. I gave in and ate a doughnut! The shame!
B: wholewheat toast and marmite, grapes
L: vegan mac cheese with spinach and mushroom, vegan yoghurt with mango
D: not sure yet but need more vegetables!

Riddlediddle · 25/06/2019 19:56

I still can't understand how I seem to be eating so much more than the others on 1200 calorie diets. For instance today I had:
B: porridge
L: egg, spinach and cous cous and snack a jacks
D: quorn sausages with quinoa and veg
Snacks: red grapes and the go ahead bar packets.
I started it throughout the day so it feels like I'm.constanlty eating my way through the day. I drink about 3 litres of water a day too. I also do 30mins exercise per day.
I lost 6lb in my first 2 weeks of the 1200 calorie day diet but this week I've hit a platau and I've only lost 1lb.
What am.i doing wrong?

cricketmum84 · 25/06/2019 20:12

@LooseAtTheSeams ooh can you share your vegan mac and cheese recipe please?

I’ve fallen off the dieting wagon. My period came and I started competitive eating... so I’ve had a bad 3 days.
Really hoping I can turn it around tomorrow or else I’ll be looking at a gain this week.

lightlypoached · 26/06/2019 07:13

@Wellthatwastricky sorry you've been unwell. That sounds a bit shit.
Thevfast800 book talks about the 16:8 (ie only eating in an 8 hour window) and how that kicks into action the 'repair' cycle in our cells rather than the normal 'growth' cycle that is fuelled by food. It quotes plentiful research to show that it's this mechanism that seems to protect against cancers and dementia. I have nk idea whether this works for other infections and illnesses but thought it might be interesting.
In he other hand if you're feeling shit ,marmite toast always works for me

I'm at 60.9 this morning. Another 16:8 800 day today. Not sure I'll make my aim of 60kg by end of june, but am on target for @cricketmum84 3kg challenge. 😬

Keep going everyone! 🏃‍♂️

lightlypoached · 26/06/2019 07:16

Blush so many typos. My poor old phone is so broken. And my eyesight 1st thing isn't too clever either.
New phone arrives today. New eyes ? Not sure that's going to happen 😂

cricketmum84 · 26/06/2019 07:19

Hope everyone is feeling happy and determined this morning! I had a rubbish eating day yesterday!

After the 2 massive pakoras I then had a strawberry cupcake from the bake sale, veggie sausage sandwich for tea and a slice of lemon Swiss roll!

Today will be better! Plan is:

B - watermelon
S - 2 hard boiled eggs
L - Morrison's salad bar
D - roasted squash with a little rice and salad.

Only 5 days now until the end weigh in and I am nowhere near the target. God knows what's happened to me this month. 3 weeks now until holiday and I've still got loads of previous years holiday clothes that won't go near me. Going to have a big trying on session tonight and see what I need to buy!

Wishing us all a successful day ❤️❤️

Morning ladies.
Drumroll please...

Today's weight-in is ... 100.0kg!

Meaning I've lost 1.7kg this week.
That makes 6.7kg since the start of June.
Total of 12kg from the start of April

And breathe!

Have lost 7cm from my waist circumference in 5 weeks. My first aim was to be under 100kg by the end of the school term. Have got 3.5 weeks to go, so looking good! I now have about 9kg to go until I am merely 'overweight'.

The nausea comes and goes, but is worse if I have anything carby (mostly with bread) for breakfast, so am sticking to a high protein breakfast. Soup is my best friend too!
So, plan for today:
Southwest style scrambled eggs
Carrot and coriander soup
Quorn and veg casserole with rice

May have an apple or fresh cherries as a snack.

Sorry for the length of this! Have a great Wednesday.

OhTheRoses · 26/06/2019 07:37

Morning all. Am posting this as a little reminder to self and a little encouragement to others to just keep in mind it's not all about 7lb every month but sometimes gentle, incremental decreases in the right direction.

April 15 - 13st 11lb
May 1 - 13st 4lb
June 1 - 13st 1.5lb
Today - 12st 12lb
(I think I can get to 12st 10.5lb by 1 July but will be on holiday).

I agree, it's so disheartening when everything seems soo slow but it's about the whole piece and it doesn't matter how long it takes. 1/2lb a week is still nearly 2st over a year.

Next target - break 12st7lb by 1st August.

LooseAtTheSeams · 26/06/2019 07:39

Cricketmum - there are 2 good vegan mac and cheese recipes I know - I'll post them today for you!

Fluffiest · 26/06/2019 07:40

Morning!

cricket I think what happened this month is a few big stress bombs and yet you have kept on going and hosted this thread to support the rest of us. I'm sorry you havent lost as much as you would like, but direction is more important than distance. You are still travelling in the right direction. And I think you are amazing.

As for me, the scales said 9st11 which means I've reached the 7lbs off target for June. I'm really pleased as this is the first time I have consistently kept to a weight loss plan for longer than a week. This thread has been invaluable.

I went shopping yesterday and for the first time in a couple of years didn't feel glum by what I saw in the changing room mirror. I'd still like to lose more but the knowledge that I am doing something about it and making progress stopped me from feeling overwhelmed.

Plan for today is cereal, salad and a chicken chickpea casserole. I will be able to exercise tonight, and I have a lot of cleaning to do today.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 26/06/2019 08:35

Morning!

Congratulations Vebrithien :). That must feel great.

cricket I agree with Fluffiest: your life sounds immensely stressful atm. It's physiologically harder to lose weight when your cortisol levels are high!

I'm a quarter of a pound lighter today, with my proper weigh day tomorrow. I can't get out running today, so will do extra-sweaty housework instead (bleugh).

Siri tells me that 3kg converts to 6.61 pounds. I'm calling that 6 and a half, so as I started at 12st 7 and a half, 12st 1 is my goal for the end of the month.

If I don't quite get there, I'll meditate my way to feeling better, then crack on with July.

B: yoghurt & nuts
L: lamb chop, salad & fruit.

Nearly there!

BrillyPribble · 26/06/2019 08:53

Well done Verbrithien that's amazing! I'm in awe of your willpower while pregnant, I just ate biscuits.

cricketmum good lord, you've had such a stressful time it's impressive you are on here checking in every day never mind anything else. Keep going, this is something you can do for you. Flowers
Official weigh day for me today and annoyed with myself because I really overate the last couple of days so haven't lost anything. Still 13st 11lb. I must stop snacking, it's my absolute downfall.
Today I'm planning on a Fuel breakfast drink later. Salad for lunch. Not sure what for tea. I need to up my veg intake!

mrsed1987 · 26/06/2019 08:58

So please, lost 2lb today so ive lost 7
5lbs since 3rd June! Yay! X

mrsed1987 · 26/06/2019 09:00

7.5lbs that should have said

Millie2018 · 26/06/2019 12:53

I’m spending all day fighting the urge to eat. I’m struggling. Just posting to renew my determination.
Had weetabix for breakfast and scrambled egg on toast for lunch.
Jacket potato and beans for dinner. Then Wednesday swim. Keep strong everyone.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 26/06/2019 12:58

I'm struggling too Millie18. Had to have my breakfast much earlier than usual, which really throws me off.

Just had cheese on toast. Better to eat something substantial (for me) than keep snacking.

KOKO

Vebrithien · 26/06/2019 13:20

Thank you Brilly and Miles.

Millie2018 · 26/06/2019 13:44

@MilesJuppIsMyBitch I did this last month. Had decent losses then struggled in the last week and ended May on a gain. I can’t let that happen again. Doing everything I can to distract myself. My main issue is being at home all day with no accountability to anyone about what I’m eating.

lemonbalmtea · 26/06/2019 17:45

Hooray I've hit the 10st 12 mark. Off to celebrate (?) at the gym. Had a slow couple of weeks. I find a couple of homemade soup lunches help when I'm stalling - filling but not too many calories.

Sugar sensitivity increases closer to my period so more slow-releasing carbs are needed then otherwise I want to cry or gorge on sugar.

Be kind to yourselves, the journey is on-going.

Look forward to totalling it up at the end of June and joining the journey for July!

AngelaScandal · 27/06/2019 07:26

Feeling the ‘want to eat all day because I’m at home with the baby and I’m exhausted blues’
Confused

Fluffiest · 27/06/2019 07:33

Aw angelascandal, I have been there! If you have a chance today, prioritise you getting a shower and a nap. It does make a difference Flowers

I feel like I am getting back on track. Had a run last night and I am beginning to actually enjoy them now. Something I never thought I would say!

I'm going to get a walk in at lunch time today. I'm told it's going to be sunny so want to take every opportunity to get outside.
