As our old thread was almost full, here's a shiny new thread.
If there are any lurkers about, please do come and join us - we are a friendly, relaxed bunch. Although, hopefully not too relaxed as we need to see results
Summer is just around the corner, so let's do this...!

greyandgrumpy48 I’m glad you’re back. I know it’s tough (I have been there) but please focus on you. Apart from my current wobble things are good. Its not just the weightloss but I am exercising more, reading more, listening to the radio in bed (something ex hated), having friends over more - generally just doing things for me.

Noboydogsbody Hope you’re doing well. I’m very inefficient as I go shopping most days. I never do a big shop but sometimes do an online order to stock up on bulky items like pasta, cleaning products, drinks.

mrbob date 3 tonight!

hello nicelegs I needed about a stone to meet my target but now it’s a stone and a half Blush. Well done on your amazing effort. Hopefully we can get to the maintenance stage together and work on it. How did you lose the weight?

houndsoflove thanks. I am completely out of my routine. That half a stone makes me feel gross whereas I was so confident a week before.

whencanIsleepagain hounds I am tackling it from today. I have had grapes for breakfast and water. My skin feels awful from the junk I’ve eaten. It’s not even that junky - but I do feel like a sloth. It’s not helped by too many late nights so I’ll tackle the sleep issue tonight too.

DingTheBell · 13/04/2019 15:16

Hi again everyone, I only managed Monday and this week Blush

Back on it today and have had a word with Dh so he knows how much I need him to help me, he's always bringing home choc and suggesting takeaways then making me feel guilty when I try to say no and I've had enough. It's hard enough to diet as it is!

StealthNinjaMum · 14/04/2019 08:32

DingTheBell keep trying, you'll soon see results and it'll get easier.

I have gone down about 2 1/2 lbs overnight. so only up about 4 ( don't have exact numbers to hand).

Will be going to the gym later and back on the diet properly.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 14/04/2019 10:22

Well done Stealth for getting stuck back in! I’ve managed to lose half a pound of the nearly 2 I gained.

I find it hard --impossible— to resist treats if they’re in front of me Ding so sounds good to ask DH to support you by changing some of his habits. I’ve had a rubbish week too which hasn’t helped by being under the weather. Time to start again for me.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 14/04/2019 10:27

How are you doing this weekend Greyandgrumpy, Hounds, Fiontar, bob and cello?

It’s 261 days until 2020! Grin

StealthNinjaMum · 14/04/2019 11:07

Whencan I've woken up in such a positive mood today. I can do this. And so can you. Well done for the loss.

Fiontar649 · 14/04/2019 11:27

LET'S DO THIS!

I am going away for Easter. This morning, I have gained another lb. I am partially blaming my period bloat, but mainly it is greedy guts.

So from today to Friday I am going to be 100%. DH is on board (I am lighter than him for first time ever I think)

In January I was losing 5-7 lbs a week.

261 days. Wowsers.

TheHoundsofLove · 14/04/2019 11:48

I'm fine, thanks When - stayed the same this week. which I'm fine with. We absolutely can do this! We are doing it! I really want to be at my goal by Christmas, which I should be on target for... I've got a favourite dress (it's a size 8) and I'll stop as soon as I can fit into it! So, 2 more dress sizes to go...which I reckon equates to about 2 more stones.

Well done When and Stealth for getting rid of a good chunk of the extra you'd put on - you're firmly back on track now.

Fiontar Have a good few days and, at the very least, you should be able to counteract a few Easter excesses. Then, get straight back on it as soon as you are back! I would get on better if I could listen to my own advice Grin

WhenCanISleepAgain · 15/04/2019 06:54

We can do this! 💪 I’m away from today at my parents for Easter so it’s not going to be an easy diet week for me. I’m very nearly back to where I was though which is helpful for motivation.

Fiontar649 · 15/04/2019 07:16

It is hard being in someon else's house. Well done at pulling back though- a great motivator.

I am going to my mum's for the long weekend. It helps a little that I am veggie so I tend to make my own meals, but there will be a few meals out too.

StealthNinjaMum · 15/04/2019 18:26

Well done fiontar hope you had a good day today. hounds you will be in that dress by the end of the year. I bought a dress in a sale last week that was so tight I can't wear knickers in it! I am determined to wear it to my school parents Christmas do and for it to be loose enough for me to wear underwear.

I'm cooking for my mum on Sunday and she's on a diet so it'll be a roast with fruit afterwards. Dc will have their easter eggs so we'll all be happy.

Fiontar649 · 15/04/2019 18:51

That dress sounds like a great goal Stealth - I have a skirt that I wistfully look at. I would say it's at least another stone away...

Food has been fine today. Feel much less bloated. It is so cold and miserable here though- I won't be venturing out for a walk!

Newme67 · 15/04/2019 19:02

Hi is GreyandGrumpy. I’ve been lurking and well done to all those who are doing well. Started counselling last week which was quite difficult so eating hasn’t been great. Trying to come up with small goals to work towards to help get a sense of achievement

StealthNinjaMum · 15/04/2019 19:20

Great new name newme67. I hope the counselling goes well. Small steps are perfect (even backward steps like we've all taken before we go forward again)

Newme67 · 15/04/2019 20:29

many thanks Stealth- i’m Sure there will be backward steps aplenty

Fiontar649 · 16/04/2019 07:24

Newme67 - a new name for a new start. I like it! 😊 counselling will be difficult, but I hope you feel the benefit of it soon. I think small goals are a great idea. The "final result" can feel too big or too far away.

Another Tuesday everyone... this year is flying by.

StealthNinjaMum · 16/04/2019 08:02

Unbelievably I am down another 2lbs. So I think it was 136lbs (iPad app not in front of me hence vagueness) so that's 4lb in a week. So glad to be fully into the 9s. I am short so while it doesn't sound like I weigh much that difference between 9 1/2 and 10 st makes a difference.

It's going to be a hard day, lots of driving kids around to activities and playdates and wondering when / where I'll have time to eat.

TheHoundsofLove · 16/04/2019 09:15

That's great Stealth - you're defo going to fit into your skirt. And if not, you will just have to go commando! Grin
I hope you're having a good start to the week Fiontar ?
It's really hard when you're at someone else's house When so I hope, at the very least, that you're enjoying yourself. Smile
Newme Maybe actively trying to lose weight is too much for you at the moment? Could you set yourself some little goals that are more just about looking after yourself? And a bit of weight loss will hopefully follow... It's great to 'see' you back though and the counselling sounds really promising. Flowers
Well, I'm giving low carbing a go. I do definitely get sugar/carb cravings and to be free from those would be amazing. I'm trying to be strict about no added sugar in anything and am avoiding bread/pasta/rice/potatoes but am not restricting veg in any way. I have an awful headache this morning, which I guess is the sugar withdrawal... I bloody better be stick thin by the weekend! Grin

WhenCanISleepAgain · 16/04/2019 09:46

Good to see you newme. Well done stealth for an incredible loss. And thank you Hounds. Things didn’t go to plan yesterday when I arrived but today is another day.

TheHoundsofLove · 17/04/2019 07:49

How is everyone getting on?
I'm pleased to report that my headache has gone now, so am feeling firmly on track. Of course, the weekend may scupper things a bit, but I just really wanted to break the habit of my all or nothing thinking. It would be very easy for me to just think 'sod it until after the Easter weekend', but I'm trying not to...

OP posts:
WhenCanISleepAgain · 17/04/2019 09:48

Glad you’re feeling better Hounds and that you’re back on track. I had a much better day yesterday. I weighed today and, according to the scales here, I’ve lost 1.4lbs. Seeing a smaller number is good for motivation while I’m away even if the scales are different to at home.

Fiontar649 · 17/04/2019 13:07

Day 4 of being 100% on track - it’s been a few weeks since I had 4 good days in a row Blush
Going to have a weigh in on Friday before I head off for the weekend. IF it is a nice number it might reign me in a bit over the break.

TheHoundsofLove · 17/04/2019 14:34

Well done When and Fiontar - we are smashing it! 💪
