Have read through a few old posts but can't seem to find a current one.

Glad you’ve had a good day Jojoe16. I thought the spag bol was the better meal out of all the meals. I’ve always had normal sugar free squash in my water. What step are you on? I started on step 2.

Sam3boys · 22/11/2019 16:38

Good luck this evening queenie. I’m always perfectly happy following the plan until events like that, when it becomes a struggle!! It’s good to be prepared though. I’ve got a quiz night at my sons school tonight. It’s take your own nibbles and drink. My general knowledge isn’t great, I normally just go along to eat and drink and have a natter. So there will be no eating and drinking for me tonight. I’ve bought a couple of cans of Diet Coke and will take my salted Carmel bites!! Hope you have a lovely evening Smile

Jojoe16 · 23/11/2019 12:36

Hope all went to plan for you Queenie and you too Sam3boys, I'm dreading events coming up that will test my will power further... I'm doing 3 shakes and a meal at the minute to see how it goes, and at the minute fingers crossed ot seems to be suiting me, I haven't felt hungry yet. Il tried the caramel bites and they are yummy....

QueenietheCutie · 25/11/2019 22:51

Oh wow, not only did I survive Friday evening - I wasn't even tempted to eat the Chinese - but I have also lost another 5lbs so I got my 1 stone rosette tonight! 🥇
Hope it's going well for all of you too, good luck this week!

Jojoe16 · 26/11/2019 19:04

Aw that's amazing Quenie , I might have to give your plan a go next week when we are having a celebration see if I can he as good without being tempted. I have my first weigh in on Thursday so im hoping to have shed a few pounds at least, I gave in to a gin at weekend 😬 hoping it wont have caused too much of a set back

Jojabega · 27/11/2019 11:12

Hello you lovelies. I am on day 3 of the 1:1 diet--I am doing 1a, I have 6 stone to lose. My problem is that I am really struggling with the products! Of the 6 I've had so far, 3 I could barely eat and 3 I kind of tolerated if I didn't think about them while I was eating. 😭 They all seem to have the same chemically background taste. Anyone else found this?

QueenietheCutie · 27/11/2019 11:32

I agree about the background taste to them. I have found that with the meals the more spicy ones are best (weirdly as I don't really like spicy foods but these really aren't hot spicy if you know what I mean!)
I'm on week 4 and it's taken me till now to settle into routine of just choosing the ones I like.
You can also add things like herbs and/or spices to the meals and I add a shot of espresso to the coffee shake for example. Makes them a bit more palatable!
Keep going, it does become easier as your body and taste buds get more used to them - I promise!

Jojabega · 27/11/2019 13:18

Thank you! I'm hoping I will settle into it. I didn't expect to have a problem, I'm the unfussiest person when it comes to food. There's nothing I really don't like (hence the 6 stone to lose😂😂😂)
I'll persevere but the cranberry bar I just ate tasted like Calpol!
Thai noodles I had to bin, the rest I've managed to get down. The strawberry shake was the best so far, I'll try the other shakes over the next few days. I'm not giving up, that's for sure. I'd just rather enjoy the little I'm eating!
What have your losses been like so far, Queenie?

QueenietheCutie · 27/11/2019 13:58

I found the bars the worst for that weird taste. Currently I can only cope with the apple and strawberry one!
I lost 8.5lbs in first week, 3lbs in second and 5lbs in the 3rd which is what is motivating me to keep going!
I am struggling with the prospect of doing this over Christmas as I do love Christmas dinner!!!

Jojabega · 27/11/2019 21:22

I'm going to chat to my consultant about it, but I feel that if I plan ahead exactly what I'm going to have l, and stick to it, I won't have lost control. Pretty sure I can have a Christmas dinner for 600cals. Then straight back onto plan on boxing day.

Sam3boys · 27/11/2019 23:51

Hiya. I’m not keen on the bars either. And it also took me a couple of weeks to find the products I like. I now keep to the same few things. I normally have a porridge for breakfast, smoothie for lunch and my 200kal meal for diner, followed by salted caramel bites for snack.
For Christmas my consultant said she puts you up to step 3 as it’s a bit more flexible. However on Christmas Day and Boxing Day I don’t think I’ll be able to stick to any steps 😂. But I’m normally bad for the whole of December, so if I can contain it to just 2 days out of 31 then I’ll feel like I’ve won this year 😂.

Jojabega · 28/11/2019 07:18

See, New Year will be more of an issue for me, I think! I'm in Scotland so maybe it's more of a thing up here, I'm not sure, but it's a really sociable time. Realistically, it's 3 days of visiting friends /relatives (first - footing) where you bring a bottle with you. You offer everyone you're visiting a dram, and you have some of theirs. If you don't drink, it's food you are offered. It's 3 days of explaining why you're turning down someone's hospitality. I will have a drink on Hogmanay to bring the bells in, but it will be back to water after that. I'm not quite sure how to handle the rest!

Jojoe16 · 28/11/2019 15:07

I know now that Christmas day and new years will be a no go with me for strict dieting, but il be sticking to it where I can christmas day and new years day, making better choices on those days, but I fear Christmas time will be near on impossible for most to be perfectly good dieting, especially when family and friends are merrying the days away with nice food and wine... 😣 my goal is to do the best I can on Christmas day dont go mad and get back on it ASAP that way I wont kill myself stressing about wanting an extra sprout 😜

Jojoe16 · 28/11/2019 15:11

Not helpful advise, for anyone I know, but just my way of planing to get through it and enjoy Christmas with my little one and the rest of the family.

Jojoe16 · 28/11/2019 20:12

First weigh this evening and I'm 7.5lb down, 🙂I had to get back on to double check I wasnt seeing things, definitely given me the motivation to carry on. Iv stocked up on caramel bites for my evening treat. Someone told me that the yogart covered lemon bars were nice, but I didnt take to them they had a funny taste, but I'm pleased to see others on here dont really like the bars either, I thought it was me expecting to much of a yummy treat from them

Jojabega · 30/11/2019 10:38

7.5lbs, well done!
I had a total test last night. My pals and I meet every few months at someone's house for an evening of takeaway and wine. I didn't want to miss out on the fun, so I went along with my sachet of oriental chilli soup and 2litre bottle of fizzy water. I managed! They didn't give me too hard of a time either, I was expecting more arm twisting to be happening.
Proud of myself.

QueenietheCutie · 30/11/2019 11:12

Well done Jojabega! It's so hard isn't it?
We have friends staying for the weekend and my OH seems to have forgotten his promise to do the cooking! I cooked for them all last night and then ate my bowl of "gloop" whilst they tucked in to dinner... it was my toughest test, i struggled but coped.
We should all feel proud of ourselves!! Happy and successful weekend all :-)

Jojoe16 · 08/12/2019 17:38

Hey there ladies, hope everyone has been doing well, i have lost another 4lb finally found a diet that actually works and shows results on the scales which is what I need

QueenietheCutie · 08/12/2019 18:49

Well done Jojoe16! Its amazing isn't it? I hit a stone and a half lost this week and my clothes are really starting to feel too big which such a motivation for me :-)
I also have a super surge of energy which is great!
Its amazing to have found something that actually works.

All the best for this week everyone!

Jojoe16 · 11/12/2019 03:07

Aw that's amazing queenie, you must feel good now your clothes are feeling loose, cant wait to get to that stage l, although I seem to have more energy now which I didnt expect seeing as how low the calorie intake is, and im actually begining to enjoy it now Smile

Lou2020 · 31/12/2019 12:01

Hi everyone.. I've signed up to start tomorrow. What would you all recommend as far as soups, porridge, bars and shakes.

Poppyfields84 · 01/01/2020 11:04

Happy New Year Everyone, I start my journey tomorrow, the plan is to loose 2 stone (2 1/2 if all goes well) I am very nervous about failing, I have read through the blog to pick up on some tips, so thank you all! Good luck today @Lou2020 you'll have to share what soups, porridge, bars and shakes you like when you get into it.

QueenietheCutie · 01/01/2020 12:46

Hi all, very pleased to check in and say I hit 2 stones lost just before Christmas (took 7 weeks) and I even lost 2lbs during Christmas week when I effectively followed step 2 for a few days.
Good luck to those starting out, it's pretty intense but well worth it. I have been doing some sales shopping in a clothes size smaller - couldn't really believe it till I tried them on!
I find the vegetable and the oriental chilli the nicest soups (don't be put off by the name, the chilli one really isn't spicy or hot)
And I really enjoy the strawberry and cherry smoothie, especially if mixed up into a mousse. But I didn't enjoy the porridge, texture isn't right for me. I would recommend you try most products at first and then narrow down to your faves.
All the very best!!

Jojoe16 · 01/01/2020 17:03

Hi all, and well done Queenie, I fell off the wagon over chriatmas but not too much, although I had planned to as I knew there would be lots of get togethers and the down fall of that with dieters is all the goodies.. anyway that's now out of the way and back on it today, I also like the veg soup and I like the thai noodles, love the breakfast smoothies which I would probably have even not on the 1-1 but like Queenie says you have to try them all and see what you prefer . The chocolate bites have been good to curb my chocolate craving too... good luck everyone keep us updated on your progress

Jojoe16 · 09/01/2020 21:51

Hi ladies how is everyone doing on the 1-1, I have been to my consultant today and got some flava bean nibbles to try ,the sour cream ones were really tasty so they will be a regular on my list now Smile
