@Sam3boys one of my goals is to be able to go out running, I love the thought of it and gutted I just don't have the confidence to it! I know it shouldn't matter that I am overweight, I should just go for it but I can't 😐 one day...!

Sam3boys · 28/09/2019 11:25

Join a running club. I would never have done it on my own. Find one that has a beginners course, which I did. There were all sorts starting, big and little, young and old. One lady was 70!! You’re all in the same boat. Struggling together! And running with others Spurs you on a little. I was thinking I can’t stop yet, the old lady’s still going 😂😂. Don’t dismiss it!! I was nervous about starting and put it off for ages. Then once I got there regretted not starting sooner!
I went out last night. A girlie night in, where we all brought different foods to create a buffet. I didn’t have the wine. And I didn’t have any of the breads. Stuck to the cold meats and salad!! All my friends were shocked at my willpower 😂😂

I’ve got my consultation tomorrow and hoping to get started Friday-I’m hoping this will seem less daunting than starting on a Monday.Got around 8 stone to lose but I am so determined-got my motivation!!!

Sam3boys · 02/10/2019 14:23

Good luck with it. Keep us updated 😊

Randomsunshineovermull · 08/10/2019 07:15

Hi, I’ve a consultation this morning, though this thread may have put me off! Doesn’t look like anyone’s managed long term, or put the weight back on, also not good if the food tastes bad! I can’t life on sweet shakes and bars I need savoury!

Liya1 · 09/10/2019 06:08

Hi
I started the Cambridge diet on Monday on 1a hoping to stick to it. Need to lose about 25 to 28kg by April (4 to 4 and a half stones). Would be great to have some company along the way. The sole source is very hard. I like home cooked food and I am really struggling with their foods, they all have strange vitamin like taste. The only one I enjoy having is the banana and strawberry oat smoothie. I am wondering if going on to step 2 after 2 weeks will keep me losing enough weight as I think looking forward to own small meal will keep me more motivated to stay on diet than just SS.
Some great losses above but also a bit disheartened to read some people put it all back on. I am hoping that is not due to leaving diet? I want to incorporate exercise after 2 weeks to build healthy habits.
Anyone else still on diet?

Winecheesesleep · 09/10/2019 07:24

I just started yesterday! I'm on step 2, it's only 800 calories so surely you'd still get a good weight loss if you switched to that.

Sam3boys · 10/10/2019 11:34

Hi. I started on step 2 on 5th September. Lost 1 stone in 4 weeks. Week 5 weigh in tomorrow. Lots of people start on week 2 for various reasons, and still lose weight. So I think if you’re struggling on step 1, then ask to move up.
I don’t know if it’s different products on step 2 to step 1?? I’ve tried most of them now, and am now sticking to just the few I like. I like the porridge’s for breakfast, a smoothie for lunch, my 200 cal meal for dinner, and then a bar for evening snack. I don’t mind their spag bol, so I keep a couple of those here for when I want something hot, or savoury. The soups aren’t too bad either.
As to sticking to it, I am now starting to miss a proper dinner. That’s hard when I’m cooking nice things for my family. But what I’d making me stick to it so far, is knowing that appointment is booked in with my consultant!! My aim is to lose about 2.5 stone. 1 stone if that has gone already. You’ve got to give it a good go. You might surprise yourselves x

Liya1 · 10/10/2019 17:55

Nice to see other people are doing it too.
I know it is bad but I had a slice of domino's pizza! Now I am kicking myself, I am so upset with myself! Will this affect my weight loss a lot? So far I had a Cambridge smoothie and 1 slice of pizza.... should I miss out my afternoon Cambridge food and only have my last one at night? Please advise.

Sam3boys · 11/10/2019 07:52

Morning. Sorry I didn’t see your message last night. It the bread on the pizza thats not good as it’s carbs. We’re meant to be having no carbs. I don’t know how much it will effect your weight loss. But don’t give up on it because of that one piece. Keep going today and the rest of your week. If I’ve had a naughty moment, I’ve tried to have a non carb cheat! Keep going. I see that you’re still eating less than you were before you started, so fingers crossed 🤞. Just be really good from now on x

Liya1 · 11/10/2019 13:20

Thankyou Sam3boys for your reply. It is nice to have a bit of motivation from here as when around family, they are all having tasty foods and it is hard to have my little meal or smoothie packets! x

Sam3boys · 12/10/2019 19:11

It’s really hard when people around you are eating nice things. I always say it would be so much easier if I lived on my own and had no social life 😂.

Liya1 · 12/10/2019 19:24

Lol...yes true.
I find it hardest at my mum's with all the lovely home cooked food.

Sam3boys · 12/10/2019 19:34

Yep mum’s are the worst!! I’m scared to go and see mine 😂😂

outherealone · 15/11/2019 05:06

Can you do Cambridge Diet Weight Plan by yourself without a consultant? How does it work?

Sam3boys · 15/11/2019 09:19

I don’t think you can. I’m pretty sure you can only get the products from a consultant.

outherealone · 15/11/2019 19:10

Thank you @Sam3boys

Jojabega · 18/11/2019 21:03

Hello, how are you guys getting on with the 1:1? I'm going for my first consultation on Wednesday.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 18/11/2019 21:14

Hope you all get on great! I lost 6 stone last year on step 1B. Meant I was able to fall pregnant. Good luck!

QueenietheCutie · 18/11/2019 22:21

I started on 1b two weeks ago, have lost total of 11.5lbs so far. Very happy with that! I see my consultant on a Monday evening which starts my week on a positive. Really hoping I can keep this up as it seems to fit into my life well and I've had no real issues so far...

Jojabega · 19/11/2019 18:38

Great to hear it's been successful for you, smartcar. And you're doing great, Queenie! I hope I get on with it okay, I'm a wee bit nervous.

Jojoe16 · 21/11/2019 20:10

Hi
It's only first day on 1-1 today and I dont want to fall off the wagon now I'm on it so good to find a group on here for advice and support, had a battle with myself to stay out of the chocolate box though, but I hope that gets easier I love my chocolate snacks

Sam3boys · 21/11/2019 22:10

Hiya. Good luck with it all.
Yes I think that will get easier for you. It did me. I found my cravings really disappeared. I still have the odd moments of course. I Have the salted caramel bites in the evenings now for my chocolate cravings.

Jojoe16 · 22/11/2019 13:51

Thanks Sam3boys, good tip using the salted caramel bites in the evening, I shall try that. I woke up today suprisingly not feeling hungry, I though I'd be starving... but noop not at all, I didnt have anything until 12noon other than water with the 1-1 watermelon flavouring in which I have to say I really like . I had the spag bol, not fine dining but was okay... so I'm sef for another sucessful day I hope.... I have 4 stone to loose 😒 never lost my baby weight and im 3 years post pregnancy now so cant give myself any more excuses

QueenietheCutie · 22/11/2019 14:28

I have my first real test tonight... family birthday gathering with Chinese takeaway! I plan to take a pack of Thai noodles to have when the others have chinese plus the caramel bites for when they have cake and a large bottle of fizzy water instead of wine!
Sounds so simple when written down!
Wish me luck...
