Half a stone off in Feb

Smarshian · 04/02/2019 08:12

So I started a half stone thread in Jan and managed to lose 4lb as I lost motivation half way through. Still feeling positive though and want to achieve the full 7lb this month.
Any diet/exercise routine welcome and tips and tricks encouraged. I will be continuing with slimming world (loosely) and I’m training for a 10k next month so regular runs.

I would like to lose my last half stone of baby weight so I'm in. Currently looking for tips to stop me grazing in the evening after dinner...

Smarshian · 05/02/2019 13:08

Right I’ve weighed in today at 10st 5lb. Want to be around 9st 10lb as a maximum. I’ll reassess when I get to that point.
I’ve had a slice of toast, and apple for breakfast. Having chilli for lunch. Chicken salad for dinner.
I’m also a sucker for treats after dinner! Working tonight though so less likely to graze.

I got 10lbs down in Jan. gained back a pound last week Blush

Trying to get back on track and hoping for another half a stone down this month. Going to try 5:2 and be stricter with treats!! My work makes lunches and they are delicious and always a tempting dessert so may just need to avoid and bring my own for a bit.

magpie24 · 05/02/2019 15:27

@smarshian similar goals to me although my target may end up a bit higher as I'm quite tall. How tall are you?

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 05/02/2019 15:59

I just want to see a number 10 on the scale. Even though I didn’t cheat at all last week I didn’t lose any weight which was annoying. But I’m 11stone 2. Just want to see that number 10.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 06/02/2019 05:26

I’ll join in - I would like to go from current 139lbs to 132lbs, am calorie counting and trying to stick to 1000kcals weekdays but not counting at the weekends, no drinking alcohol and no evening snacking

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 06/02/2019 05:27

I’m 5’9”

Decormad38 · 06/02/2019 05:31

Stop eating sugar. The weight falls away. Its hard at first but then you don’t want to eat it.

Pinkiii · 06/02/2019 08:09

Joining this, i managed to lose half a stone in jan, then gained it back Confused

Current weight: 10.13lbs
Goal weight: ideally would like to be back to 8.5 stone but will be happy just to see the 9 mark right now.

I’m going to stick Calorie counting. On 1200 a day, managed to stick to it for last 3 days so here’s hoping i can stay on it this time.

JenniferJareau · 06/02/2019 08:11

I'm cutting down on drinking alcohol during the week to help me.

I also take my lunches to work as it stops me being tempted Blush

Smarshian · 06/02/2019 08:28

I’m 5’4” so don’t have anywhere to hide the extra weight! I’m hoping to get to 9st10 by March 14th as I’ve got a day at the races then and also my goddaughters christening that week so want to buy a nice outfit to wear to both.
Yesterday was reasonably good (although I did sneak a bag of the kids quavers, but only 90 cals or so).

@Decormad38 that only works if you’re someone who eats a lot of sugar in the first place - apart from fruit I rarely have sugar as it is

bluechameleon · 06/02/2019 16:36

magpie I make myself a small bowl of snacks for the evening and don't refill it. I usually put in some nuts, some fruit e.g. blueberries and a few squares of dark chocolate.

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 07/02/2019 08:25

Lost four pounds this week. Yes!!!! Didn’t lose last week so think that has something to do with it. But. I’m finally at a number 10 on the scales. 13 pounds till I have hit my first goal weight.

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 07/02/2019 08:31

Yes!! Managed to lose 10lbs in January and would love another 5-10 in February 👍🏻👍🏻 On holiday for two weeks though so it's going to be tough 🙈

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 07/02/2019 15:54

Well done @Dontgiveamonkeys1350

I went into binge mode last night and DH stopped me eating a massive cookie thatvwould have been 500kcals!

SingaporeSlinky · 07/02/2019 21:46

Yes I’m in!
Very similar to you Smarshian I’m 5’4” and currently at 10st 4. Have lost 6lbs since second week of Jan, would love to get down below 10st and then set a new target. Started tracking everything on MyFitnessPal last week, finding it so useful as it’s opening my eyes to how many calories I’d been having with things like coffee. I’ve now switched from milky, sugary coffees to plain green teas, which are only 2 cals.
I’ve had to go cold turkey on snacks as I’m not someone that can just have a bite of chocolate, I’d have to finish the whole block.
Doesn’t help that with this morning’s Tesco delivery there was a free gift from Tesco for Valentine’s Day with a big tub of strawberry Onken and a block of chocolate!

Smarshian · 08/02/2019 07:18

Oh I love chocolate! It’s my vice! Started my day with a slice of toast, an apple and a fat free yogurt. Got soft play date today so I need to avoid the cakes and biscuits there. Plan to have soup for lunch, homemade fish pie with veg for dinner. I might buy some dark chocolate for the weekend - I find it easier just to have a small amount of that. Got a training run with my running buddy tonight (5k).

Feeling a bit deflated today as scales showing 2 pounds up. I’m hoping it’s just water weight or something as I’ve been quite good. I did have cottage pie for dinner last night and realised that mince has tons of calories, but it shouldn’t have made much difference. I had fruit and fibre with skimmed milk this morning and a green tea. Need to get some exercise done today.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 08/02/2019 15:22

Am not managing any exercise at the moment either and I’m struggling not to snack in the evenings - wolfed down 10 rich tea biscuits after I’d got into bed!!

SingaporeSlinky · 08/02/2019 16:11

IJumpedAboard oh wow, 10 biscuits! Did you work out how many calories that was, or just starting fresh today?

I managed a 25 minute exercise dvd this morning and got my period, so I’m hoping that’s why I’d gained 2 pounds this morning. I have been craving snacks today so finally gave in and had some hula hoops and a small flapjack. Will try and have a tiny dinner to make up for it.

I used to be terrible for snacking on chocolate all evening, so now I’ve just stopped buying them so don’t have much in the house. Dh did add some choccie biccies to the weekly shop but I’m resisting those for now. I do find I just can’t have stuff in front of me. If he sits there munching away on minstrels or something I will give in, so after dinner I just have green tea and squash on the table. And if I get a craving I have some sugar free gum, so I’m getting the sweet taste without the calories.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 08/02/2019 17:33

340!!!! Argh

SingaporeSlinky · 08/02/2019 19:10

Oh, that’s less than I thought it would be actually. How’s your willpower today?

Peanut91 · 08/02/2019 20:26

Can I join? I am currently trying to lose 38lbs...most of which is baby weight.

I have managed to lose 13lbs since the start of January which I am over the moon about. Just cut out all the sugar and junk food I was eating and watching my portion sizes.

I would like to lose another 11lbs by the time I go on holiday at the end of March which would mean I would only have another stone to loose to hit my goal weight.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 09/02/2019 04:08

I’m 8 hours behind you all so it’s only 8pm but am having a v high protein dinner inthe hope it fills me up enough to not want to stuffmy face with more biscuits tonight!

How is everyone else doing?
