Half a stone off in Feb

Smarshian · 04/02/2019 08:12

So I started a half stone thread in Jan and managed to lose 4lb as I lost motivation half way through. Still feeling positive though and want to achieve the full 7lb this month.
Any diet/exercise routine welcome and tips and tricks encouraged. I will be continuing with slimming world (loosely) and I’m training for a 10k next month so regular runs.

Oh no! You can totally resist!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 14/02/2019 13:25

Argh. Small cinnamon roll 107 calories 🙈

Will need to adjust for that.

Damn friendly work folk 😋

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 14/02/2019 15:52

That’s not too awful considering how much damage those treats can do! Although I know if I give in to one then that’s it and I can’t stop eating more

Started my cheat day with a banana, almond butter, coffee and date smoothie, made a salad for lunch with a whole avocado and quinoa and a lemon tahini dressing and soooooo looking forward to my 3 course meal and wine tonight!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 14/02/2019 17:37

That sounds amazing!

SingaporeSlinky · 14/02/2019 20:15

I’ve had a really calorific day too. No excuse for me really, just really had no willpower today so I really went for it. Crisps, chocolate, more chocolate and a pizza and pudding for dinner. Oops.
Back on it tomorrow and will go for a run.

TheInvestigator · 15/02/2019 08:19

Aaaaah! My face has so many spots! I don't get many spots, so this is just not normal for me. Is this a weight loss thing? I googled it and some things it can be the toxins coming out when fat is used up, but other things say it is a side effect of rapid weight loss and other health issues. Does anyone else get this?

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 15/02/2019 15:33

Afraid not @TheInvestigator!!

How you enjoyed your calorific day @SingaporeSlinky

Had an amazing dinner, I eat plant based about 95% of the time but still haven’t made the total leap because I love fish even though I eat it so rarely now - but last night I indulged in oysters, sea bass with roasted vegetables in the most amazing sauce, berries marinated in merlot with a red wine and blueberry sorbet, all washed down with pink champagne and an Oregon Pinot Noir....so so worth it!

Back to normal today

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 15/02/2019 18:49

@DietFailure

Not tried tagging before. But come join us if you see this.

Half a stone in Feb (aim for a quarter as we are half way through)

Dietfailure · 15/02/2019 18:51

Hello

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 15/02/2019 18:55

Welcome!

I have no self control either. Unless I'm logging everything in.

Some days I just over eat because - why not 😳

My goal is to to 9st anything

I am currently 12 stone

So at least 2 stone 1lb to go!

Dietfailure · 15/02/2019 20:03

I'm 14 stone 5 lbs Blush

Smarshian · 15/02/2019 21:23

So I haven’t logged in for a few days. Lost 0.5 pound at weigh in which was disappointing. Then had a birthday at work with pizza and then valentines 3 course meal 🙊. Anyway today has been good, I’ve eaten well and been for a 3 mile run (pb too!). Hoping I can be good over the weekend and bring it back in.

TickVG · 15/02/2019 22:06

Hi - can I join you too please? Had a baby in December and had put on soooooo much weight. Have made some inroads but have 1 more stone to go. willpower is starting to fade and obviously the closer I get to target the harder it is! Logging absolutely everything with MFP and exercising but I just keep fantasising about junk food binges! Grin daily target is usually 1400 but have crept up to 1550 today through millions of tiny snacks!

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 16/02/2019 16:49

Welcome and congrats TickVG I know it feels weird to kind of have your body back but not, are you breastfeeding?

Well done on your on Smarshian and that negates a bit of the pizza and valentines damage!

Meal planning for the week ahead and trying what I did last week of actually cooking lots of the meals in advance so I just have one boring day of adding up calories and working them out so I don’t have to do it all week!

SingaporeSlinky · 16/02/2019 16:58

Struggling at the moment still. I am finding that going cold turkey on the snacks is the only thing that works for me. DH brought home some M&S shortbread, but instead of having one piece, I had 3. That’s where I have no willpower, once I get the taste, I can’t stop.
I was hoping to have a better weekend than the last few days so did try and make up for it by going for a run. Only managed 1km so I then did 20 mins of an exercise dvd too. Will still be under my 1200 as I basically skipped lunch.
Back up to 10st 3 so I need to have a good week.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 16/02/2019 17:46

Waaaaaaaa I haven’t lost even half a lb!!!!

SingaporeSlinky · 16/02/2019 17:57

Oh no IJumped!
Sounds like we all need to have a strong week ahead! I’ve just logged my dinner (quite a naughty quiche and curly fries) but only small portions and I’m done for the day. And way under 1200 today.
Tomorrow I plan on having my spinach, avocado and banana smoothie, and then saving my cals for Sunday roast.

TickVG · 16/02/2019 19:56

Thanks ijumped - yep I am breastfeeding, so allowing myself a bit more than MFP recommends....though realised recently I should probably be focusing this extra on calcium rich foods rather than biscuits....BlushWas at 10st 9 this morning and ultimately hoping to flip reverse that around to 9st 10 but next mini milestone for end feb is 10st 6 when I'll be officially into healthy BMI range. Just got to try with all my might to resist all the half term treats this next week!

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 16/02/2019 22:40

I was 800kcal every day except Thursday this week!

TheInvestigator · 17/02/2019 08:46

@TickVG

Yay for the new baby!!!! A few extra biscuits are definitely allowed when you're looking after a tiny one!

Well done everyone sticking to their calorie limit. I had 2 bad days this week were my calories where either the same as or a little more than calories burned. So I've only lost 2lbs instead of my goal of 3.5!!

Will be better this week as that's me used up all the rubbish food in the cupboard!

TickVG · 17/02/2019 09:29

Thanks @TheInvestigator . My problem is of course it's tough just to stick to a few biscuits, and I can get a bit obsessed with food and the next eating opportunity when I'm logging food. Very inspired though by how everyone is sticking to their calories here though- I need to harness all this willpower Smile. Am also trying to avoid artificially sweet things which seem to kick off my hunger pangs. This next few days will be really tough as I'm staying with my parents. I've bought my food scales though and need to get cooking some meals in order to impose a bit of control on this situation!

SingaporeSlinky · 17/02/2019 16:46

What are the foods you’ve been surprised by in terms of calories once you’ve logged them on MFP? I planned on skipping lunch today as we’re having a roast dinner but made myself a little plate. Had loads of cucumber with some hummous, some olives and some cheese. Only one slice of cheddar, but once I logged it, I realised how calorific cheese is. Trying to log the roast too, hard to know which gravy to choose from the list, but again, quite a lot of calories as I like mine swimming in it! Will have to try and rein that in.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 17/02/2019 19:37

Evening all! Struggling to eat enough today 😂

Got me a new car 😍😁

Fab weekend. Feel happy tonight

TickVG · 17/02/2019 20:26

Yeah absolutely agree cheese is sooo high in calorie. I used to periodically go on low carb diets so am so used to stuffing my face with it. I now just use it more as an ingredient/topping to a meal as if you finely grate 30g it goes a long way. If you have a 30g piece as a snack it just looks small and sad! The other thing that I don't feel is worth the calories is bananas- the numbers that MFP allocates to them seem rather varied. So I figure I can't trust them!

SingaporeSlinky · 17/02/2019 21:21

Glad you’re having a good weekend Funky

Tick I don’t usually eat much cheese, but when I did have it, I would have had about 3 or 4 slices easily with a lunch, or in a sandwich. Now I don’t think it’s worth the calories! I am struggling to think of sandwich fillings though as I’m trying not to eat processed meats like ham.

I know what you mean about bananas, it’s the same with avocado. I’ve been having smoothies with both, plus spinach, honey and lime but it’s a lot of calories, even though it’s quite healthy. Some days I do have a banana and tea for breakfast though. I find cereals high too. I thought I was being good by having fruit and fibre cereal but they’ve got a lot of sugar in actually.
