Anyone starting a new diet tomorrow? Want to be diet buddies? Im 14st7lb my heaviest ever at 5ft4. Need some motivation and willpower. Going to be doing meal substitution with shakes twice a day to kickstart my diet. Was meant to start early in January but it didn’t happen and I’ve slipped. Will be doing My Fitness Pal too.

That's a brilliant joke @YouBoggle - properly made me laugh out loud. I have eaten a tiny piece of birthday cake from DD1's b/d sister's lunch. All 5 DD's went for lunch together whilst we looked after DGC's. Was chaos! So, about 200 calories I believe. I am having chicken salad for dinner and NOTHING else whatsoever. I am definitely back on this - weight creeping upwards day by day has got to stop. 13st 5 lbs this morning so 2.5lbs on from my lowest weight of 13st 2.5lbs on 3rd April. So cross with myself and determined not to let this beat me so I'm being VERY strict and NO excuses.

In order to be more honest with myself I tracked my fluctuations Angry so annoying to see myself go right back to where I started!!

However 3lb has come off in the last week or so, and I'm hoping even more will due to the fact I can't eat and I'm on a mostly liquid diet Grin with exam season coming up I'll have to be careful to not binge in an attempt to make myself less stressed because it only adds to the madness!

Morning Tinsel, sorry you're still not well. Hope you're going to get yourself to the docs asap as it sounds as though you might need antibiotics. I am trying a new approach which amounts to eating once a day. One meal in the evening and that's it! I'm trying this for a week to see what happens with that - desperate measure I know but we'll see. I know all the theories about crash diets and all that but I'm still going to give this a go. Hope everyone's O.K. Beautiful sunny day here and off to see DD1 later as it's her birthday.

@YouBoggle that's not so bad - I know it doesn't help you but if it's any consolation I'd love to be 12st 6lbs! Don't forget you've been working on the alcohol and that's a great achievement indeed. Weight can be next.

Boggle that's not so bad!! I echo reckless when I say I'd love to be that Grin---- it's all relative though so I do understand it but try not to be hard on yourself. Your mindset has changed a lot and that's the most important thing!

Well girls that's 2 days down with the one meal thing. I've asked DH not to offer me anything at all except cups of tea from now on , there is usually a daily dialogue of "would you likes" to go with the cups of tea.Bless him.
I have explained to him that I will only be eating ONCE at dinner time for the next week as I am experimenting with how to get the best weight loss. I think he gets it although he definitely doesn't understand how hard it all is. Will keep you posted.

Hi all, well my weekend wasnt too bad food wise.
Went out for a meal sat night with some mates but we went to Wagamama so not too unhealthy, and I didnt have any dessert :) Found myself getting my snack on yesterday afternoon but I think I reeled it in before it got too bad! Just some cheese, olives and a freddo! And in my defence I had run 5km that morning.
So feeling hopeful that I will have lost at least a couple of lbs in the past week.
Tinsel that is a great idea tracking yourself, I think I'm gonna do this too

I listened to James Smith podcast on weight loss for women, he said that when he was a PT rather than tracking and comparing a woman's weight week-by-week, he'd instead track it across 4 weeks in a month.

So week 1-4, then compare the following 4 weeks with the previous months corresponding week e.g. May week 1 would be compared to April week 1, May week 2 compared to April week 2 etc.

He said the reason behind this was because as women go through their menstrual cycle, hormones vary depending on the stage, so it made little sense to compare weight on a weekly basis as often it wasn't about weight loss or gain, but just what part of the cycle a woman was on

He explained it better than me, but it was very interesting to listen to. It made a lot of sense too

That sounds like an interesting theory @Optimistic but I don't even know if I've got any hormones left! [62, feel fat and unfit] I'm going on with this one meal a day plan - I'm not finding it too difficult so far. I am interested to see if there is any difference on the scales seeing as I seem to have been a bit stuck over the last few weeks. Trying to keep my enthusiasm for losing weight by varying my method I guess. Hope you're all O.K. and doing the best you can.

That sounds a lovely weekend Emily. @optimisticpessimist01 that's so interesting! I'll have to give it a look over. I don't get periods cos of the mini pill but I bet the hormones have some effect I can place blame on Grin

Keep going reckless you are smashing it! We will see tomorrow Smile I only had one meal yesterday which was a McDonald's wrap - no chips though! Hoping for another small loss tomorrow

Hi all, on day 4 of one meal a day and carrying on. I'm interested to see what the scales say tomorrow as well @Tinsel although I only started this on Saturday so will only have completed 4 days. Just for this week I will also weigh on Saturday first thing so we have a true reading for a weeks worth of the one meal a day routine. It does seem to work for a lot of people and obviously as I'm not very physically active I'm not feeling weak or shaky or anything. Then again, I'm carrying plenty of supplies about my person!! Ha! Ha!

Lazy day for me today - might go to the gym later but really not motivated. Throat is healed tho!

Well we have been split up since February officially but couldn't cancel the holiday Blush he is so lovely and kind and special but I'm just so down at the moment I don't know if it's me or the relationship! He is so nice to me though I couldn't ask for better. His mother on the other hand is a cow Grin
