Anyone starting a new diet tomorrow? Want to be diet buddies? Im 14st7lb my heaviest ever at 5ft4. Need some motivation and willpower. Going to be doing meal substitution with shakes twice a day to kickstart my diet. Was meant to start early in January but it didn’t happen and I’ve slipped. Will be doing My Fitness Pal too.

Some days are great, some are crap! How about you? I've lost all my willpower SadGrin I bought a crappy £25 fitness tracker yesterday that's motivated me a bit so far and vibrates whenever I'm being a lazy sod, so hoping it motivates me even more!

Yes, @Tinsel that is exactly right. I have gained 2 pounds even though it isn't weigh day. It's a fresh start for me - so I'm pretending this is the first day and my start weight is 13 st 9.5 lbs.I will avoid carbs at all costs today. It is a lovely sunny day here so I'm going to distract myself with some Spring Cleaning in between work.

Good morning. I have gained a pound since last Wednesday's weigh in. Considering the amount of bread/biscuits I've eaten I think I've got off lightly!
So today's weigh in 13 st 8.75 lbs. I now weigh more than I did 3 weeks ago so I'm taking a fresh start and a fresh look at what I'm doing.
I am determined to crack this and know that a half hearted effort isn't going to work. Need to properly focus.
How are you doing @Tinsel and @you boggle - it looks as though it is just us 3 left here?

Good morning. I have realised that me trying not to eat carbs is what is causing the problem as I love them so much. So, I am changing tack and swapping over to calorie counting so that I can eat what I like as long as it's within the 800 calories I am allowing myself. [I know this is low but bear in mind the fact that I'm relatively old and inactive!]
I will use most of the calories for a decent evening meal and some for a small snack at lunchtime and see how that goes. Otherwise it will be numerous cups of tea for me.

Good morning! My starting again weight is 14st exactly. I'm just so massive at the minute the biggest I've ever been!

Oh no reckless 800 is far too low Sad at least bump it up to 1000 so we aren't all worried about you?! Grin I am also a prolific tea drinker to try and avoid eating.

Ha! Ha! @Tinsel, don't worry I'm hardly fading away. It's apparently safe to do 800 calories as long as you don't eat junk. [according to Dr.Michael Moseley] I won't be low carbing any more though as I just can't stick to it.
I am now planning what I'm going to eat each day.
So, today lunch was 2 slices Warburtons small wholemeal bread toasted with laughing cow light and marmite. [135 cals]
I have watermelon to snack on this afternoon [30 cals]
M&S roasted vegetable lasagne [420 cals] plus salad [30 cals] coleslaw and potato salad [120cals]
Total 735 cals - the odd bit should cover the tiny bit of milk I have in my numerous cups of builders tea!
Looks O.K. to me.
DGC's here tonight for pizza and chips, jelly and viennetta as requested by them. Should be fine as I don't actually like pizza. Will need to be firm with myself about the chips though as I love them [homemade the old fashioned way in a chip pan!]

I could never ever cut carbs Grin love them too much which is why I'm so round!

Have stuck rigidly to plan for today as outlined earlier.
[I did pinch one chip though when I was dishing up for the DGC's.]
Feeling fine so far. About to make plan for tomorrow. I am out for lunch with GF as is usual on a Friday so am likely to exceed 800 calories tomorrow unless I can find a VLC lunch - unlikely indeed given that we will be in the pub....oh well gotta have a life as they say. Will go for damage limitation exercise I think.
@Tinsel and @Youboggle how are you getting on?

Well done @Tinsel and @Youboggle even if it's just us 3 we can do this and support each other in our quest.Definitely in!
I was 13st 7lbs this morning so very pleased with that -1.75lbs since Wednesday. Clearly my 800 calories is working so planning to try to stick with that for the time being. Bacon and egg sandwich and JD & coke in pub at lunch time works out at about 550 calories apparently. Don't think I'm going to get dinner for the remaining 250 cals so going with chicken salad which will be about 400 I think.
Not going to beat myself up over that. As we said before we're in it for the long game and have to keep trying.
