Anyone starting a new diet tomorrow? Want to be diet buddies? Im 14st7lb my heaviest ever at 5ft4. Need some motivation and willpower. Going to be doing meal substitution with shakes twice a day to kickstart my diet. Was meant to start early in January but it didn’t happen and I’ve slipped. Will be doing My Fitness Pal too.

I'm sorry Bacardi, that's really sad. We're here if you need to talk it through.

I find I just have to have no bad stuff to eat in the house to resist. I'm in charge of the food shop though 🤦🏻‍♀️

DizzyBeeme · 13/02/2019 20:57

Aaargggh...I've.done so.well in.my first week on.tge.sbrisge diet then caved in and had a burger and chips 🤦🏽‍♀️ I'm having nightmare I will have lost nothing at weigh in on Saturday x

TinselAndKnickers · 13/02/2019 22:58

Well done everyone! Nobody is going hugely in the other way so we are doing something right Smile

So sorry Bacardi we are all here for a moan when you need oneThanks

No weigh in for me today, I'll do it tomorrow - had a pre valentines meal steak and chips with profiteroles as I am working tomorrow evening and DP is soppy Grin

MrsMummyBx · 14/02/2019 07:48

reckless thanks yes I think I might try the reduced eating window tactic as being able to eat for a whole day so so tempting. Your weekend away sounds amazing!!

Went out to a burger restaurant last night with a mate and had a huge amount of cheesy nachos....NOT diet food for sure...

tinsel thanks for the reminder about v day I had completely forgotten. Would be happy to have left it that way but DH will probably take great offence so I will have to cobble together some sort of dinner for him

Weigh in - I have lost 2lb!!! Yay Grin

Mmmm cheesy nachos sound good MummyB! I also use a window of eating on days that I can, which is most of the time tbh. I normally do 12-8 or 1-7 depending on how strong I'm feeling Grin and I do drink a large glass of squash or eat an apple to get my metabolism going.

Enjoy your meal - what will you have?

recklessgran · 14/02/2019 08:46

Good morning all. Yesterday was O.K. 2 scrambled eggs for lunch and chicken salad for dinner. One digestive biscuit after dinner was a bit naughty. Not sure what this sweet thing is about as I've never eaten biscuits normally. Could it be the lack of carbs do you think?
Doing a big roast chicken dinner for the DGC's who are coming after school with jelly and vienetta for afters. I will have chicken and roast veg and give the roast potatoes, stuffing and Yorkshires a miss.
Hope you're all having a good morning - will check back later to let you know if I managed to resist the roast potatoes!

recklessgran · 14/02/2019 08:48

Wow @Tinsel that's brilliant. Well done you. Keep going- together we can crack this weight lark.

TinselAndKnickers · 14/02/2019 08:51

That sounds lovely Reckless! I wish I was your DGC Grin I am going to lunch tomorrow with my DGP so can't wait!

I think the sweet stuff could definitely be due to the lack of carbs as you're craving sugar Grin

Thank you! My first proper loss has given me some motivation - I was starting to give up!

YouBoggleMyMind · 14/02/2019 17:11

Happy Valentines ladies 💓
Good loss Tinsel!

TinselAndKnickers · 14/02/2019 22:43

How's everyone's days been?

recklessgran · 15/02/2019 08:53

Morning all. Yesterday, ham salad for lunch and roast chicken and veg for dinner. Another digestive biscuit afterwards. Mmm.
Got on scales this morning and have only lost half a pound since my wayward weekend. Must try harder! Beginning to think that my total lack of exercise is a form of self sabotage. Is anyone actually exercising alongside the diet?
Out to lunch with bestie today and DD5 coming home for the weekend so could be dangerous foodwise!

TinselAndKnickers · 15/02/2019 09:25

Half a pound is good! It's not been that long Smile enjoy your weekend reckless!
I do swimming (well fast walking in a pool cos I have some muscle and joint problems atm!) every now and then which helps and always feels good after, I just can't ever be arsed to go!

Applesaregreenandred · 16/02/2019 09:48

I don't do any formal exercise but I do walk my dog and count steps - I do around 8,000 a day. Need to up this a bit and do some strengthening exercises.

Haven't logged my food diary for the last week but still making healthier choices than previously and not put any weight back on.

recklessgran · 16/02/2019 10:14

Morning all, happy weekend. DD4 arrived last night [surprise!] and DD5 coming this morning. This means a trip to posh garden centre for hot chocolate and cake as is tradition when DD's come home. Will have tea and try to choose least calorific cake - is that even possible? Will have to rinse and repeat on Tuesday when teacher DD3 comes home for a couple of days as it's half term. A chip dinner and a roast have been requested for this weekend. I will resist.A sneaky preview on the scales this morning shows that I have lost a pound since Wednesday so can't afford to undo that after my misdemeanors of last weekend.
@Apples I'd like to bet I don't even do 800 steps let alone 8,000. This is what I need to address I think and could be key to me losing the weight I long to shift. I remain determined despite my age and lazy lifestyle! DH thinks swimming might be good but I'm not a strong swimmer so doubt I'd use that much energy at the pool but @Tinsel, your walking in water sounds a good idea. I am going to start going on the evening walk with DH who goes out in all weathers for a walk after dinner whilst I clear up, make the coffee and snuggle in front of the fire awaiting his return!
Hope everyone else is doing OK.

DizzyBeeme · 16/02/2019 16:09

Feeling really annoyed. I gain half a pound after all week of bring in the Cambridge diet !! I had a couple of cheeky treats but nothing too silly. I'm determined to carry on and get a loss for next week though!!

TinselAndKnickers · 17/02/2019 00:57

That sounds lovely reckless! Have a great weekend.

Dizzy - half a pound is nothing! I bet you do well overall.

All gone quiet on here - is everyone okay? Grin I had fish and chips today on my break during a 13 hour shift and don't even feel a little bit guilty Blush I also had a kit Kat chunky, from which I won a sun visor.. Grin

Anyone starting a new diet tomorrow 21/1?
recklessgran · 17/02/2019 09:56

Good morning. Good day yesterday in that I had tea and the largest slice of fresh cream victoria sandwich at the posh garden centre. Fillet steak, pepper sauce, mushrooms, tomatoes and peas for dinner - everyone else had chips but I resisted those. DH and DD's had raspberry and belgium chocolate roulade with cream afterwards but I gave that a miss too. Hoping the remains of the roulade will be eaten for dessert today after the roast beef dinner and before DD's go home.
@Dizzy, how are you today? Keep going it will get easier and I have realised that there isn't a quick fix - it really does have to be a long term thing. @Tinsel I'm worried too that people are disappearing off this thread and hope everyone is O.K.
Off to local shopping centre today for girly shopping with DD's and cafe no doubt....will try to be good and update later.

TinselAndKnickers · 17/02/2019 09:58

That sounds amazing! Grin

Trying to fast till 1pm today... let's see how it goes!

YouBoggleMyMind · 17/02/2019 10:32

Hi ladies, sorry I've been absent. My heart hasn't really been in it. I've gained the weight back and I'm struggling to do anything about it. I didn't want to spoil your effort cos you're doing so well.

recklessgran · 17/02/2019 10:52

'Ahh @Youboggle please stay with us. You won't spoil our efforts the idea is to help each other and God knows this is HARD. I do agree though that you have to be in the right mindset as it is quite a lonely experience, hence why I personally am finding this thread helpful as somewhere to account for myself. It has certainly stopped me from going right off track on occasion knowing that I will have to post what I've been up to on here!

TinselAndKnickers · 17/02/2019 11:52

Oh Boggle! Don't be silly, you are welcome on the thread even if you aren't particularly arsed about it at the minute! I know I have some days where I don't care, like yesterday with my fish and chipsGrinBlush it's a long bloody road but we can do it!

YouBoggleMyMind · 17/02/2019 12:37

Thank you, you're really lovely.
I've started tracking properly again today. I'm hoping that's going to try and kick my brain into gear to care a bit more. I've had such a hard last 12 months and I feel relatively happy as I am right now,

YouBoggleMyMind · 17/02/2019 12:39

Oops posted too soon. So feel like pushing myself to lose weight is actually going to make me feel crap again. However, I know I'll be pleased with the end result so I should think about that really.

TinselAndKnickers · 17/02/2019 15:11

Yes - the end result! And you will feel better by eating the right foods, over time. I know I still eat crap but cutting down on portion size etc has made me feel less sluggish. It's not a sprint, no rush. Take your time and we are all in the same boat!
