I had pizza last night Blush

LittleDoritt · 16/01/2019 18:11

Ooh Tulips, now you're talking.

Fiontar you're absolutely right. I'd completely forgotten that! That gives me a bit more willpower and resilience. Thank you!

LittleDoritt · 16/01/2019 18:14

I was planning to do dry January but now I have a rare night out on the 27th and I'm not willing to drink mineral water all night. Then, typically, like London buses, another night out on the 2nd so I really need to stay strong now or it'll all slip into chaos.

Fiontar649 · 16/01/2019 18:15

PrivateCello ... Did you enjoy it? Pizza once in a while isn't gonna do much damage.

Someone here in week 1 (I think) said that it's just one meal out of twenty-one... that has stuck in my mind since.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 16/01/2019 18:17

Thanks LittleDorrit and hopefully it won’t be long until we can enjoy all the clothes we’d love to wear!

I’d love pizza but it’s chocolate and all things sweet I crave! I sometimes have a Curly Wurly as a snack if I really want something sweet because they’re not all that high in calories. If you have only one that is Hmm

I weigh in daily tulip. I don’t get discouraged if it stays the same or goes up a little and I think I tend to loss then bounce up a little for the next few days until the lower weight becomes the new norm.

Fiontar649 · 16/01/2019 18:18

LittleDoritt
That's something to aim for - get 10 good days under your belt between now and then. You'll really enjoy it then

PrivateCello · 16/01/2019 18:24

Thanks Fiontar649 I must remember that, it’s good advice. It’s was okay, not the best but was in a rush and hungry so just something quick.
What y’all having for dinner?
I got white rice, salad, garlic sausages, sardines cooked in onion, tomato and a bit of spices, avocado.

StealthNinjaMum · 16/01/2019 18:49

When I have pizza out I go to somewhere that does a light option i.e. Small pizza and salad like Pizza express with a Diet Coke. Not sure if it would help anyone to do that?

I am sort of struggling. Still not eating much because of anxiety but I have lost a bit of willpower so today have five mini shortbreads I'd bought for dc. I'll still be under 1000 calories but I really want to make healthy choices.

Other meals today were fish soup and greek salad.

I agree that one bad day in three weeks won't make all the weight go back on.

StealthNinjaMum · 16/01/2019 18:50

Also, while I am not low carbing I am definitely craving more floury things. Bread yesterday, shortbread today.

Fiontar649 · 16/01/2019 19:31

I am not low carbing but I am not having any baked/processed food, so no bread for now. Can't say I am missing it yet. I am having plenty of spuds though, which I am more than happy with!

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 16/01/2019 20:15

I’m sorry to hear that willpower is starting to be challenged. I think that’s totally natural at this stage. Hopefully everyone can stay on track...or if you lapse (which is totally ok) get back on track soon.

I’ve still been pretty good food wise and have been very good at going to the gym. My weight has gone back up though which I’m really struggling with Sad.

When - I appreciate I’m putting my own stamp on all of your life stories (11 month old non sleeping child here too!) but I’m also having bad knee trouble. I’ve had problems since I was a child and have had operations, but I think they’re particularly bad now because I’m so much heavier Sad.

NewFitMe · 16/01/2019 20:18

I’ve fallen of the wagon. I’ve just eaten two bars of chocolate. And last night I ate a whole bag of chocolate bites. I need to get a grip asap

mrbob · 16/01/2019 20:22

I read a book by an alcoholic and he said he found it helpful if he didn’t tell himself he couldn’t ever drink again, just that he couldn’t drink today. And then every morning he told himself that and it was somehow easier than “never”

WhenCanISleepAgain · 16/01/2019 20:35

It’s great to have a buddy in the same boat gruffalos Smile Not to blast our own trumpet but I think it’s amazing to have any willpower on so little sleep! Sorry about your knee though and hopefully losing weight will bring some relief as the weeks so by. Don’t let the scale bouncing up put you off - it’s just a temporary blip if you keep going!

Welcome back NewFitMe You’re back and you’ve got this!

I think that’s helpful mrbob in that I can’t keep going with a diet indefinitely but I can take it a day at a time or manageable chunks.

TheGruffalosLoveChild · 16/01/2019 21:22

That makes a lot of sense Mrbob. It definitely makes it more manageable!

I’m sending a high five When, because we’re awesome for just surviving let alone dieting Grin.

LittleDoritt · 16/01/2019 22:16

Decided to take my own advice and view it as 1/21th of my week. Had a nice blow out meal and a line has been drawn. Straight back on it tomorrow. I'm trying to view this as a sustainable long term project rather than merely having a "perfect" January.
Fridge is very quiet. Hope all is well with you.

ThrownMuse · 17/01/2019 05:48

Morning all!

Just wanted to send a hug to those dealing with lack of sleep. We had 6 years of it (DS is now 8) and early wake ups. It's a killer, so be kind to yourselves!

Blips are also part of the process too, I think we'd all self destruct without the odd one (I know having one evening off a week for wine has been fundamental to me sticking with it the rest of the week, but each to their own!).

Working from home today, always tricky, but if I run (well, waddle) it may put me in a good mindset. I was fine yesterday as busy and out of the house...

BF: Egg on pitta
LU: Small jacket and beans, salad
DI: Not sure, prob smaller version on whatever I'm cooking!

Hope everyone has a good day.

wizzler · 17/01/2019 06:58

Morning everyone!
Are you ok Fridge

TulipsInbloom1 · 17/01/2019 07:43

Morning all. Skipping breakfast this morning as in a rush. Lunch is a pack of couscous with a little tub of cherry Tom's, spring onion and salad cheese. I've got a mugshot in my desk from my old attempt at SW days so will have that too.

No idea what to do for dinner tonight. Maybe jacket pots.

mrbob · 17/01/2019 07:54

Went past a fruit shop today and was just about drooling. What I wouldn't give to eat a whole punnet of cherries (in season here and they are so sweet and perfect) and a big wedge of watermelon!

Fiontar649 · 17/01/2019 08:04

Morning. It's a struggle today! Had a rubbish sleep, woke during the night with a headache and period cramps. Delightful.

Was sorely tempted to sleep longer, and skip breakfast, but if I don't make breakfast and lunch here I will end up buying something off-plan in the shop near work. Feel happy now that I pushed myself to do it.

mrbob · 17/01/2019 08:08

Good work Fiontar- I am having the same issue knowing how important it is to force myself to prepare well or risk disaster!

mrbob · 17/01/2019 08:08

And even more well done for doing it while feeling crap

fatcatshavemorefun · 17/01/2019 09:01

I am doing really well food and exercise-wise this week and had a sneaky mid-week weigh in his morning and had lost a little bit. However, it is my hen do this weekend and I know Friday night and the whole of Saturday will be difficult. We will be eating out for all meals and some of my friends don’t agree with dieting so will be questioning my choices. There will also be lots of extra calories from booze, obviously. Realistically, I can’t put on several kilos in a day and a half, can I...? I am looking forward to it but worrried about setting myself back too much (only a few weeks to go now!)

FleeceDetective · 17/01/2019 09:13

How have you been choosing to eat better for you -Fatcat? calorie counting/low carb/Sw etc? Maybe we could help you with food options that don’t ‘appear’ to be diet food.
