Whencani.. don't beat yourself up, it was only one slice I expect. I reckon most of us will be on this diet for months if we need to get to the weight we want, and we are all going to have slips. Just start again now ( dont wait until tomorrow.. its too easy to stuff yourself with biscuits because technically you and the diet are on a break until monday morning) !

Catalicious · 13/01/2019 18:58

I’m aiming for 1lb a week and have lost 3.4lbs so far. Am chuffed as it’s my time of month and haven’t been able to exercise much due to a cold, so I’m hopeful I can sustain it...

wizzler · 13/01/2019 19:04

Hounds that article is really interesting.
The bit where it talked about you being more focussed if your efforts benefitted someone else.. I reckon I can drum up some other people at work who are dieting and if we all give a pound for every pound we lose by end of April I reckon we can donate £100 to a charity. Hopefully this will give us the extra incentive to keep at it .

fatcatshavemorefun · 13/01/2019 19:28

Been really good and on plan all week and weekend so hoping for a loss on Tuesday. Missed the gym this weekend though as was busy with friends but did do a pretty intensive hot yoga class!
I’m not sure if I should switch my weigh in to Mondays as Tuesday is straight after two gym classes and I feel like they might hid a loss... hm.
Well done to everyone for getting through the weekend, I find the weekends much harder than week days

WhenCanISleepAgain · 13/01/2019 19:52

Thank you wizzler and you’re right about starting again right away. I think an early night may be in order to keep me away from temptation.
That article was great hounds and there’s a lot in there that will help me.

mrbob · 13/01/2019 20:03

What am I doing wrong? Yesterday I had a heap of appropriate low carb veggies for breakfast, a keto pancake with a couple of strawberries and a scoop of coconut yogurt for lunch which was so gross I threw it up again and some stir fry veggies with no calorie noodles for dinner. And a handful of nuts. And I am losing zero weight this week Sad I just don’t know what else I can do

WhenCanISleepAgain · 13/01/2019 20:29

That must be frustrating mrbob. Maybe it’s one of those times where you’ll then see a big drop all in one go?

mrbob · 13/01/2019 22:01

I hope so!

LadyVox · 13/01/2019 23:33

Hello all, mind if I join?

I just had my birthday on Saturday, so that’s my bad food done and out the way. I am starting the 8 week blood sugar diet tomorrow and will report back with my start weight in the morning when I weigh in.

My goal is my wedding in May- 4 months to go! I’d love to lose 3 stone by then, but probably not possible at this stage. Will take 2!

NakedAvenger · 14/01/2019 05:04

@mrbob is this your first week? If not have you lost previous weeks?

I see you're doing keto. Can you post some example days food?

NakedAvenger · 14/01/2019 05:17

For interests sake I wanted to share this. This is my weight loss over 7 days of blood sugar diet and it's a clear demonstration that weight loss isn't linear and fluctuations are normal and to be expected

By Saturday I had lost almost 7lb (starting weight on Sunday was 14st 7.8 but my Fitbit scales didn't register). By sat I was 14.0.

Through the week I stuck to the diet religiously and no alcohol but then on sat we had visitors and I went a bit over cals and had far too much alcohol. Result - Monday morning I was up 3lbs!

Now I'm aware enough that it's not possible to lose 7lb of fat in 5 days. Equally it's not possible to put on 3lb overnight. So it's probably a whole load of water weight gone and the weekend was my body stabilising and the negative impact of a load of wine!

Nevertheless my fat ratio didn't go up!

I think this shows that daily weighing gives you huge insight into your body's fluctuations and it's told me to take those fluctuations in my stride as well as allow for some soul searching as to whether I could have made some better choices and reined it in! If I hadn't I would have only seen a 3lb move on the scales (still good!) but probably a bit downheartened and done the bloody same next weekend!

Anyway. Hope it's useful in some way.

Thanks naked that’s actually really good to see. I think it is just hard waiting for the results as an instant gratification type!
Today was protein shake for breakfast and celery and cucumber sticks for lunch with a little almond cheese. Tonight will be a big salad with tahini dressing. I think I had an accidentally sweetened coffee a couple of days ago- that may have been enough to push me back? I am still feeling good trying to stick to it though so I am not goin g to knowingly fall off the wagon just yet!

mrbob · 14/01/2019 05:26

And this is my second week. Good loss in the first one and not really any this week

NakedAvenger · 14/01/2019 05:28

Hey @mrbob which protein shake you having?
What veggies in the salad and what will your protein be and the fat?

mrbob · 14/01/2019 05:32

Can’t remember the shake brand- something vegan! I checked it was the lowest carb one though. And added in hemp and almond milk. Salad will be lettuce cucumber capsicum tomato and Avo with a little tofu. Not saying every day is this good but that is a rough idea!

NakedAvenger · 14/01/2019 05:36

Okay. I've done LCHF a number of times and god it works. BUT. The second week is a killer and seeing no loss is very very common. As you can see with mine your body flushed a load of water. Then realised it needed to keep some! Your body is stabilising to this new routine. You may see a big loss next week or you may quickly fall into a 2lb loss a week from now on.

Also keto should be a very satisfying diet! Yours really isn't! Where is the fat and satiating protein? Are you usually vegan? LCHF is very very hard for veggies and vegans as the satiety comes from dense proteins (meat and fish) and lovely tasty fats (cheese, dairy) and you are limited to nuts and avos. Nuts are still high in carbs though so even on your limited intake they could be pushing you out.

Also water water water water!!! 2 to 3 litres. That's stalled me before a few times when I haven't had the water intake.

I have Splenda in coffee 3 times a day and it's never had an impact.

mrbob · 14/01/2019 06:00

I am adding in fat with frying the tofu etc and dressings but yes it is hard! I am vegan anyway though so used to quite a lot of the restrictions!

mrbob · 14/01/2019 06:02

And yeah maybe drop back on the nurs! Thanks heaps!

NakedAvenger · 14/01/2019 06:13

I think you need to up your proteins and fats though. Try to avoid those keto type recipes using protein shakes. They're often hard to stomach I find. Coconut yoghurt is gorgeous but I find you only need a little to feel full. Try it with some toasted seeds and a teaspoon of sliced almonds (yum!)

Definitely use MFP to log your carbs and keep them around 20g but you have to find a way to up your fat. Stirfry in good oil. Olive oil over salads. Main focus should be protein so you feel nicely satiated afterwards. Watch out for hidden sugar in dressings

The low carb bootcampers will be a good source of inspiration and I'm sure They will share many stories of the 2 week stall. Often followed by a big whoosh! Keep going!!! Can you weigh everyday?

PrivateCello · 14/01/2019 06:21

Morning all
I have a busy day tomorrow and won’t get the chance to check my scale so did it today. I have lost 0.7kg bringing my weight to 76.6kg. Have a good day y’all!

wizzler · 14/01/2019 06:44

Well done Cello

WhenCanISleepAgain · 14/01/2019 07:03

Good work cello!!

I have maintained a nearly 1.5lb loss so far for this week despite cake and a not so great weekend. I’ll weigh in tomorrow.

WhenCanISleepAgain · 14/01/2019 07:04

(As in I’ve lost nearly 1.5lbs this past week)

AFridgeTooFar · 14/01/2019 07:30

Morning campers!

AFridgeTooFar · 14/01/2019 07:55

Life is still a little surreal atm.

Since I took those first photos, I'm not scared of looking in the mirror any more! I've seen myself at my worst now (as has Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, my neighbor...)

So I've found myself dressing better! I wore heels for the first time in forever to work on Friday! And make up!!! Hilariously, it was a "She's All That" moment...I wore smart jeans and a top. No men's tee in sight! People's reactions!

I then went out with a newish friend, and two of her friends. It turned into Stupid Selfie Time...and, even though I was the biggest by a mile, I felt as valid, and looked as good, as any of them!

It's weird!

Oh...and I haven't bitten my nails for a week!

Today, after I've blitzed the house? I'm going to learn how to put on gel eyeliner.
