Sea I’m dead on 15

ChristmasSeacow · 11/01/2019 20:19

Ah Wolf, you’re not so far off me at all! At a steady rate you’ll be that stone down in a couple of months. But ime, your head has to be in the right place to do it. I’m not sure what tips me into the right frame of mind, it doesn’t seem to correlate with anything obvious (I didn’t manage to lose weight for my wedding, for example, and I lost weight through DS and my dad’s initial diagnoses). Confused

3lb is a good loss!

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/01/2019 20:50

Haha motivational booting. Now I have read her post properly I see she wasn't asking. Soz curvy

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/01/2019 20:52

Macros = macronutrient. Fibre, protein, carbohydrates and vitamins and such like.

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 11/01/2019 21:01

Hi north and sea!
life, I definitely need the kick!Grin

Steps today 10010, so just about got those in!
Food wise not so good as have had a few hectic days so will start logging again tomorrow. No idea what my calorie intake was this morning and this afternoon as had food at a conference, but it was lovely!

lifelongfrugaleer · 11/01/2019 21:04

I will kick away then curvy. Does it count towards my steps. Might put my Garmin on my booting foot........hmm

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 11/01/2019 21:26

Haha life, go for it!

LonelyOversharer · 11/01/2019 21:42

Oh god I miss you lot so much!
Now I know I have murdered the other thread (I promise I haven't nobbled fluffy)...but if I promise to be very good, can I hang out here?

Steps are down for me as I have been feeling blue. Plus there is a dog in heat round here, my rather intact dogs are behaving really badly...so less walks. For me. Dp chased them for 2 hours today as they ran away, he can barely walk now. Silly sods, the three of them.

Have eaten a silly left over party food tea, which was preferable to a chippy (and more frugal, sob!) I suppose. Limited myself to 4 sugared almonds (I stupidly bought a kilo), and told dd3 to hide the bag.

Happierwithouthim · 11/01/2019 21:49

Loads of frugal friends here now Grin

Hey lonely, you are always good Grin

Wolfcub · 11/01/2019 22:12

Lonely you haven't murdered the other thread. Get your arse back over there

Unescorted · 11/01/2019 22:16

Lonely get back! Or otherwise I will have to do exercise or lose weight.

Happierwithouthim · 11/01/2019 23:08

I ran 45 mins with my friend this evening, was spur of the moment & really enjoyed we've never run together before

YOU didn’t murder the other thread Lonely. And it will hopefully regenerate in time, if we can keep it vaguely normal Wink.

Hang out here for now though... you are counting steps and fretting about sausage rolls, so you are one of us!

I managed 12k steps in the end. Not too bad.

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/01/2019 07:14

Hey lonely. You don't murder it and we need you back. Sure hang out here for a bit.

Ended up on 15,006 steps.
No gym today, rest day.

LonelyOversharer · 12/01/2019 08:15

How on earth do you lot get to 10-15k steps?? I can barely manage 6k, and it feels like I am always on the go. So far I have done 102, and am off shopping while dd1 volunteers. I bet I only manage about 3k.

My stupid spaniel is still throatily howling constantly. Quite glad I'm going out until lunchtime.

Wolfcub · 12/01/2019 08:17

Great steps Life well done

WreckTangled · 12/01/2019 08:18

I don't count steps. I have nothing to count them on and would only end up being disappointed Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 12/01/2019 08:18

I walk to work and back lonely. It's an hour and a bit a day.
Yesterday was 30 mins in the spot. I made a decision not to take the car and walk to beavers. It's about a 15 minutes walk each way.
The difficulty you have is where you live you can't decide not to take the car. Aim lower, but for more than you do in daily life iykwim, that's ok too.
I will do about 5 on a day of in the house.

WreckTangled · 12/01/2019 08:23

You're right life I have to drive everywhere. I suppose little things like the furthest spot in the supermarket all help though.

ChristmasSeacow · 12/01/2019 08:53

Yes, needing to drive makes a lot of difference.

3x a week I do the school run with DS twice a day. Each round trip (just over a mile I think?) is c 4500 steps. So that’s 9k before I’ve done anything else. Work days (in the office) are usually rather less as I don’t move much when I get there (don’t usually even take a lunch break). So it's just the commute and a bit of pottering. Maybe 7k all in. Weekends vary massively but this weekend I might not actually leave the house so I’m not expecting great things!

Steps so far today: 0 (but about to get up now Wink)

WreckTangled · 12/01/2019 08:58

I've had an unhealthy breakfast. Toasted cheese and quorn 'ham' croissant. It was a small croissant though only 160 calories and didn't add butter.

Wolfcub · 12/01/2019 09:06

That sounds nice Wreck. Yum. I don’t have a step tracker but I suspect it would be woeful. Like Sea if I’m in the office I’m glued to a desk for 8 hours straight. When I work at home it’s similar except that I tend to pace the house when I’m on the phone. Most things require a car I am in walking distance of our town centre but what it has to offer is quite limited so I could get a top up shop for example but not a full supermarket shop
The hip also tends to be an issue. I’m fine walking on relative flat stuff and can walk for miles once I get going (paying for it later) but stairs are problematic

Not2bObvious · 12/01/2019 09:09

Morning all. I managed just shy of 15,000 steps, was pretty pleased with that. Matching on the spot watching the tv/listening to a podcast/dancing to music is always an option if walking outside isn’t. I’ve gone off strenuous exercise with sciatica always lurking waiting to kick in. My night out last night was cancelled, meant I only overate a wee bit as opposed to a lot. I think this isn’t going to be a showstopper weight loss wise. I was on track for 1.1lb down but I haven’t weighed since Thursday and did go a tad mad then.
As I’m out tonight, the aim will be keep cals low all day & steps high. I’ll either go on the treadmill for an hour jog or outside for 1.5 walk.
Anyone doing anything interested?

Unescorted · 12/01/2019 09:19

lonely I blame you for this!
I am 75 kg at the upper end and 73.5 after a night of hot sweats. My BMI says I am just in the healthy range and according to the NHS exercise ratings I am "active". This makes me thinks it is a lie.

I want to get to 68kg and stay there. It will make size 12 jeans fit easily and reduce the amount of accidental midriff that shows. I too have broken my middle with kids.

To do this I am going to go back to the skip breakfast routine. I only started eating breakfast when DH went to work at the same time as me would have toast. It became a habit and I put on weight. When I was young mornings used to be coffee and fags. Now it will be coffee.
I am also cycling to the station -6 easy to fit in miles a day. It is quicker to cycle than catch the bus. Also saves £5 per day bus fare.
Yoga once a week...in the kitchen gym
I am failing miserably with no alcohol..but I have reduced it down which is a start.
